Somewhere in Belgium #3

It seems that Google is still not quite finished getting the Blogger system back to shape, still struggling to restore the lost posts and comments. Let's try to publish a few new screen shots and see what happens...

  1. Great screens! I love the little roadside towns! Will there be gas and repair stations there?
Hope Google fixes the Blogger problems.
    Great work! SCS Software ROCKS!!!

  7. Very nice work SCS Software! Keep it up! :)

  8. I am very glad to see such pictures. But why the color of te road is changing in the second picture ?
    Sorry for my bad english

  9. The road limit I hope it will be 90 km/h and the cars will drive at such a speed not at only 50 km/h. Make them overtake... if it will be speeders

  11. Holly... O.o
This is so beautiful! I am speechless!

But-SCS, I think it is time for a little gameplay video to show what is like to drive on these roads..! ;-) Don't you think?

  12. Great screenshots SCS, an error is not good, but in our community we saved all stuff from you ;)

  13. @ Dexter, SCS is trying to to simulate an old road and a new part. :D

    Nice screens. Again in Belgium.

  14. Very beautiful photos! They look like paintings.

    small request:
I think that it would be better if the hud map rotated pointing up the direction of the truck because it is easier and intuitive to navigate.

    what do you think?

  15. I hope also that the process to give life to vegetation is well underway.
Gives a fantastic visual effect real and alive.

  16. These pictures are really nice, guys. I hope we will not only be able to see those roadside towns and villages, but also to drive through them. It would make these small roads much more lifelike.

  17. Beautiful views. In the first screen is a little town. Will we can go on it or is it only dummy view? It'd nice to go through it. Think about it .

SCS you create so catchy work. For me it's so great that I'll buy it for sure. Greetings from Poland.

  18. Hi SCS TEAM,

    very nice pictures ,

Can i suggest to you some idea to make ETS2 more enjoying ...?
indeed ,why not to set up in the game secondary roads or way with temporally ( see roadworks) and permanent road signs especially for trucks , as for example bellow:

    http://www.poulelesecharmeaux.eu/actualites-informations/circulation-dans-le-coeur-de-village/

    or:

    http://www.techni-contact.com/produits/2985-4785664-signalisation-temporaire-deviation-poids-lourds.html

With the possibility to get some penality by the police ( police report/ticket) ,if the gamer/driver doesn't respect these obligations....?

If eventually you need more informations for road sign (in France)this is a link :

    http://fr.calameo.com/read/000003958b8735260b192

I hope my suggestion and road signs'link will help and interrest you

    Good luck SCS TEAM ;-)

  19. My truck suggestion :
When you are buyng a truck you are recieing like this :
    http://fr.calameo.com/read/000003958b8735260b192
Then at your tractor you can add spoilers for cabin and tanks.

    Good job SCS !

  21. Great screenshots, especially love the guardrail in the second screenshot, finally a double realistic one.

I can also see you start placing signs and stuff.

1 thing you shouldnt forget in roads in Belgium to get extra realism: ALL (HIGH)WAYS NEED LIGHTS...

We are very known for our overlit roads so try to place some lights on the side of the roads and highways as well and not in other countries...

  22. I hope for this bridge from france will apear in the game

  23. we missed you :D
And this blogger thing happened when I had such a great idea about wheel deformation...
Oh well, I guess i'll have to write it down, again! :)
Is it possible to model the tires with multiple stages of deformation, that can be used, in game, according to dynamically calculated loads, and have only the texture spinning on them, to give the rolling effect? This way the tire would actually be stationary, dragging on the road, but showing a certain amount of deformation, while the impression of turning would be only given by the texture rotation.

About those pictures: is that a storm in the distance? Weather gets a bit more realistic, it seems. Nice job, then!!!

  24. Absolutely lovely. (c:

Must make sure to skip work in the game sometimes to enjoy the view, heh!

  26. IronArmz suggested a great feature, a ROTATING MAP which turns with the vehicle so that it ALWAYS points UP - making navigation MUCH MORE easier. I hope that it will be implemented in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah, it would be nice to be able to go through the areas that are blocked off. This includes small towns, other highway roads, and in the deep parts of cities. Like in German Truck Sim, I would have liked to go onto the cable-stayed and suspension bridges in the west of the country. But you blocked these bridges. It would be nice to go in all these interesting areas.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It would be nice to have a minimap just like the previous ones, but with a red line showing the path you're going on. That would make it so easy, just like a real GPS. It would be nice also to be able to press a button and select from a map that pops up, locations of interest. These can include repair stations, gas stations, cargo terminals, maybe even certain city buildings.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nice work, but I just though of something. You should include famous landmarks, like the leaning tower of pisa is Italy, or the Eiffel Tower in France, the Big Ben in the UK, as well as historic bridges, like the Firth of Fifth truss bridge. Please make a good selection of bridges. Don't just include suspension. Include cable-stayed, truss, and arch bridges. I have a great suggestion with those. Make it so that the player can drive over these bridges, ones that go over highways and deep valleys. That would be really nice. Like it that picture you posted a while ago, where there was one of these bridges, it would be great to drive over them.

Example : Eurogoodies color green, cap color should be also green (for the trucks on the roads)

  44. The roads are very well like this I think. As they once said, do not forget the people who play the keyboard. Play the keyboard on the roads very small would not be easy ...

Leave the roads as they are.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The road looks so wide because the edges are not marked :P

    ReplyDelete
  46. will have snow on the roads with two ETS?

    BRASIL!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. i wonder if if we will have right hand drive aswell for the ones who like to drive on the correct side of the truck

    ReplyDelete
  48. @2:05 PM

I don't know in what backwards country you live in or if you even have roads there? But the road is definitely not to big where i live. Let them do their work, they know what they 're doing.

Wow SCS, that's really some tasty pictures.

  49. hello I would say that the producers put a little more real in the game I Play the euro truck gold edition and not only like to see the wheel without the hands of the avatar.

  50. Did you know that Belgium has the only fully light motorway network in the world ?

    ReplyDelete
  51. True dexter, yet there is no sign of it in the screenshots...

I agree with the roas which are clearly too wide, but scs already explained why, so people with a keyboard can play the game as well...

  53. I hope the road width will be fixed. If SCS leaves it like that, it will be an arcade game and not a simulator. Just because some play with a keyboard, we expect a simulation, not a children's toy where the road is wider than the lenght of the truck, because maybe infants and grandpas wanna play, too. Come on, adjust the road, it's horrible now!

    ReplyDelete

  58. The road is too wide! I don't like to drive in that roads!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Stop whining, people! I've driven a few miles myself and encountered roads with so many different widths. Most single lane roads in my country, especially those in the countryside, are of greater width per lane, since they include a small portion to be used as a sidewalk. Usually it should be marked, but most road administrators don't actually bother with these details. :D
As for highways, the larger the lane, the better! I love overtaking at speeds in excess of 80mph and these widths suit me well.
    @smokey1984
If you'll read the interview for that Czech magazine, you'll see that the UK map from UKTS is included. So, you'll have your British roads. Anyway I loved the "ones who like to drive on the correct side of the truck".

    ReplyDelete
  60. The HDR in the first picture is still too strong, especially the yellow field. Decrease HDR a little. The second picture is perfect though.

My wishlist: Release many small add-ons for ETS2 so that people who want a big map can buy one step by step, and those who prefer new gameplay features buy those, instead of releasing many individual standalone games, like ETS, GTS, ATS, UKTS. Think of railroad simulations and Steam DLC to get the general idea.

    ReplyDelete
  61. lol all those guys who are saying road is too wide... Look carefully.Maybe you noticed but still not happy with the width, then i cant say nothing.Just see the picture again and look at the right side of the road ! The tires of the trailer is already on the grass ! The trucks cab is beside a reflector mark > I < Truck is not centered to the road in there... Ive been happy with the GTS UKTS road width and i play with keyboard mostly.Whilst in the cab view that road feels like pretty tight as it should in real. Also in my country right lanes of the highways are wider than the most left ones and trucks dont really fill their lanes, just like in GTS UKTS

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ahhh cant wait to drive along these roads!!! love you scs ! :)

  63. salut scs bon boulot
    voila merci

    --------------------------------------------

    hello good job scs
I have an idea to improve the gameplay and entertainment.
why not create a system that allows automatic taking nice pictures in special places and well defined. like the sunset, or vice versa, or when it rains ... and when we deliver our cargo we can see these photos and choose to save them or not.

    thanks
    voila thank you

    ReplyDelete
  64. i hope there will be a lot of prefabs for those single roads. i like the roads as they are -
    more prefabs, please

    ReplyDelete
  65. The road is too wide, the road is unrealistic, the road looks terrible - That's just stupid arguments from stupid people... What are you going? Yes, ETS2 is partly simulator, but it's still just a game. GAME for all gamers, no only for you "harcore truck fans". No one can expect 100% reality.

This game is full of compromises to satisfy as many people as possible. And we can all be glad for us SCS such games with trucks doing ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  66. It came this idea that I would like you share ...

If the system companies in the game remains almost the same as in UKTS, GTS, ATS, is what one might see our drivers on the road? ..

For example, a driver has to make a delivery to a place; and on the road, I crossed with the truck that I have their assigned. (And with his name above the truck for example) ..

    Sorry for my English...

  75. Great job so far! But still there is nothing about weather, rain, snow etc. or even trucks getting dirty. I know there are million suggestions here but if you would just pick up 30% the game would be great. Keep up the good, and keep the blog running cause its a great way of feeding our hungry eyes and minds :D

  76. I see there are a lot of people around here from Romania, it seems that the game is very popular there! I think it's a great idea to add a nice Romania map to ETS2 with the major cities such with the Carpathians, with the Black Sea coast including the city of Constanta - imagine crossing the river Danube on the way to the coast... and with border crossings to Bulgaria (via the Calafat-Vidin ferry across the Danube and the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge). Greetings from a Hungarian (yet, some city names I expect to be bilingual:-)

    Hello,

I'm French and translation (with Google Translate) Czech> French is not very reliable for a good quality of the translation, so the final text.

I read the interview in full and if I had an answer to my question .. I will not get it raised. (see virtual drivers on the roads).

If possible, thank you for translating the interview portion in "good English".
Its better enable me to understand and therefore to have an answer to my question.

CANT WAIT to see,buy and play the ETS 2 !!!!!

Can we see the map for countries and cities for ETS 2 ?

I have one suggestion for new game :

State ( Country ) Border check to pass ( Something like Petrol Station ) press enter or something and wait for 4-6 sec its more realistic....

    Thanks
