DLC Scandinavia signs in progress

Today we would like to show you a glimpse on an element of ETS2: Scandinavia assets that we are currently finalizing. Populating the game world with signs that look real and make sense is a task requiring hundreds of man-hours of careful work. We dedicate a lot of attention to this feature of the game, after all there are players who challenge themselves to journey the world without the use of built-in Route Advisor GPS unit, and we had better make sure it is possible.

For DLC Scandinavia, we want the raise the quality bar with signs as well. Check out a compilation of a subset of new navigation signs:

  3. How about adding the numbers for amount of kilometers to drive untill you rich a city? For example: 'Warszawa 60'. Just a suggestion, keep up the great work!

  6. Good work SCS! But you could also modify/add some signs to the actual map. There are signs missing like they for rest areas. They are all the same everywhere. Or some directional signs in some countries that shows 2 rows for one direction but in reality is there only one. Please correct it.

    1. All correct.
100 for automobile, but 84 for truck.
      30 mile/hour = 48 km/hour

  24. Renault truck jumps over Lotus F1 car and sets Guinness record [video]

    83 feet and 7 inches

EMC teamed up with the Lotus F1 Team and managed to take down the Guinness World Record for a truck jump.
The record-breaking attempt took place on November 6 at Bentwaters Park, Suffolk in United Kingdom and behind the wheel of the truck was stuntman Mike Ryan (UK). He managed to jump the huge semi-truck no less than 83 feet and 7 inches over a moving Lotus Formula 1 car driven by Martin Ivanov, also a reputable stuntman.
Needless to say, this was done for publicity purposes to increase EMC's awareness, a cloud computing and data management company that collaborates with the Lotus F1 Team. The fact that they broke the Guinness World Record for a truck jump was certainly a nice bonus.

  26. These particular signs must be everywhere, as well as "real" highway junctions and crossroads (in a future DLC, it takes time, i know).
And if possible, diversity in how companies are showing across different cities.

Till then, please add a second speed for window wipers, and fog lights...and sideskirts where missing.

  27. Really looking forward to this DLC!

Noticed a few errors in the signs, maybe they're not completely finished yet?
I guess the text is only a placerholder, but you've spelled "VÄSTERÅS" wrong (VÄSTERÄS) on "board hw e str right e".

And the "hw exit sr" and "hw exit sr Ecity" (F7 avfartsvisare) has the wrong angle on the angled part. The angle should be about 30 degrees, see: https://www.transportstyrelsen.se/sv/Vag/Vagmarken/Lokaliseringsmarken-for-vagvisning/Avfartsvisare/

    2. Amazon are guessing, just like they have for ATS for the last year or so. Until SCS release the date, Amazon don't have a heads up. It's a made up date to get people to pre-order and give them money.

  30. Weeeee! so let me guess next ATS post will be screenshots and words like "our team is still working hard" ....

  31. I hope the signs will first and foremost match the number of lanes as modelled in the game world, and only match real roads as long as the first requirement is met.

Also, please keep the sign textures uncompressed (as before), so that they can be clearly read from a great distance.

  32. Fast sell dlc , me ready to buy

  33. Awesome. Please update about ATS.

  34. What the game really need - more reflective signs at night. When driving on country roads, it's very easy to lose necessary turn on a crossroad, because the signs are not visible until they are in a few meters distance. You're talking about driving without advisor - for me it's almost impossible... If I want reach my destination in time and not blinding constantly all traffic with my headlights.
