Truck brand licensing

Here is a small example of what goes on during our licensing talks - as we try to prove to truck manufacturers that having their vehicles portrayed in our games is no harm for them, but rather a benefit, pictures are a very illustrative argument...

  3. The seccond last picture of renault premium is spetialy grate. And offcourse good job on all the trucks. Hope companies will agree soon, or should i say realize their benefit from this game.

  4. Wow, these Renaults looks jaw-dropping!
I don't see any reason why Renault wouldn't accept their brand in ETS2. You can't kill, there is no blood, you can't damage the truck...

    Best of luck!

  5. I'm happy with this. I so much like that...Specially premium is looking hot..I hope you can work it...http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B07YeH2liPY/TmoNHvgdNOI/AAAAAAAAAYs/5rAi1XnMoT0/s1600/renault_premium_racing_003.jpg

  8. Good luck with all licensing talks. Manufacturers should realise gamers want to drive the "real thing" in a truck sim. Let's hope they all agree.

    ReplyDelete
  9. There will be trucks with logos either way, modders will do their job so might aswell get it over with legally.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Great skins! Im sure u'll get the licence!

  11. It's very sad that huge corporations aren't aware of free publicity that you give them. I think that they should be the ones paying you (especially for making their trucks a bit better than in reality ;) )

  12. Does anybody know how much this game will gost?

  13. Yes, SCS! YES! Keep it up, don't give up! :D

  17. Hei SCS Soft. One of the best game companies.
This truck is incredible. And these roads also.
If this simulator be like this images, will be wonderful.
But the computer should be more potent.
Could publish here on the blog the ideal PC for this game ?

And a particular request : more interactive interior, as in OMSI - The Bus Simulator.

We need more than good looks.
Need to feel in the truck. With all the problems and joys of a trucker.

    Tank you.
I'm Gean, from Belo Horizonte, Brasil. We want the game here too, Ok !

  18. Hopefully we will be able to skin our trucks and interioers, they should also put Scania in this, if they did, I would be so happy!

Raimond, how should anybody know, how much this game will cost? The price will be decided by the developers, when the game is ready to ship. Only then they can calculate the final developing expenses and start to predic the selling numbers etc. All these are very important factors, when making the decision for the final price. I would say, it's gonna cost around 50€, maybe littlebit less.

  22. Splendid pictures. Good luck and keep up the amazing work SCS Software team.

  23. Sincerely, SCS Soft, any help they need you can talk.
Us, fans of Euro Truck Simulator, Gran Turismo, Forza MotorSport, Need for Speed, among other simulators, we will be happy to help, maybe not all, but i think great help you, SCS Soft.

  24. Great pictures. Renault brand it's awesome. I love it. And please, make this game the best and most real of all. Please make trucks to become dirty. And I want to say something about reality games. Everything is too perfect in a game! FOR EXAMPLE: you buy a second hand truck, looks like new. There is even a spot of rust. Or when you hit the truck remain intact without a scratch. That's all try to tell you about dirty trucks. Or about trucks damaged.

SCS SOFTWARE TEAM, PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT! MAYBE IT WILL INSPIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scs,this is perfect.I mean, the grafics in your games were always solid, but this, this is masterpiece.
I see you will gonna make a great game and I wish to you to have great success with this game,to have a lot of money earned,so you can make a ETS3. :D

    Regards

  28. The Premium is perfectly made.. a masterpiece! Please SCS, make some limited editions of other brands like Scania Diamond (google for it) or others. Last, but not least, show us a in a video how the barriers are working and the railway crossings.

  29. Great work! Good luck with the manofacturers!

I think there is no reason to refuse this, the trucks don't crash or get broke in the game so there is no bad publicity for them at all.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Exactly. We need of truck get dirty and break.
I know that a vehicle is damaged in a game is hard, but would be really cool.
land on the windshield and cab would be spectacular.

On German Truck Simulator, when I go to the quarry, dusty and more dusty rises, but my truck stay clean.

Tanks again SCS Soft. Has no way to thank that you do, a truck simulator.
Tank you and...... tank you !

  31. Awesome photos!!

On first sight the photos looked so real :))

Having their brands in the game is indeed a benefit!!
Your games are so advanced and the models are so nice that it indeed can't harm their vehicles :))
I hope so hard not only Renault but also all others are willing to sign the contract that you can use all brands :))

  32. My goodness... that's so beautiful. Absolutely eye-candy for any truckin' fan. If I were a truck manufacturer owner, I would beg (and pay) you to put my brand into ETS2.

After all, I don't know why manufacturers still consideing that license can harm or not harm their brands. Aren't your previous truck games sufficient proof that there is no violence nor other kind of crime? Didn't Euro Truck Simulator won EuroTra Safety Award? Simply don't know where's the problem.

P.S.: Environment looks fantasic too! :-)

  35. When I look to this pictures I realize how much this game grow since the first Hard truck 18 wheels of steel. It is outstanding the quality of texture used for the road, you can see detailed grass near the edge of the asphalt and for trucks also. It is unbelievable how nice the truck looks.
    Speechless!

SCS don't forget that the time gives the quality for a product , and this game is the proof that your work is valuable for us, fans! We are interested in this game. Maybe you cannot implement and develop for ETS 2 all the features we want to be a perfect game, but you are on the right way definitely!

I appreciate your work. I can't wait to buy the game!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I´m on your side scs! I can understand your opinion and your fear , I hope so that your hard work will be a big success, all fans must buy ETS2!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I cant see the truck manufacturers being too happy if SCS decide to include damage and dirt effects on their trucks, as smart as it would be I cant see it happening.

  38. Very good! But we have the mode online for this game...

    ReplyDelete
  39. "Very good! But we have the mode online for this game..."

I think we all wishes this but the SCS-team is small compared to other developers so I prefer they work first on ETS2 as planned and as they are doing now and then release it ..
Once released and we (all the fans) buy it they can start thinking of a patch that allows people to play online (if this is possible ofcourse)
So they make money by selling and have it to spend on patch(es) to enhance simulation :)

  41. brilliant work as always, hope to god scs will survive after this game because they make the most interesting games on the market. Maybe an off roading game would be more of a top seller aswell as your truck games. just a thought. and also is that a range rover in the right hand side of the first picture?

    well done scs :)

think about location of the MOD folder
it is very inconvenient when the folder is located by default on the SYSTEM drive

  44. I'm a some addicted to this blog. Is very cool fallow the ideas of the players.

Has some good, some not. But the fascination of people for simulators moves this blog.

A person here said : "SCS don't forget that the time gives the quality for a product ". And she's right. Maybe Euro Truck Simulator 2 don't be a century best truck simulator. You can made a Euro Truck Simulator 3 after.

"I cant see the truck manufacturers being too happy if SCS decide to include damage and dirt effects on their trucks, as smart as it would be I cant see it happening". This would be very interesting. Show the strength of their trucks and not weaknesses.

"Very good! But we have the mode online for this game...". Yes, online mode would be really cool, but it would be hard to do. Maybe on ETS3 or ETS4.

    Gean from Belo Horizonte.

  58. Yes but GTA dont have licenced vehicles, probably for this very reason

  59. " No multiplayer, not worth the effort and the time. "

All you have to understand that making such a multiplayer game is a little tricky.
The servers must communicate several trucks at the same time. You stop and continue your game when you want playing alone, but in multiplayer the clock should pass the same for everyone, so the delivery time of cargo could not exist.
Keep an online game generates a lot of expenses. Nobody wants to pay monthly, or want?
If we had to pay, hackers would create phantom servers.
Look at the problems that Sony has due to Playtation Network! Maybe when the SCS Soft growing, in the near future, we will see many games online.

And we will do everything to see it grow much, buying their games, that even in Brazil, where taxes on technology are immense, their games are still accessible.

Tank you again SCS Soft, We Love u.
