A small team at SCS Software is exploring an opportunity to go beyond just trucks in one of our upcoming games. You will not see or hear this bus just yet in the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2, even though down the road it's not so hard to imagine.
On a very related topic - would any of you be able to gain access to a Scania Irizar i6 bus to be able to take high detail interior and dashboard reference photos?

DeleteThey won't stop releasing patches, like they promised and did with Scania Truck Driving Simulator. They have released tons of patches for STDS.
DeleteLet's face it SCS, you don't have succes with your games not because you have a small team and few money to invest and sure not because of piracy, it's because your work is not done like profesionals. I can show you lots of games with small investment, small team, that had and still has great success, one example is Sins of a Solar Empire.
I've looked into your files and the quality of textures is so bad that you must say a big thank you to those who bought the game. You still add more features and forget the basics of the game like optimization. This game requires resources almost as GTA IV. Is this right? No!
My advice, polish your work and be organized. I can't seem to find the logic in your files. Those who are doing mods know what I'm talking about. (Take a look at textures for Volvo dashboard and Mercedes dashboard files). Stick with one idea and do all files the same way. I'm telling you, those textures look like drag and drop no work put in them to fit and look nice. It looks like this: Let's throw some more here and there and done.
Now I know some people won't agree with me, but put it this way. What if there were no mods? What if the game wouldn't permit mods? Now you know that mods makes this game better. Mods polish this game and makes it almost as it should be.
So SCS, what will it be? What will be the end? You got to steam not because you have a nice game, but because of the community. You should respect them and make a good work, not just words.

ReplyDeleteIn ETS 2 you have your own fleet of trucks. Why not you have a mixt fleet of busses and trucks? And you can choose to be a truck or a bus driver... So I think of a combination of ETS2 with Bus Driving Simulator...

DeleteI´d also think it would be great (maybe for ETS3) that in some point of the game, when you have your truck/bus/mixed company up and running, you´d be able to buy CARS to drive between garages, doing "commercial rep" work, going into companies to close job contracts (companies would send you email messages and you´d have to drive to one specific office in an specific ammount of time to close the deal) and such.
DeleteYou could starting buying one of those cheap Fiat Punto or Skoda things and as you are getting richer those Mercs and BMs that we see on the road. And there would be no speed limits for cars on the German autobahns =)
If this will not be an add-on to ETS2, I would think to another thing. Like you said, about buying normal cars, it will be nice that you can transport stuff with vans like Ford Transit, Mercedes Vito and others on short distances or with trucks that don't need a trailer. This will be nice to be on Quick Job. Of course this add-ons will cost some money but in my opinion it will be better if SCS concentrate on a fewer projects, but well developed.

But I'm sure that the team SCS will bring the experience simulation at a higher level.
Also we need to know that at the end of 2013 is expected to release on the market of OMSI 2. I think that It will be an interesting "challenge".

ReplyDeleteYes, Irizar is something everyone can relate to and I think, on the whole, it would be a great opportunity to expand beyond Trucking and setup a running coach business.
ReplyDeleteThus transporting ''human'' cargo between cities.
It would provide a ''steady'' source of income for trucking companies to have a tourist-commuter backing. Could add so much more to the game :)
I still want to see real over-size cargo and convoy missions. But if the Irizar was implemented in a few months, you could start expending into other specialist vehicles such as 8x4 dumper trucks, flatbed trucks, recovery vehicles (which could work for the player' own company servicing broken trucks cheaper than SOS call-outs), pilot and beacon vehicles and many more.
In any case, I think it's a great idea opening the Truck Sim genre and expanding into newer areas within one game, giving much more opportunities and fun, ultimately :)

Tato hra má zatím nevyužitý potenciál a pokud by jste se jí věnovali dostatečně dlouho mohl by to být ten nejrozsáhlejší simulátor všech dob! Moc rád bych ve hře viděl nové modely kamionů ale i ty starší generace by nebyly vůbec špatné a třeba i tuningu by se dalo vymyslet mnohem více. Rozšíření mapy by bylo také super a rád si za tyto věci zaplatím jste nejlepší a zasloužíte si odmenu!
ReplyDeleteV první řadě studio potřebuje nějak přežít, tzn. potřebuje peníze na svůj provoz. A opravováním ETS2 jaksi nevydělá. Takže pokud se nezdaří experiment s DLC, tak to holt asi zabije další vývoj ETS2 a budeme čekat na ECS, ATS a ETS3.

If you want a ''bus simulator'' instead of a ''coach simulator'', take a look at OMSI...
OMSI has got very small maps (compared to SCS's maps).
And when SCS makes a small map, people will be bitching about... well... the small map.
Coach simulator is just simply a better idea and no, I am not like some narrow-minded kid, who demands what he wants like some other people on this blog, I just look at it on a realistic level.

I don't want to complain however I don't see a need of a hassle about sound recording while driving in-game trucks don't provide that sound/noise you have recorded. Everything is dull and too quiet, not like in the real tractors.

SCS can use already existing map from ETS2 and just make a few models of couches. It's much easier and cheaper than cooperation with other developer. Also legal and licences issues makes this ccoperations much more difficult.

Ok, I've forgotten about Vacanza but it isn't very popular (just like Temsa). But I think that this coach may be also added to ECS. Virtual drivers love to choose from variety of vehicles, even not very popular. So We can list there: Temsa, Solaris, Irisbus.

When reaching limit 90 km/h engine sound disappears. shortcomings of the game?
Deletei have noticed the engine sound only disappears if you upgrade the gearbox if you leave the stock one in the truck i can get it up to 100MPH with out the sounds disappearing if that helps

Is there going to exist a 100km/h speef limiter in ECS?
ReplyDeleteTo my knowledge all european trucks are required to have a 90 km/h speed limiter so I guess there won't be in the official game but I know there's a mod that removes it, don't remember the name though.

DeleteIn Turkey, legis require a maximum of 110km/h limiter, however, almost all buses producted for international and intercity buses(which are made in Turkey) have 100km/h limiter.

3 - Trailers, with advertising / logo on the sides.
4 - Contracts with companies / bid for contracts.
5 - Competition / AI players who you compete against for things.
6 - Buy out competition / stock market type setup.
i wish SCS would do something about the AI in ETS2..it's spoiling a fantastic game..so fedup of the AI hitting my truck or pulling out in front of me when they could stop to give way especially at a roundabout

But minus the game is that the game quickly becomes boring and lose interest in playing it. I hope that you will begin to develop ETS3 and take account of some of the ideas that-be game became more interesting than ETS2!
ReplyDelete1 - in the beginning of the game you are given the old house (or apartment) and an old car (like Skoda and Volvo), you have little money, and so we need urgently to hire a driver in what some trucking company. Gradually, you can earn money and buy a new house or car (truck for something to open a business, or a passenger to choose you) :)
2-First you give a ride only on older cars are often broken (and you can buy only the old and only then open a new, modern trucks).
3 on the truck in time to appear to the dirt and dust (eg on the windshield)
4 different weather conditions the snow, rain, fog, etc.
5 the ability to open a window (if the cab sound is louder)
6 small breakdown truck (for example a flat tire)
7-police, fire, ambulance, etc.
8-a lot of people and animals (dogs, cats, pigeons, etc.)
9-driver to leave the truck and go to a cafe and drink such as coffee and a sandwich is also a need for both, and sleep))
That's just part of what I would like to see in the game, you will eventually produce DLС with new cars, maps, etc.. Contact 2K Czech (developers of the game Mafia), they have made great games, and can help with the characters and make a joint game of truckers!

DeleteJesus Christ... this is Euro TRUCK Simulator, not Sims truck simulator!
I do not understand why is so important drinking a coffee in Truck Simulator. People and animals are eating computer resources which can be used for better physics of the truck. Snow requires a complete new set of textures - this is really costly and You probably would not pay another 10 or 15€ just for snow environment. So use fan's mods.

ReplyDeleteWell I am new here .. I just heared about ETS 2 and decided to test it .. so far have a nice customizable graphic, settings are good also the ideea of making my own company. Started to play game and after 10 missions I can give my prewiew:
1. roads and the environment are really good;
2. trucks, cargos and traffic are also verry good.
3. All road signs are ok.
but ... for my point of view it is just simple driving. More elements are missing from this game:
1. on GPS have day and hour // was better to be the date (like 10.01 or 10 jan)and hour;
2. In game missing fog and snow, ice on road witch can add very much funny in play the game.
3. Weather conditions are bad. Was nice to be conditioned by current month. Like at point 2) in January have snow, ice on road , was nice to be road temporarely blocked by snow storm (after get a mission at some point get stuck in snow and with and option available to call for help // that can increase level of missions, not just driving and that is). Also in autumn season have rain, that can be like 1,2 or 3 days with low to moderate drop. also in autumn can have fog near rivers, ice on altitude, etc.
In game i saw only an option to low rain .. but I was sure that can be like a summer rain in 4 "game days" with 15-20 minutes not just 30 seconds.
4. I arrived at rail crossing and : what is that? a freight train with 5 wagons .. common .. a train like this was more nice with 20-30 wagons.
SCS Software maked a damn good think for now but game still missing elements like that I pointed at this post. So far that I want to add regarding this game. In my opinion if SCS can add those missing elements, game will be more accurate to reality, more fun and level of difficulty rised to all missions.
You have describet a lot of details which basically do not affect the game itself. Those are good ideas for ETS3 but nothing which must be added into ETS2. Ice and snow means a complete new set of textures. So use fan's mod for this.

but some suggestion, could you make another simulator like taxi simulator after you make the coach simulator? i think it would be great.. ;)
Taxi simulator could be interesting, I would like it too; on the other hand, when we look on really low-quality simulations by certain German company, maybe it's not so good idea for small company to make simulations of everything with wheels. Specialization in one or two vehicle types (trucks and buses, for example) gives much better results. But if people would accept more arcadish game not really focused on simulation (similar to Bus Driver), then Taxi Driver wouldn't be a bad idea.

ReplyDeleteThis game is really great but if SCS don´t make any upgrades to keep this game alive, maybe then it can be too late. After driving some thousand Kms, this gets very boring, always the same, no dificulty.
Do like you did in Scania game, make some red dots destinations, where we have to make some efforts to park the truck...
You don´t have to release big upgrades at once, release some small DLC now, another one latter and so on... some cityes, some truck, some different and hard destinations.
