Cruising Oklahoma World of Trucks Event

We are delighted to invite you on Tuesday, the 1st of August, to celebrate the release of our new Oklahoma DLC, by taking part in our latest World of Trucks event - Cruising Oklahoma! From mountain ranges and forests, over prairies and savannas to creeks and rivers, you'll explore the diverse landscape and economy of this incredible state.

We are asking our #BestCommunityEver to achieve the community goal of driving 111,000,000 miles (178,637,184km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Oklahoma.

While #CruisingOklahoma and enjoying the beautiful landscape it is also worth knowing that it is home to a wide variety of animals and insects, like the common honey bee and Black Swallowtail butterfly, two national state symbols that are important for Oklahoma's biodiversity. The state holds populations of bear and fox in the mountains, as well as the prairie dog and the iconic American bison in the prairie regions.

Oklahoma is also known as the "Sooner State", symbolizing the energetic, progressive can-do spirit. Truckers can look forward to exploring many new industries, like delivering iconic, yellow School Bus parts to the bus factory, Big Tires for machinery from the tire factories in Ardmore and Lawton, or Yard Trucks that are needed at Tulsa Airport.

During your journey through Oklahoma, you can look forward to many beautiful views and highlights such as:

  • Gloss Mountain State Park, unique natural landmark with mesas in north western Oklahoma
  • Tulsa, metropolis center for energy, aerospace, and technology
  • McAlester, picturesque historical city in East Oklahoma
  • Beavers Bend State Park, beautiful park in the mountainous region of south east Oklahoma
  • Hugo Lake Spillway, dam on the Kiamichi River in south east Oklahoma

As with past cruising events, you can use your own trailer and experience all these in the external market!

Oklahoma DLC is offering 10 fantastic new cities to explore, and we have a special reward for completing your personal goal, which will require you to deliver a job to or from all 10 cities of Oklahoma. All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more.

Join our journey with the newest DLC of American Truck Simulator and set out on a trip over high plains, prairies and low wetlands, while discovering the unique factories and industries of Oklahoma! Get ready for a terrific ride through the Sooner State!

Rules

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to drive 111,000,000 miles (178,637,184 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Oklahoma.

When a player completes a delivery to or from 10 different Oklahoma cities, they will achieve their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 100 miles each (161 km), or more.

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards

Personal: Players that deliver cargo to or from 10 Oklahoma cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a beautiful Wild Stampede themed truck paint job Steam inventory item.

Community: When the community goal of driving 111,000,000 miles (178,637,184km) during deliveries to or from any city in Oklahoma is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a hanging Black Swallowtail ornament Steam inventory item.

The event will be concluded on Sunday the 1st of October at 23:59 UTC.

We wait with bated breath to hear back from you about your new adventure, with so many new places to explore and discover. We think you will love cruising the Sooner State, from its ancient mountain ranges and forests in the high plains region, through central prairies, savannas and mesas, to the low wetlands revealing creeks and rivers, and we look forward to seeing all your photos! So, please share your screenshots and videos with us using the hashtag #CruisingOklahoma on our Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram profiles and we will share our favorite ones (we may even feature some of them in a future blog post!).

Kansas - Dodge City

We know you are used to blog posts about individual cities in upcoming map expansion projects arriving a bit later in the development process, but it’s good to freshen things up from time to time and try something else. So, without further ado, check out what you can expect from Dodge City in the upcoming Kansas DLC for American Truck Simulator.

Dodge City is a famous Wild West town that served as a frontier and gateway to many areas for a long time. As a result, it developed a thriving economy centered around cattle processing, which continues to this day and the local economy chain includes a food factory, livestock auction, and livestock farm. The city's Wild West history is also evident by the presence of the well-developed local railroad, which holds great significance in the city and the entire Kansas as well, connecting it to various depots.

At the heart of the city stands a historical railway station building that can be seen from all sides if you visit the nearby rail supply depot. The town's railroad and Wild West heritage are further commemorated in a Wild West museum that displays historical locomotive. Other depots in the area include a food mill, towering above a row of fast-food establishments, a grain elevator, a shopping mall, and outside of the city, there is a chemical plant and wind turbine construction (typical for the region).

Generally, our vision of Dodge City is divided into three main areas:

The northern "edge" along US-50 that bypasses downtown, with a more open feel, housing a shopping mall, baseball field, suburbs, and warehouses.

The downtown area in the center, with a preserved historical core and a more enclosed urban atmosphere - featuring the railway.

The southern industrial area, with depots connected to the railway, a hotel, a swimming pool, and a significant industrial presence.

We hope the city will provide for enough reasons to hang around and you will not Get out of Dodge. If you like what you’ve seen so far, make sure to add the map expansion to your Steam Wishlist, and to stay in touch with all the latest news, give our social media profiles a follow (TwitterInstagramFacebookTikTok).

American Truck Simulator 1.48 Release

We are happy to announce that the 1.48 update for American Truck Simulator has been released and is now available on Steam. This update contains bug fixes, changes and new content, which are featured below, so we recommend taking a read!

We'd like to take this opportunity to  thank everyone who participated, provided their feedback, and made bug reports during the Open Beta period. Your valuable input helped us make tweaks, changes and squash some bugs we may have missed the first time around. We hope you can now begin to fully enjoy the fruits of your work.

New Texas DLC Content

They say everything is bigger in Texas, including the updates! Our talented team has revisited the state to bring an update that fits the boot; including roads, landmarks, depots, and more.

The equivalent of 500 real miles have been added over 8 different roads, interstates and highways; including one of the most well known interchanges in Texas. Nicknamed the 'High Five', it is one of the first five-level stack interchanges to be built in Dallas.

Keeping on the topic of five, in this update you'll be able to explore 5 new settlements. Make sure to take time to explore Greenville, Shamrock, Sharman, De Kalb and Paris.

Another big addition to this update is the addition of Texarkana; a unique city that straddles the border between Texas and Arkansas, with the state line running through the center of the city.  We hope owners of the Texas DLC will enjoy this sizeable update. Read more about this update in one of our previous blog posts.

Cities in the Gallery

In the 1.46 update, we introduced the Gallery feature, a one stop shop for all your images, photo trophies, and discovered viewpoints, which maintained all the legacy functionality of the older Screenshot Manager. Today, we're excited to add a new functionality to the Gallery!

As you journey and discover the many cities of American Truck Simulator, you'll be able to collect them under the new 'Cities' tab. Once unlocked, you'll be able to view which cities you have visited, as well as watch and replay any of the city intro cutscenes; which are normally only seen when you first start your first HQ there.

We hope you enjoy this new addition to our Gallery! Let us know how many cities you've already unlocked in on our social media channels.

Washington DLC Custom City Intros

Carrying on from our previous update which introduced custom city intros for Utah & Idaho, we have now expanded these cutscenes in the Washington DLC for American Truck Simulator!

These special cutscenes appear when a player selects a starting city when creating a new profile. We hope that new players (or those restarting a new profile) will enjoy these new additions, showcasing the area where you have chosen to begin.

Originally, these starting cutscenes were quite basic in terms of their movement and functionality, however as time has gone on, we have improved on them with fly-by scripts and more. For most players, you would only see one of these cutscene for a particular city just once, and then continue on to many hours of trucking. This is why we've decided to bring the new function to the Gallery menu to replay them, and see the other City Intros which you may not have normally seen.

We hope you enjoy the work of our team who have brought these Cities to life through these intros, and we look forward to introducing it to more states in the future.

Special Transport DLC Update

In addition to the new content and changes that are coming to American Truck Simulator in this update, we are also happy to introduce two brand new special transport routes!

Are you ready to take on these new routes with oversized loads? You can find these unique delivery contracts between the cities of Laredo & San Antonio in Texas and Laurel & Billings in Montana.

Think you handle it? Share with us your pictures from your Special Transport hauls on our social media channels.

Reworked Vehicle Transport Trailers

Speaking of special transport - we are happy to let you know that our vehicle team has found some spare capacity in between other of their projects to also revisit and rework trailers that our in-game economy uses to transport various types of vehicles, such as cars, SUVs, etc.

Search for these cargoes within the freight market and take them for a ride! Your nearest car dealer might need delivery of fresh new whips.

Per-State map exploration

We know how many drivers enjoy the challenging task of gaining 100% map exploration. We know this isn't easy, so we've introduced a new UI window which can be accessed by clicking on your map exploration in the top left of the world map.

Upon clicking on this, a new window will open showing you a list of the U.S States with their respective flag, and a breakdown of your exploration of each one. We hope that this will aid you in finding those missing roads in our ever-growing world of American Truck Simulator.

Let us know how you're getting on with your map exploration in the comments below or on social media!

Options slider ranges

We are happy to introduce a highly requested addition to your options page when tweaking with settings in American Truck Simulator. You will now find a small box next to the sliders which displays the number which it is set to.

We hope this makes it easier for you to not only set up multiple profiles with similar settings, but also share your settings with others.

Input wizard controls selection redesign

We've given our input wizard for control selection a UI overhaul! Our team has been working hard to bring a simplistic but modern design to this setup window. We hope this new UI will help guide users new and old through the selection and setup process which features new icons and a clear description for each option.

Electronic Stability Controls (Anti-Lock Braking System + Traction Control)

You can now find the addition of Anti-Lock Braking System & Traction Control in the gameplay options. These Electronic Stability Controls help assist the driver in a variety of conditions and/or scenarios. The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) loosens brakes on wheels that are close to locking out. Traction Control (ASR or TRC) helps prevent oversteer and understeer, as-well provide individual wheel anti-slip system applies brakes to wheels that are slipping.

Traction control also features cornering assist, which becomes active when understeer or oversteer, it brakes the inside rear wheels to prevent understeer and outside front wheel to prevent oversteer. We hope these new additions will be of use to you on your future journeys!

MOD structure changes

This change is more directed at our MOD creators in the community! We have now added the ability to create a single MOD for multiple DLCs, regardless of which DLC the user actually has.

If at least one of the subdirectories or files (*.zip) in the MOD root is named "base" or prefixed with "dlc_" then these subdirectories or files are mounted instead of the MOD root. We've also updated the SCS Workshop Uploader to reflect these changes as well. If the SCS Workshop Uploader discovers a MOD with the new structure, it performs additional checks.

We hope this new structure makes things a little easier for our talented modding community, and if you have any questions, feel free to head over to our modding wiki or forum where we can help support you.

West Balkans - Landmarks

Embark on a journey with us through the enchanting West Balkans, where your drive will be met by an assortment of landmarks large and small! Take a scroll with us as we share a preview of some of them recreated in our upcoming DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

From historical sites to modern day wonders, landmarks have always played an important role for drivers on the road, serving as a waypoint for many travellers. Today, these sites are visited by many and protected for future generations to learn about. On your virtual journeys, you may just pass by historical sites such as Trsat Castle in Rijeka, the Captain's Tower in Bihać, Stari Most in Mostar or Sokolac fort!

You can find these landmarks across country and in cities like Prishtina, where you can find The National University Library of Kosovo, the Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa with its dominant tower and the abandoned Orthodox Cathedral.

Many sites recreated hold significant historical importance, such as the Mediana archaeological site in Niš or the Museum of Sarajevo, where in 1914 a single gunshot indirectly started World War I.

This is just a handful of the landmarks which can be found in the West Balkans region, including stadiums, television buildings, cathedrals, educational centres, and more! We hope you take the time to explore and discover these areas in the near future; you never know what you might learn! Until next time', keep on truckin!
