Hot Fix Update and Scandinavian License Plates

Greetings,

Today just a very short update. We have just released a hot fix update 1.18.1.3 for Euro Truck Simulator 2. It includes several general game fixes.


Fixes are:
  • fix for occasionally appearing triangle flickering
  • fix for missing geometry on some Windows XP configurations
  • Scandinavian countries license plates are added to World of Trucks


It took us a while longer to collect all loose ends after Scandinavia release. One of such finishing touches were country license plates for Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

All three countries license plates are currently available for customization for your trucks, as always, via the World of Trucks website.

    The swedish plate is wrong, it would be for example BJD 571 not GS 6H7 (for example)
    So Hope you fix it

      I agree it was clumpsy of them to put an incorrect plate here but it works just fine in WoT. A really nice edtition would be a generator for it!

      You can add whatever you want. They just added an example with "Alive". There's nothing to fix.

      That error of a wrong license plate which has been correctly decoded as "alive" seems quite void to me if you read the letters on the other plates too ;)
      Correct: Rigids are alive :D

      If you don't like rigid truck it's ok. But a lot of people are waiting for it since the beginning of ETS. Please add a post in the blog about rigid trucks. How you gonna do it (add to ETS2 or new game?) and when.

    Ok, nice! Did you fix steering problem with 6x4 chassis after 1.17 update? I think this bug is imoprtant problem than plates and same things.

      I agree, and maybe adding Miskolc as the 3rd biggest city of Hungary (between the M3 motorway and the Hungarian-Slovakian border)? Or maybe more?

      Actually Sweden no longer uses the tax sticker (mid rectangle) on the plates and also changed the plates to remove the gap.

      The DK plates do look like that, only it's not possible to get custom yellow plates IRL. That's reserved for white plates (cars) and costs a fortune. It does do the right number format for the plates that were already in the game. Only now they have the right EU sticker.

      Even if Sweden don't use this anymore , it sgill lack it on Polish plate , same for Land/Inspection roundel on german one , kantons coat of arm on swiss , etc..

      Additional comment about the DK plate: Danish number plates can only contain a combination of up to 7 letters/numbers, not 8 as shown above. This limit is also in effect on custom plates.

    When will you fix the speed limit error on Swedish country roads? The maximum speed limit for trucks is 80 km/h on both motorways and country roads. And (not sure if it's implementable, but) it should even be 90 km/h on motorways while driving without a trailer.

      Trucks are only limited to 90 km / h, although there are some owners who restrict their trucks to 80-85 km / h. Which is called an environmentally friendly speed restrictor. I work in Volvo as a truck mechanic and I have done this on many trucks.

    Hm even though this one might be close to the original I hoped for a new Actros engine sound (inside the drivers cab). When not accelerating to the max it sounds like an electric bicycle combined with some wind-noise. For me this is extremely irritating and gives me the feeling of a sound-bug. Not even talking about the lack of "truck-feeling".

      That's how modern trucks sound... go down to your local Mercedes truck dealer and ask for a test drive. Unless you have the window open you can't really hear the engine at all. Same goes for the 2015 Volvos. Haven't been in any of the others, but assume they're going the same route.

      Had one of the 2015 Actros drive by on the street the other day and I couldn't hear the engine over the other traffic. I'd say they got the sound right.

    Have you fixed the wrong and misplaced swedish and danish road- and tollbooth signs in Norway now then??

    Example 1: At tollbooths it says "Mønt" = danish - should be "Mynt".
    Example 2: Some "sharp turn" signs are blue and yellow = sweden - should be black and yellow.

      Nope, the Swedish "sharp turn" signs are blue and yellow in Sweden. For many years ago, they were dark blue and yellow, maybe that's why you missed it?

      Try reading my post one more time and pay much closer attention to my first paragraph, where I am clearly pointing out that some road- and tollbooth signs IN NORWAY are wrong.

      I'm sorry if my example 2 was not clear enough..
      I was trying to say that some "sharp turn" signs IN NORWAY have swedish colors, blue and yellow. They should be black and yellow.

    Good good. I expect to see tandems, rigids + full trailer and the possibility to have a dolly in game to be used along with a semi. High expectations here, not poor stuff, please. Tandems are already part of the game so add more challenge.

    The signs pointing where to drive, like the round ones before a roundabout are too low. They should be much higher, in Sweden. You know the signs with a arrow pointing right down. (angled)

    My suggestions for further updates of ETS 2:
    - Refresh Germany and UK
    - More intense road Network in and round the cities (for example Oslo, Stockholm and Göteborg would be perfect with more roads for more realism - City-roundtrips with Coaches would be great ...)
    - Add more cities to Poland and Hungary
    - Add more cities to UK and Scottland
    - DLC Italy, France, Spain and Portugal
    - DLC Iireland
    - Scandinavia is amazing! It would be perfect with the North part of Scandinavia (Trondheim, Tromso, Hammerfest, ...)
    - More cities in Denmark

      Great ideas , but I don't think that all of that will come....I think it's realistic if they would make a dlc of Spain and Portugal...and yes maybe to finish Hungary for free with 2 or 3 more cities.
      Ireland would also be nice. I hope that the new trucks will come in the near future...very looking forward to the Renault T Range and the MAN TGX Euro 6

      Yeah. It would be good if they could give Ireland as a free update, like they did with Klagenfurt, Graz etc. but I think the country is too large (for a free addition) so it's unlikely.

    theres a few things im not happy with, AI dont respond to anything. horns sound like crap pulled from the opensource freeweb, and automatic gearboxes do not stay in drive/revers when ALT-TABing out of the game and finaly the camera under mouse control means it moves. please fix thse for 1.19

    I had an idea. In the game ther are already fuel trailers. What about setting petrol stations as destinations for fuel trailers? You have already done such things, for example the Volvo and Scania trucks. Here you wouldn't even have to create new trailers.

    Hi SCS, I am loving the new north expansion pack & the three new country's are really beautiful, my fav being Denmark but as am driving round the rest of the maps there is a big difference in graphics for the rest of Europe compered to the north country's and would love to see the same graphics used on the rest of the map too, I know you worked really hard on the north country's but it would be nice to see the rest of the map in the same detail, also I think it would be a nice add on to bring in xenon HID lights for better visibility, these conversion kids can give up to 300% better visibility in real life and I have see them in other games so it seems possible, most mods for xenon just change the colour of the lights and don't help in visibility just a idea, Over all the new country's looks great and thanks for continuing on making the game better

    This update actually bugged my game, when starting my main savegame I get the an error saying I'm missing a DLC, which is weird, I even checked all DLC's, they are all installed through Steam, even checked the installation folder.. Going back to 1.18.1 fixes the problem... Hope someone from SCS reads this..

    Hi. Please guys introduce in the new update the braking system.
    My friends told me that it would be better and more real if you will introduce the braking system.
    We will be very happy if you could introduce the braking system in all the trucks from ets2.
    THANK YOU IF YOU READ MY COMMENT AND PLEASE INTRODUCE THE BRAKING SYSTEM IN ALL THE TRUCKS IN THE NEW UPDATES. ETS2 WILL BE MUCH COOLER !!!!!!
