Louisiana: Ferries & Moveable Bridges

As we continue to explore the vibrant state of Louisiana for the upcoming American Truck Simulator DLC, today we’d like to share a closer look at some unique features that make this region truly special - ferries and moveable bridges (drawbridges).

Louisiana’s landscape is defined by its close relationship with water. From winding bayous to broad rivers and coastal inlets, the state’s transport network depends heavily on crossings of all kinds. Our team wanted to capture this distinctive aspect of life on the road, bringing players a more authentic driving experience that reflects Louisiana’s natural and industrial character.

Ferries

Several ferry crossings will be available to drivers in this DLC, including Cameron-Holly Beach, Cote Blanche, and Port Fourchon, where the ferry is the only link to the offshore oil storage facilities. These crossings offer drivers a chance to slow down and take in the scenic beauty of Louisiana’s waterways while providing practical connections across otherwise distant routes. Each ferry has been seamlessly integrated into the road network and features detailed animations for a smooth, immersive transition as you journey across the water.

Moveable Bridges

Louisiana is also home to a variety of drawbridges and locks, which play an important role in both real-world transportation and in our recreation of the state. In places such as Monroe, Houma, and the Old River Lock, you’ll encounter moveable bridge structures that open and close to let boats pass. These features add a dynamic touch to your journey, creating moments where you might have to pause, watch, and enjoy the world around you before continuing your delivery.

And that's it for today! We can’t wait for you to experience these crossings for yourself when the Louisiana DLC arrives in American Truck Simulator. Remember to add the DLC to your Steam Wishlist and don't forget to give our X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok a follow osubscribe to our newsletter, as you'll receive updates about our games! We look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Illinois: Champaign

Nestled right in the heart of the Prairie State, Champaign offers a warm welcome to every trucker passing through. In our upcoming Illinois map expansion for American Truck Simulator, you'll get the chance to experience its unique spirit firsthand - let's take a look at what awaits you.

Lying about 135 miles southwest of Chicago, Champaign forms a vibrant twin-city area with neighboring Urbana, often collectively called Champaign-Urbana. With its combination of small-town comfort, college-town energy, and Midwestern heritage, the city has a stand-out character. It is perhaps best known for the local university, a nationally recognized public institution with roots dating back to 1867.

The university campus is one of Champaign's main highlights, and we wanted to capture its atmosphere in this upcoming DLC. Our asset and map designers have carefully recreated several campus-inspired buildings as landmarks, including a modern instructional facility, an electrical and computer engineering building, and a large research institute, along with a small sign paying homage to the university itself.

Champaign's in-game cityscape features several other recognizable buildings, such as the city hall, hospital, church, a few higher-story buildings, and even a local park, all faithfully recreated to reflect their real-world counterparts, so if you are familiar with the town, you'll recognize some of these locations as you drive through.

While the university may be the city's most famous landmark, there's much more to discover in Champaign. The city takes pride in its vibrant cultural scene and growing agritourism, with many local farms offering tours where visitors can learn more about the region's rich agricultural traditions.

Agriculture, centered mainly on corn and soybeans, remains a vital part of the local economy, alongside food processing and other industries. To reflect this in the game, we've included a food processing depot where players can deliver and pick up cargo tied to this important industry. Besides that, if you're in the area and looking for work, be sure to stop by the local car dealer, furniture store, or warehouse depot to pick up another load!

If you are eager to visit Champaign in the upcoming Illinois DLC, make sure to add this map expansion to your Steam wishlistRemember to stay tuned for more American Truck Simulator news by following us on TwitterFacebookInstagramBluesky, and YouTubeWe would also really appreciate it if you could sign up for our newsletter. Pinktober 2025 Update

With another October behind us, it’s time once again to take a look back at this year’s Pinktober 2025 campaign. Since 2019, we’ve proudly joined millions of people around the world in raising awareness, supporting the fight against breast cancer, and thanks to our amazing community, this year has been another wonderful success! If you missed our previous blog post about this special month, you can find it here.

First off, we’d like to express our heartfelt gratitute to everyone who took part in this year’s Pinktober. Whether you shared your #Pinktober2025 screenshots, joined charity convoys, tuned into streams, or simply spread awareness, every little action has helped push this important cause forward.

Thanks to your generosity and the continued popularity of our Pink Ribbon Charity Packs for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, we’ve raised an incredible 30,000 USD this year!

As always, 100% of these proceeds will be donated to the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer. This organization does incredible work in supporting, educating, and empowering those affected by breast cancer, and we’re proud to stand by them once again.

While Pinktober may have come to an end for this year, its message remains important every single day. We’d like to remind everyone to continue taking care of their health through:

  • Performing regular self-checks.
  • Scheduling professional screenings.
  • Staying informed and encouraging those around you to do the same.

Prevention and early detection are key, and sharing that knowledge can help save lives.

From all of us at SCS Software, thank you once again for standing with us in support of this meaningful cause. Your compassion and involvement continue to inspire us every year. Let’s keep spreading awareness, supporting one another, and driving for a healthier future together.

Nordic Horizons: Landmarks

We’re excited to share a preview of some of the remarkable landmarks that await you in our upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. From beautifully engineered bridges to the northernmost point of Europe, our team has faithfully recreated these real-world icons with a touch of Nordic magic! Let's check some of them out together.

First stop, The Hålogaland Bridge! Located along the E6, it is one of Norway’s most impressive modern engineering achievements. Officially opened in 2018, it stretches 1,533 metres across the Rombaksfjorden, making it the country’s second-longest suspension bridge. Its 175-metre pylons, sweeping cable design, and strategic role in improving regional transport links make it a landmark not just for its beauty, but for its importance to northern Norway’s road network. In-game, you’ll be able to enjoy the same spectacular fjord and mountain views that make this crossing a favourite among travellers and locals alike.

Venturing inland, culture and heritage shine through at the Sámi Parliament in Karasjok, a striking modern building inspired by traditional Lavvu structures and serving as a proud symbol of Sámi self-governance. Further south, you’ll also find the historic Gävle Theatre in Gävle, Sweden, a beautiful 19th-century performing arts theatre known for its elegant architecture and long tradition of hosting drama, music, and cultural events. Together, these landmarks offer a glimpse into the diverse cultural fabric of the Nordic region, from indigenous heritage to classical Scandinavian arts.

And then, the crown of the Arctic: Nordkapp. Standing 307 metres above the Barents Sea, this dramatic cliff plateau has long been regarded as the northernmost point of mainland Europe. Marked by its famous globe monument, it offers sweeping Arctic Ocean views, midnight sun in summer, polar nights in winter, and a true sense of achievement when you finally reach this must-visit landmark.

Have you been a good driver this year? If so, you'll also be able to visit the world-famous Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, where Christmas cheer meets the Arctic Circle, yes, even in July! Sitting directly on the Arctic Circle, it's one of Finland’s most visited destinations. Be sure to bring your festive spirit when visiting here!

Along your travels, you'll come across the Björnfjell customs station on the E10 at the Norwegian & Swedish border. While it may not top tourist lists, it has long served as an important mountain crossing between Narvik and northern Sweden. Surrounded by a beautiful snow-topped mountain landscape, this small outpost is an important landmark and stop for truckers!

That’s not everything, of course, the Nordic Horizons DLC is packed with many more landmarks to discover, from scenic viewpoints to roadside icons like the Giant Wooden Bear of Sveg. We’ll leave the rest for you to find out on the road!

Looking forward to trucking in the Nordic Horizons DLC? Be sure to add it to your Steam Wishlist to be notified upon its release! We thank you all for your support, and we are excited to share more information on this upcoming expansion in the near future. Until then, Happy Haulin'!

Louisiana: New Orleans & Baton Rouge

As we continue our development journey through the Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator, it’s time to take a closer look at two of the state’s iconic cities - New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Each city offers its own distinct blend of culture, history, and architecture, and our team has been working hard to bring its unique atmosphere to life behind the wheel.

New Orleans

Nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River, New Orleans is one of the most recognizable cities in the United States. Known for its music, food, and unmistakable Southern charm, it’s a destination that feels alive no matter the hour. In American Truck Simulator, players will get the chance to explore some of its most famous landmarks and roadways.

One of the standout features truckers will encounter is the Crescent City Connection. This twin-span bridge carries traffic across the Mississippi River and provides stunning views of the city’s skyline. Just beyond, the New Orleans Dome, home to countless sporting events and concerts, towers proudly as a centerpiece of the downtown area. Whether you’re hauling freight near the waterfront or driving through the bustling urban core, New Orleans is sure to offer a memorable driving experience filled with detail and atmosphere.

Players will also be able to drive past several key locations that define the city’s vibrant identity. such as the New Orleans Convention Center. Nearby, the cruise ship port brings in travelers from around the world, while the National WWII Museum stands as one of the nation’s most respected historical attractions. And of course, no trip through New Orleans would be complete without a glimpse of Canal Street.

Baton Rouge

Roughly an hour’s drive north along the river, Baton Rouge serves as Louisiana’s capital. It’s a city where history meets progress, and we’ve worked to reflect that balance throughout its in-game recreation.

Crossing the impressive Horace Wilkinson Bridge provides an unforgettable view of the city and the Mississippi below, a highlight for any trucker making their way through the region. Once inside the city, players can spot several notable landmarks, including the Old State Capitol, with its castle-like Gothic Revival design, and the New State Capitol, the tallest Capitol building in the United States. Nearby, the Baton Rouge Memorial Plaza adds a solemn yet beautiful touch to the downtown landscape.

In addition to these landmarks, Baton Rouge is home to several cultural and recreational attractions, for example, the River Center Arena, the USS KIDD Veterans Museum, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, and the Memorial Stadium. As with all major cities in American Truck Simulator, Baton Rouge won’t just be about sightseeing. You’ll find plenty of opportunities for freight deliveries across industrial zones and commercial areas.

Both New Orleans and Baton Rouge capture the spirit of Louisiana, a blend of vibrant culture, deep-rooted history, and the unshakable rhythm of life along the river, and we can’t wait for you to experience these incredible cities for yourself when the Louisiana DLC arrives in American Truck Simulator.
