SCS On The Road: IAA 2024

Today, we're excited to share our experience attending this year's International Automobile Exhibition (IAA), hosted at the Hannover Messe venue in Hannover, Germany. This event is one of the most important on the calendar for truck manufacturers worldwide and serves as the leading platform for logistics, commercial vehicles, and the transport sector to showcase their products, innovations and ideas to the world.

This year, we were honoured to have our simulation titles and 4D motion rigs featured across the exhibition floor, thanks to our amazing partners. This, of course, would not have been possible without the hard work of our colleagues at SCS Software, who transported all the necessary gear, including our 4D motion simulators (even the one usually kept in our office), from Prague to Hannover. Join Mark, Nemiro, and Oscar in this special On The Road Vlog as they travel to IAA and share their experiences from the show.

Naturally, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to speak with some of our hard-working partners, including Kögel Trailer, Wielton Group, and Trailer Dynamics, all of whom are featured in this special vlog. We even had the awesome opportunity to be invited to talk with Krone on the Denkfabrik stage. And, of course, we had to showcase some of the amazing trucks, trailers, and more found across the show floor.

Whilst this was an incredibly busy time for us all, we are very proud of how recognised our simulation titles have become in the real-world automotive industry. A huge thank you goes out to all of our partners for allowing us to be a part of their exhibits and booths, and we look forward to 2026 when IAA TRANSPORTATION returns to Hannover.

If you enjoyed this special vlog from our time at IAA 2024, be sure to like, comment and subscribe to our official YouTube channel. It really helps support our content! We look forward to sharing more with you in 2025 as we continue on the road.

Nordic Horizons: Skellefteå

Hello, #BestCommunityEver! Fancy some Nordic Horizons news? Well, we have some right here for you. Today, we would like to show you the city of Skellefteå, which is currently being developed for this upcoming Euro Truck Simulator 2 map expansion.

Skellefteå is located near the northeastern coast of Sweden and is one of the highlights of Swedish Lapland. The city's population is more than 36,000 citizens. Its nickname is Guldstaden which means "gold town" because of Skellefteå's rich industrial and mining history, which was especially focused on gold.

As is always the case with cities we build for our map expansions, you will find plenty of landmark buildings inspired by their real-world counterparts in Skellefteå. These include several office buildings, a massive parking structure adorned with the Skellefteå logo, a unique hotel constructed entirely of wood, and alchemical signs symbolizing different materials displayed along a large gangway in the industrial area.

Naturally, you will also come across plenty of job opportunities in the local industries. We have mentioned the rich industrial history of the city, and that is why we just couldn't leave out the local steelworks company.

Other than that, truckers can pick up cargo in Skellefteå's logistics depot, building materials store, heavy machinery depot, and even a brand-new, yet-to-be-announced depot - but we won't spoil all the surprises for you now!

We hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peek into this upcoming map expansion for ETS2. If you are excited about the Nordic Horizons DLC, make sure to add it to your Steam Wishlist! Stay tuned for more updates by following us on our TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube. And be safe on the road!

SCS On The Road: Elmia Lastbil

Today we're happy to share a new episode in our SCS On The Road series! In this video, we're taking you back to the summertime when we had the opportunity to attend Elmia Lastbil, an international trade fair for the transport and trucking industry hosted in Jönköping, Sweden. In collaboration with Scania Trucks, we were able to share the experience of our 4D Motion Simulator and offer a virtual test drive of their Scania S BEV at our virtual 1:1 recreation of the Scania Test Center located in Södertälje with attendees at the show.

Join Mark as he chats with James Cotino, Exhibit Unit Specialist at Scania Group and shows you around one of the largest haulage and transport events in the Nordic Region. The show was well attended with over 400 exhibitors plus an incredible array and variety of trucks and trailers from all over Europe. We were also lucky enough to check out the Nordic Trophy, which is an event where custom show trucks from all over the Nordic region come together to be judged in hopes of winning the title. If you love custom trucks, airbrushed paint jobs and more, you won't want to miss this!

We'd like to once again thank our partners at Scania for allowing us the opportunity to collaborate with them at their booth for this event. We really had a fantastic time and enjoyed giving attendees from across the world the opportunity to virtually test drive the Scania S BEV in Euro Truck Simulator 2. We also hope you enjoyed watching this recap! If you did, consider leaving a like or a comment under the video on YouTube. Until next time, keep on truckin'.

Missouri - Underground Warehouses

Another piece of the puzzle from the upcoming Missouri map expansion for American Truck Simulator is here, our #BestCommunityEver! Today, we are eager to show you the unique underground warehouses you will find and deliver cargo to in the Show Me State. Let's take a look!

You will come across four underground warehouses while trucking in this map expansion, all inspired by their real-world counterparts. The biggest one is located in Kansas City, and it is in fact the largest underground business complex in the world!

Mining of limestone began here in the 1940s using the room and pillar method. This process left behind a network of tunnels separated by massive limestone pillars. Over time, these spaces evolved into a series of rooms, domes, halls, corridors, and columns. Today, the site serves as an ideal storage facility, used by hundreds of companies to store a wide variety of products, thanks to its stable year-round temperature and humidity.

Another facility is located in Springfield, also within a former limestone mine. Although it is roughly half the size of the one in Kansas City, it still spans an impressive 3.2 million square feet (nearly 300,000 square meters). The facility is highly active, accommodating over 600 trucks daily and even features a train connection.

Similar in size is another underground warehouse located in the southwest of Missouri near the city of Joplin. It is mainly used for food storage so even though the storage space is fairly cold, it is being further chilled with refrigeration units on the surface.

If you head south of St. Louis, you will come across the smallest one of them. But don't be mistaken, this warehouse is still pretty big as it is located in an old limestone mine again and you will be able to deliver plenty of different cargo in and out of there.

We hope you are looking forward to exploring these unique warehouses in the Missouri DLC. If you do, make sure to add this map expansion to your Steam Wishlist! And don't forget to follow us on our X/TwitterFacebookInstagram, and YouTube, so you won't miss out on any American Truck Simulator news. Until then, keep on truckin'!

Additionally, we reached out to several content creators from across the internet to share their thoughts on the Greece DLC, which you can read below! We greatly appreciate their feedback and dedication to creating content around games. Don’t forget to visit their channels and give them a follow to support their work.

ES8Gaming

"The Greece DLC is a fantastic addition to Euro Truck Simulator. SCS Software releases a DLC that gets better and better every time. Once again, they've done a fantastic job with this DLC, which I know ETS2 players really enjoy. Getting out on the road and exploring the many detailed cities this wonderful DLC has to offer brings a huge amount of immersion and realism. I really enjoy exploring Greece. It's great fun to discover the amazing landscapes along the way. I'd like to thank SCS Software for the really great work they've done with the Greece DLC and all the work they've created in the past. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they have planned for the future!" - ES8Gaming.

RyaStream

"Coming from someone who did not know much about Greece going into this DLC, after just a short drive on this map, I found myself ready to plan a trip to this country in real life! SCS has completely raised their bar once again with one of the most scenic maps I have yet to experience. This map is eye candy in every single corner, especially the islands and the port cities. During my live streams, I kept asking "How did they make this?" The detail is even more than I thought possible and it is one of my favourite maps yet!" - RyaStream

Milan

"The Greece DLC is a stunning addition to ETS2. The mountains add a sense of splendour to every journey, with their twisting paths offering both challenging and breathtaking panoramas. As you explore further, landmarks like the Corinth Canal and Meteora Monasteries give a sense of history, making the map feel realistic. Some of the city roads can be narrow and challenging, but that’s part of what makes this DLC so special, it feels real. From the islands to the urban centres, every detail feels thoughtfully crafted. Greece in ETS2 feels alive, vibrant, and deeply rooted in its rich culture and history, making it an unforgettable addition to the game. I believe it’s a must-have for anyone who loves ETS2." - Milan

Simulator Adventures

"The Greece DLC is not just beautiful, it adds seriously challenging routes for truckers to master! You'll be driving around the tightest of streets while admiring ancient monuments, stunning vistas, and incredible modern architecture. In my opinion, Greece may be the most varied map DLC yet for Euro Truck Simulator 2. So much detail is packed into every corner, and it's well worth venturing off the mainland to any of the five Greek islands. The new industries of olive oil and marble add a Greek flavour to the job market, while the addition of deliveries at hotels provides for some of the best parking challenges you'll ever encounter!" - Simulator Adventures

Trucker Cassie

"I had such a good time with the Greece DLC. While cruising the beautiful roads, big and small, I could almost feel the Mediterranean heat outside the truck!  I've been wanting to explore Europe in a truck, and with Euro Truck Simulator 2, I can. Sharing the trips with my viewers and fellow online players has brought me so many laughs and good memories. My favourite part is the ferries, hehe! The Greece DLC really shows how much the developers care about their game and fanbase. It struck me how detailed everything is, and it almost felt like exploring Greece for real! Thank you SCS Software for bringing us new adventures!" - TruckerCassie

We’d like to take a moment to express how amazed we are by the incredible efforts of our community in the #CruisingGreece World of Trucks Event. The community goal was to drive 200,000,000 km while delivering cargo to or from any city in Greece, a milestone you achieved in under two weeks. Wow! For those with a busy schedule over the holiday season, don’t worry, you still have until February 2, 2025, at 23:59 UTC to complete your personal goals. You can read the full event rules in our dedicated blog post.

To wrap things up, we want to thank you once again for your unwavering support, kind reviews, and constructive comments. Our developers continually work hard to deliver great content, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see it reflected in your positive feedback. Thank you all so much!
