With the release of our Iceland DLC, we invite you all to join us on Tuesday the 10th of November for our newest World of Trucks event - Cruising Iceland! Roll through the Land of Fire and Ice and take in some of the most dramatic scenery on Earth: volcanic peaks, roaring waterfalls, ancient glaciers, and skies that glow with the aurora.
Ready to take on the challenge? Deliver cargo to or from any city in Iceland and help drive the community towards our shared goal of 175,000,000 km. With the #BestCommunityEver behind the wheel, we know no distance is out of reach!
Come #CruisingIceland with us along the famous Ring Road, where every bend reveals a new wonder - from black sand beaches to volcanic fields and the majestic fjords of the east and west. But this island carries far more than scenery, it holds a thousand years of stories. Vikings settled these shores and founded one of the world's oldest parliaments. Medieval sagas were written here and are still read in the same language today, and folklore lives on in every mossy lava field, where trolls and hidden folk are said to dwell.
Iceland's real-world wildlife is just as unforgettable, with puffins, arctic foxes and whales among the animals that call this island home. And while exploring its landscapes, you can expect to see horses and sheep grazing along the roadside. As you contribute to the island's economy, you'll haul everything from fresh catch to geothermal equipment across this land of extremes.
During your travels, you can look forward to many spectacular views and highlights, such as:
- The Ring Road, the legendary Route 1 encircling the entire island.
- The Haukadalur geothermal area, where the Strokkur geyser sends boiling water skyward.
- Iceland's famous narrow bridges, where truckers must yield, breathe, and squeeze across one lane at a time.
- Reykjavík, the world's northernmost capital, colourful and full of life.
As with past Cruising events, you can also participate using your own trailer by selecting jobs from the External Market!
The Iceland DLC features 14 incredible cities waiting to be explored. To complete your personal goal and earn a special reward, complete a delivery to or from each city. All jobs for the event must be at least 150 km long.
Set out on an unforgettable journey across the Land of Fire and Ice, travelling from coastal fishing villages to vast volcanic plateaus. Iceland’s roads are calling, are you ready to answer?
