It's time for us to get ready for the SCS On The Road season 2020, and we cannot wait to get travelling again. Each visit to a different location presents the opportunity for us to meet people from our community, as-well as meet with new and existing industry representatives which could lead to potential future collaborations and releases.
We are excited to announce that for 2020, we plan to travel to a variety of industry and gaming exhibitions around the world. You can expect us to be on the show floor, however in some cases it might not be exhibiting with our SCS Sim Trailer or booth, but walking the show floor, so be sure to keep an eye out for us in our trademark ETS2 or ATS T-Shirts!
The first stop on our Calendar takes us to the Mid-America Trucking Show, which we last visited in 2016 (where did the time go?) shortly followed by our first ever trip to Truck World Canada to meet with various industry contacts, but we hope to meet many of you from our community too.
If you are planning to attend any of these events, be sure to let us know! Our team would be more than happy to say hello, have a chat, and take a selfie. You may even receive some ETS2 or ATS swag as a gift. However please keep in mind that some of these events are still being planned, and that changes may be made to our schedule, which will be sure to inform you of on our blog and social media channels.
Last year we also enlisted the help of some of our local fans willing to help us on some of these events. We think it's a great way to connect with a few of our most loyal fans and offer them a very unique (and also paid) experience.
If you would like to become a part of our crew for a weekend, please let us know. Successful candidates must be 18+, native speakers of the region of the given event, have great social skills, knowledgeable players of our games and active members of the fan community, ideally with a history of involvement with our betas, or perhaps recognised creators from the modding community.
If you are free for two days of your time, have the skill and the passion to become a "roadie" and become join our crew, please get in touch with us by mail on this address.

Renault Trucks T Range
Everyone probably knows what's coming - at least everyone who saw any part of our hint and tease campaign on social media coordinated with Renault Trucks. So let's say it out loud - the wait is over! There were many hurdles to overcome to get here, but from this moment on, the Renault Trucks T Range is officially available in Euro Truck Simulator 2!
We absolutely loved your reactions since the first teaser post and we'd like to confirm that, as many of you had wished, the T Range in the game has a wide variety of configuration options. It comes with 2 cabins, 6 chassis, 6 engines, 7 transmissions, 5 interiors and a load of accessories! The T Range will be the third member of the Renault Trucks family in our game. Just as it is a true game-changer in the real-world, we foresee many Renault Trucks fans making the T Range their primary truck right away!
The T Range comes as a free addition for every owner of the game; if you update the game on Steam (which may or may not require a restart for some users), it will automatically be downloaded. Be sure to opt-out of any beta branches first!
The screenshots and video here are just appetizers for those who can't play right away, as we're sure that those who can will be sitting in their very own brand-new T Range pretty soon! Those still not persuaded to try it out should watch our stream (on Twitch and Steam) with Alex (LondonLad) and Oscar at 15:00 UTC (17:00 CEST) and they'll change your minds!

Recording Truck Sounds in the USA
This summer there were multiple SCS Software teams traveling the globe to attend various events, meet the community, or explore new options for the company. As of today, another crew just appeared in the US to record the sounds of as many trucks as possible! They're going to spend a week in Allentown, PA and move to Lisle, IL next, but they are thinking of improvising further to visit more locations if needed.
We have some solid arrangements to record and photograph several trucks, but we thought it may be a good idea to consult additional options with the fan community. Do you have access to a truck on the list below? Would you be willing to spend a day with our recording team? Or do you know anyone who would? Or any other way to get access to a truck for a day? Then contact our manager Miroslav Zubina (miroslav.zubina@scssoft.com) please, and let him fill you in on the details of what we are looking for and when we may be around!
These are the configuration we'd like to get for recording:
These are the configuration we'd like to get for recording:
Mack Anthem
Engines: MP7 - 11 litres/ MP8 - 13 litres
Exhaust: Under Frame/ Dual Vertical
---
International LoneStar
Engines: Cummins X15 engine
---
International 9900i
---
International LT
---
New Volvo VNL
---
Freightliner New Cascadia
Engines: DD13/ DD16/ Cummins X15
Exhaust: Dual Vertical/ Under Frame (at least those with vertical exhausts)
And besides the above, we want to record ANY truck which can be found on American roads, if time allows it - you never know when these sounds might come in handy! So write to Miroslav if you have got one and think we can meet.
Keep in mind that this isn't meant as any kind of assurance of what comes next; when and in what order. But at least you know we're working hard to get more trucks for both of our games - so next time someone says we're giving more love to one of them, you'll know better!

A real-life story
We are always excited and humbled at the same time when we hear that our games have profoundly and positively affected the lives of our fans. Marcus Armstrong sent us his story:
To everyone at SCS Software, especially those dealing with Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone involved, even though you have kind of lost a player.
I use to be an avid fan of the series playing Euro Truck Simulator, UK Truck Simulator and then both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, investing in steering wheels, Track IR and gear sticks for my PC.
Two years ago the company I worked for had been turning in a direction I was not overly comfortable with. I felt that it was moving away from its core values and what defined it as unique and I started considering an exit strategy. This exit strategy becomes more important when, out of a team of three, one of us had to take voluntary redundancy.
As the youngest team member in my mid-thirties, I decided that I would be in the best position to get started a new career, a career in different industry as I was a little burnt out doing what I was doing. I needed to be able to get into an industry where I could retrain quickly and earn what I was earning before, or more. I ended up, within a two month period, passing both HGV Class 2 and then Class 1 license. By the third month, I had a job with R.T. Keedwell which I have been doing for the last couple of years, driving a Mercedes Actros MP4 (which I am currently writing this from a truck stop for the night, good ol' Hotel Mercedes).
So why am I thanking you guys and gals at SCS? Well out of several industries I had been trained in; Web Dev, 3D Animation, Administration and Finance, it was ETS2 and ATS which I had enjoyed playing so much that I decided to take out a loan to cover the training costs and then base not just my career on, but my lifestyle as well, I am a Trucker (even grew the beard). I'm currently racking up 2500km a week driving all over the UK where no two days are quite the same and I meet countless people from the companies we haul for and other drivers.
SCS, you gave me the inspiration to venture out into a career I had never would have thought of and now love doing. So again, a huge heartfelt thank you and keep up the good work!
Marcus A.
Trucker nameplate "4 1/2 Days"
Thank you, Marcus, we are so happy for you! We wish you all the best and safe returns from your hauls.
Marcus is actually an Actros driver as you could notice from the text and photo. What a lucky coincidence - conveniently, we happen to have a very related project in the very final stages of development. More information will be available really soon.

SCS On The Road: Truckstar Festival, Assen
The FIA ETRC event at Nürburgring was a blast and we're sending a virtual high-five to everyone who visited us at the fan village with the company GRAMMER. While our crew is still full of the German Grand Prix event's atmosphere, there is no time to waste as we set our GPS to another destination. This time - the famous Truckstar Festival in Assen, Netherlands which takes place this weekend on the 27-28th of July!
And we'll be there with our full parade! That means if you're going to visit this amazing event full of show trucks, delicious food, cold drinks and all-day entertainment for the whole family, you'll have the opportunity to witness and enjoy the hospitality of our SCS Sim Trailer, its crew and two of our 4D Motion Seats.
So make a note in your calendar for this weekend and stop by our place, it's an experience you'll never forget. And who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough to walk away with a T-shirt or other piece of our merchandise for free.
And if you can't make to this event but would like to stay with us, at least through the online realm, then make sure you'll keep an eye on our social media channels of Twitter and Instagram as our onsite crew will keep you in touch.

SCS On The Road: Legendy 2019
Our 'On the Road' crew is currently in full preparations for the upcoming Truckfest Peterborough event but we'd like to already inform you about the next event we'll be participating in right after our return from the United Kingdom. And that's going to be the local, Prague-based event of Legendy 2019.
When we were thinking about which events should be our destinations for 2019 we wanted to try something new for our local fans. This event is quite popular in our country for all those who love cars, trucks, bikes and other wheeled machines. For this year the organizers create a special and dedicated section to the "Made in the USA" theme in which we'll take our part as well.
You'll be able to see some legendary American nose trucks, shiny chopper bikes, American muscle cars, crazy stunts and surely much more. And our SCS Sim Trailer, along with our crew and 4D Motion Seats, will be placed among all this. This time designed more into the ATS style to fit in perfectly. But who knows, maybe we have another good but not so obvious reason for this as well? ;-)
This event will be held from 17th to 19th of May, 2019 and located in Prague, Czech Republic. It's the same weekend during which our office will participate in the Open House Prague festival. So if you plan to visit our home you can easily combine these two events together and see also our Sim Trailer with its crew! We'd love to see you at both of these places!

Scania presentation at Science Center, Luleå
A few weeks ago a very interesting inquiry came from our friendly contact who works for Scania. Their team was about to open a dedicated booth in the 'Teknikens Hus', which is Sweden's northernmost nonprofit science center, or as they put it, a world of technology and an exciting place for the curious of all ages.
The science center sees around 100,000 visitors from around the world each year! Featured among the many exhibits is a Scania exhibition which is focused on the components of the truck, such as the rear axles and similar, which are manufactured in the city of Luleå. To represent the final finished product, they have also used a full-size real Scania truck!
Because the center receives a lot of visitors, including children of all ages, an amazing idea was conceived: to implement a special version of Euro Truck Simulator 2 into the cabin of the truck, and let the visitors experience what it is like to drive the vehicle on the road.
We're always open for such challenges and potential cooperation and even more so when it's for the good cause of children's education! We are happy to be able to configure a special build of our game according to their needs. And from the looks of things, it looks like the event was a great success and the visitors truly enjoyed the opportunity to try this unique combination of an actual Scania truck and our game.
Check out a few photos their team has sent to us. By the way, their booth is planned to be there for at least four years - so if you are around the area in the future, be sure to stop by.

Community Driver Seats #8
It has been some time since we shared your driver seats. And now that the latest 1.34 update is safely out, we'd like to share more photos of your driving rigs. Previous blog posts on this theme inspired some of you to build your own, according to discussions throughout various fansites so perhaps this one will inspire some more.
Regardless of if some parts are home-made or if everything is bought, all of these show great devotion to driving games, almost no need to get a real truck right?
Want to spare space at home? This guy shows us how it's done ;)
And it's time for some real creativity! Everything that can be bought can also be hand-made at home, and here's the proof!
This one, though....with this setup we'd be afraid to start Windows, let alone thinking about pushing the horn key. That said, we are not sure if people living six blocks away can hear your truck well enough ;)
Thanks to everybody sharing your photos with us - and for those who didn't and would like to, post them here on our forum, please. Also keep an eye out on our social media channels, such as our facebook and twitter for the latest news and announcements.

SCS On The Road 2019
A new year has started and it's time to plan a new season of our travel calendar. We would like to be even more active in traveling the world and visiting gaming and transportation industry expos and events. Ever since we built our custom SCS Sim Trailer, the impact factor that we can deliver on the various shows has grown massively! Being on the road allows us to meet many of you from our community and cross paths with a wide range of industry representatives which can lead to new and exciting opportunities.
Everywhere we visit, we are always met with positive responses. Especially if we bring along our Sim Trailer, we always have a lot of visitors interested in trying our games on our motions seats or wanting to meet up with our On The Road crew. And we love meeting you! That's why we thought it would be a good idea to inform our fan base in advance and to share with you our tentative events calendar.
And for 2019 we have a quite the list of 'to-visit' events. Keep in mind that some of these events are still being planned, and it may be that changes are made to our schedule. We cannot make it everywhere with the Sim Trailer, there are just too many places to go, packed too tightly in the calendar. We expect to organize some of the shows in partnerships with our friends from the transportation industry, but anyway, a core team from SCS should participate in all the events listed below. Keep an eye on our blog and social media profiles and we'll keep you updated.
Check out our current schedule below, we might be travelling to an event near you!
Last year we also enlisted the help of some of our local fans willing to help us on some of these events. We think it's a great way to connect with a few of our most loyal fans and offer them a very unique (and also paid) experience.
If you would like to become a part of our crew for a weekend, please let us know. Successful candidates are 18+, native speakers of the region of a given event, have great social skills, they should be knowledgeable players of our games and active members of the fan community, ideally with a history of involvement with our betas, or perhaps recognised creators from the modding community.
If you are free for two days of your time, have the skill and the passion to become a "roadie" and become embedded into our crew, please get in touch with us by mail on ontheroad@scssoft.com.

SCS On The Road: Broshuis Event
The New Year may have only just begun but the time has come once again, to bring together the SCS On The Road crew and wake up our Sim Trailer from a deep sleep!
Next stop - Broshuis Event 2019 in Kampen, Netherlands! It's going to be the 5th edition of this full public available event where visitors are able to walk along the factory and witness all the process of how the Broshuis Holland trailers are being made from the start to the very last detail.
Those who carefully follow our Twitter and Instagram profiles surely know that we've already had a few meetings with representatives of the Broshuis B.V. company during the year of 2018. We imagine that all of this cooperation raises a lot of questions, but we don't want to spoil anything specific just yet.
The message for today's article is we'd like to announce that we'll be at this event with our unique trailer along with its crew, 4D Motion Seats and a few boxes full of our own SCS merchandise to distribute as gifts to our fans! So if you're going to be somewhere around Kampen on Saturday the 12th of January - from 9.00 AM to 05.00 PM CET, make sure to stop by this event, find our spot and spend some time with us.

For the SCS On The Road 2019 season, we'd love to add a few events like this to our 'to visit' list. Transportation industry events organized, sponsored or run by specific companies are very interesting for us as to participate in them might open door to important contacts, start new cooperations, strengthen our current relationships with brands or establish our name among them.

SCS On The Road: Game Developers Session 2018
Starting tomorrow, for the third year in a row, we will be participating in the Game Developers Session 2018 event in our home town Prague. GDS is an annual game developer conference with the longest tradition in the Czech republic, dating back to 2003. It's getting bigger and better every year, and we are happy to support it as a Silver Partner.
Our own little version of GDC is two days of presentations and a small expo area to show the games. It's a great chance to have a chat with the fellow game developers from central Europe, listen to really interesting presentations from industry peers, and who knows, perhaps even hire some fresh and passionate blood.
We want to show off a bit, so we are bringing to the show not just our games, but also one of our 4D motion seats, and of course SCS Software's very own On The Road crew and a bunch of additional members of our teams. Also, two of our colleagues give an invited lecture - our CEO Pavel Šebor and ATS Map Design team lead Ondřej Dufek.
We have heard from a couple of people that you may be interested in checking out the recording of our Beyond the Baltic Sea release stream. We have it available for you below.

Beyond the Baltic Sea - Community Videos
The Beyond the Baltic Sea map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2, the latest and so far largest DLC we've developed, has been out for almost a week, and we're extremely happy and honored that it's been welcomed by our games' fanbase so well.
We would like to share with you some of the videos created by members of the truck sim community, reviewing the new map DLC.

There are dozens and dozens more, the newest member of our ETS2 family is getting a lot of attention on Youtube and Twitch. If you want to see more videos, there are more links appearing in the search results all the time: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ets2+beyond+the+baltic+sea.
Meanwhile, we are working on a small patch for the game and the DLC, to address several fortunately relatively minor glitches reported by the players in the past few days. We hope to get it to you in a couple of days.

SCS On The Road: PGA 2018
We are in a hurry to haul our Sim Trailer to the city of Poznań in Poland to attend the Poznan Game Arena 2018 gaming expo this weekend. We are looking forward to meeting our Polish fans there!
The logistics of the trip is pretty crazy. It's a long way from Jarama, Spain, and we have an extra complication to deal with. One of the custom steering wheels installed in the motions seats developed some sort of electronics problem (or so we think), and we need to make an extra stop half way to our destination to try to fix or replace it. If you have been to Master Truck Opole, you may remember all the fine dust in the air covering everything quickly. We tried to clean it all up, but it got pretty much everywhere, we are actually pleasantly surprised our hardware lasted this long. It's not all just fun and games, far from it; our On The Road team is working under very tough conditions. Fortunately, meeting the fans makes up for the stress on the road.
If you can make it to PGA to visit this big gaming event running from 12th to 14th of October, we will be fully ready for you. We will be showing our just-released ATS Oregon DLC, of course, but you may also see an exclusive glimpse of the upcoming ATS Special Transport expansion or Beyond the Baltic Sea map. Our friends at Polish distributor IMGN.PRO are very helpful in organizing our presence at PGA, and they are planning to experiment and set up a little merchandise shop alongside our regular show. If you can't be there with us, you are welcome to follow our daily feed on social media profiles on Instagram and Twitter where we'll be covering the show in real time.
As an appetizer, let's recap the previous event we have participated in - the FIA ETRC truck race at Jarama. The FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2018 is over now, the champions are crowned. Eights races in eight countries provided a ton of opportunities for us to get close to our fans, to get a lot of inspirations, and even to make some new friendships.
Here is a bunch of pictures taken during our stay at Circuito del Jarama for the final event of the ETRC 2018 season. We are sending our regards to Pedro of Pumizo3D - we are looking forward to seeing your video report from Jarama! Big thanks to our Spanish friend Ivan who was extremely helpful bridging the language barrier! This event wouldn't have been so great without you.
