After more than two months, we have concluded the #CruisingNordicHorizons event on Sunday. We would like to thank all the 113,728 truckers for taking part! Now, let's take a look at how you managed to complete the set goals.
Before we get into it, we would also like to send a huge thanks to the dedicated team behind this event. We really appreciate all their hard work, and we are sure that our #BestCommunityEver does too!
As tradition goes, with every new map expansion, we launch a World of Trucks event with dedicated goals and rewards for our #BestCommunityEver. For #CruisingNordicHorizons, the community set out to drive a combined 300,000,000 kilometres while delivering cargo to or from any city featured in the Nordic Horizons DLC. With the personal goal, truckers were challenged to complete 18 contracts to or from six unique cities in each of the countries; Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
We're thrilled to report that you didn't just meet these goals, you absolutely smashed them. The community goal was reached in less than two weeks, and by the end of the event, the total distance driven had more than doubled, reaching an incredible 702,446,695 kilometres.
Meanwhile, 57,397 truckers completed the personal challenge and can now enjoy all the rewards: the Northern Tides ETS2 truck paint job, the Viking Helmet dashboard accessory, and a World of Trucks achievement. Now it's time to go trucking in the far north in style with the themed rewards you earned.
Even if you didn't complete the event, don't worry - the journey is what matters most, and we hope you've had (and will continue to have) plenty of fun hauling cargo across this map expansion.
Since the release of Nordic Horizons for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we’ve been overwhelmed with screenshots, videos, comments and reviews all shared by you, our #BestCommunityEver. From scenic fjord drives to hauls under the aurora, it’s been fantastic to see how much you’ve all been enjoying your journeys across the far north in our newest DLC.

As a resident of Sweden, I was in awe at the level of detail put into landmarks and unique structures that make cities easily recognizable. Featuring fjords, Arctic coastlines, Northern Lights, winding roads, iconic landmarks like the Arctic Cathedral, and unique industries such as the underground mines in Kiruna, it has inspired me to take that final step into planning an actual road trip through the real-life counterpart to the Nordic Horizons region. "Even all the way up near Honningsvåg, I was blown away by how different everything looks compared to the rest of the ETS2 map, the small coastal homes, the tight mountain passes, the fishing boats, the docks, all of it feels handcrafted. Nothing here feels recycled. As someone who films a ton of trucking content, this DLC had me spinning my head nonstop because every few minutes the world completely changes. One moment it's a wide tundra, the next it’s a tiny village squeezed between cliffs, and then suddenly you’re staring at a lake so clear it looks unreal. This release marks one of our largest map expansions to date, offering a truly vast and diverse region for you to explore. From the dramatic fjords of Norway to the Arctic coastline, from Sweden’s rugged Norrland to the expansive wilderness of Finland’s Lapland, Nordic Horizons blends nature, culture, and trucking challenges into one unforgettable journey.

With Nordic Horizons, we aimed to capture the spirit of the far north: luminous northern skies, small coastal villages clinging to rocky landscapes, and the quiet but powerful presence of history woven through every settlement.

Cruising Nordic Horizons
With the release of the DLC, we’re also kicking off a brand new World of Trucks event: Cruising Nordic Horizons, which begins right at the moment of launch.
This event invites you to explore the new map, deliver cargoes to and from its many cities, and contribute to a community goal while earning special in-game rewards.
Rewards
Personal: Players who deliver cargo to or from the required 18 cities in Nordic Horizons will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a beautiful Northern Tides ETS2 truck paint job Steam inventory item.
Community: When the community goal of driving 300,000,000 km during deliveries to or from any Nordic Horizons city is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a striking Viking Helmet dashboard ornament Steam inventory item.
And there’s an extra treat as well! Truckers who complete a job using External Contracts or the External MarketTO or FROM Narvik will be rewarded with the Wolf cabin plush Steam inventory item. Soft, cuddly, and carrying a touch of Nordic wilderness spirit, this charming little wolf pays homage to the landscapes and legends of the far north. It’s the perfect companion to accompany you on your journeys across the new expansion!
That’s not all for today’s celebration! Alongside Nordic Horizons, we are delighted to release a brand-new Forest Machinery DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, the ETS2 counterpart to the long-established ATS expansion of the same theme.
Given the importance of forestry across Norway, Sweden, and Finland, this felt like the perfect moment to bring a fresh set of heavy-duty machines and logging-industry equipment into the ETS2 universe. This new cargo pack is designed to complement the Nordic Horizons experience, but it will be available across the entire map.

In today's blog, we're excited to share another preview from the Nordic Horizons DLC with our amazing #BestCommunityEver! This time, we're heading to the stunning city of Trondheim to explore its beauty and check out the new oversized cargo routes available for truckers owning the Special Transport DLC.
On the banks of the Trondheimsfjord lies the charming city of Trondheim, with over a thousand years of history dating back to the Viking Age, when it was founded by Olav Tryggvason in 997. If you're familiar with Trondheim, you'll likely recognize several of these in-game locations our map designers have recreated with attention to detail.
In the northern part of Trondheim, you'll find a unique two-storey roundabout along the Rv706, which spans both the surface and an underground level, connecting to a tunnel leading into the city center. Nearby, we've recreated a shopping mall, the town hall, and the Leangen train station, all positioned close together just as they are in reality.
Continuing along the Rv706, you'll reach the city's port area, home to another historic landmark: the Dora submarine pens. Right next to them is the Trondheim Maritime Center and a local factory. From this area, you can also see the popular local waterfront sauna and cultural venue - everything faithfully recreated to mirror the real-life locations.
We've also paid attention to smaller, yet distinctive architectural details that enhance the sense of place: the utilities near the port shaped like a submarine sail, and several sculptures along a nearby roundabout. Together, these elements aim to make you feel as if you're truly there.
Trondheim is a major land and sea transport link of Norway, connecting the more densely settled south with the far-northern regions. Because of that, you will find plenty of industries to deliver cargo to and from, including a supermarket, scrapyard, furniture factory, quarry, construction site, river port, and paper mill. At the last three mentioned depots, you will be able to experience the new dynamic cargo loading and unloading feature (loading at the river port, and unloading at the construction site and paper mill)!
BIG in Nordic Horizons
If you own the Special Transport DLC, which lets truckers haul oversized cargo, you'll want to know which routes are designated for these massive loads!
In Nordic Horizons, drivers will be able to tackle five new routes, each carefully planned with escort vehicles and local police support to ensure smooth deliveries. Apart from the new routes, you will also be able to transport new cargoes - the Wind Turbine Blade and the Underground Loader. You can read more about these cargoes in the dedicated blog.
The payoff is worth the challenge - these jobs offer extra rewards for your skill and effort. But don't underestimate them: even with escorts, manoeuvring oversized cargo through tight turns and tricky terrain is no easy feat. Think you have what it takes?
