SCS On The Road: Elmia Lastbil

Today we're happy to share a new episode in our SCS On The Road series! In this video, we're taking you back to the summertime when we had the opportunity to attend Elmia Lastbil, an international trade fair for the transport and trucking industry hosted in Jönköping, Sweden. In collaboration with Scania Trucks, we were able to share the experience of our 4D Motion Simulator and offer a virtual test drive of their Scania S BEV at our virtual 1:1 recreation of the Scania Test Center located in Södertälje with attendees at the show.

Join Mark as he chats with James Cotino, Exhibit Unit Specialist at Scania Group and shows you around one of the largest haulage and transport events in the Nordic Region. The show was well attended with over 400 exhibitors plus an incredible array and variety of trucks and trailers from all over Europe. We were also lucky enough to check out the Nordic Trophy, which is an event where custom show trucks from all over the Nordic region come together to be judged in hopes of winning the title. If you love custom trucks, airbrushed paint jobs and more, you won't want to miss this!

We'd like to once again thank our partners at Scania for allowing us the opportunity to collaborate with them at their booth for this event. We really had a fantastic time and enjoyed giving attendees from across the world the opportunity to virtually test drive the Scania S BEV in Euro Truck Simulator 2. We also hope you enjoyed watching this recap! If you did, consider leaving a like or a comment under the video on YouTube. Until next time, keep on truckin'.

SCS On The Road: Fully Electric Scania 45 R Walk-Around & Test Ride

Today, we're excited to release a new episode in our SCS On The Road series. This time, we were given the special opportunity to get a close-up look at one of Scania's fully electric trucks at the Scania Demo Centre, located in Södertälje, Sweden.

Join Oscar, our Director of Global Partnerships, and Fredrik Sundén, Expert Engineer at Scania Group as they talk about the development of the Scania 45 R, the little sister to the Scania 40 & 45 S, and give you a guided walk-around and POV from the cabin as they drive it on the test track.

We are very grateful to the team at Scania for allowing us to film and share with you an inside look at the work that goes into creating Scania's electrified trucks. Whilst only the Scania 40 & 45 S are available in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as quick jobs, we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to test drive and learn more about its smaller counterpart, the Scania 45 R, which shares many similarities.

We hope you enjoy watching, and learning about the fully electric Scania 45 R. If you like the video, be sure to subscribe, like and leave a reply, as we'd love to hear your comments. We will see you soon for the next episode, until then, keep on truckin'!

ETS2: Scania S BEV Release

We're excited to announce that Scania Trucks will be joining our electric line up in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the Scania 40 S and 45 S Battery Electric Vehicle, which are now available to drive through the Quick Jobs section in-game. Ready for some new energy? Let's take a closer look at this new addition!

The Scania 40 S and 45 S featured in ETS2 are based on the Scania S‑series with a 4x2 Chassis and features a six-speed transmission combined with three electric motors with a continuous power output of 400/450 kW (540/610 hp). With a battery capacity of 624 kWh, it can achieve a distance of up to 520km in a single journey, depending on the Gross Weight of the Trailer.

The interior comes with a few specific changes for the electric variant. BEV-specific gauges are introduced alongside a refreshed interior that includes Blind Spot Indicators built into the A‑pillars, an electronic parking brake, as well as some smaller changes to the drivers dashboard.

We're also happy to share that our team have re-created a special paintjob which will be applied to the Scania S BEV. Drivers can enjoy trucking and making deliveries with the 'Take Charge' livery, which features a 'Glacier White' & Blue gradient and the texts '100% Electric' & 'Take Charge'.

We hope that you enjoy this special and unique addition to the Electric Trucks line-up in Euro Truck Simulator 2! We eagerly await our community's feedback on its quietness, acceleration, behaviour, and smoothness and hope you will enjoy experiencing a new energy in-game.

As previously talked about, transitioning to electric vehicles poses unique challenges in our virtual realm. While our team continues to work hard to support electric vehicles infrastructure, gas stations initially designed for traditional fuel vehicles, can't easily become electric charging stations without major modifications.

Currently, we're embarking on an experimental phase with our initial steps toward in-game electrification. That is why the Scania 40 S and 45 S BEV, along with a few other electric trucks planned for the future, will be introduced in a special mode and will be accessible only through the Quick Jobs section with delivery lengths limited to 350 km. In case you run out of power while on the road, we have implemented an emergency recharging service that can help you out for a fee. Our cautious approach ensures a smooth experience as we gradually integrate electric vehicles into our virtual world.

This update will not reset the in-game economy, so it may take some time for a quick job with the new electric Scania to appear in your game. Please be patient and allow some in-game time to pass if you don't see a quick job with this new truck right away.

We hope you enjoy trucking with the Scania S BEV in Euro Truck Simulator 2! Be sure to share your photos of your first journey with us and Scania Trucks on X/Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Until next time, keep on truckin'.

SCS On The Road: Behind The Scenes: Fully Electric Scania

We're very excited to share with you a special SCS On The Road episode, which confirms which vehicle was seen and shared in our recent 'New Truck Spotted in ETS2' blog post. As many of you guessed correctly, we're happy to announce that the First Fully Electric Scania Truck will be coming to Euro Truck Simulator 2!

In this episode, we return to Sweden to give you a behind the scenes look at the process our team undertake to collect important reference material, and how we record audio for a new truck. This all took place at the famous Scania Demo Centre located in Södertälje. We'd like to express our gratitude to all those involved at Scania who made this trip and project possible! We look forward to sharing the end results in the future.

Much like previous additions, the Scania S Battery Electric Vehicle will be accessible only through the Quick Jobs section, as we continue to work on making changes to the in-game world to fully support electric vehicles.

We hope you've enjoyed watching this special Behind The Scenes episode. We look forward to producing more episodes in the near future. Be sure to follow us on X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to be notified of all the latest news and releases. Until then, we'll see you on the road!

Scania Demo Centre

While we are still working hard to bring the 1.50 update to you, we would like to share another sneak peek at what's to come with it! Teaming up with our friends from Scania, we are happy to reveal something special coming to the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2 in the 1.50 update: the famous Scania Demo Centre in Södertälje, Sweden.

This facility was established in 1995 and serves multiple purposes in real life. Mostly, Scania uses it to demonstrate their vehicles, both trucks and buses. The facility hosts up to 14 thousand visitors every year from universities to engineers and also allows drivers with a Category B license to try out Scania vehicles.

There are three different types of terrain - three kilometres of asphalt roads, two kilometres of forest roads, and three kilometres of gravel roads. Now, you will be able to navigate this meticulously crafted test track and put your truck to the test in various conditions and terrains in Euro Truck Simulator 2!

And just a friendly reminder - as the Demo Centre is located in Sweden, you need to own the Scandinavia DLC to be able to visit it.

This in-game circuit is an exact replica of the real one on a 1:1 scale. We are proud of the smooth and professional cooperation with Scania that made it possible for us to precisely reproduce every detail in this location.

Excited to visit the Demo Centre? Drivers looking for the Scania Demo Centre may need to invest some time and effort in it as this is another example of the type of content that is not visibly marked on the World Map. We encourage you to explore the city of Södertälje in Sweden, along with its surrounding areas. Doing so may just reward you with finding the road that leads to the Scania Demo Centre!

We are looking forward to you exploring everything that the Scania Demo Centre has to offer. We would like to thank our friends at Scania and the Demo Centre who helped us greatly in bringing this special facility to life in Euro Truck Simulator 2 for our #BestCommunityEver to enjoy. Our teams have worked hard to replicate the look and feel of this area and we hope you will enjoy exploring it!

Would you like to see what this facility looks like in the real world? Check out our SCS On The Road episode we created when we visited the Scania Demo Centre last year and get another preview of what is coming.

We hope you are excited to discover and try out the Scania Demo Centre! SCS On The Road: Scania Demo Centre

At the end of last week, a small crew returned from an exciting and promising business trip to Södertälje, Sweden, where both the Scania headquarters and their Demo Centre are located.

Our excellent relationship with Scania meant we were able to organize a very interesting agenda for our visit. While the main goal of our crew was to record the sounds of a few of Scania's new engines, we have also been able to spice up our schedule a bit with activities related to a few other promising projects too. These will have to remain secret for some time, but we are sure you will love what we have planned.

When it comes to the sound-recording part of our trip to Södertälje, we are happy to have successfully gathered samples and material for three amazing engines Scania offers for their trucks - the 560HP Super (Inline 6), the 590HP V8, and the mighty 770HP V8. We would like to use this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Helene, Joar, and their teams from Scania who helped make this happen and made our team feel like honored guests. It's always great for us to see when partners like Scania take any cooperation or project with us this seriously.

We can't really promise when you can expect all this material to be processed and implemented into the game, but when they are ready you can look forward to new engine options for Scania trucks along with their authentic sounds!
