We were not sure what to expect from the start of Trucks & Trailers on the market; T&T is a small game with narrow focus, and we are well aware that the gameplay concept is alien to a significant part of the truck sim games fan base.
Well, the early reports are quite optimistic! The game has scored very high placements in top sales charts on several digital distribution portals, like GamesLoad in Germany (where the game's title was altered to LKW-Rangier-Simulator) or on Orange portal in France (where the French distributor Anuman gave it an even more generic title - Truck Driving Simulator).
We can only hope that not only general public, but also the hardcore truck sim fans will understand the purpose of the game and its place and purpose in the ecosystem of truck simulators, and that sales from our own own websites at www.trucks-and-trailers.com and www.scssoft.com will keep growing beyond the few hundred sales accumulated so far over the launch week.
Quite nice news, let's hope sales will continue to go well! :)
ReplyDeleteSCS Congratulations by sales!

Congrats, SCS! I'm always glad for news like this. By the way, how's everything with Bus Driver for MacOS? Hope also this title is selling good.
ReplyDeleteI dont really understand te pricing, 9,99 seems quite fair, but seen it for over 30 euro's! Thats rediculous!
ReplyDeleteGreat news, now let's have ETS2 before Christmas ;)
ReplyDeletewe want ets 2 news :(
ReplyDeleteTrucks & Trailers have a problem ... cockpit view in the DAF XF105 is lower than the other Vehicle, this error affect the quality of the game realistic, cabin suspensions are also very unrealistic, it should be smoother.
ReplyDeleteI wish you post something on this subject, please.
30 euro ??? ETS2 will cost 30 euro ? In my country NFS shift 1 is 16.5 euro and nfs shift 2 i belive is 20 euro, for 30 euro i like to get out of the truck in ets2, to walk around and look to the truck , to enjoi every corner of the truck , to have a flat-out ( it will be orgazmic for real truck fans) but i know that scs ar trying to make all of us happy and they can't do every wish ( money, time, lack of people, etc ). Anyway is good that we have them to make us happy, is more expensiv but is for us, for out dream. A BIG Thanks for scs.
ReplyDeleteT&T is a shit
ReplyDeleteA little insight for people complaining about performance with T&T...
ReplyDeleteYes, Trucks & Trailers rendering method is more demanding on the power of the 3D card. With the advanced rendering option (technically it's deferred shading as explained in an older blog post), it's very easy to burn the 3D card's fill-rate very fast with high quality shadows, and the renderer can put almost any card to its knees with maximum super-sampling used. On the other hand, the game can be switched to use the older rendering method, basically equivalent to what GTS/UKTS generation games were using, and then, in most scenarios, performance on weaker hardware should be comparable as in the older games.
When it comes to NVidia in particular, here is an interesting table for their cards and features:
http://www.techarp.com/article/Desktop_GPU_Comparison/nvidia_4_big.png
For practical purposes in gaming, there are basically two crucial columns in the table to keep an eye on: Texture Fill Rate and Pixel Fill Rate. The higher numbers the better.
Check out the difference between the high-end class and low-end class of each recent generation; see the low end numbers, you generally never want to buy the cards if you want to use them for serious gaming. As an example, a few generations back with the 8xxx series, GeForce 8100 to GeForce 8500 were really cheap low performance cards, and the fun has only started with GF 8600 GS. So a 8400 card is considerably worse for gaming than older generation 7600, actually even several GF 6800 models are faster than GF 8400. So when buying a 3D card, don't just keep in mind the "generation" of the card, newer is not always better, what matters is really the raw fill-rate performance. Usually the low-end cards of each generation have good features on-paper, but not enough muscle to put those features to good use. That's the magic why it's possible to buy them so cheaply. GF GT 520? No thanks!
Hi, this is not going on this issue but good. You're going to put this in Ets2?

youre going to put highlight pedestrian in the ets2?
ReplyDeleteSCS,
ReplyDeleteit would be nice if you include additional optional T&T style miissions to ETS2. This would make the game more interesting and more diverse.
Thanks for commentary about game performance.
ReplyDeleteSCS your Engine is Out,T&T Laggs with my GTX580,ETS was Laggy GTS Laggy..for Haulin it was Ok,but Now..never Buy this Laggy Game T&T and ETS2.
ReplyDeleteati cards
ReplyDeletehttp://www.techarp.com/article/Desktop_GPU_Comparison/ati_4_big.png
Anyhow SCS you must consider that your game engine still can be improved and optimized ;)
ReplyDeleteIt least it doesn't get such nice output of full graphics how much it takes to run on full. This ratio can be improved! And please work on that ;)
Cheers SCS and thank you for a wonderful game so far. Looking forward to hearing more news about ETS2 (and perhaps an estimated launch date? wishful thinking on my part...)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good job everyone!
SCS, I really appreciate your work on T&T, I saw that you improved many aspects on the handling, that's a good think, and I'm sure I will see, or feel the same handling or even better in ETS2, so, as I said, you have made serious progresses, even little details like mirrors, or the window camera, make the game very real, and that's a simulator purpose, and I just want to ask you a little think before I end this comment, I want you to make possible to set the gears from keyboard, for the H-Shifter, I made an improvisation, I did a H-Shifter from a joystick, that means the game must recognize more than one controller :D. Keep the good work up :)
ReplyDeleteAnd greetings from Romania :)
P.S. [Sorry if there is bad English :( )
I hope to see people at a gas stations.
ReplyDeleteWhen I put gas in tanks some workmen or somethin... or other people from cars entering in store... They are a lot of ideas to tell
game interface looks more realistic, but it has the same issues as ETS and other SCS games with totally crap implementation of force feedback on my Logitech G25 (under windows XP pro SP3) - this shows as the force feedback only working correctly in the first loaded scenario, after that it gets very heavy and goes into a feedback-vibration loop which almost shakes the desk apart. Other games which use FFB don't do this.
ReplyDeleteAlso, 30 minutes is hardly a fair crack of trial: it took me 5 minutes to set up the controls, and then I had to turn off FFB and restart!
That aside it looks good and bodes well for an improved driving experience in ETS2, Wasn't able to tell if the truck handling on the road is going to be any more credible, as I only got through about the first 5 tasks before the trial ran out. I'm not keen to spend on it if the feedback issue is not fixed.
So the sales are up SCS software. Time for multi player maybe. The virtual trucking company's would love multi player. Make it happen please.
ReplyDeleteAwesome news. :)
ReplyDeletePurchased my copy a few days ago and it is amazing.
@SCS:
ReplyDeleteYes, the SCS games are being distributed in Brazil!
A distributor called Tech Dealer is doing that! SCS, notice that to the communnity here in the blog!
I just hope that they will distribute T&T too!
loco lanza el euro truck 2 de una por el truck trailer no me gusta mucho por que no podes viajar aguante viajar
ReplyDeleteSTOP DELETEING MY POSTS...YOU JUST CANT FACE THE TRUTH!!
ReplyDelete@ SCS Software
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you added the SSAA option in your new engine version, only MLAA would not so nice. Maybe you can use NV's FXAA too ;O). But i've noticed, that without enhanced GFX options the static shadows no more exist - it's only a bug? For me T&T runs good maxed out at a 570GTX², but I'm worried whether it's in ETS2 then then the same, 'cause there are more content ... and with mods ... ;O)
Kamaz
Sorry for my bad English. I downloaded your demo T & T, but I can not run it after selecting the free version of the window flashes on the taskbar and nothing else happens. My system: Core i3 540, H55HD, DDR3 4096 MB, GTX 260 896 MB, XP SP3.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it from a file games.log I am missing the file config.cfg, where can I get it?
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing: when you try to run the game in a folder with an executable file has another: alkylog.txt: Log (NuContext): Setup
ReplyDeleteLog (NuContext): Setup
Error (NuCore): Unsupported function called from 0064DCED: IDXGIAdapter_Release
