Server Overload Emergency!

Greetings!

It's not usual for us to publish two blogs in a single day, but it turns out that we need to apologize.

World of Trucks Contracts are more popular than we anticipated, the rate of registrations is currently overloading our server CPUs. We thought the Open Beta lasted long enough for us to understand what we can expect when going live, but obviously we still have some stuff to learn!

We are considering alternatives fast, but at this point, please be patient if World of Trucks might become unresponsive.

    1. Yeah, for know. But keep in mind that this is openning the door for their MMO game concept.
The more you are playing right know, the more they know what to expect...

    2. This is exactly what they don't get. They still can't believe how successful ETS2 has become. They don't seem to have the confidence that what they have done to date has worked well. SCS needs to stop covering their eyes and peeking through their fingers hoping nothing bad will happen. Something bad will happen if they don't take a chance and get these servers going right now. Players have been waiting for a new aspect of game-play for ages, now we have it and it is up to SCS to support it and us by having confidence in their abilities and giving us what we need which is more servers. You're going to have to use this as a forerunner to the MMO. This will succeed if you help it/us.

    3. Well that is what i hope to see in the near future. ETS2 and ATS as a MMO game. This two game will share the same engine that is 7 or 8 years old. As we can all see the graphics i this game dont make much progress and look like they belong to 2010 era at best. So at least if we dont get a good trucking game with the graphics like lets say GTA V, Just Couse 3 or Asseto Corsa, then at least a fun interactive online gameplay will do. I think for the MMO world the graphics and engine of this game are decent enough for the time being. But as a stand-alone singleplayer game, ETS2 has no place in this era we live in, its an excuse for a game and the only reason why its still exist is because there is no other trucking game made by a triple A developer out there, so hopefully ETS2 along with ATS will grow in popularity and other game devs will see the oportunity to cash in on this genre and provide with a real trucking simulator belonging to this era.
Dont expect ATS to be a much better game, like i said they share the same old engine. Its just a copy/paste of ETS2 repacked with a new name. SCS plan to sell us the same game for the next 4 or 5 years. A money making DLC machine ;)

  4. To me appears this message: Connection with World of Truck's lost.
Whats happens with this? Im lost all my job details?

    1. NO you won't lose any job details! it will not affect your job. but it fails to save the current place where you are travelling. when the computer gets the server response.. You will be able to play the game normally..

The only thing will happen is that it will not save your progress till you connect to the WOTr servers..

  8. What kind of server infrastructure are you running? Would be interesting to have more insight into your stack. Also, you guys should use a 3rd party service like Pingdom or something to have a status page now that you are going to be an MMO company.

  10. SCS Are you guys planning to have your own multiplyer online in the future?

    1. They mostly speak about that in some interviews. But they want a new concept. Something like a big MMO. In the future they plan to connect ATS and ETS2 together via the World of Trucks platform...

    2. It would be so great if we could have DLC for every country in the world, a kind of World Truck Simulator. SCS, you need to bring in the guys from ProMods and TSM. You would have one hell of a mapping staff. ProMods have said that as soon as ATS is released they are going to mod it so why don't you use them and pay them.

  13. I rolled back to 1.21 immediately when I opened the mod manager and noticed that some important mods for me were not supported. And I'm not a fan of the online stuff, not even connect my profile to WoT (although I believe it's a pretty nice job of this online contract mode). So anyway, I'm waiting for the mod update to get me into the latest version.

  16. I had to cancel a contract...I started one and had time to get there (don't remember the time remaining so I'll say 13 h) and I'd get to my destination in 15 hr...I had to leave for work so I saved and quit...when I got home from work, I started ETS2 to finish my delivery but the time remaining was 8 hr and I still had 15 hr to my destination
