Eurotunnel

The following set of images may be of interest especially for our fans in the UK - they are showing one of the means to reach continental Europe.

Disclaimer: Any presence of real-world brands in the development screenshots is not indicative of what we will be allowed to put into the finished game. Negotiations are still under way.

  18. Really nice pictures. I love the train, it's so moderna and real. The Volvo is just as good as the real thing. It looks fantastic from inside and out. The graphics overall look so nice. The tunnel seems like quite a place. I have heard of it before. It's the one that goes under the English Channel, or whatever that water body is separating continental Europe and UK. I know trains go under there, I never knew about vehicles. See, your game is educational too. Oh and by the way, I am an American, I've never been to Europe, but if your game is good enough, I will get an idea of what it is like.

    Keep it up! Fantastic Work!!!!

  19. Nice! but the train is made too wide!! in real you haven't so much place!

    SCS,

    Great job as always. However why is the steering wheel on the right side of the truck?

    maybe because it's a british truck, they drive left in the UK so the steering wheel is on the right side there

  42. Driving onto the train itself looks exactly as in the Eddie Stobart TV show, so very nicely made. (c: Well, it is less narrow, but I would hate to be forced to drive with a couple of inches on each side without the freedom that real life offers to look around. (c;

    As for the trip, the driver in real life just sits with others, so it is a regular train ride. Not much to show, really.

    Very nicely done, SCS. Very nicely done.

  45. Hello from Barcelona.

    I see that the driver is on the right seat because British people drive by right.
    Very good, but I have a question:

    For example: I start the game in France, Do I drive my truck in England by left or right?

    Thanks, and good job

    ReplyDelete
  46. thats so cool, I hope that the release will be come very fast

  47. Great! I hoped-for Channel Tunnel, operated by trains -- as in reality. In fact I never been there, I can't compare how much close to real one you built it, but it looks awesome and I'm more then satisfied. Thanks for my wish became true. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've never been there, but I'm sure it's pretty close to reality.

    A suggestion: I'd like it that you'd sometimes be able to drive different trucks in the game without having to buy a new truck every time. I mean, it would be great if the player picked a certain company to work for and a trailer of his own, but from time to time it would be nice to be asked to take part in jobs which involve driving a different truck. For example, one could be asked to take another one of the company's truck for a special delivery or something like that ... What I mean is, to be able to swap trucks from time to time.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This is really impressive! Amazing job scs! And the trailer is fantastic!!!

  53. Perfect!
    Everything on these pics is perfect!Volvo is awesome,both inside and outside.I specially love the interior.It is much better than interior in ETS1.I hope to see retarder in game(must have),and it will be coll to have that turbo and other gauges working(if not,ok,it`s not necessary,but it would be great).
    SCS you are doing a great job,just continue like this and ETS2 will be one great game.

    PS:I know that you are often asked about this,but I think that it will be nice to introduce us to map and cities in game.

    I hope, that the AI also drive at the trains!

    That looks very nice, having been on the train a few times myself (in car not truck) it looks as close to reality as it could.

    I also couldn't help to notice that the wheel is in the right side, does this mean that we'll have left and right hand driven trucks ? like if you buy a truck in UK will you then always sit in the right side even in the rest of Europe ?

    ReplyDelete
  56. New trailer is good SCS.
    Is add on another trailer in the game?
    For example lowbed trailer, reefer container on gooseneck...

  57. Very Beautiful! =D

    You really did a great job on quality =) hope it will not lag ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wauw very beautiful SCS!! This brings AGAIN more reality in the game :)
    When we play the game we can actually pretend being real drivers thanks to the many changes and reality you put in the game :)

    Maybe bit weird request but maybe you should make a group-photo of the SCS team so we can see who's creating the game we all wanted :D

  59. Wonderful!
    The game would become totally perfect if you add North&East Europe and realistic seasons with etc. early autumn in north of Europe and late in south.
    I'm gonna be the happiest person in the world if you add this!! :DDD
    It could also be the content of some later ETS2 expansions ;)

  60. what i didnt like from the ets gts series is the light flares, there are too dark and i didnt understand why it couldnt better programmed. my wish for the ets 2 is brighter street lights and car lights and reflections on the road if it rains.

    thats all

    anyway the new simulator looks fine good work.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Fantastic screenshots! It's great to see another real-world location, along with all the new visual assets, like the new cars (Skoda Octavia FTW!), new cargo and trailers and the improved HDR.

    By the way, how do you plan to implement the Eurotunnel Shuttle? Is it going to be a fast-travel gameplay element (like the ferry of ETS1) or will it actually move on the map? Since the Eurotunnel is about 50 kms long (being thus roughly as big in-game as the Dusseldorf-Duisburg distance in GTS), it must take about 5-6 minutes to go through it in-game, so both would be a doable implementation. :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. OMFG!!!!This is fucking awesome

    ReplyDelete
  64. scssoft plz don't forget to add the Hindhead Tunnel in ETS2.It's on an English road called the A3 and is about 1/2 mile east of the Southern UK Village of Hindhead

    ReplyDelete
  65. Fantastic, never expected this and it is very welcome. Looks awesome, thanks SCS :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. I hope if they have ferries again then the entrance to the ports and the ferry on/off ramps are not as steep . It always annoyed me scraping the back of the trailer on the ground getting on and off them and then having to pay for that damage . Hope its not just Eurostar

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  70. wow, 4th picture looks perfect
    that will be a wonderful sim
    good work

    ReplyDelete
  71. Awesome! The only way this could be any more real is if the driver in front of you fails to make a wide enough turn to get his trailer on the train and spends the next ten minutes reversing and pulling forward, reversing and pulling forward, reversing and pulling forward...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hey SCS.
    I'm seeing you are putting other chassis configurations, as trucks with two rear axles.
    So why not put a more complete line of trucks makers ? With trucks of two axles, long chassis, various versions of cabs and more trucks models.
    For example:

    Mercedes Benz:
    - Accelo 915 C;
    - Atego 1718;
    - Atego 1728;
    - Atego 2428;
    - Axor 2035;
    - Axor 2040;
    - Axor 2044;
    - Axor 2533;
    - Axor 2544;
    - Axor 2644;
    - Actros 2546;
    - Actros 2646;
    - Actros 4844 Basculate.

    Volvo:
    - FL;
    - FE;
    - FM;
    - FMX;
    - FH;
    - FH16;
    - VM;

    Scania:
    - P 380;
    - G 400;
    - R 500;

    I don't think that all these trucks should be part of the game. I just think it should have more than Actros, FH16, Stralis....

    Thank you SCS Soft. You do a fine job.
    Gean from Belo Horizonte.

    ReplyDelete
  73. With more trucks available, we could develop companies more complete(if you have to ride companies as the German Truck Simulator).

    For example: Could start with a Atego, a truck with much lower price, making small deliveries in towns until can buy a Atego, and then a Axor, and then a Actros, and other Actros, a Volvo FH16, and then grow, buy garages......

    For this cities should be higher, with more streets. Giving focus not only road transport.

    Thank you SCS Soft.
    Gean from Belo Horizonte.

    ReplyDelete
  74. For example, start with a Accelo 915 making a mall transport on towns, from towns to farms and farms to towns, transporting milk, fresh, for example.
    And then buy other truck, a garage, other truck, hire a driver.

    We also need a better simulation of economy. To earn and spend money on a difficult closer to the European.

    Thanks SCXS Soft.
    Gean from Belo Horizonte.
    Thanks !

  75. DO NOT Just TELEPORT

  76. please make the game have so much content that it is over 4gb.

    scs is the best!!!

  77. " Anonymous said...
    please make the game have so much content that it is over 4gb. "

    Like I said, lots of content, entire families of trucks, big cities with a larger area of the real, dealers of new and used trucks, workshops, rubber, coffee shops, car wash(truck wash), anything like the real.

    Gean from Pampulha - Belo Horizonte - Minas Gerais - Brasil.

    ReplyDelete
  78. We need of a better economy simulator.

    ReplyDelete
  79. As much as we would like it, they cannot spend time making too many different trucks and such, or it will not come out even in 2012.

    Me, I rather "teleport" to the other side of the tunnel; sitting in a traincar in a tunnel is not why I play truck simulators. (c;

    ReplyDelete
  80. thats so great with the eurotunnel, I´m so hungry about ets2

    ReplyDelete
  81. ^^ Yeah, transport under La Manche itself is probably worked out now, maybe even done, but I'm absolutely OK, if it's teleport.

    ReplyDelete
  82. please more new stuff about Euro Truck Simulator 2

    like map and motorways or registration, tuning, stickers etc.

    ReplyDelete
  83. TruckerGal has right, I want to drive my truck, not staring at the screen for minutes while parking in a train. :D

  88. maybe you can integrate a rail loading also in switzerland, italy or in austria

    like this:

    http://www.eberhardt-travel.de/fotogalerie/reisebild/id/68389/bildname/L%C3%B6tschberg-Bahnverladung.jpg

    http://www.railway-technology.com/projects/lotschberg-tunnel/images/8-freight-train.jpg

    it would bring more variety and then everyone can decide for himself whether he takes the train or not

    regards

    ReplyDelete
  89. Well done SCS, great job!
    I think personally it shouldn't teleport, and as others said have a depart and arriving animation, so when people they enter the tunnel, it fades away, then they arrive, so the arriving animation starts.

    I always hoped to have Eurotunnel on ETS, as I use it at least 3 times every year (both ways), now it is on it.

    I'm so buying this game!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I don't think the animations are bad, will end with the game. The focus of the game is simulation.
    If skip the engaging and releasing trailer, the realistic part of the game will end.
    The game should show us what the truck is. Skip the difficult parts of driving a truck "ends with the simulation".

    As put content for less and end up faster not worth it. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a large project, would be nice to have more trucks and larger cities and have the game im 2012 November. On the contrary I prefer to play "German Truck Simulator".

    Start the game with a Mercedes Benz Accelo 915 transporting milk, fresh, and wheat from a farm for a bakery in the city may even be exaggerated. But it would be much more realistic. Many great truckers and even owners of carriers start with small trucks as a Volkswagen Worker 8-150E or a Mercedes Benz Accelo 915 C, or worse, a Hyundai HR.

  92. Astonishing! Speechless!
    It is an amazing graphic, amazing model for truck, amazing details inside the cabin! I hope Goodyear, Volvo, Mercedes, Iveco, Man, Renault and others truck producers will sign a contract with you to promote their brands into your game! They can win big statistics with you from players! They need an open mind! Good luck with the game! I will buy it!
