Yes there will be a demo version, I've seen a video of it on Youtube, probably the same with other SCS games, 1 hour trial then it'll probably ask for an activation.

the demo wil be 10 trips or 4000 kilometers.

DeleteI have checked the minimum requirements and there's no way my laptop can do it. It says minimum Cpu is 2.4 (or 2.6, i don't remember) ghz, and my laptop has 2.0 ghz cpu :P

ReplyDeleteI've discovered this blog in spring of 2011 and I had hoped that it will be released within few months :D I really liked ETS and I was replaying 18WOS back then.
Now, after all this time it's being released but I don't have a pc at the moment. I would sooo buy this game and play it for long long hours but I guess my waiting has to be prolonged for a few months till I get a pc ^ ^
I will be so jealous to see all the youtube videos and pics of other people playing!!! :D

Well done SCS team, this is very good news, you all deserve a little break from the pressure you have all been under, its a shame about STEAM not really getting behind you, but who misses the train, misses the train. Still you managed to get ORIGIN in the bag so it hasnt been a complete kick in the balls.

ReplyDeleteI understand that many people rather asking for truck functions, precise models, new trailers. It's game about trucking, in first grade, and of course it's important to be focused on that. But for me, it would be boring to drive realistic model in anonymous virtual land. That's why I did not enjoyed first ETS too much. So thank you for every single unique (not only historical) building, thank you for effort with national road signs, for road network more matching reality (I think it almost can't be better with this scale of map) and everything helping recognize in which country now I am.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to buy ETS2 from the SCS website on friday morning and then I will buy the DVD version when my local Gamestop gets it in stock. The reason I am going to buy two copies is to show my support to SCS and hopefully fund whatever is coming in the future. I cant wait to play countless hours of ETS2 and my brother will have fun with it too when he comes over to visit. He loves playing Scania Truck driving Simulator when he comes over.

My parking skills in Scania truck sim. are way much better using only side mirrors.I have been doing this because in ETS2 if you don't park well, extra points for experience will not be given to you.

ReplyDeleteI have an ideea for the game. Now when you're using Cruise Control and you are on a hill if you set the speed to 50 km/h the truck will go over that speed. It would be nice to make the truck to auto brake when the speed is over the cruise control set limit, this way you can't overspeed, break law and be punshied.
I would like to see this too

DeleteUsing cruise control would not really work. But in some new cars and some trucks there is an option to set the speed. For example if you are entering a 40mph zone, you can set the speed to 40mph and then if you try and go over that speed the computer in the vehicle will not let you accelerate. Once out of the 40 zone, you can then either set a faster speed or turn it off. Maybe that is some thing SCS could add as part of a DLC ?

DeleteIt is called cruise control with speed limiter. Google it for more details. Comes on a lot of new cars now, and is increasingly being seen on trucks. I know it is on the Scania R730 as I have been driving one for the past three weeks.

In STDS I was driving behind another truck and suddenly his trailer jumped up and then sank away in the ground. When I drove into his trailer ( just to see what would happend ) my truck did a double loop.

ReplyDeleteI think if you are going to do the DLC-s for ETS2, then the first one should include new trucks, that aren't in the game at the moment:
- Mercedes-Benz Actros mp4
- Iveco Stralis Hi-Way
- New Volvo FH16
- New DAF XF
Don't start with the extention of the map at first. It is big enough for us to have hours and hours of enjoyable gameplay.
Or maybe, you could do a combo DLC. Like releasing a one new truck and at the same time giving us for example the completed map of Poland. I may like this variant even more than the first one.

DeleteRegarding DLC, I don't want to use a credit card or paypal to pay for DLC. Instead I would have prefered to buy an extended version of ETS 2 for 60 € with all future DLC included. That version obviously isn't available, because SCS Software needs good sales first to later make some add-ons.
