Unloading cargo - Scania Factory in DLC Scandinavia

As the release of DLC Scandinavia is getting closer, we decided to give you another sneak peek at a new location included in the update. Today we would like to show off one of the new delivery areas: Scania truck plant in Södertälje, just south of Stockholm. This location and its surroundings have been carefully re-created in cooperation with Scania, allowing us to give you a feeling as if you were coming to the factory yourself.

Check out the picture below for comparison with actual factory entrance.

We also had one of the community's favorite video creators – Squirrel; known by many as creator and host of Sunday Night Trucking show – visiting us in our office today. As you can see, a formal hat and t-shirt exchange had to be made! Paul is a really cool guy, he recorded quite a lot of footage in our office and got a lot of honest answers to his questions. We are looking forward to seeing a video report from his trip to Prague!

    3. "The "Euro Truck Simulator 2: Scandinavia Add-On" is scheduled to end March 2015" This date was never announced by SCS. There is no official release date. Amazon and in general all sites are speculating. When the DLC will be ready SCS will announce the release date here in the blog

  5. Nice that you do cooperation with Scania. Keep up the great work.
Also Volvo have made new Electric Bus it will drive without fuel engine. Coming soon to be in traffic in Sweden soon. I though this may be good idea to include as bonus in you upcoming Bus sim game.

  9. Good news guys !!!

But please, optimize the game, with each update the game slows down more and more, especially in areas where there is much density of trees. Thank you.

    1. That's not SCS's fault that's your fault, and if you want your game to run smoother turn your graphics down.

    2. If you are using mods you should disable them.

    3. Looking at the screenshots that are often indistinguishable from photographs, this add-on will significantly raise the system requirements. Regardless under what name it is released, it's gonna be comparable to an entirely new game.

Keep your old versions аnd play those until you can afford to upgrade or replace the computer. Never blindly accept updates from online distribution systems. It is unusual how they keep adding stuff to the game, increasing its download size and memory footprint, and cutting compatibility with old OS, and never brand it as a new game. After several years, older versions will no longer be available anywhere, but computers capable of running them will still be in working order.

ProMods outside of major cities mostly plays smoothly on a PC that can run the base ETS2. Cities like Stockholm do slow down the game big time.

  10. Very nice shot's and representation, but it's visible the prefabs roads.
What are the plans to use less prefabs for the game?
I know that there is still a large part of Europe to be represented, but it would be nice to know how the SCS Software intend to bring this to the game.

  11. Mr. squirrell.....

    mhhh...
He talked shit about the ets2mp mod, told people it was fake and a scam and a virus, made hate on renault for no reason. And LOVES the way scania drives... Even though all the truck .xmls are the same...

He only cares for his own wallet and is an ignorant cunt.

    1. The unfortunate effect of Squirrel's "stardom". They always change when they get too many subscribers. He's right about Scania being the best though.

  13. Great job guys, keep up the great work! Btw, do you have any news regarding American Truck Simulator? I really can't wait to play this awesome game from an awesome company.

  14. For ATS, can you make a Kenworth T800 daycab? It's one of the most common trucks on the road.

  15. The plant will be only the place of delivery? However, it would be great to add a new semi-trailer with Scania trucks on the platform, that would make the plant loading point! That is to add the ability to deliver products automobile plant in different European cities.

  16. I was lying down in bed the other day and i came over ETS2 somehow. I was playing Farming Simulator 2015 just before i went to bed and i remember how i washed the tractors & machines before putting them into the garage. So i thought, why not bring this into ETS2? Being able to get dirty trucks & trailers and then being able to drive them into a washing room where it gets automatically washed (maybe with 5 different programs, #1 for basic wash that doesn't get the truck all shiny & stuff, at a low cost meanwhile #5 is the most expensive cost but gets your truck the cleanest and shiniest.) and then you have to drive it out again, like the sleeping/ferry concept. I know this will take time to remake the ETS2 map(if it's even possible) If it won't then maybe you should take in consideration putting it in for ETS3 because of ATS maps already being done (considering the screenshots) & it might be unnecessary for the purpose it would fill. I mean, it's not something that would destroy the game if it didn't have.

Thanks for keeping us updated SCS we really do appreciate that you listen to what we truckers in the community like and don't like. And ofcourse updating the games!

  18. You guys noka oi (are the best)...

I never thought you are so precise when it comes to modelling ETS2 world.

WoW!!! I cannot wait to buy WoW.

Just out of curiosity, why are you not introducing the pre-ordering system...I believe loyal fans have developed trust such that they can pre-order your crafts...

  20. This question is perhaps a little of topic (sorry), but what is the difference between the 6X4 and the 6X2 chassis?
The only difference I see is the price...?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 6X4 means that the truck has got 6 wheels (6)X4. However, from the 6 wheels, only two wheels used to steer the truck (the two at the front) and the remaining 4 wheels used to pull the truck 6X(4). 6X2 means that the truck has also got 6 wheels (6)X2, but this time, the 4 wheels front wheels are used to steer the truck (which means better steering angle) but it lessens the amount of torque and power because only the remaining 2 wheels at the back which actually pulls the truck 6X(2). Just like cars, 4X2 means that the car has got 4 wheels but only 2 wheels actually pulls the car (FWD or RWD)

      Delete
    2. Thanks! =)
So the difference is that the 6X4 has two driving axles and the 6X2 has one driving axel. But I think both of them has just one steering axel, the chassis that have two steering axles is the 6X2/4.

  31. Hi guys!

The coordinates (in decimal degrees) of the CHASSIPORTEN SCANIA is:

    59.172481,17.644912

Type (or copy/paste) these numbers at Google Maps.
Change to street view.or drag the Pegman to the point in the map (green arrow)
You'll see the place where the photo above was taken!
    Greetings !!

  32. I was thinking since we will be able to buy are own trailers soon we should be able to buy ware house with loading docs. we should also be able to see are trucks in are garage if we are not using them. we should also be able to see are other drivers on the rode with different arrows. i also like the truck wash idea.

  33. I liked the sky and time ... Please SCS, I would be very good with this sky, sunrise, sunset one night with a moon less ... finally, rain with reflection on the floor ... will leave the game much more realistic.

  34. Create more unique delivery points (companies) like these to add life to the world. Gas stations could receive fuel for example. Also make these companies receive goods that are related to their business (Car Parts, Electronics could go to Scania, but not Cheese or Tractors, on an extremely rare occasion they may request a generic load like Furniture). This aspect is usually overlooked by mod authors, or they cannot add it due to technical limitations, and the result is rather shallow.
