Oslo happens to be one of the largest urban agglomerations featured in Scandinavia DLC, in fact Oslo and the surrounding areas is possibly the largest city we have built so far in Euro Truck Simulator 2.
As you can see in the screenshots below, we are using new types of junctions and intersections extensively in Scandinavia, in this particular case to connect the city to the large port that incorporates a ferry terminal.
Oslo itself is filled with several smaller loading docks in different districts of the city located a couple of kilometers away from each other. There are so many opportunities for exploration!

Can't wait for Scandinavia DLC! #FirstComment
ReplyDeletedo you know the release date?
Delete20th March I think
DeleteIt's definitely not going to be released on 20th March - that's just a ploy companies use to make people pre-order it. Given that the map of the last DLC, Going East, was shown in January 2013, and the DLC itself released in September 2013, we could have a long time to wait until Scandinavia's out.
Delete25th of March is the release date which was obviously told by SCS themselves
DeleteAlthough I can not belive why they do not release it on the spot, on you tube you can already see People playing the scandinavian add on and one of that films was dated September 2014
I sure can understand that there will be press releases to make the journalists test and rate it and to promote it but does it have to be such a long time? To me it seems they keep it on hold/back with no good reason
Maybe the new Mercedes Actros comes with the scandinavian add on!!?
DeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteCool! But is Oslo the biggest city in scandinavia in real life?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteNo, but I suppose that they are trying to replicate the feel and structure of the city, in wich case maybe Oslo has to be bigger compared to other cities in game.
DeleteOslo is the third biggest city of Scandinavia. Oslo has about 900.000 inhabitants, Stockholm and Copenhagen both have about 1.300.000 inhabitants.

ReplyDeleteLooks great! However, it seems as if the center line is white in stead of yellow? In Norway the line dividing the separate lanes of travel is always yellow.
ReplyDeleteThere's a mod that paints these lines yellow. I thinks it's @ modsaholic, but I'm not sure...
DeleteThat may be, but I find it kind of odd that SCS don't do that themselves.. It can't possibly be that hard!
DeleteYellow if lanes going opposite direction of eachother and white if the lanes goes in the same direction.
DeleteThe roads displayed in these screenshots are all white divider lines in real life, afaik Christian is correct(but I don't have a drivers license so can't confirm 100% :P)
DeleteI can. Yellow line to separate oncoming traffic. This is also used on highways even though the highways don't have directly oncoming traffic. One of the reasons is that it is for safety. You should NEVER have a yellow line on your right side. Lanes with traffic going in the same direction have white lines.
DeleteI have seen screenshots from the new Scandinavia DLC with yellow lines, so it seems that SCS are not very focused on these details.
Yes, that's what I meant. I was mainly referring to picture nr.2 and nr.4. Here you can see traffic going in opposite directions, meaning the lines dividing them should be yellow, and not white as you see in the pictures.
DeleteAlso, what tregetog states, highways also have that yellow line on the left hand side. This is a new practice though, and you will still find "old" highways in Norway with a white line on the left.
nice work scs!!
ReplyDeleteHello watch my WoTs profile :) https://worldoftrucks.com/en/online_profile.php?id=6411
ReplyDeleteGuys, this is great, extra nice

ReplyDeleteMaybe some news about Actros MP4?
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteI agree with you. :)
DeleteWhen I installed the latest update (1.16.2), I lost almost all of the cities in Poland, the ones that were included on the going east expansion. Is this a glitch or was that supposed to happen? Some clarification from anyone would be much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYou might installed the game (any version) but you forgot to activate the going east DLC, in which Poland ..is :D
DeleteMaybe a release date how bout that?
ReplyDeleteStop teasing and release it !
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, what about a release date? New Mercedes? Renault Range T?
We all know how beautiful Scandinavia can be - thanks to your screenshots, that obvious - great work SCS. If you are not planning to enlarge this DLC, we would better want to "be" there and play. As someone wrote before we would like to read about Mercedes New Actros, because like it was with DAF we don't want to wait whole year for it (now it's a half of it).
ReplyDeleteActros Mp4 was announced in Eager 2014. Allmost a year.
DeleteThis is awsome guys, im so excited about this dlc, Same day it gets released i'll buy it even if it costs 50 euros :D!.. Awsome work SCS, nobody can beat you guys, your company pwns!.. Imagine Multiplayer Convoys in Europe! :D
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic! Can't wait to go exploring and see the new maps! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWhere are yellow road markings?
ReplyDeleteThey are only on roads that actually have them (where the other lanes are going the opposite direction), see this older post where you see them in action:
Deletehttp://blog.scssoft.com/2015/02/scandinavia-reveal.html
@Tor Erik: it should have been yellow lines on all the pictures above except the one from the docks.
DeleteNice
ReplyDeleteLooks really cool, makes the UK look like Lego Land lol
ReplyDeleteLooks brilliant. I hope the rest of Europe get some visual tweaks too, has these look stunning!

ReplyDeleteGreat images keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteReconstruct the old map or will have a great contrast between the part new of the DLC and the old map and modify game engine please, the game slows down too.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I apologize for my behavior. Although I'm not a woman but I would like to know the date of release the Scandinavia DLC. So please be so kind and reveal its please so waiting will not be such hard.
ReplyDeleteThis map is looking great so far SCS!
ReplyDeleteawesome
ReplyDeleteNo krásné a už se moc těším až DLC Scandinavia vyjde na veřejnost
ReplyDeletenice!! i cant wait to play :D
ReplyDeleteETS2 realistically. Best game I've ever played. Great work done so far. Even though still waiting on Slay-trailers update and the New Mercedes trk you mentioned few months back. I'm always up for challenges. Got money put back for Scaninavia and ATS DLC packages, So, feel free to release them anytime time soon, just saying lol
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting to know about the double trailers and the road trains as the release of ATS is approaching, remember, in america doubles and road trains are default, every single trucking company in the US utilizes at least three to four doubles for any purpose for example, when the load is higher than a single trailer can handle they use double trailers and are sent on secondary roads to go to the destination instead of the primary roads that have the weighting scales, just saying, and one more thing, where is the SNOW?
ReplyDeletevery nice, but I'm sick with all this teasers e no game to play...
ReplyDeleteWoww, awesome work SCS!! Come to truckers Scandinavia DLC!!

DeleteYup. What GTA IV and ETS have in common? I have decent framerate on lowest settings only :)
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteAsus GTX 750ti oc edition very good for this game!i have 60-80 fps in ultra settings without mlaa, full hd.sorry for my english=))
DeleteI am running a 4.1Ghz system with an Nvidia GT-520 card with only 1GB of video memory at 1920x1080 and no FPS drop at all
DeleteSCS you are , again stalling. Where is the DLC bitch ? By the way, I hope you won't mess up again, the sunset. In your original ETS2 the sunset is in south, which put you on the last place in a "shame" top and as a company which makes a game with day -night cycle. All other companies did this right except ...you
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing SCS. You guys really like to whet our appetites! I so want to get my hands on the Scandinavia DLC, so I hope that the release isn't too far away.
ReplyDeleteNice :)

ReplyDeleteWhat? Of course they're part of Europe...
Deleteman...how it would be awesome if they release this DLC and ATS at the same time....DOUBLE THE FUN!
