Euro Truck Simulator on Mac App Store

In recent months, we have received a lot of e-mails asking for bringing good old Euro Truck Simulator to OS X platform. It looks like penetration of Mac computers among the fans of truck sim games is growing.

Tonight, we finally received the confirmation e-mail from Apple that the game has been approved for release on Mac App Store!



We still have some work to do - ETS as well as Bus Driver still don't properly support steering wheels, gamepads, or joysticks as input devices on Mac. Fortunately this support is finally very close to completion, too, so both games will receive an update in a couple of weeks.

      May I make a very general suggestion for all your superb truck sim games?
      Firstly would it be possible to make the games more "lady" friendly? I am a woman and I adore your sims! My dad was a trucker and I was practically born in the cab so this is close to my heart. I find it a bit odd that some of the names in skill levels are a tiny bit too macho. Could it be possible to select "male/female" in the user options? Us ladies love to haul too!!
      Secondly I would love to see a trans China/Tibet highway location. This would be a REAL challange! As I have travelled by bus, extensivly on this road I know first hand at how dangerous it is and was even involved in a nasty smash on the side of a mountain. This would be fab if you could consider this! Kathmandu, Nepal road from Gorokpur, India would be superb too!!

    That's nice for Mac users.
    Me on the other had uses PC.

    Does anyone know if there are any truck sims out in the market from 2011 or if there wil come some in the first half of 2012.

    SCS: Of cause I also want to buy your games but I can not wait untill release of ETS 2. And you still haven't given uss some proper informaton about your small new game.

      What is the matter with you. STC have trubble making the money they need as it are. Why should they waste money on making their games work on PS3. Many of their coustomours will not pay dubble the money for the game. And there are enougth people pirate copying the game as it are. Dumb recrest.

    You are even right about that, but bad for those who like to play with steering wheels, joysticks because it is not compatible for Mac

    But guess it worth but at least these people feel a taste of being a truck driver ...

    That's great for Mac users, but I think if you really want to hit the jackpot with PC users, you should really think about making ETS2 available for Steam too. What do you think about it?

      as long as it is NOT Steam only . I know of other game manufactures who allegedly used Steam to avoid the game being pirated and know also that those games were still pirated and available anyway within days of release or even before. I certainly do not want to have to download and use something totally unneccessary as Steam

Because - you know - tell me about one, just one company which supplies their fans with news and pictures and videos about new game so often as SCS does. We saw enormous amount of ETS2 material from very start of this blog until today (not to mention lots of materials about ET2 and T&T). I'm so glad SCS doing it. And I'm also glad that time to time, I can hear about something different (but still related) from their kitchen.

      Nothing against games like bridge building, they are funny, but I think it's not for SCS. They should concentrate on big vehicles, they are better and better every year on this field.

      One day I though about truck racing game, something in mood of Rally Dakar. Of course it would be almost impossible to get Dakar license, but something in that spirit - driving truck through desert and mud, finding your way only with map and compass, maybe manage your team, accompanying truck, repairs... and maybe even upgrading your truck between seasons and so on. That's probably game which SCS could manage, with their experience, and maybe (I'm not game industry expert, so I'm saying maybe) it could interest more players then pure spedition games.

    Many, many congratulations, SCS! I'm always glad when I hear about your success. No matter if it's a milestone or partial success, no matter if it's business or technological success, I'm always proud on my beloved company, maybe small in number of people, but so big in size of hearts.

    I believe your games kinda fillig niche on Mac (well, maybe not so big niche, but still), it was smart move. So I wish you only the best with one of you most known games on App Store, may it be even bigger success then Bus Driver was! :-)

    Why the bitching and whining on here about this being made available for Mac systems . SCS are a small publisher and need to maximise their sales to stay in business . I would rather they did things like this than turn round and say "Thats it guys we are broke , no more games from us " . People on other operating systems have just as much right to enjoy games as people on windows .
    If the sales from this and other games help to finance better quality in ETS2 then keep doing it SCS .

      Look at entry from Feb 17 (ETS2 Skills) - there are six different ADR classes to achieve. Of course I can't say exactly methane will be in game, but I'm sure there will be wide variety of hazardous cargo. ;-)

    Sitting and twiddling my thumbs waiting for the release . I completely finished ETS and UKTS and got rid of Trucks and Trailors the day after i bought it ( biggest load of boring garbage i ever bought). So need a new truck sim to play

      I agree,gameplay concept of T&T was really stupid and unrealistic(park a truck in limited time and space...pain in the ass).With such games SCS will never earn serious money,they will just lose the trust of the community.I can only hope that ETS2 will not have anything similar with that game,except graphic.

      you know there are mods for the game at truckpol and the game was just to show us how good the graphecs are and phisiscs for ets2 but I loved it well not all the pain in the but parking but the mod is great!

    Now if you plan on making ETS2 for mac I will end up buying it twice, I would love you to get to the point where both mac and windows are released at the same time. With Microsoft screwing up windows 8 as much as they currently are I do not see another PC in my future good job I have a newish one.

      Hey, I have been trying to figure this out too, Im not sure if it is possible. However thanks to SCS for bringing this to the Mac App sore, loving it so far. When I saw bus driver on there a while ago I was hoping that euro truck sim would be coming to the mac app store and now its here, great work!

    Just bought ETS from Mac App Store. Loved it even though it is a couple of years old with the PC version.

    I am very eager in knowing if SCS is going to launch this new ETS2 in August for Mac along with its PC version. I wish they do that. I'll definitely buy ETS2 when it comes out for Mac. If not I will still buy the PC version but, I will always wish to have the Mac Version over the PC version.
