Trucks & Trailers gameplay video

The following short movie was required for approval process with Scania. It is a sort of visual "executive summary" - you can get an idea about the game and the looks of the R-series tractor in it quite quickly just by looking at this short clip.

We are happy to report that the video helped us get the final approval, and at the same time we have received inspiring feedback that we should change a few things, like adding side-skirts to the vehicle.

We have decided to share the video with you now. It is unedited, raw footage from the game, no cuts, no additional sfx or music - this is what you will get when you launch the game, and try out the simplest tutorial challenges.

  6. Yes I agree with others. Gameplay is much better than previous games but crashes still isn't raelistic. If you can SCS, you should improve that question in ETS2. And your driver is little.... fresh :D BTW, I buy it!

  7. Wow I like the background theme, and is there any possibility to upload video directly from the game to YouTube?

    ReplyDelete
  8. And one thing else. Pedestrians walking too loud in cabine. Interior should be hushed, and only engine should be audible (with turbo obviously :P), crashes and horns.

  9. Very neat menus, quite noble look.

  14. I hope you will take these tight parking spots to ETS 2 to ! Because it was too boring parking trailers in geman truck simulator. A trickier loading ramp dont heart anyone :D . And please forget the childeren noob drivers and they parents and make it a little more difficult :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. What about the parking brake, will it be set while driving ? :D SCS please do not make mistakes like that :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wow Génial !!

    But do the cabins move?

    ReplyDelete
  17. On the first run, the parking brake was on the whole time :L Great job though, would be nice if I could pre-order it because I want the game as soon as possible and it will help the financial problems with ETS2.

Nice trailers, nice looking interface, nice working mirrors, nice music

    -
Awfull truck sounds, wrong truck behaviour( play OMSI to see how large vehicles react on acceleration and braking), the acceleration is that from an F1 car, braking is totally unrealistic

Those - points should be fixed in ETS2, we are asking this from 18 wos Haulin...

  19. Thanks for video! I see that winning gold medal will be very hard job - but that's right, for sure!

Is music made by Silentnoise stuido again? It's pretty recognizable - and I love their tunes from your (and other famous czech) games. :-)

  20. I agree with Lolsmurf!Truck sounds are very awfull and the acceleration si that from a F1 car and breaking too.I don`t care how much time you will spend to repair this problem in ets2,just do it!

"SCS you earlier this year released 18 wheels of steal extreme trucker. What happened to money from the sale of this game? Is this the money reserve? Will it be an ETS 2 if T and T is not a success?
    Thanks for your answer."

To TruckerGal you said on the post from yesterday
"The dream, I suppose, would be a truck sim (or game-sim-hybrid) that allows for expansion, adding countries or states, kind of like those train simulators do."
This you can do in ETS 1. It's called mods. I've got a lot. One of them has South North (the US, Canada and Mexico) and Middle America. If you want I can post the link on this page. Thanks for the good answer. I have to give you credits about your English. Are you from Britain?

  24. Pros (+)
I love the Scania model. Fantastic work on the mirors. I love that the truck driver can see outside the window and backwards.

    Cons (-)
The acceleration is way to quick, its even quicker than in ETS. (In A-series trucks) Why did you collide on purpose, the collation was totally unrealistic.

The trucks in the game are, Scania, Renault, Daf, majestic and tree more.

Scs Software, did you distribute Euro Truck Simulator in Argentina? Answer me PLEASE

In ETS2 make that the cars can overtake in single roads PLEASE PLEASE

"This you can do in ETS 1. It's called mods. I've got a lot."

As mods, yes, I have done it myself to modify things to my liking (ever grateful to SCS for including an editor, never, ever abandon that, please!), I suppose I was thinking more along official stuff - whether it would be worth it for SCS I have no idea. Why? Because the problem with (mainly) map mods are they are not modular - if John makes new stretches of roads you love and Rick makes awesome cities and rest stops you cannot easily have both, alas. In the same fashion two people cannot work on expanding the world unless to do so as a team. This is perhaps what I really hope for, although how to attain this "easily" I am not certain.

"Thanks for the good answer. I have to give you credits about your English. Are you from Britain?"

You are most welcome, and thank you. No, I am not from Britain, but I did live there briefly. (c:

OMSI is a great example ... Is very nice simulator, and is very good with G25 Wheel :)

  30. TruckerGal you have a point. You said "if John makes new stretches of roads you love and Rick makes awesome cities and rest stops you cannot easily have both, alas. "
Since SCS have made a map editor who I suppose will be in ETS 2 also. Can they not make a map editor program, where people can work together to make a good map. They can use the map made for ETS 1 as an evaluation, on who can be at the "team"
This way SCS and the fans get as they want. SCS does not have to waste time on making an edition to the game. And we will get an edition. I see that making this program will cost some time and money. But think of the benefits. SCS can have all the rights to what is being made. And they can take paid for the edition if this is what they have to do. I only hope that if they take paid that the people helping them will get a free game.

  31. Just one asking.. I saw the T&T'll have the new Scania tractor.. Will it have the new Actros and the others ?

  32. ovidiu you better test your intelligence some time

Maybe they wanted to show collision courses. By driving like this.

Game is looking good and maybe find some way to stop such unthoughtful comments like above.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Stop spamming. They probably crashed on purpose to show Scania what happens if you crash.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ovidiu you are the most rued person who post on this blog. Get a bigger hat; you need it to your big head and ego.
And still you come with wrong comments. Study your stuff before coming with comments like this. "AND I'VE NEVER SEEN TRUCKS THAT CAN REACH 170km/h of SPEED." the trucks from their games cannot go at a speed of 170 km/t unless you cheat. These you can do simply by going to your save and open the document called game. Here you change the top speed, acceleration and brakes.

About the crashing in the game this was on purpose, I do not know why because the truck damage was unrealistic. But they probably wanted to show us the reset button who they press down to take the lap again. You are the LOL, with is a word we used in 2009. Are you 50?

The others who post bad comments are annonomus, you are not. Credits about that. We got the point the first time! why post it 8 times?

If you are not a fan, why wisit this game blogg?
Do you hate the game go somewhere else we do not need this children talk. Are you 5?

(yes I know I said that you are 5 and 50. Do not comment that)

  35. @ovidiu: shut up smelly romanian dog!

They just show us, what happens if you crash!

    AND STOP SPAMMING!

To all sensible people: Ignore trolls, they thrive on attention given as they wither without.

  37. TruckerGal you have a good point again, ignore them if you can.

SCS pleace go on this blog often so that you can delite that kind of stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Although I agree with TruckerGal (we should ignore him), I must react on something related. Calling that pathetic idiot "smelly romanian dog" is very rude to romanian people (I'm not from Romania, but lots of decent people here is, ohaha for example - isn't he normal guy?) Let's be civilized and forget that ridiculous nationalist rumours. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. ^ Indeed. Nothing good ever came out of name calling, least of all against people who sole intent seemingly is to stir things up.

SCS always come by here and removes said trollings, so try to play it cool, folks.

Thanks! I really felt that "romanian dog" s**t (which should have been, at least, written with a capital "R"), but it is somewhat... understandable. I even find myself barely keeping from calling some of my countrymen bad names! Unfortunately, the level of education is dropping fast around here, not to mention common sense.
    @SCS
The game looks really good. And, even if I tend to agree with people complaining about acceleration and braking, I must admit that the overall feeling is OK. Maybe, you should add an option menu for truck behavior, with defaults that mimic real trucks and specially modified variants, in terms of torque (that seems to be the main source for that awesome acceleration) and gear ratios. Results would then fall into different categories, just like real racing. You'd then have a non-modified category and a supercharged one, to differentiate leader-boards.
Anyway, congrats and best of luck with the earnings!!!

  41. Acceleration and deceleration in Trucks & Trailers are indeed unrealistic, way too quick, but that is intentional. In the context of the gameplay, where you often need to switch between back and forth driving all the time to hit the right spot, it makes for much more fluid game. This game is more about the skill of turning the steering wheel than about realistic acceleration. And we hope that we have come quite close to achieving our goals for what the gameplay is supposed to represent.

Based on the feedback from you here and on YouTube, it looks like we have the parking brake lever logic vice-versa on the Scania dashboard! :-( Once again it shows that as there are no experienced truck drivers among the SCS crew, we should consult more often with the community, and show you more of the game ahead of release. So we have a good reason for an early patch...

The collision in the video was on purpose, yes we know it's nothing spectacular for showing off, but you must take into account that the movie was created for Scania to see what happens in the game when you collide - that nothing dramatic happens really.

  42. Somebody ban 'ovidio' ,
reply to "shut up smelly romanian dog!" :

We have bad trees in our forests like every country , more or less .

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree with Chris. The reason ovido wrote that was because it was a spammer on this blog who said that they hated the game. This comment is now deleted by SCS.

Ovido, next time talk sense into the spammer, not make one wheel into a whole truck. The Romanian people are a good people. But all country has some black dogs. You have some in your to.

This is unacceptable. If you will not discuss the game, go somewhere else on the web. Thank you and welcome back when you have got your sense back.

    To Chris, ignore ovido. To paraphrase an old saying; "Ignoring is bliss". (c;

  45. @SCS this game looks like fun, I can not wait to buy it and play it.

@TruckerGal, I agree with your comments about the maps, could also allow SCS to make money by selling add-ons, just like another very niche market simulator I know called RealFlight, the add-ons add new airports and models to fly.

    ReplyDelete
  46. hey Ovidiu, you are a moron! The sentence trying to tell people to learn English is bad English. If your going to have a go at reasonable people about their English skills then at least get your English correct.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I've never seen this: "If your going to have "

you have to say: "Ig you are" or "If you're"

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB

    ReplyDelete
  48. To just point out something that you may not know, your is now used, mainly because of texting (sometimes it is even spelt ur). It is not queen's English, but a form of estuary English as used by Native Speakers such as myself.

    ReplyDelete
  49. ovidiu, your does exist, native people in the united states say it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi SCS , say something, you have removed antialiasing of ETS2 / T & T that greatly help antialiasing alpha textures for models if you can blend in, then it would be good!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Actually, your instead of you're (which already is short for "you are") is incorrect in any version of official English. It is no more correct than spelling nationality with a lower case letter. (c;

As for how you pronounce it, well, that is indeed identical.

But, languages change, "texting" no doubt playing a big part in it (alas).

Anyway, enough language lessons, insulting one another will solve nothing.

    @ SCS

Indeed, the community is an endless source of information, this blog was a great initiative for you and us alike. Best of luck with the sales! (c:

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ah yes TruckerGal, but there are normally considerable differences between an official language and that spoken on the streets, or at least in English there are differences.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good graphic, sound slightly better than ETS / GTS but still unrealistic, acceleration completely unrealistic. :-(((((

    ReplyDelete
  54. SCS, I understand that T&T is a game to fun with parking, and my comments are written thinking on ETS2, not on T&T. But also i write these thinking that T&T uses the same engine / dynamic / physics of ETS2. If no, don't read my comments.

  56. Just looked to pre-order this. Amazon UK. £17.99.RRP £24.99. This has to be a joke! After seeing this video there is no way I am paying that. For a game of this quality I would pay no more than £9.99. In a Truck Game/Simulator I want to feel like I am driving a truck. ET2 is the first game you have made that made me thing you where on the right track, after seeing this video, you have now gone backwards! Trucks are slow, that how they are ment to be, if I wanted to drive a Ferrari, I would buy a car racing game. Massively disapointed. Why Scania decided to give you a licence to use the Scania logo for this beat me, must have paid well over the odds for the licence is my guess, which is why I guess the game is retailing for well over the market price for a game of this standard. SCS=Same old Crap Standards.
