As you drive and deliver cargo properly, you gain experience. With experience growing, you level up. When leveling up, you earn skill points to spend. Concentrating on development of particular skills gives you the opportunity to specialize in particular cargo type or delivery patterns...

DeleteHere Here. All i see in the comments of this blog are we want this, we want that. Stop the moaning about everything and give SCS credit for what they're actually doing..... and if it's not good enough for you then simply don't play it.
DeleteSCS you are doing a great job ignore the whining little squirts who seem to make up a lot of your fanbase there are people out there who appreciate the huge steps you have taken to improve this niche genre.

DeleteOh yeah that's what he wrote already, read it again: make the shifting real or rename your game to Euro Truck Arcade 2, it won't deserve that name otherwise.
Shifting in every previous game is unrealistic. No delay between gears, no sound for putting in in neutral, even if fucking racing games there's a delay where the shift is done in 0,2 seconds, in trucks it takes atleast 0,7 to change gear.
Trucks and Trailers has a much-improved shifting system, I'd expect to see it make its way to ETS2, possibly with some refinements.

DeleteSCS have already said they dont have enough developers to incorparate that into the game, they have already mentioned this in the letter to the community, if you actually read that, you would know that they are going to do this in future games when they can expand the developers team
DeleteI agree,or at beginning of career can make contract with companies specialized for specified types of cargo,eg. quarries,wood industry,construction projects,local routes,various cargos types transport...this is just a my suggestion,SCS will do what is in their power.

i know those video's are in german. but the publisher is from germany and those games are just realesed in german speak country's.
you should think next time twice. it's not a 80$ game. it cost just 30$.
well i'm 15 but i know there are a lot scs soft gamers who are 20/30/40/50 etc. years old! and NFS is gettin worse. look at the run: those cars have a massively grip that you can't overstear at 120!
and NFS world: they can't even fix those buggs and every 3rd gamer is a cheater!

ReplyDeleteOh SCS thats looking great!! I wish I could know how those levels would affect to our driving. Its very difficult for me to imagine how they could work (less time, less fuel consumption,...) something like that?? Anyway, its an amazing idea to get the game´s gameplay much more better for just "Ey I am few steps of getting level up, I must drive more and more!!" heheh. And that "EcoDriving"?? Oh shit, is amazing to know that our driving skills will be also evaluate with our relative fuel consumption. Get on SCS, this is something I didnt expect. Greats from Basque Country!
ReplyDeleteHi! amazing work with the simulator :) A litte off topic, But I've noticed that gear change in Euro truck simulator 1 is not very realistic. Especially if you have max power and transmission. I hope that it will be more realistic in this simulator. Slower gearchange, If it should be realistic now, I have to start in 2, directly to 6 then to 10 then to 14. Maybe make som Lo and high series? And also improved sounds from airbreaks. Than you :)

We should be able to take the cargo even 7 hours before the time we must deliver it and go to the unload factory and wait till its gates are open or sleep etc.this would make it more realistic.

yes i want that but scs dont have skills for that, best vehicle vheels simulator for now is OMSI Omnibussimulator(is done mainly by two enthusiasts, but unfortunately only buses), if scs was good developers they will make similar or better but with trucks!
im sure 90% of fan base on scs games want to see realism on 90-100% in their games
I got to admit that these extra bit of things you are adding to the game should increase the fan base and help SCS increase its profits for this type of game that should then help to inprove future trucking games from SCS, we all know that this type of game is limited to the type of gamer who will buy it ( as its not main stream like call of duty etc ) but the fans that do buy the games will love the extra features you have added so far and are hopefully going to add a few more before the release date, as soo as the game is avaible for pre-order i will be one of the first to do so keep up the good work SCS

When the game starting I (gamer) buy a truck whit 3 axis.
When I go to the factory for cargo I decide that I pick up the cargo just my truck or conect a trailer with 5 or 3 or just 2 axis.

- reduced fuel consumption by 5, 10 and 15 percent
- improved acceleration and breaking by 5, 10 and 15 percent
- reduced amount of sleep till rested by ...
- longer driving time before rest by ...
- reduced fees for speeding etc. by ...
- faster refueling meaning time goes by slower when at a gas station, same ability possible for parking the trailer and getting a new one.
- if the player tired faster during night travel, you could have a night owl ability
DIFFERENT CARGO TYPES ON THE STANDARD TRAILER
Imagine you are driving from A to D and haul cargo AD. You stop in B to get cargo BC, drive to C und unload BC. Upon arrival at D you unload AD. This means the standard trailer has a certain amount of space available and a maximum cargo load, which you can exploit to the fullest. This requires some planing of routes ahead of time, instead of the boring "choose the cargo with the best ratio of money and distance".

DeleteIt would be good when have possibly to wear and damage truck parts such as tires and brakes (not need for visual damage) only damage/wear indicators,and their impact on driving performance.For example:worn-out tires causes more slip on rain or possibility to blowout,too much braking causes the faster brakes wasting and longer braking distance.So we must service and change vehicle parts with time if we want to be safe on the road.Tires and brakes wear indicator can work on similar principle like a fuel indicator.
ReplyDeleteAlso when we do a total truck damage then the truck is towed to the nearest city(or city we want) service/parking and we can choose if want to repair or sell it (instant repairing the total damage with "Call SOS 122" is unrealistic and too simple)
These are just my well-meaning proposals,not demands.
This is interesting idea. I would love to see in one of the future games, that truck gets used up from driving. It would be cool to implement truck services, but not not only for damage, but also for oil change, tire and brake usage and so on. In a nutshell that you need to check and service your truck from time to time, depending of truck usage and kilometers traveled. Think about it.

I agree.. this isn destruction derby.. is a truck simulator so visual damage is doesnt needed, but wear damage will be very useful

ReplyDeleteAnd the pictures of your small side-projects really triggered my curiosity! Looks like some european version of Extreme trucker. That would really be nice, as i am one of the few people out there who is really enjoying Extreme trucker.
I'm suggesting you to get Mega Mod for Extreme trucker 2, narrow Montana roads, many modded trucks, new trailers (doubles in montana), sound mods and so on... I hope they really make side-project as European extreme trucker, but they must do narrower road and really tight corners and parking spots... What I don't get is why they didn't add traffic in the woods (montana)...

Well, it COULD be nice with some dirty textures, after a long ride in bad weather, and some light damage textures like small scratches and dents if you accidentaly hit something, but what we see in the video is just too over the top...

DeleteGT5 is far from being a simulator. And it would still be a major mistake for a small company like this invest their time and money on shitty consoles. I bet if they had to make compromises between PC and console version, a lot of their PC fans would say "fuck it". There's still so much improving needed with the PC games they make, that even speaking about consoles is ridicolous.
