Event: Goodyear Roll-Out!

Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tyre companies and well known for its premium brand. For over 120 years Goodyear has pushed the envelope with new innovations in tyres and ‘beyond tyres’ setting the standard in the industry. Building on over 120 years of innovation, Goodyear just launched a full advanced range of on-road truck tyres. With the latest technologies on-board, the new KMAX GEN-2 and FUELMAX GEN-2 tyres deliver enhanced mileage and fuel-efficiency performance, while being able to cope with all kinds of weather conditions.

To celebrate their recently released new truck tyre designs along with a brand facelift that looks great; we are proud to announce that Goodyear tyres will be coming soon to Euro Truck Simulator 2!

However, distributing these new tyres to all of the garages and showrooms across Euro Truck Simulator 2 requires the help of our awesome community in our Goodyear Roll-Out event.

With this event, you will have the opportunity to receive a free activation key for the DLC (even before it is available on the Steam Store), if your own personal goal and the community goal is achieved.

Be advised that the deliveries might be of long-distance, and owning a variety of map DLCs will be a crucial factor in succeeding.

Let’s meet our community delivery goal! The sooner we achieve the goal, the sooner we can bring the Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC to you - available for purchase when the event closes.

The rules of the event

Using external contracts in Euro Truck Simulator 2 on a World of Trucks-connected profile, the community must reach 300,000 deliveries of Goodyear tyres using the provided Goodyear trailer.

To complete your personal goal, you must make 10 or more deliveries of Goodyear tyres using external contracts on a World of Trucks-connected profile on Euro Truck Simulator 2.

One or more of the following map DLCs are required (DLCs are on sale during the first 2 days of the event):

Rewards

Personal goal: Individual player contributions of 10 or more deliveries of Goodyear tyres will be rewarded with a World of Trucks Achievement and a hanging Goodyear blimp cabin accessory.

Community goal: Once the community goal of 300,000 deliveries of Goodyear tyres is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal then they will receive a Steam code to unlock our new Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC, for free!

Get ready to roll out with Goodyear! We would love to see your photos and videos from the event, so no matter how you are taking part, make sure to share your progress on our Social Media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) with the hashtag #GoodyearRollOut and tagging of our and Goodyear's official profiles.

Utah: New Deliveries

Today we have some work-in-progress screenshots of new delivery points represented by local industries. The Utah map expansion will offer many brand new and unique ones. All of those are very important as a part of the in-game economy.

Let's start with the petroleum industry - something that has always been demanded by our community for both American and Euro Truck Simulator 2. In Utah, you'll be able to witness (and work for) this industry's complete circle. From building a new rigging/oil rig to transferring it for storage purposes from the mining and fracking sites. And as in reality, you'll come across potash warehouses too.

Industry support will be represented by heavy machinery service depots and both large and standard General warehouses, made in completely new ways just for Utah!

The other ones are the Country stores with the supply chain of all kinds of deliveries for local farmers, including also a fresh new feed mill, designed specifically for the Beehive state!

The Great American Tour

For the first time in many years, two small teams from our office are travelling to the USA to attend events, meet our fans, to get some reference material for the future development of American Truck Simulator and to breathe in the atmosphere of the States in general!

Down south, Carthoo, one of our Community Managers, Raven, one of our Research leads and Saimon, one of the map DLC leads, will be attending the Great American Trucking Show event in Dallas, TX. You can meet them there on the first two days of the event (Aug 22 - 23), but due to problems with certification for our 4D motion seat, you'll find our team roaming the show floor. You can also keep an eye on our social media, where we'll announce where and when you can meet them.

And because lots of you might not make it to GATS, we'll try to find somewhere in Dallas, where we can meet with you, our community, face to face for a chit-chat, discussions about our games and their development. Plus, with some luck, we hope to be able to host another meet-up in a few days later somewhere along the planned road. We'll give you more info before the event.

On the West Coast, Alex (LondonLad), one of our Community Managers and Oscar, our Business Development will both be attending this year’s PAX West event in Seattle, WA. They will be there for all 4 days of the show (Aug 30 – Sep 2), alongside our partner, Thrustmaster, who will be showcasing their product line-up working in tandem with American Truck Simulator. Alex and Oscar will be looking forward to meeting you at Thrustmaster’s stand at the Expo Hall between 10:30am to around 5pm daily.  Make sure you drop by and say hello to them; perhaps you will walk away with a prize or two!

And last but not least, we are exploring the possibility of sending a third team to the USA; stay tuned to learn more.

SCS On The Road: Nürburgring 2019

Our On The Road crew is packing their bags and preparing to travel to their next destination - the Nürburgring race circuit, a place where so many important events happened throughout the history of racing!

This ETRC event there will take place from 20-21st of July, and we will be there on both of these days. Again, you can find us under one roof with GRAMMER, with whom we've teamed up for all the FIA ETRC 2019 events. So be sure to look out for the ETS2/ GRAMMER themed Container!

If you're going to be there, you should definitely consider stopping by. Our 4D-motion seat will be there with our crew, who'll be glad to meet our fans! You may be rewarded for driving on our sim, or for showing us how dedicated you are as a player through your World of Trucks or Steam profile. There may also be something really special for truly dedicated truckers!

And as always, we'll be reporting from the event live through our social media channels - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - for those who won't be able to make it there!

Moon Landing Anniversary

On July 16, 1969, at 13:32:00 UTC, The Apollo 11 Saturn V space rocket blasted off from the Kennedy Space Center, sending astronauts Commander Neil Armstrong, lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin and a command module pilot Michael Collins on an incredible mission to the moon and back.

It would take three days to travel through outer space to the moon, and even more impressive was the technology that took them there. The journey was made with a computer with 1,300 times less processing power than the average smartphone you hold in your hand today.

On July 20 at precisely 20:17pm UTC, The Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle landed on the surface of the Moon, as the world watched as Neil and Buzz take their first steps on the moon and spoke the famous words 'That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this historic event, we are releasing a very special Space Paint Job Pack for American Truck Simulator, including a few unique accessory items for your truck cab. We are sure it'll make your rig look out of this world.

And to showcase our new paint job pack, we're having a stream this evening on both Twitch and Steam from 15:00 UTC. There'll be some talk, Q&A, giveaways - and a very special person you didn't see in our streams yet!

GPS Voice Navigation

One of the major features of the 1.35 Update, for both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, was the addition of the GPS Voice Navigation functionality and the welcome party was great! It felt like only minutes after we pushed the button, that almost every nation had one or more versions of their own language supported for the voice-over feature. This is thanks to the community who took full advantage of our games' mod support.

Yep, that's right, with little effort you can find different GPS voices, ranging from funny to serious, voiced by well-known actors, comedians, celebrities and of course our very own modders. That's because adding different voice packs or even recording your own is really easy! Check out our modding wiki to see how!

That said, as much as we love community-made mods, add-ons and reworks, we didn't slam on the brakes! There will soon be a total of 15 supported languages; this means that in the future update, you'll find 6 new language options in addition to the 9 that we already have. This mini-update will also bring some minor fixes and changes, which are mostly a result of your helpful feedback. Thank you for that!

Black Sea: Villages

Since the release of the Vive la France!, you asked for more rural roads in every new map expansion. Understandably, as the sights there are much more charming than the highways views. And what completes the rural atmosphere, except nice countryside? Of course, villages!

So today we'd like to share some screenshots from a few mostly-completed villages throughout the countries of the upcoming Road to the Black Sea. And since so many of you wish for more ways to avoid highways, we plan to build a lot more of these!

While it's still a work-in-progress, the beauty of this region begins to show itself, wouldn't you say?

American Truck Simulator - Utah

Many of you beelieved it when we told you that there's another map expansion coming to American Truck Simulator later this year, and most of you guessed the right one!

We couldn't think of a more appropriate time to announce that Utah will become the seventh state in our game than on Independence Day!

And why the Bee teaser? Because Utah is nicknamed the Beehive state, as the Beehive represents hard work and industry. It is also connected to the early pioneer Mormon settlers in the region.

Today, Utah has a population of more than 3 million spread across on 84,899 square miles and features a dry, semi-arid to a desert climate. Utah's many mountains also guarantee a large variety of climates creating a very specific atmosphere with which we tried our best to recreate.

Coming of Utah will also break the "hockey stick" or "L-shape" as you, our community, nicknamed the actual game map. This will allow for a better variety in routes between your destinations and hopefully, bring a richer variety behind the wheel. You will also find new cargoes available since Utah is the center to many different industries.

From now, until the release of this map expansion later this year, you can look forward to more blog posts and articles dedicated to Utah, accompanied with screenshots mapping the development progress.

Meanwhile, why don't you add American Truck Simulator - Utah to your Steam wishlist?
