Over time, quite a few readers of this blog expressed their wish to have both gender alternatives covered in our games, and at last we got around to be able to offer such an option.
The images above happen to be from a project that of course everybody already knows about due to massive leaks of information that should have not leaked, but such is life. We had to stay silent due to contractual limitations, probably perplexing you a bit with all the info circulating out there. Fortunately, finally next week we will have the green light to unveil it officially on our own communications channels as well.

It's good to see that you're posting news more often, and I hope that you will keep doing so and that you're not just throwing lots of posts during one or two weeks to shut us up and then post once every 2 weeks again.
ReplyDeleteAs for the female driver ... it's good to see that you've listened to a demand, though personally I believe that driving trucks is a job for men, not for pussies.
And since we're at fulfilling demands, when are you going to finally implement pedestrians?
unlike the comment above, you place a comment with respect to scs and you post what you think instead of forcing what you think...i like that.
Deletemany woman drive these trucks, and not always only driving but also the hard work loading and unloading (like the well known Lisa Kelly (ice road truckers), who still is a woman) but it's a choise in the game, those that don't like the woman can leave them. so both "lovers" and "haters" can benefit. as scs already pointed out pedestrians will be most likely for later versions (ETS3?) since completing this would make us wait for at least 2013.
Sorry, but that's just a load of crap. It's just driving. Anyone can do it. You think men can't be secretaries because they can't type? You think men can't be nurses because they can't give sick people injections and medication? You think women can't drive trucks because they couldn't possibly understand how a manual transmission works? What kind of idiot are you?

ReplyDeletereally sad that in this day and age there are still people who think a womans place is in the home . After 15 yrs as a female HGV 1 driver with only one accident that was my fault I have seen the good,bad and dangerous side of driving from NOT just men but also women . I have also seen that there are nearly as many women nowadays play computer/comsole games as men and thank you SCS for thinking of women as well as men . I just hope some of the hired women drivers in the game are also 5 star and not just 2 and 3 star like UKTS and GTS

Deleteyou can crash any car/truck or whatever doesn't mather what builder, if there's something small you overlooked it has happened especially with something big like a bus or truck. reversing or maneuvers will always make you more focused, unlike in a game if you make a mistake it costs a lot of cash + you can be good, but there can always be someone in a hurry and passing instead of waiting= always focused in stead of full relaxation. (and i know what i'm talking bout, i drive for real in towns and small villages)

ReplyDeleteI doubt a traffic jam would make the game more interesting for most of the players. It would be pretty boring to just sit there doing nothing. Of course it would bring realism, but at what expense.
DeleteYeah, remember that not very optimized AI traffic generating in Haulin? It caused so many traffic jams and was absolutely boring. Luckily there was that feature of taking break in the middle of road and all traffic disappeared. It helped, but destroyed atmosphere. Better without traffic jams. :-)
DeleteOr, traffic jams, but with some notification on GPS to avoid it, if you're attentive enough. That would be pretty realistic - maybe good idea for ETS3. :-D
At least then you have a choice to make on your own... Go into the T-Jam , or avoid it completely.... :)

DeleteI doubt SCS will add this, but there's hope for ETS 3. There should be a menu where you can adjust traffic levels easily, whenever you want to. But that's an idea for ets 3.

Great, of course we all like girls in trucks. I'm only afraid if this "secret" project will be so hard game as T&T was (sometimes almost impossible for me, but I'm not complaining, finally something really challenging), there will be no time to look at trucks nor environment... nor girls. :-D

So, the ability of choosing our driver's sex is finally back (I missed it since American Long Haul). Great decision, and nice work with the driver model! ;)
ReplyDeleteNow just add the option to customize the driver with doing haircuts and buying clothes, and you are well on the way of making GTA with trucks (or Test Drive Unlimited for that matter) :DDDD
Euro Truck Sims? Great idea! Maybe choosing your character's profession would be good feature too. For example trucker or... err... trucker! :-D

DeleteI understand that some people plays strategies with friends, I understand that making most awesome Minecraft creations requires co-work, I even understand that others plays racing games or co-op FPS (weird, but what the heck). But multiplayer in trucking game, focused on spedition? Really? What's the point of it? Picking cargo, driving for 20 minutes, honk-honk on someone I'm passing, driving for 20 minutes... Can finally someone explain me what is so amusing on it that everybody wants multiplayer?
Not to mention that lots of gameplay and technical aspects, as we know them from SCS games, would not work (or very hardly) in multiplayer.

It would take a long time to find the right formula, let alone implement the technical solutions to multi-player. Perhaps one day, but not now.

I've been enjoying it for over 18Months now,can't waint for EURO 2.
Picked up a few things that can be rectified,namely 1)When inside your garages and saved,when loading game you find yourselves outside the building
2)Sometimes on the road some some vehicle run into your back ,no indication of that but at destination shows damage, why?
3)Hooter on the MAJESTIC A class truck isvery poor.
