The Scania TDS team has updated the game again, without any fanfare the update to version 1.5.0 has been published on the game's website.

UK market is maybe not so small, the existence of UKTS proved it. :-) So yea, why not UK style of map with RHD truck, first there's never enough of free roam maps :-D and second it's attractive for continental people too. Did they changed the sound files for the MAN V8? In a video posted from TheTruckerGal Man V8 sounds like in GTS now has a total different sound, i like it.

I tried to do what anonymous said, but when I try to enter the base.scs a message saying "Access Denied".
Thankfully in ETS2 has no such disturbance. If there is nothing to prove that you are above the speed limit, has no reason to be punished!

Awesome video but...turning signals are a little too noisy to me! It seems like someone hit with a hammer on steel. I hope that's only a problem with the beta release that the video is coming from. Anyway, a great video made by a great trucker and with a great truck!

Notice the AI car trying to overtake in 1:14 way behind the truck. At 1:22 he is still overtaking on double solid line in blind corner. He resigns from overtaking 5 sec later!
DeleteThe traffic jam at 5:10 when 3 lanes narrows to 2 lanes don't look good. When trucks from right lane stops to change lane, AI cars stops also. The traffic movement should be smooth, AI cars should change lane to left and leave space in the middle lane.
Well, CETS, remember that SCS is a small company an the AI traffic is one the most difficult things to simualte on a videogame. Remember the various chapter of GTA? The traffic is good but have a lot of problem like cars who pass with red or hit you or turn when you're coming. And Rockstar have hundred, maybe thousand of people. SCS done a good job for me, because there are a lot of cool features in the AI traffic that i noticed:
Delete-cars make overtake in a single line roads;
-cars flashing you for giving yield;
-cars stop overtaking when there are double lines.
I know, nothing is perfect and i agree with you that the traffic jam in the video is unrealistic, but nothing is perfect! And remeber, Truckergal was playing a demo, maybe in the final product they fix it ;)
I agree, nothing is perfect. I'm glad that they improved the AI traffic but there are visible imperfections in it. Let's hope in the future traffic will be smoother and more realistic, including buses etc.

DeletePlease make the turn signals quieter... Compared to the engine sound, they are really loud! But, since these are videos from the beta, I am hoping that the sound will be changed. :)
I've never been in a real truck but somehow I doubt the turn signal is this loud...
DeleteShouldn't it be a softer sound on those high class machines? Right now they sound like those you had in cars back in the 80's.
Hope someone mods those once the game's live, or better yet, that this gets fixed before then. Either way it'll get fixed though, so I'm not gonna lose sleep over this.

By the way map is big, but full map of Europe could get you more customers and game would be more interesting...

Maybe it is a mistake or a bug i don`t know, but they recorded real sound from the Mercedes and they had the badge licenced, just the name was not real.
DeleteNow there are 4 trucks with real badge and name Volvo, Renault, Man and Scania, i hope Mercedes will not remain unlicenced. I hope they will add/fix if it is a mistake/bug just the badge, the name is not important for me, just the badge from the truck must be real the name doesn`t appear on the truck just on Volvo and Scania, Iveco and Daf we all know that will not have licence.
The truck in the video have a long 6x4 chassis, while in other videos 6x4 chassis where shorter. I think scs push the release date back to add new features like the one showed in the video. I don't care if Mercedes didn't give scs licenses to use their brands it is not a big problem.

DeletePersonally I doubt there's anything more they can do about this, it's up to the steam community now...
Furthermore, if you look carefully, you'll notice they've put up more vids on greenlight than any other game has...so they did do 'more'.
If ETS2 not pass in Steam, then countries such as Russia, the Baltic republics and the CIS countries will not be able to buy a game official who does not have a credit card.

Often you can't patch your games when a patch isn't published especially for the steam version. Just happened to me with TakeOnHelicoptrs, Patch 1.06 not available for steam. Also if Steam down or client not working what also happened i can't play despite the games being installed and ok. NEVER AGAIN STEAM!

DeleteBasically they're still working hard at getting all the licences, no point for them to tell us which are in and which aren't yet. As the manufacturers they are negotiating with might say something like "hey, you told your community that you didn't get our license, so they all think we're assholes now, great work on your part, so bye bye, better luck next time"

ReplyDeleteI have a nasty steering wheel (TRUST) i cant use it as no matter what i try to do on the setting it feels like i have super power steering.
Is there anything you can do, so that the game works better with this steering wheel.
I know you did something for the rest but i cant remember if i am being honest an by the time i get home from work the last thing i want to do is start searching every post for on the blog.
I know alot of people will just say buy a new one but when you got 5 kids hanging around you and you want to escape for an hour on the pc gaming the last thing you want to do is start looking for a post which could well be amoung'st a thousand others.

DeleteOther than that the only thing I can think of is manufacturers settings program, or whatever those are called. Basically its an extra program that overrides the default windows settings and lets you tweak the settings to your hearts contempt.
If you don't know the exact name of your wheel you can probably find a product ID number on the underside of it, give it a go on google, maybe that'll help?

I've tried the sensitivity I've tried lowering the graphics, frame rate, I've lowered the scaling right down.

MrMorrelo told me that SCS removed the licence for Volvo from 0918 beta version. "Nope, there is already version 0919, and really, from the 0918 version there isn't a licence for Volvo trucks."
ReplyDeleteMaybe for some people the licences are not important but for me they are, it is a big estetic thing to know that i drive a Volvo or a Mercedes not an Majestic or how they call it. I really hope SCS changed the licences just ofr the beta and for the full version they will be back again in the game.

DeleteMost of all I would like that this is just another joke from SCS,and if is not the modes will solve the problem.
Modes sucks, i personaly don`t like them, it makes the game to run laggy, it is like tuning a car, not always will run perfect like it was made from the manufacture, from the gates of the factory. If SCS made something, a mode can`t do the same thing without making something wrong, creating problems with the game.

First Anonymous, Man, Scania, Renault have licence, Volvo had too, but wi`ll see in the final game.

DeleteI totally agree with you S7efan...all the modes that i've tried for GTS made the game slower and crash a lot of time. I prefer playing with no brand trucks that with modder made trucks that are not so good as SCS's. Of course i'm sad to listen that SCS can't obteined all the license but what can we do? Amen, the game looks amazing and i don't care too much if i drive a Vaillant :)
DeleteYeah, but the badge of Volvo and Volvo FH 16 on the truck looked awesome, made the truck a beautiful one, now i personaly don`t like it without licence, Mercedes is ok, that star on the badge is ok is not like volvo were it has name on the badge or like DAF, IVECO.
DeleteIf Mercedes won`t be licenced isn`t that big of a problem for me, but Volvo it is because like i said, Volvos badge contain his name and another badge would be very ugly.
Oh well. I will be waiting for Kamaz from the Russians! ;)

I have problem with Dangerous drives missions. Sometimes game throws me back to main menu while I'm driving. I don't see any reason why it would do that.
