Steam Awards 2020 Nominations

Today, the nominations for the annual Steam Awards are opening, along with the start of the Steam Autumn Sale. You may still remember that back in 2016, our incredible #BestCommunityEver was so active during the first year of Steam Awards, that our Euro Truck Simulator 2 managed to claim victory in two categories.

However, time flies, a lot of fantastic games have been added to the Steam library over the years, and many of them have rightfully accumulated massive fan-bases as well. Meanwhile, Valve adjusted the rules such that titles launched before 2019 can now be nominated in only one category - The Labour of Love, a category that reflects that a game still gets new updates and active support years after launch. This category will surely be very crowded! But still, we may give it a collective try, what do you think?

If you feel that either Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator deserves the Labour of Love award, or possibly at least some buzz and visibility for being nominated and in the category, we will appreciate your vote and support. You can cast your vote by heading to this year's Steam Awards Nominations page.

#CruisingColorado Event Update

It took our #BestCommunityEver only 7 days to drive 60,000,000 miles in the currently ongoing #CruisingColorado World of Trucks event to pass the community goal. We are left speechless once again. Actually, you guys and gals have reached it so quickly we might even ask you to show us your cabin logbooks to check if you have had your regular driving breaks?!

Don't worry, we're just joking here. But it's always cool and motivating to see how fast and easily our fanbase can smash the "quests" we set for them. And how many of you are always ready to immediately join the events we create for you. We also love seeing all your tweets and posts under the #CruisingColorado hashtag over at any social media challenge we monitor. Want some number? Well, so far there have been posted more than 1100 tweets on Twitter and 280 posts on Instagram!

According to the reactions and feedback upon the rewards which can be claimed in this event, for both personal and community goals, we guess you really like the new paint job and hanging cabin accessory. Don't forget to share how it fits your favorite truck!

Even though we tried to explain it in our previous blog posts and communication over at our social media channels, we still have received some questions about the date till when this event is going to be kept active, or requests to not end this event even while the community goal is already reached. So please let us say it again here - you do not need to worry, because we will keep the event running until well after Christmas, so there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the ride while earning your rewards.

Freightliner Cascadia® Announcement

Over the past weekend, we put out a teaser video hinting at a new and upcoming truck that will arrive for American Truck Simulator. Many of our avid fans have immediately identified the make and model of the truck. The hype is real; with the awesome support from Daimler Trucks North America, you will soon get to drive the most popular truck on US' roads!

Introducing the Freightliner Cascadia® for American Truck Simulator

To quote Freightliner's sales literature, "The Cascadia® is the most advanced on-highway truck Freightliner has ever offered. With more than one million hours of R&D and millions of miles of real-world testing, the Cascadia® is the result of sustained, concentrated investment in the future of trucking. Advanced aerodynamics help it slice through the air and boost fuel efficiency. Freightliner reimagined the Cascadia® interior, starting with the dashboard, which features an all-new instrument cluster and automotive-style steering wheel controls and switch placement, to meet driver needs. The Cascadia® is offered with the Integrated Detroit™ Powertrain, which integrates the most fuel-efficient DD15® and DD13® engines ever designed with the technologically advanced DT12™ On-Highway Series transmissions and specifically engineered Detroit™ steer and high-speed ratio tandem axles for optimal, efficient performance."

You will soon be able to experience the Freightliner Cascadia® for yourself from one of your local in-game dealerships!

Some of our hyper-perceptive fans have also noticed the DD15® engine note in our teaser too. If you were curious about how we managed to find a Cascadia® for a sound-recording session, despite the ongoing COVID restrictions, wonder no more! On the tightest of deadlines, our Licensing Manager was able to find and contact Transportbotschafter in Germany, who provided us with the opportunity to rent an imported Freightliner Cascadia® for a day. Have a look at some of the photos they took of the session 3 weeks ago!

If a picture speaks a thousand words, how about a video too?

Be sure to follow our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for more screenshots and content before the release.

Freightliner® is a trademark of Daimler Trucks North America LLC and is used under license to SCS Software s.r.o.

With the recent release of Colorado for American Truck Simulator, our social media channels have been filled to the brim with photos & videos from your first journey in this new state. We love looking through them during the workday and we even share them with each other across our internal channels. It really does bring a lot of positivity among our colleagues as we love seeing drivers getting creative and sharing some really beautiful photos and videos!

We'd love to share just a handful of content from you, our #BestCommunityEver with you here! But you can watch a lot more or find your favorite creator here. You can also continue to send us your screenshots and videos from Colorado on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #CruisingColorado.

However, Colorado hasn't just gotten attention in the form of community-created content, but also from official press coverage, such as these fantastic review articles from Saving Content and PCInvasion. We highly recommended giving them a read if you are still unsure if Colorado is worth the trip in American Truck Simulator.

We have also received an overwhelming amount of positive reviews on our Steam Page. To everyone who takes the time to write reviews and give constructive criticism about Colorado, thank you! Here are just a few of our favourites! If you would like to leave a review, be sure to do so at the Colorado Steam Store Page.

Iberia: Coastal Cities

With over 3,000 km of coastline, a majority of Iberia's largest cities and population are located near or next to the sea. With temperatures soaring into the 40's during the height of summer, the coastal breeze is nature's air-conditioning, keeping residents cool during the hottest months.

Today, we are happy to share with you a selection of images from some of the coastal cities that will be featured in our upcoming Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. We won't be naming all the locations of the screenshots shown below, so we encourage you to work together and comment below if you can guess the other locations featured in this blog.

Malaga

Located on the Mediterranean coastline, Malaga is Spain's fifth-largest city. It is best known internationally for its sunny weather, attractive beaches, and the cultural city center with towering apartment blocks. The city also features a large seaport, Puerto de Malaga, which is the oldest continuously-operated port in Spain, and one of the oldest in the Mediterranean region. From visiting cruise ships to freighters, this port works around the clock to send and receive shipments from around the world.

Algeciras

On the subject of ports, Algeciras is home to one of the largest ports in Europe and in the world in three main categories: container, cargo, and transshipment. It also serves as an important gateway for industries shipping to mainland Europe from North Africa. This beautiful coastal city offers drivers a spectacular view of the coast and even the famous 'The Rock of Gibraltar' located on the other side of the bay.

Olhão

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of a large city, then Olhão may be the destination for you. Titled as one of one the calmest destinations in Portugal, it is one of the few coastal towns within the Algarve region where the primary focus of the economy is not tourism. Just like many of the coastal towns and cities across Iberia, fishing is one of the main industries of the town.

Bilbao

Bilbao is the capital of Biscay and the economic, social and cultural centre of the Basque region. Combining a stylish vintage district, industrial heritage, and modern architecture, it is one of the largest cities in northern Spain. This may just be one of your first destinations on a drive when crossing the border into Iberia.

These are just a few of the highlighted coastal towns and cities that you will be able to explore and deliver to and from around the Iberian peninsula. If you like what you sea, don't forget to take a moment to add Iberia for Euro Truck Simulator 2 to your Steam Wishlist, which really helps supports us and our upcoming releases. Gracias/Obrigado!

#CruisingColorado Event Announcement

With the Colorado DLC releasing tomorrow, November 12th, we'd like to celebrate by inviting you all to take part in our latest World of Trucks event - Cruising Colorado! We know many of you are as excited as we are to visit this beautiful Rocky Mountain state with its breathtaking views and historic places, and we are delighted to announce that this event will reward drivers who contribute to Colorado's local economy and industries.

We are asking our #BestCommunityEver to achieve the community goal of driving 60,000,000 miles (96,560,640 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Colorado. It doesn't matter what you haul, gold mining supplies, wind turbine parts, lumber, food, beverages, it all counts, every last delivery!

And, of course, you can use your own trailer during all of this in the external market!

Our Colorado DLC offers 13 fantastic and unique cities that we really want you to visit. So, we're offering a special reward for completing your personal goal, which will require you to deliver a job to or from each of them. All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more, so be sure to read the rules.

We will keep the event running until well after Christmas, so there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the ride while earning your rewards.

As you are #CruisingColorado and adding up the job miles, we guarantee there will be new experiences for you like never before. Not to mention, we have included many new viewpoints, offering handcrafted cinematic views, highlighting the attractions of that area.

  • Visit the Four Corners Monument, the only point in the United States shared by four states.
  • Take a drive through Wolf Creek Pass, located deep in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
  • Drive over Red Cliff Bridge, a steel arch bridge that crosses over a beautiful valley.
  • Truck along the I-70, a major east-west Interstate Highway that passes through Glenwood Canyon.
  • Take a job from Denver International Airport, the 5th busiest airport in the U.S. and home of famous Blucifer.

Colorado, Nil sine numine (Nothing without providence), is our latest addition to American Truck Simulator. Know that as you wind down your cab window and settle in for the long haul, we'll be right there, cruising with you in spirit.  We can't wait to hear your thoughts about this incredibly beautiful, mountainous, triumphant, epic, and historic state.

Rules

Using External Contracts or the External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to drive 60,000,000 miles (96,560,640 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Colorado.

The cities are: Fort Collins, Sterling, Rangely, Steamboat Springs, Denver, Burlington, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Pueblo, Lamar, Montrose, Alamosa, Durango

When a player completes delivery to or from each of the 13 Colorado cities, it will achieve their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 100 miles each (161 km), or more.

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards:

Personal goal:
Players that deliver cargo to or from each of the 13 Colorado cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and an impressive Rocky Mountain Bighorn themed ATS truck paint job Steam inventory item.

Community goal: When the community goal of driving 60,000,000 miles (96,560,640 km) during deliveries to or from any of the 13 cities in Colorado is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a hanging Rocky Rodeo Gem ornament Steam inventory item.

We look forward to seeing drivers new and old exploring Colorado for the first time, and we would love to see photos from your first journeys across the state border!
