Euro Truck Simulator 2 retail edition update 1.13 is ready

The recently released update 1.13 for ETS2 is now available for retail users on the ETS2 update page.

The main feature of this update is support for Steam achievements. Achievements aren't available in the retail version, so if you want to add this bit of additional challenge to the game, you will need to activate your retail key on Steam. We've published instructions on how to do it on the World of Trucks site.

  2. Despite all the moaning (or even abusive and disrespectful) comments made here by many people, I want to thank you for yet another free update for this great game. We already know there is more to come as well, so I can't see why people would bitch at your company and/or work. Keep up the good work and thanks again.

  3. Good move SCS, I think some players don't know how to do it and even they didn't know that they have a chance to do it.

  6. Dear SCS Software,

First of all, I really like ETS 2. But since I've downloaded update 1.12.1, I found some glitches with the AI traffic.
The glitches I found were things like: jumping trucks when they crash into an obstacle, and 'out of control' cars.
This means, when I'm driving on the motorway for example, the car in front of me is swaying into the next lane and back for no reason, and because of this, something even more worse happened; they've crashed into my trailer! Which brought back valuable XP points.
I don't know whether other players also experienced the same thing, so my question to you (SCS Software), to somehow fix this. Coz it's it shouldn't happen, plus it's very annoying too.

I would like to wish you a good day/future with great games. That said, while others pushing you guys to the limit to work as fast as possible, I would better prefer you to slow down (a lot) and take the time you need and deliver a good result, rather than speeding everything up and delivering 'half baked' games, which are rubbish. An example of this was the release of ETS 2 itself back in 2012, where there were several bugs.
I hope you could convince the other players with this proposal, because it's not only good for yourself, but also the players and the game itself.

    Best Regards,
    Raymond from Holland

    1. Sometimes developer can't find all bugs in the game when he is launching it. The best way to do it is to give it to the players. It's not that silmple if you have e.g. 15 people who is testing it but when have 1000 peopole they will test it faster. SCS has fix this problem using Steam beta version. If you want, you can help to test it, if you not you don't. In my opinion it's better to launch it faster because if it's almost finish it is hard to find bugs to someone who was doing the game.

    3. Qbol from Poland,
I'm playing ETS 2 on an offline computer, so I can't join any beta through Steam. Other than that, I think SCS has road my experience, though they said in a blog they've road the comments, what we're saying. So I hope they've road this and make a note of it, to see if they can fix it in the next update.

      Jonny Buchanan,
I can do that, but it's a bit thrown away, because I've been working hard already to achieve level 15 (!) The only mod's I use is an HDR mod and ProMods. And ProMods was later activated than the latest update (1.12).

  7. Excellent work, SCS you are the best. ETS 2 — the only game that I want to play now and again.
And I have some questions, please answer them:
    1. How much will be game cost with DLC Scandinavia and the Going East together?
    2. As you look about finishing map of the EU, namely to add Portugal, Spain, southern France and continue Italy to the south, including up to Rome? Just Rome is very important.
    3. When will be present new Mercedes Actros and Renault T-series? Very interesting.
    4. And are you planned discount on the game and DLS on the new year?
    Thank you!
And what your opinion about facelift MAN TGX Euro-6?

  10. Thank you. Today I'm using steam because I wanted to use all the resources available in ETS2. But I still keep a copy of the updates because nothing is forever.

  11. Thanks. I like the new Quicksave. That beats having to go to the menu to do a save for those "just in case" happenings in the game.
Does anyone know what "Cruise control speed limited to truck speed limit speed (if enabled)" is? Because when I turned the speed limiter on, and it still only prevents the truck from exceeding 90kp/h/55mph. :-/

  13. Many people ask as in my case a version with more cities to the level of France and Italy and the creation of cities in Spain and Portugal because many people like to have this version while creating cities in Scandinavia to be a great game ... I loved that added it. Many thanks and keep up a great job

  14. I don't know the other player, but after update I get message- "Missing DLC"!
Steam version has the DLC "High Power Cargo Pack"! Now my game saves should start from back in time, losing many many KM:s I have drive on.... I am sad!

    1. That's strange. When I connect my copy to Steam I needn't to have "High Power Cargo Pack". Try to click your right mouse button on the ETS2 in the stream and than properties (it should be the last one on the list). Than you have bookmark DLC. If you didn't buy HPCP deselect it. When you are doing the operation with connecting your box version to the Stream remember about making backup of your profile. It is saved in my documents folder -> Euro Truck Simulator 2. When I did the operation with Steam, the profile was like in normal version, nothing has been changed.
