Stabilizing the 1.4.x patch has been taking a lot of work, and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the open beta testing. Several problems were discovered with your help, and the dev team certainly appreciates all the useful feedback and inspiration from you.
The eventual process and system of future open betas still needs some thinking, but these initial results are promising, so we'd like to ask you for help one more time.
We have created another "release candidate" for the final 1.4.x line patch. To the best of our knowledge, it addresses all major issues that we still left in 1.4.1, so if you are already using this version of the game and it works ok for you, updating to 1.4.6 isn't much of a danger, in fact it should still offer some stability improvements.

ETS2 is a freely downloadable game that can be used with limited functionality for free.
As far as I have understood reading the forum, the beta patches can only be applied to games with valid license keys.
So please take some time to think next time you want to accuse anybody of something. And by the way : It's 'the' and not 'teh'.

The patch updates are really smoothing out the stutters since the map has been sectioned. I have one difficulty- If mods cause major changes in the process that the starting point of the save needs to be at another garage to safely start from, Why so far away from the last save was made. I was placed in England from Germany. Why not give us a choice of safe areas to choose from. Your team are tops in my game and wish all the hard efforts pay you rewards you have earned. This game has put my train sim and fsx sim on the shelf to gather dust after 6 years of daily usage,keep up the dedicated improvements for the tops in a game sim

I wrote to you on your FB page aswell. I really want to help submit bugs and be more involved. Love this game and the 1.4.x has been amazing to say the least, the game runs a million times better now. I see some people here that really need to learn to read and understand that these test releases are just that, they will be out when ready, no point in constantly asking. Anyway, keep up the awesome work, I'm mindblown by the work you do, its rare to see developers doing what you are doing, hope more people see that and appreciate it!

hi hows it going just want to no if the mods will work with this new patch cause with 1.4.1 the oversize mod wouldnt work and also just asking are yas gonna put in like american trucks like mack and kenworths and such thanks.
ReplyDeleteafter testing the new patch, i like some tweaks in game, and the game doesnt seem to take huge fps hits when lights are turned on etc..

i created a new profile with NO mods
1..still stutters...grrrrrr
2..overall the fps seems to have stabalised, but again when hitting cities, toll booth etc the fps takes a big hit
this game engine must be hardcore as other games i have look amazing at 60FPS(v sync on)..but for a smooth 60FPS this has to goto low setting which look pitiful, high setting looks really good but when in the cities i can see and feel the difference when the frame rate drops
for me them 2 problems kill the game, i may take the game off the sytem again..
i know games are more graphically intensive, but i am not forking out 200 odd quid for just a graphics card
If you aren't willing to upgrade for a better gaming experience then its not SCS's fault. You cant hang on to the same hardware forever. You will need to upgrade eventually or just not be able to play games.

DeleteYes I read what you said. My computer plays 95% of PC games with everything at maximum settings 1080P with no problem too and I dont see any stutters or FPS drops.
DeleteI get stutters as well even with high end hardware, so he's not alone. Low frames can be excused by too high settings and/or too low hardware but these stutters are a problem somewhere in the code.
DeleteLoving your work guys. My only gripe so far is that the Hi-Way needs some work in terms of the dashboard display. I can barely see what is on the display and the speedometer isn't accurate for the UK version. For example I could be driving at 65MPH on the route advisor but the speedometer in the cab says I'm driving at 60MPH. If I wasn't using the route planner to check my speed I get fined constantly for speeding because the speedometer shows I'm doing slower than I actually am.
ReplyDeleteI think you guys really need to start taking into consideration just how big the modding community is. Ever since you have been releasing the patches, you screw the community over every time. You have such a big following for such a niche game you really do not want and i would imagine you cannot afford to lose them. I love the new features you have put in the patch and i think im one of the lucky ones as my save games work. Many of my friends don't. How about you stop rushing patches out and go through them a bit more and iron out the kinks? Sure there maybe still a few bugs and that can be forgiven. But not as many as are currently being included!

The fact is the SCS allows for modding. That does indeed not mean that SCS should limit whatever changes the are doing to the game. Ity is up to the mod writers to change their mods to interact correctly with the game.

Maybe you still haven't read that patches 1.4.3 through 1.4.6 are beta-test pathces?
Do not install any of them if you do not want to participate in beta testing.
You can't exactly say that patch 1.4.1 was rushed out. It took a long time before it came, but still there were some bugs. SCS has worked 24/7 since it was discovered that 1.4.1 wasn't quite up to par. Giving us, the users, the opportunity to install beta test patches to help speeding up the bug finding.
Getting back to mods. World of Warcraft has a much bigger add-on community than ETS2 has modders, but still with every patch that comes out, all the add-ons stop working. So back to updating the add-ons. And here we're talking about roughly 10 million people world-wide playing the game. With all due respect, I do not belive that ETS2 has quite reached that number of players yet. Hopefully it will.
If you wich to be a modder, you must be prepared to correct/change/update your mods with every official patch that SCS releases. Not beta patches. You are not really supposed to use mods if you beta test something. Becuase then you don't know what causes the bugs you may find. And if you use mods, you must be prepared to lose them temporarily with every official patch. And also hope that the mod writer is still around to update the mod.
Mod usage is always, always, always the responsibility of the user. Never, never, never the responsibility of the original game writer.

ReplyDeleteThat is not a bug. This is like real traffic. Stupid, reckless drivers are very much a fact of real traffic. And people do make hazardous overtakings.
DeleteSo not a bug. You just have to pay more attention when it happens, as you normally will be able to avoid the crash if you react quickly enough. You may have noted, that the car coming at you always stop before hitting you. So you need to stop - or go to the (other) side of the road - before hitting the stopped AI car

It is also worth mentioning that you have included the new Iveco Hi-Way which is nice, however the dash is unreadable! and you haven't included it in the AI?! Not to mention the speedo is out by 5mph as oppose to the route adviser. You have got to sort this out surely? My one main gripe about this game, why are the 6x2 chassis so freaking long? it looks ridiculous and totally unreal! how about you sort that for the next patch? I think you need to get ETS2 sorted guys, at the moment you are ruining it.

I Rebuild(Recompute) my old map from vs 1.3.1 to 1.4.1 ,it's working ok...but...it won't read properly MAP on start game when player take some town for start and in game too, a lot of my models which I have put in the game won't read (and I must find every place where I have this stuff, put in there again and it is working or it read and put something else on the same place...but anyway, this version is better and faster, for sure !! Great job.

when i updated the game from version 1.3.1 to 1.4.1 i am experiencing a problem as when i am in a middle of delivery , the game suddenly stops and it took me to home page .. please can any one tell me how to solve this problem .
ReplyDeleteActually if you upgraded to 1.4.1, you should go to the forum at forum.scssoft.com and find the beta test patch for version 1.4.6. It is only a beta patch, but it should be very close to the next official patch hopefully. The problem you are mentioning has not been solved in any of the beta test patches as people are still reporting it even in patch 1.4.6. It seems it has to do with auto saves in the game. The suggestions I've read so far say that you should save your game every 7 to 8 minutes. That way you might prevent so many autosaves, and if an autosave deletes your cargo/trailer, you can go back to your last save to continue from there.

quiero reportar problemas, el ultimo en un peaje de mets donde las barreras se han quedado blokeadas, en dresden los semaforos se quedaron en rojo y no abrian, aparecen de pronto camiones de la nada en plena autovia y estan detenidos o a baja velocidad con lo que te estrellas, desaparece la carretera segun pasas, esto me paso en liverpool, si pongo las emisoras para la musica se queda blokeado sin mas y te estrellas, todo esto me pasa desde ayer cuando instale la actualizacion ayer a 1.4,tambien dire que hay mejoras apreciables y que por supuesto me gusta lo que hacen,mi felicitacion desde españa.saludos

Again the iveco hi way has no interior dashboard lights other the gps and the main panel its runing my game as i do most of my driving at night time and love the truck but no interior dashboard lights means i wont use such a great truck .

Hmmmm. What does that tell me? It may be a bug - not related to playing illegal copies of the game.
Tell me something else. How does the illegal copy, this poster allegedly plays know that it is an illegal copy so it can make the trailers disappear? And why is there a work-around posted on the forum for this bug? If this is only experienced by thieves, why would there be a work-around on the official SCS forum?
I don't doubt that there are numerous illegal copies out there, but it may just happen that this poster doesn't play one of those.

Did you noticed, that SCS did not confirmed that bug? On the forum is only rant of frustrated players. And some pseudo advices. They will never fix it 'cause it is not bug.

SCS, please, in your next patch ad some greek radio stations.
ReplyDeleteYou can add your own radio stations to the game. You don't have to only use what SCS had put in there. Just as you can add your own music library playing MP3-files if you don't want to listen to the radio stations.

DeleteWell. I don't recall the exact format, but there is a 'readme.rtf' file in the ETS2 library in 'Your Documents'. It explains how to add radio stations. You will ofc. have to know the internet settings for the channels you want.

DeleteI will take a shot : When you get a job you will be given a load on a trailer. Take this load to where it is supposed to go. Ghen deliver the load and get your 'reward'. If you have taken any damage to the load before it is delivered, your 'reward' will be smaller as they penalty will be deducted.
To 2nd poster. Please don't post any more about disappearing trailers. Otherwise 'Buy teh game, moron' will just tell you to 'Buy teh game, moron'. And that is no good.
Go to the official forum. Read posts there. Make your own posts there. But I'm sure there is no need for any mre posts about disappearing trailers.

I solve the problem.I think it's a bug.I usually play 4th camera.So I cant hear the retarder sound.When I change the camera to 1st i hear the retarder sound.In 1.3.1 i hear the retarder sound on all cameras.Please, can you fix this problem, because I love the retarder sound and I love th 4th camera :))In fact the engine sound beat the retardar sound so we cant hear it.

Again the iveco hi way has no interior dashboard lights other the gps and the main panel its ruining my game as i do most of my driving at night time and love the truck but no interior dashboard lights means i wont use such a great truck . Love the game but please fix this bug ive ive seen im not the only one who has reported this problem .
