Willkommen in Berlin! Today, we have a preview for our #BestCommunityEver of the reworked capital city of Germany. Without further ado, let's take a look at what's in store in the next phase of this rework project.
As the capital and largest city of Germany both by area and by population, Berlin is one of the largest projects completed by our rework team. Renowned for its exceptional range of landmarks, vibrant cultural scene, and its place in history, it attracts the most tourists over all other cities in Germany.
Truckers delivering to this reworked city can look forward to driving both around and through Berlin, including a new route that travels alongside the famous Brandenburg Gate, Blauer Obelisk, Victory Column, and University Island with plenty of stunning landmarks. But that is not all, as we could not leave out St. Mary's Church, the Fernsehturm (Television Tower), and Alexanderplatz, so keep an eye out for these iconic places too.
We also had to adjust and enlarge the ring road around Berlin, which is now a respectable fourteen in-game kilometres long. We also completely revamped two intersections in the city to better represent reality and added a brand-new one which will lead you to a new car factory inspired by its real-life counterpart.
For the industries represented in Berlin, we have decided to separate them into two areas. In the northern part of the capital city, you will find a chemical plant, oil storage, and container plaza which are all part of the historic buildings included in the port.
When going to the southern part of the city, you'll pass by the Messe Berlin area (Trade Fair Grounds) which has also been recreated along with the Internationales Congress Centrum, a stunning futuristic building. Apart from that, you will find a purchasable garage there as well as tranquil housing neighbourhoods located alongside the river.
Berlin was the last German city we had to rework which means that all the cities in the Germany Rework project are now done! We will keep you updated about other ETS2 news and the Germany Rework project as well on our social media (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok), so make sure to follow us there.
