“One thing that always amazes me about SCS Software is how well they capture the vibe of each state, and Louisiana feels like a wonderful and unique place to drive around. From the river-ferry crossings with their tailored cutscenes to the wildlife hiding in the swampy areas, the detail is really nice. Driving through New Orleans is a whole experience in itself! I’ve never been there in real life, but even at night the game makes it feel alive. One thing I love to look out for are the landmarks you can always discover, and in this case, you find murals scattered all over the map; they’re really solid representations of the real thing. "SCS Software has blown me away with the Louisiana DLC. Crossing that state line, it was clear that they did their research on the state. Capturing everything from the wetlands to the city landscapes. Driving through the winding bayous and across the bridges really brought out the overall feel for Louisiana. Cities like New Orleans, Lake Charles, and Baton Rouge are amazing. They put in so much detail. And the smaller towns made it feel like I was there. The industrial ports are massive! Crossing the river on the ferry alone is a super cool feature for this DLC. The sounds of Louisiana were not forgotten either. You can hear the wildlife in the background. The wait is finally over, and we’re mighty proud to welcome y’all to the Pelican State! The Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator is OUT NOW, and it’s time to roll where bayous, historic towns, and humid southern air awaits.

The Louisiana DLC is now released and available on Steam!

It’s been an exciting journey since we first announced that Louisiana was in development, and today we’re excited to release it to you, our #BestCommunityEver. With its legendary bayous, historic cities, unique industries, and a wide variety of hauling opportunities, there’s plenty to look forward to behind the wheel. To help you get your bearings, have a look at the full map of the DLC, showcasing the cities, towns, and roads waiting for you:

We’re also bringing several new custom depots and points of interest with this release, so be sure to read the full blog for all the details.

Make the most of your visit to the Pelican State and enjoy every moment as you:

• Explore 11 cities including New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport.
• See several landmarks such as the Baton Rouge Capitol, the Superdome in New Orleans, and the Gothic Jail in DeRidder.
• Truck through 11 scenic towns (settlements) like Abbeville, Bastrop, or Mansfield.
• Visit Avery Island featuring a famous hot chilli sauce factory.
• Venture into the Bayou region, a defining part of this southern state's identity.
• Drive across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway or the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.
• Discover and admire colonial architecture in cities such as New Orleans, Houma, and Lafayette.
• Immerse yourself in history along the banks of the Mississippi River and explore plantation complexes such as Oak Alley, Laura, and San Francisco.
• Deliver to unique industries such as LNG terminals and oil services.
• Visit several new custom depots in the form of timber harvest sites, river ports, and shipyards!

Louisiana has a diverse variety of industries ranging from agricultural production, fishing, and forestry to petroleum, gas, and coal. Thanks to this, drivers can haul plenty of different cargo types in and out of the Pelican State. We cannot overstate the importance of waterways in this state, especially its canal system and the crucial role its ports play, such as the port of New Orleans, which ranks among the busiest in the country in terms of volume of seaborne freight handled, so there is plenty of cargo to transport for everyone!

Get ready to hit the roads of the Louisiana DLC, there is so much to discover, explore and haul!

Cruising Louisiana World of Trucks Event

With the release of the DLC, we’re also kicking off a brand new World of Trucks event: Cruising Louisiana, which begins right at the moment of launch.

This event invites you to explore the new map, deliver cargoes to and from its many cities, and contribute to a community goal while earning special in-game rewards.

Rewards

• Personal: Players that deliver cargo to or from 10 Louisiana cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a Southern Wings ATS truck paint job Steam inventory item.

• Community: When the community goal of driving 125,000,000 miles is reached — and the player has completed their personal goal — they will receive a Golden South hanging ornament Steam inventory item.

And there’s an extra treat as well! Truckers who complete a job using External Contracts or the External Market TO or FROM Baton Rouge will be rewarded with the Boudreaux the Bear cabin plush Steam inventory item. Fluffy and filled with Louisiana bayou charm, this lovable bear is the perfect companion for your journeys across the new expansion!

Cruising Louisiana Event

Join us on Thursday, the 4th of December, to celebrate the release of our Louisiana DLC, with the newest World of Trucks event - Cruising Louisiana! Get ready to immerse yourself in the rich culture, soulful music, and deep-rooted history of the Pelican State.

Your mission? Haul cargo to or from any city in Louisiana and help the community reach a collective goal of 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km). With the strength of our #BestCommunityEver, we know you'll rise to the occasion!

During your #CruisingLouisiana journey, you'll traverse lush landscapes, winding bayous, and historic highways in the heart of the Deep South. From the vibrant streets of New Orleans to the industrial backbone of Baton Rouge, it’s time to put your driving skills to the test in one of the most culturally rich states in America.

As you travel through the Deep South, there are many must-see locations along your route, to name but a few:

• Lake Pontchartrain Causeway - This fixed link features two parallel bridges stretching across Lake Pontchartrain in southeastern Louisiana.
• Avery Island - A legendary salt dome and the birthplace of the world-famous hot chilli sauce.
• Port Fourchon - Louisiana’s southernmost port and key hub for offshore oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
• Oak Alley Plantation - A beautifully preserved historic plantation on the west bank of the Mississippi River.

And that's just the beginning - there's so much more to discover in Louisiana's uniquely diverse economy! 

Don't forget, you can use your own trailer and select jobs from the external market to participate also!

The Louisiana DLC features 11 cities to explore, with a special in-game reward waiting for those who complete deliveries to or from any 10 of them. All jobs for the event must cover a distance of 100 miles (161 km) long, or more.

Rules

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to drive 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Louisiana.

When a player completes a delivery to or from 10 different Louisiana cities, they will achieve their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 100 miles each (161 km), or more. 

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards

• Personal: Players that deliver cargo to or from 10 Louisiana cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a Southern Wings ATS truck paint job Steam inventory item.

• Community: When the community goal of driving 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km) during deliveries to or from any city in Louisiana is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a Golden South hanging ornament Steam inventory item.

Note: In order to qualify for any community reward, you must complete at least your personal goal in American Truck Simulator. Each reward will be a Steam inventory item for American Truck Simulator. Once completed, claim your reward in the Events page on your World of Trucks profile.

The event will be concluded on Sunday, the 8th of February at 23:59 UTC.

Louisiana: Avery Island + BIG In Louisiana

Located in Iberia Parish in southern Louisiana is Avery Island, one of the region’s unique locations, and today, we’re mighty excited to share more about this special location which has been brought to life in our upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator. Let's check it out!

Surrounded by swamps and bayous, Avery Island is known for its lush vegetation, live oaks and dense greenery, which our vegetation and asset teams have re-created virtually in detail. The area is also home to a whole host of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled whilst exploring the Island, because you may spot some wildlife, such as the Snowy Egret, White-tailed Deer and even the American Alligator! 

Avery Island isn’t just a natural retreat, it also holds a fascinating history. The island became home to the McIlhenny family in the mid 1800's, who developed pepper-growing and sauce-making traditions that would later earn worldwide recognition. 

This legacy continues to shape the island today, as Avery Island continues its long-running hot sauce production, which has played a key role in the area’s identity for generations. Its massive underground salt dome provided the essential mineral base for preserving and fermenting peppers, while the warm, humid climate above ground have created the ideal growing conditions for cultivating spicy varieties.

Over time, those working on the island have refined their methods, ageing their pepper mash in wooden barrels and developing techniques that would eventually spread far beyond the region. This long heritage has left an undeniable mark on the island’s culture, economy, and reputation as one of the most iconic hot sauce producing locations in the United States.

To represent this iconic and important industry within American Truck Simulator, we’ve recreated the industry with our in-game brand, Flavorfair, the island’s Food Factory, where you will be able to haul its well known hot sauce, Jalapeño, from Avery Island across the USA.

BIG in Louisiana 

Whilst the sauce is hot, if you're looking for a challenge that'll make you sweat in Louisiana, then maybe our new Special Transport routes are for you! Truckers who are ready to take on these mighty loads will find several new Special Transport job contracts. 

Whilst these routes have been carefully pre-planned by our dispatchers, you can expect there to be some challenging manoeuvres and scenic views on the road to your final destination. As always, trained escort teams and local police will assist in guiding you along the correct route, and where necessary, help block traffic to allow safe passage.

Think you've got what it takes? Special Transport DLC owners will find contracts on offer between the following cities: 

New Orleans to LaFayette
Lake Charles to Natchitoches
Shreveport to Baton Rouge
Houma to Port Fourchon

We’re feelin’ that excitement right along with y’all! To keep the momentum rollin’, we’ve gone ahead and released the official Louisiana DLC trailer on our YouTube channel. Crafted by our talented video folks, it gives you a true taste of the landscapes, landmarks, cities and hidden surprises this expansion has in store.
