Sound Recording Session - Scania V8

Our quest for leveling up the game sounds continues with recording of proper V8 sound.

Getting hold of a V8 wasn't so easy for us. With a bit of luck we have managed to get our cameras, ears and microphones on one of the best sounding V8s in history, planted at the heart of Scania T143H 450!

The sound of this particular V8 serves as the golden sound standard even for the most modern Scania engines. We hope you enjoy the video we made for you during the freezing and windy but fortunately successful recording session!

Ice Cold Paint Jobs DLC available now!

With winter coming for us here north of the Equator, we have prepared another set of custom truck paints on Steam - Ice Cold Paint Jobs DLC.

This DLC consists of 6 winter-themed paint motifs, the paint schemes are not really locked into a particular event in the calendar, they will work for you all through the winter time. All paint jobs are of course tailored to fit every truck featured in the game. We believe that these paint jobs should coexist happily with any community-created Christmas and New Year paint job competition master pieces.

Scania Streamline update is ready now

First, we would like to thank all of you who have already sent us Christmas and New Year competition paint jobs. We will keep accepting your new creations up until December 31.

To answer your question, if you feel like creating even more than just one paint job, you can - it will only increase your winning chances!

Scania Streamline is out now via retail patch and Steam's automatic update. So everybody can finally experience the Scania truck bringing back the legendary name. We needed a few more days to tweak this update as some minor truck tuning/princing problems were spotted and fixes were required. Having the game on Steam in beta allowed us to quickly iterate through a few release candidates with a lot of eyes on the builds. Thanks to all who were eager to participate!

Note: The retail patch is currently available to download via torrents and a direct link from our server. We would strongly prefer that you to use the torrent, while we are setting up download mirrors. Using our local link is very likely to be much slower, and also quite stressful for our servers.

Have fun!

Christmas and The New Year 2014 paint job competition!

Christmas and The New Year is approaching! Seeing the incredible level of creativity in screenshots uploaded to World of Trucks every day, we would like to announce a little official competition among those of you with the skill set required to create custom paint jobs. This will give us all even better understanding of the power of the modding community.

To participate, you need to create a paint job with Christmas or Silvester 2014 motive for your favorite truck. Make an in-game screenshot of your creation. Upload image to World of Trucks and let us know by mail that you have done it and are ready to have it reviewed (more info see in the Conditions below)

  • Our team will choose the best screenshots to be featured in Editor's Picks through the period of 20 December to 03 January.
  • SCS team will hand-pick 3 winners, to be rewarded by receiving the official World of Trucks t-shirt.

  • And off course anybody posting a nice screenshot can expect community appreciation and likes for the best Paint jobs creators - everybody wins if the site starts to reflect the special time of the year!

  1. Create a truck paint job with Christmas or New Year 2014 motive. Choice of tools is up to you. We are aware that this is a limitation, but as of now we still cannot offer an official toolset for this purpose. Current World of Trucks custom paint jobs looks magnificent already though, which shows what great talent and skill there is already in our community!
  2. Upload your image to the World of Trucks
  3. E-mail us a World of Trucks link pointing to your image to the following email: (# sign replace with @)
  4. Your e-mail MUST have exactly this subject line: World of Trucks 2014

This way we will have easier time finding you and your creation.

The 3 finalists will be announced in the beginning of 2014.
We are looking forward to seeing your no doubt amazing creations!

Scania Streamline beta on Steam

We are preparing Euro Truck Simulator 2 update version 1.8 for release. Despite our best effort, our new AI code and physics improvements need more time "in the lab" as programmers are still tweaking things based on tester input. Therefore we decided to bring forward the release of a new vehicle model - Scania R edition bearing the legendary Streamline name! Such an important release deserves it's own version number bump, the planned code changes will therefore appear in future 1.9.x release.

Currently 1.8 is available in beta branch on Steam. This should be the final testing window, hopefully very short, and soon we'll be able to bring it out of beta on Steam and eventually also release the standalone patch for non-Steam players. Retail update takes quite longer to produce and test, plus setup the mirror servers so that our own infrastructure isn't immediately overloaded. But rest assured that it is coming asap as well.

Streamline trucks were always Scania's most leading, technically proficient trucks, with focus on efficiency and driver comfort. We hope that you will have fun trying out the new truck in our game!
