In one of our previous blogs, we talked about the Hawkeye State being one of the largest agricultural producing states of the U.S. This is why we selected a route from a feedmill depot near Waterloo to a new depot our teams have developed for this map expansion - an Agricultural Facility - close to Iowa City. In this video, we take you on a beautiful ride from the city of Kirksville located in the northern part of Missouri along Route 63 through the Show Me State capital Jefferson City, and then further south to our destination in the underground warehouse in Springfield.

Heart of Russia - Gameplay Video #1

You’ve already seen several beautiful screenshots from the upcoming Heart of Russia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Inevitably, now comes the time to put it all together and present to you the very first gameplay video. Please relax, get some snacks or a drink to accompany you on this journey, and enjoy this short ride-along, covering a drive from Vyazma to Kaluga.

Please keep in mind, that everything you are about to see in this gameplay video is still very much in the 'WORK IN PROGRESS' phase.

It seems like the Heart of Russia DLC is shaping up great and our dedicated team is doing impressive work! Wyoming - Gameplay Video #2

It seems that we may have underestimated the horsepower of the hype train. With tens of thousands of views in less than 24 hours after releasing the previous gameplay video and hundreds of positive opinions shared in the blog comments section and the video itself (we counted it), it would be a shame to not reward our #BestCommunityEver with a second gameplay video for this great reception. So once again, grab a bucket full of popcorn, relax and this time enjoy the ride from Kemmerer Point of Entry to an area close to the Alpine Truck Stop.

Please keep in mind that while parts of this gameplay video routes through the States of Utah and Idaho, all content shown will be included in the Wyoming DLC.

Good news everyone! After releasing several articles related to the Wyoming map expansion and teasing you with a lot of beautiful images, we figured that in order to keep things moving, today may be the right time to bring out an actual gameplay video and add more fuel to the fire in the engine of the speeding hype train. Please sit down, get some snacks and enjoy this short ride-along in the upcoming Wyoming DLC, covering a drive from Riverton to Jackson, WY.

If you're still holding on to the hype train and not planning on falling off yet, be sure to add Wyoming DLC to your Steam Wishlist, and eventually you will all be able to drive through the same route on your own. Iberia: Gameplay Preview

It's time we take a closer look at our next upcoming DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, Iberia. We are starting off slow here, as we do not want to spoil the enjoyment of discovering the beauty of the peninsula for yourself.  

Take a seat in the position of the driver and join us as we drive from the port of Algeciras to Malaga! This gameplay video will also give you a first look at our new visual lighting system that is still a work-in-progress from a first-person view; let us know what you think!

Iberia & New Light System: Development Teaser

Yesterday, we approached you with news of a very important decision for us. While we are 100% sure we chose the right path, we were quite nervous about how the fan community will accept this mixed news. We went all-in on trust and hope that everyone will understand and follow our hard decision. Extending development time on a project is not a cheap adventure, but the Iberia team deserves the chance to fully realize their vision, and synchronizing the release with our new light system will give the map expansion a chance to truly shine. It is also very important that compressing both releases into a single testing cycle, any long-term effects on future releases are minimized.

We are grateful for and humbled by the response coming from our #BestCommunityEver. Thank you for once again reassuring us that we are in this together.

As we hinted yesterday, to make up for the shock of the initial announcement, we felt that we need to show you a bit more. So we rushed to come up with something literally overnight. Today we are happy to share a short development teaser video presenting a bit of the new light setup, coincidentally recorded at locations from an up and coming Euro Truck Simulator 2 map DLC. The team still has a ton of work ahead of them to adjust so many models and textures to the new system. We only have a few locations (and still subject to further tweaks) that are close enough to completion that we can consider them ready to be shown. So the teaser is rather short, but it should give you a very good idea of what kind of improvements the new light system will bring for both ETS2 and ATS with the 1.40 update.

Colorado Springs + Gameplay Video #2

Located at the foot of Pikes Peak, you'll find the city of Colorado Springs, the state's 2nd most populous city behind Denver. So what makes this part of the state so attractive to residents and tourists alike? Let's find out!

Colorado Springs is known for its many one-of-a-kind attractions, the most iconic being the city's Garden of the Gods Park, a National Natural Landmark. Featuring 300 million years worth of geological history and incredible towering red sandstone rock formations, it is no wonder it is ranked top of the list of best parks to visit in the US. In Colorado DLC you will have to find a hidden road that will take you there. We don't want to spoil your exploration with detailed screenshots of this place as we'd rather leave it for you to enjoy it with your own eyes first. Plus, the city itself has a lot of beauty to show too!

The city is also home to the United States Air Force Academy, which enrols thousands of cadets each year. You may able to spot some aviation history around the city, including the famous Airplane Restaurant where you can wine and dine inside a fully-intact USAF Aircraft tanker! 

But not every visitor to Colorado Springs is arriving for leisure, as drivers in our upcoming Colorado DLC for American Truck Simulator will find out. The city features many different industries large and small which support the local economy. From construction to food, truckers will find no shortage of jobs delivering to this scenic area. 

But don't take our word for it, see it for yourself! As a bonus for today's blog, we are excited to share with you some exclusive gameplay footage from another part of Colorado with a special surprise for our long-time fans along the way. Iberia: Fruit, Crops & Farms

The growing of fresh fruit and vegetables is an important industry for Spain and Portugal, so much so that both countries are among some of the largest producers and exporters in Europe. From oranges to avocados, Iberia provides the ideal growing conditions and space for farms to grow a wide variety of crops, fruits, and vegetables. 

In our upcoming Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, drivers will have the opportunity to transport and deliver a variety of equipment and produce within this important industry sector across Spain and Portugal. 

Iberia will also feature newly created prefabs to represent the wide variety of different farms that can be found in Iberia including large commercial farms and vineyards. However, there is one type of farm that may catch your eye on your travels.

Found largely concentrated in the south-east of Spain, are areas of farmland largely covered by white plastic greenhouses. This type of intensive farming has become increasingly popular across Iberia, as farmers can create ideal growing conditions in otherwise very dry and hot areas of the peninsula to grow vegetables and fruit.

Colorado: Million Dollar Highway

Colorado offers a long list of amazing landmarks for visitors and residents alike to admire and visit, but one specific area of this colorful state attracts drivers from across the world. 

Located in the southwest, the U.S. Highway 550 stretches between New Mexico and Colorado serving as a vital link between the two states. However, there is one portion of this route that is more famous than any other, the “Million Dollar Highway”… with a name like that it’s got to be impressive, right?

Offering views of mountains, valleys and gorges, the Million Dollar Highway is a road like no other. Stretching for around 25 miles (40 km) it has been said that it's one of the nation’s most spectacular drives (and for good reason too).  The highway delivers jaw-dropping vistas and stunning backdrops on its winding and often dangerous road. 

So why is this stretch of road named the Million Dollar Highway? There are several stories including that it cost a million dollars a mile to build it and that its fill dirt contains a million dollars in gold ore; either way, we are sure that this will become a popular route for truckers in our upcoming Colorado DLC for American Truck Simulator.

The First 5 Days of #CruisingIdaho

Five days ago, we released the latest expansion for American Truck Simulator, the state of Idaho. With its release, we also introduced a very special World of Trucks event for our community, the #CruisingIdaho event.

We wanted to set the community goal to a number which wouldn't put too much pressure on our players while hoping it would last for at least a week or two, but you, our #BestCommunityEver have smashed right through it and have left us speechless once again!

Your amazing support kicked the Idaho DLC to the first position in Global Top Sellers on Steam to steal a few minutes of fame from other big titles (sorry Death Stranding, but not sorry). Thank you so much for your support!

But that was not enough for you, because immediately thousands of you joined the #CruisingIdaho event and the community goal of 30,000,000 miles was completed on Sunday morning, which left us all astonished!

But please do not worry for a second! Because with the community goal finished, it doesn't mean that we are going to end the event anytime soon! We do not want to bring any pressure or make you feel like you have to hurry and rush through this new DLC to complete the personal goal to earn the rewards. Plus we know that many of our players are on their vacation, or simply enjoying the summer away from their rigs. You all can slow down your trucks a bit, open windows, let the fresh Idaho air come to your truck's cabin, and enjoy the view a bit.

 The event will conclude on the 16th of August, 2020, 23:59 UTC!

Idaho: Sandpoint to Lewiston Gameplay

It's time we take a closer look at our next upcoming state for American Truck Simulator, Idaho. We are starting off slow here, as we do not want to spoil the enjoyment of discovering the beauty of the state by showing you too much, too early.

Take a seat in the position of the driver and join us as we haul lumber from a harvest site near Sandpoint to a paper-mill factory in Lewiston. Let us know what you spot along the way!

Road to the Black Sea: Iasi to Târgu Mureș

It's time for us to start our engines and shift into gear for our upcoming release for Euro Truck Simulator 2, Road to the Black Sea on December 5th.

We are excited to share with you today gameplay footage from the eye of the driver travelling from Iasi to Târgu Mureș in the country of Romania. Can you recognise any areas or landmarks along the way? Some say you may even pass the legendary Piatra Teiului, which some locals claim changes places each night.
