Living screenshots

The blog may have been a bit too screenshot-heavy in the recent weeks, so we are trying something new for today - a movie. Normally we would present an interesting spot in our virtual Euro Truck Simulator 2 world by a few screen shots here, but instead let us show you the scene alive. We know that you are hungry for information and this kind of simple movie doesn't reveal much more than the screenshots of old, but please have patience with us, good things are coming for ETS2!

If you think it is a good idea to show more of the game this way, we may do it more often in the future.

Somewhere in Italy

We have a fresh batch of Euro Truck Simulator 2 screenshots for today.

Many of  you are asking for more news about the game and gameplay, hopefully we'll be ready to share a bit more about what are up to during September. We are reluctant to show unfinished things - we have started this blog with the intention to show things raw, still very much under development, but too many people visiting the blog just did not get it. The amount of negative reactions to any small rendering imperfection in the early screenshots has taught us to keep our cards closer to our chest.

SCS is at GamesCom

We've spent a couple of days visiting GamesCom, the most important European gaming exhibition, taking place in Cologne, Germany. We are not among the exhibitors; truck games genre unfortunately doesn't generate such fortunes for us to be able to spend them on expensive promotion. We have come to talk business - in addition to public halls, two of the expo ground halls are reserved for trade visitors to network among themselves, and that's where we are spending most of the time. We can build the games, but we rely on our publishing and distribution partners to manufacture the boxes, to get them into retail stores and ultimately into your hands. Finding the right partnerships for publishing can make or break a game, it is at least as important as building a decent quality game.

We have also spent some time in the expo halls. They are awfully loud, very crowded, and mostly focused on the male visitors, as you can perhaps appreciate from the following sample photos.

Across the mountains

Drive extra carefully!

Until SCS Software announces that Euro Truck Simulator 2 is ready for release, any release dates you find on the Internet are pure speculation. We are far from done with the development, we will still need considerable time to finish the things we have started.

AI cars on small roads

This post's images may shed some light on the question if our new ETS2 AI system implements overtaking on small roads...

Another interesting bridge

Another of the many recognizable landmarks that we have built for Euro Truck Simulator 2 to make the discovering of the virtual world more entertaining compared to our previous games...

This set of Euro Truck Simulator 2 images is from Belgium.

Trucks & Trailers in stores in Scandinavia

Finally our Trucks & Trailers game is also available as a boxed product in the Nordic countries. The game was released by Wendros, and thanks to help from the community comes with localizations into Danish, Swedish, Finnish and two variants of Norwegian. Thanks!

Where highway meets railway

If you look carefully, it is not too difficult to guess which place in the real world has become an inspiration for this particular piece of Euro Trucks Simulator 2 map.

Euro Truck Simulator in Brazil

Our first success with distribution of our games in Latin America - the original Euro Truck Simulator is available as a boxed CD product in Brazil now, thanks to Tech Dealer. Hopefully we have found a gateway to reach our fans in Brazil with our future game releases as well.

The new release of the game is actually a really good value - it is a bundle of Euro Trucks Simulator Gold plus UK Truck Simulator and German Truck Simulator.
