French toll road

A couple of new pictures from Euro Truck Simulator 2. This is from a place where a local road is about to connect to the highway.

As we are trying to portray a sizable part of Europe, of course the backbone of the road system in the game must be the major highways. However, we are also trying to spice up the game with a sampling of local two-lane roads to give the player a taste of both.

  5. I see, that the barrier on the toll station is on the wrong side. It should be behind the cashier house, because first you have to pay (or take a ticket) and then you can drive through the open barrier. If you don't pay, you won't pass the toll station...

  6. Really nice. It gives the feeling of driving in different countries. It could be nice if the waether changes from country to country, suoth, warm and sunny, north rainy and grey and maybe snow in the scandinavia if you plan to make those countries.

  13. I like the way you are creating ETS2. No more uniform, general solutions over the whole map. This is great example: french toll booths are totally different from polish toll booths that we saw before. This is exactly what I want from Euro Truck Simulator! :-)

  31. Waaa ! C'est magnifique !

Bon travail !

    Bonne continuation.

  32. Reaction on Se7en's comment:
Yes, I wish those "2+1" roads or "climbing lanes" or whatever you call it, for years... But climbing lanes are of course common here in CZ too, so guys from SCS must know them. :-D Let's hope they will be included in ETS2 map.

  34. Nice SCS. It's realistic. They will be after exit of highway? And when you show us picture from the map?

  35. Really is Amazing how much effort is taken in to this game. I like the railroad crossings that have been developed in the game.

I have played every game produced by SCS and 1 thing that I notice that have not been in the game. Is when you apply the parking brake normally with pneumatic braking trucks there is a sound Air rushing out of a cylinder. Can this be a possibility?

  36. while driving on monotonous motorway becomes very boring
I would like some some nice innovations
For example, traffic can fill up the fuel and stop off to rest, so had to stand in a small queue and to find a place for parking
it would be cool to go in a convoy, but only at the normal speed of 70-90 km / h
this would be very best if the drivers (traffic, too) had to observe all traffic rules
also does not interfere with various complex parts of the roads, potholes, rocks, gravel, dirt, pits, deep puddles, crossing small rivers
new delivery location in the wilderness, remote small farms, quarries
    We want it very much!

  37. There is error. The truck is stoped before the barrier. But the barrier is before the cash/ticket.
You must pay/take ticket before you go to barrier.

  38. Please, add Balkans,it would be awesome going from EU to Serbia,Croatia or Macedonia and having to wait a minute or few,btw great job so far, keep up the good work... :)

  41. WOW FANTASTIC !!!

I am no longer in the skin!

Watching two beautiful photos I was thinking that you could put in the optional purchase what for us is called in Italian "telepass" so as to skip the queues at the entrance and exit from the highway! :-)

I have been doing dream !

    ReplyDelete
  42. Nice work! You're right, you should make alternative roads (back road). So then the player could take the back way, or head out on the highway.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Great pictures! The toll boots will add to the realism of the game! Very impressive, keep up the good work!

  44. i will miss this blog when the game releases!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. When you release this game I promise I will add the single roads myself, just to make these guys shut up about them!!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  46. what i would like to know is why are the 2 lanes on the outside without barriers otherwise you could just drive around them and not pay the toll.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Make Swedeeeeeen! :) Nice!

  48. station to be able to talk with others about road traffic participants, such as weather, road, police would be wonderful

  51. Hello SCS team,

Very nice work , but attention , indeed ,i noticed that the tollgates (barrier) ,you have placed are in wrong location , they must be placed after the toll cabin and not before as shown on your picture.....

Except that error, you make me very happy to see those pictures ( myself i'm french...) and very excited for the game is released

So far you have done a very excellent work ,don't stop and the success will be there for you ;-)

  56. this look's great so far! you are really pushing the boundries every time you post something its better and better. But there is still much to be done, i would like that you input more of law into that game, cause european law is very strict about truckers driving hours, about not making breaks. I would like the law to play a bigger part in the game to make it even more realistic. Not that you have to go to sleep when your tune is tired. By european law a trucker has to have a daily break of not less then 9hours to 12 hours. And there is the weekly break where a driver has to stay put 45 hours max or 24 hours min. Another idea is trucks getting dirty that would be great, driving on a rainy day and with all that traffic it should get dirty in my oppinion. And please make that all trucks cant go faster then 90 km/h. And another great idea that plenty of ppl allready mentioned is to give us the option to buy our own trailer's i know that would involve alot of restructuring in the game but i think it would be great pulling into a yard and waiting for your truck to get loaded.

Just a couple ideas. Greeting from Croatia, Ivan!

  57. Please SCS, add Bulgaria.

  58. Mmm, nice. Looking mighty good, especially seeing that you have much work to do yet. Definitely a buy, this one.

Two lane roads can be nice option, indeed. Unless you get stuck behind Grandpa, of course, then you may end up choosing between a dangerous overtake or running late! But they should certainly be in there, two lane roads.

    Keep it up, SCS.
