Welcome to Oslo!

Oslo happens to be one of the largest urban agglomerations featured in Scandinavia DLC, in fact Oslo and the surrounding areas is possibly the largest city we have built so far in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

As you can see in the screenshots below, we are using new types of junctions and intersections extensively in Scandinavia, in this particular case to connect the city to the large port that incorporates a ferry terminal.

Oslo itself is filled with several smaller loading docks in different districts of the city located a couple of kilometers away from each other. There are so many opportunities for exploration!

    1. do you know the release date?

    2. It's definitely not going to be released on 20th March - that's just a ploy companies use to make people pre-order it. Given that the map of the last DLC, Going East, was shown in January 2013, and the DLC itself released in September 2013, we could have a long time to wait until Scandinavia's out.

    3. 25th of March is the release date which was obviously told by SCS themselves
Although I can not belive why they do not release it on the spot, on you tube you can already see People playing the scandinavian add on and one of that films was dated September 2014
I sure can understand that there will be press releases to make the journalists test and rate it and to promote it but does it have to be such a long time? To me it seems they keep it on hold/back with no good reason

    4. Maybe the new Mercedes Actros comes with the scandinavian add on!!?

  2. Cool! But is Oslo the biggest city in scandinavia in real life?

    2. No, but I suppose that they are trying to replicate the feel and structure of the city, in wich case maybe Oslo has to be bigger compared to other cities in game.

    3. Oslo is the third biggest city of Scandinavia. Oslo has about 900.000 inhabitants, Stockholm and Copenhagen both have about 1.300.000 inhabitants.

  3. Looks great! However, it seems as if the center line is white in stead of yellow? In Norway the line dividing the separate lanes of travel is always yellow.

    1. There's a mod that paints these lines yellow. I thinks it's @ modsaholic, but I'm not sure...

      Delete
    2. That may be, but I find it kind of odd that SCS don't do that themselves.. It can't possibly be that hard!

      Delete
    3. Yellow if lanes going opposite direction of eachother and white if the lanes goes in the same direction.

      Delete
    4. The roads displayed in these screenshots are all white divider lines in real life, afaik Christian is correct(but I don't have a drivers license so can't confirm 100% :P)

      Delete
    5. I can. Yellow line to separate oncoming traffic. This is also used on highways even though the highways don't have directly oncoming traffic. One of the reasons is that it is for safety. You should NEVER have a yellow line on your right side. Lanes with traffic going in the same direction have white lines.

I have seen screenshots from the new Scandinavia DLC with yellow lines, so it seems that SCS are not very focused on these details.

      Delete
    6. Yes, that's what I meant. I was mainly referring to picture nr.2 and nr.4. Here you can see traffic going in opposite directions, meaning the lines dividing them should be yellow, and not white as you see in the pictures.

Also, what tregetog states, highways also have that yellow line on the left hand side. This is a new practice though, and you will still find "old" highways in Norway with a white line on the left.

  10. When I installed the latest update (1.16.2), I lost almost all of the cities in Poland, the ones that were included on the going east expansion. Is this a glitch or was that supposed to happen? Some clarification from anyone would be much appreciated.

    1. You might installed the game (any version) but you forgot to activate the going east DLC, in which Poland ..is :D

And yeah, what about a release date? New Mercedes? Renault Range T?

  13. We all know how beautiful Scandinavia can be - thanks to your screenshots, that obvious - great work SCS. If you are not planning to enlarge this DLC, we would better want to "be" there and play. As someone wrote before we would like to read about Mercedes New Actros, because like it was with DAF we don't want to wait whole year for it (now it's a half of it).

    ReplyDelete

    1. They are only on roads that actually have them (where the other lanes are going the opposite direction), see this older post where you see them in action:

  26. ETS2 realistically. Best game I've ever played. Great work done so far. Even though still waiting on Slay-trailers update and the New Mercedes trk you mentioned few months back. I'm always up for challenges. Got money put back for Scaninavia and ATS DLC packages, So, feel free to release them anytime time soon, just saying lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am still waiting to know about the double trailers and the road trains as the release of ATS is approaching, remember, in america doubles and road trains are default, every single trucking company in the US utilizes at least three to four doubles for any purpose for example, when the load is higher than a single trailer can handle they use double trailers and are sent on secondary roads to go to the destination instead of the primary roads that have the weighting scales, just saying, and one more thing, where is the SNOW?

  33. SCS you are , again stalling. Where is the DLC bitch ? By the way, I hope you won't mess up again, the sunset. In your original ETS2 the sunset is in south, which put you on the last place in a "shame" top and as a company which makes a game with day -night cycle. All other companies did this right except ...you
