Iberia: Truck Stops & Gas Stations

Iberia is enormous, measuring at over 580,000 square kilometers, truckers have a seemingly endless amount of road to drive on. Through mountains, cities, and forests, drivers often seek refuge from the sun and take the time to rest for the journey ahead at suitable rest areas and designated gas stations designed for truck drivers.

With Iberia being one of the leading logistic capitals of Europe, truck stops have become commonplace across the countries of Spain and Portugal. Our map and assets teams have paid special attention to the creation of gas stations and truck stops in our upcoming Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

A large majority of these gas stations have been handmade with new prefabs and assets which can be placed by our map team manually. This allows our teams to create a variety of designs that can be crafted to match their real-life counterparts as closely as possible. These rest stops also will feature other AI drivers who will pull up for fuel and for a much-needed rest in the parking area.

From small country gas stations to large highway truck stops, drivers can relax knowing the next stop isn't too far away. While you are filling up, be sure to take a moment to add Iberia to your Steam Wishlist! It really helps support us and notifies you of its release in the future, thank you. Plus as always - check out our social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) because you may see there some additional and exclusive content not spotted here!

#CruisingIdaho Wrap-Up

On July 16th, we invited you to take part in our World of Trucks Event #CruisingIdaho, which celebrated the release of Idaho for American Truck Simulator. The community goal at hand was to achieve 30,000,000 miles (48,280,320 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Idaho, and deliver you did.

In one of the fastest event completions we've seen, you achieved the set goal in less than 72 hours, wow! We couldn't believe how fast the goal was met; it just goes to show the amazing power of our #BestCommunityEver. While the community goal was completed, there were still many truckers who hadn't had the time to complete their personal goal to explore all 11 cities in Idaho. So we decided to extend the event not once, but twice, just to make sure everyone got a chance to gain their rewards.

Incredible work truckers! We cannot thank you enough for your support during the release of Idaho and we are excited at the idea of what other unique events we can bring to the American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. It really does bring a lot of joy to our team to see how much you enjoy participating in these events. We hope you ride with pride with your newly acquired Idaho paint jobs & hanging accessory.

SCS Merch Shop: The End Of A Chapter

Back in 2017, after meeting a lot of fans during our #SCSOnTheRoad travels and listening to their ideas about official merchandise, we gave the idea of an official e-shop a try.

After three years of service and effort, we have come to the conclusion that we need to move and shift our focus to other areas.

Over the years, we have sold thousands of articles, and we believe we have made a lot of our fans happy. While we did not expect the merch sales to become a massive profit generator for us, unfortunately, the volume of merch was never large enough to sustain full-time staff; but always high enough to occupy too much time of our part-time bandwidth that we could dedicate to preparing and shipping parcels and all the paperwork.

Ultimately, factoring in all the hard work and long hours we need to pour into our e-shop, we realized that this is not the best investment of our time. So it is with a heavy heart that we announce:

The Official SCS Software E-Shop will close on November 30th at 23:59 UTC. Any orders made after this date will not be accepted or completed.

However, on a more positive note, up until that time, we will be hosting multiple clearance sales and specials across our entire range of ETS2, ATS, and SCS Software merchandise. From hoodies to coffee mugs, everything must go! So be sure to check eshop.scssoft.com often to view the latest deal. It will be your last chance to own a piece of SCS merchandise for yourself (unless you meet us on the road!), so make sure to place your orders before it is too late.

Actually, as you may have noticed, some of these clearance sales and special discount offers already took place and are live now!

If you don't make an order in time, then don't panic! This is not the definite end of our merch. We still plan to produce new T-shirt designs, new mugs, and caps, and more. The SCS team here is proud to wear our stuff, and we would produce new designs for our own team needs.

We still want and expect to surprise our volunteer community beta testers and our most active community translators with occasional surprise packages. But rather than going through all the hassle of selling our merch online, we will be limiting ourselves to using it, occasionally, as rewards for online competitions and events, or as freebies to give away to fans visiting us as we travel the world and visit gaming industry and transportation industry events. Hopefully such a time will come back again next year once the world is safe again from Covid-19.

We thank you all for your continued support and we thank you for understanding.

Colorado Road Network

Truckers can spend over 300 days per year on the road delivering a variety of loads across different states and countries. That is why our teams spend a lot of time making sure road networks are represented in the best way possible within our titles; and Colorado for American Truck Simulator will be no exception.

From unique junctions to famous truck stops, Colorado will feature unique road layouts and landmarks familiar to truckers who drive in the area frequently. One such example is the Mousetrap, the nickname given to an interchange located near the city of Denver that was built in the 1950s. Today, its layout has become a landmark known to the millions of drivers that pass through it every year.

Truck stops are also another important aspect to truckers in the United States. Every night, these stops become a temporary home and safe space for drivers from around the country as they make their journey. Each one has its own unique look and feel, which we are doing our best to recreate in our title with each new DLC.

So what else does colorful Colorado have to offer? We will be sharing more content as we develop it for this upcoming DLC which you can help support by adding it to your Steam wishlist! You can also find some exclusive content not found on this blog across our social media channels, so be sure to look out for them on our FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.

Please keep in mind that the screenshots that we have shared today are still in a work in progress state, including road signage, mountains, scenery, and the junctions themselves and do not represent the final product.

#CruisingIdaho Extended!

Having received quite a few messages from our #BestCommunityEver about not finding enough free time to finish their personal goal in the currently ongoing #CruisingIdaho World of Trucks event, we started wondering if we should extend its duration a little bit more.

Summer is now in full swing, which means that people are spending more time with their families or on travelling and vacations (well, at least for those who can despite the COVID-19 challenges affecting tourism and travelling in general); many may not have met the requirements needed to obtain the event's rewards. We've also gotten quite a few messages from our players who were getting stuck on trying to reach the event's goal, which meant that they needed more time to successfully complete the event.

We suggest reading the event's rules very carefully. You are asked to pick-up from or deliver a job to all of the 11 cities in Idaho. For example, if you start a job from Boise and complete its delivery to Idaho Falls, this will count as 2 of the 11 cities required for the event's personal goal. However, if you then complete a job from Idaho Falls to Salmon, this job will earn you only 1 additional completed city as Idaho Falls has already served as the start/end point for a previous delivery. You will have to start a delivery from or deliver to all of the 11 cities in Idaho DLC to complete the personal goal. If you're not sure what cities have you had in your recent deliveries, you can always check a few recent jobs you did in the Log Book on World of Trucks website.

After asking our community directly for their opinions on such an extension, we've decided to fulfill these wishes to extend the duration of the #CruisingIdaho event till August 24, 23:59 UTC!

In short, there is now an extra week for all those who could benefit from a bit more time. Don't forget also about the #CaptureIdaho screenshot sharing contest, which is still ongoing. We've been watching our social media profiles and we have to admit that our judges will surely have a difficult task picking the winners; so far we love nearly all of what we've spotted!

Iberia: Lisbon

Lisbon is a historical city where the sun shines 290 days a year and the temperature rarely drops below 15°C. Featuring coastal views, great food, and more, it's no wonder millions of tourists visit the capital of Portugal each year.

Today, we are excited to share with you a gallery of work in progress screenshots from this important city which will be featured in our upcoming Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. As one of the few European capitals with a river and coastline, the city has a rich history of industrial maritime history.

Lisboa also holds the title of one of the oldest cities in Western Europe; in fact, only Athens is the only other city in Europe that is estimated to be older. So what can truckers expect to see when driving in Lisbon?

Well, we don't want to spoil it too much, but with a variety of industries such as shipyards and factories, there will be plenty of outgoing and incoming deliveries to be made. Drivers will also drive near some of the well-known landmarks, including 2 bridges that will connect travelers across the Tagus River.

So with sunshine, stunning views, and deliveries to be made, we are sure Lisboa will be one of the top of destinations on your list to visit when Iberia releases.

If you haven't already, be sure to add Iberia to Steam Wishlist! It really helps supports us and notifies you of its release in the future. You can also find a few exclusive content not found on this blog across our social media channels, so be sure to look out for them on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
