Several exciting things happening within a very short time span now! Today is a first for us - Bus Driver, one of our older games, has received mobile treatment.
Bus Driver - Pocket Edition is now out on Apple's App Store.
The game was ported to iOS by our publishing partner Meridian4; we were not involved in the work on the port directly, but we have provided a ton of feedback. The iPad/iPhone version of the game is trying to stay as true to the original as possible, given the limitation of the device and input controls of course. The game looks quite promising, and the developer of this port still has improvements and more content for the game lined up for future updates.
For the time being, our own focus is squarely at Windows/Linux/Mac versions of our sims for internal development (and there is no need to remind us that the Mac OS port of ETS2 is taking longer than anybody would like, but trust us, we are still working hard on it). However, we need to understand if it would make sense to expand to other platforms. The bigger the snowball gets, the faster it may roll. So we'll be curious to see what happens with this mobile experiment. Keep your fingers crossed! And of course, for Apple gadget fans, if you happen to fancy returning back to our old but evergreen Bus Driver game on a new platform, we wouldn't mind you buying the game! ;)

First! And congratulations
ReplyDeleteCool. Any chance for Android?
ReplyDeletetrue.
DeleteYes surely there will be an android version. Probably "within weeks, not months". Hold on to your hats.
Deleteyep ...sure , android version great idea
DeleteScs software! :D I support you always but what is with Android? :D
ReplyDelete*angry Android user throwing rotten apples every which way*
ReplyDeletescs is always good for surprises
ReplyDeletei don't have no smartphone though, haha
but i still have the original game :)
Great, great, I'm not owner of any of those (too much) smart devices, good old cellphone serves me enough, but I'm glad to hear even this kind of news; the market is of course big and Bus Driver is unique enough, so there is hihg possibility it'll be pretty successful move. And I still play Bus Driver on PC, it's funny arcade game, even after years (7 years I believe?)... hell, I wouldn't mind to buy BD again, if Meridian4 would also create a PC version with mentioned future improvements and new content. :-) So congrats and good luck on mobile device market!
ReplyDeleteAMAZING NEWS SCS!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK <3
ReplyDeletecngratulations!
ReplyDeletecrap...
ReplyDeleteAnd now 1.9 update after all this great news :P. Give me a nice friday :) Just kidding, great work and I'm waiting for all the things that come in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 20.....! CONGRATULATIONS! And good luck!
ReplyDeleteI would like this on STEAM. But great ideea !
ReplyDeleteiOS games can't be distributed via Steam.
DeleteI was trying to say that this game should also be available on STEAM. Cheers!
Deletewhere is the 1.9 update??? why you guys are working so slow.
ReplyDeleteGive me a nice Friday.
"Faster SCS, Faster!"
Delete*Rushed release, full of bugs etc.*
"SCS Y U NO WORK PROPERLY !@#!$@$#!"
I get a phone soon but its going to be an android so can you make it on android?
ReplyDeleteFantastic news! I love Bus Driver so much. It's got this classic feel to it that reminds me of those old SEGA sit-down arcade machines. I'm on my way to buy the iOS version, but I'd also note that it would be awesome if this game were ported to Steam.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news, but after purchasing the application I've been a big disappointment.
ReplyDeleteThe handling is poor, there is no menu options and cant change camera. The truth is that we have much to improve. Especially in optimization, with an iPad Mini run slows.
I'm anxious to new updates. And thanks for the first bus simulator in conditions for mobile devices.
And where is the Euro Coach Simulator?
ReplyDeleteI hope that you don't dumb down your new sims for the "generation smartphone" or i gona completely avoid SCS games in the future.
ReplyDeleteHey DG, if you re-read what you wrote, hopefully you'll realize that you're a perferct idiot!!!
ReplyDeleteInstead of spending your money on some other game, please do yourself a favor and go buy a mirror... ;)
What the fuck is wrong with you!? Do you even know how hard SCS is working on this patch, ETS2 and ATS? How retarded can you posible be!? I hate people like you, always complaining and wining about every little fucking thing! Just shut the hell up and be happy with what you get from SCS. I'm so fucking tired of people like you.
ReplyDelete@DG: That's the problem with your post!! We DO understand what you wrote! That's what allows us to determine that you ARE an idiot!!!
ReplyDelete@Driver Geo
ReplyDeleteNever go fully retarted.
Oh wait, you just did.
Seriously, get the f*ck out of here, immature idiot.
SCS is a small company, working on multiple projects at the same time, so have some goddamm patience!
God, people like you make me so angry!!
wow scs are so fast at getting patches out
ReplyDeleteYou would rather them put out the patch unfinished and full of bugs? I can imagine what you'd be saying then.
DeleteAlso, this article isn't about ETS2 or patches, it's about another of their products.
1.9 patch release date is April-May 2014.
DeleteYou know that patches need time to be made and they have to test them before final release. Writing an Ai code is a hard thing so give them time for best results and i agree with what John said.
Deleteit would just be brought along for the progress of 1.9 with some betas yes we sort of would like to see a unfinished version i cant see it be arduously buggy
Deletewhen ats?
Btw i hope everyone will play future scs games "for free" from torrents.
-criss@myg
Ups i didn`t write in english, oh well tough luck guys, use google.
I must have missed where Pavel or SCS stated the release date of the 1.9 patch.
ReplyDeleteI assume the "Paul" you reference is DaSquirrelsNuts, who doesn't work for SCS and has never stated a release date either. He states his opinion and thoughts, not fact.
SCS created the game, so if they didn't create the game, there would be nothing for modders to work with.
SCS made the game moddable for that very reason, so that the community could add content. They ave been very liberal with the terms of use. Do you believe if it was a company like Codemasters, that there would be the option to easily mod the game? would there be the same openess from them?
If you don't like the way SCS do business, then go get another Truck Sim game... oh wait!!
Windows phone 8?
ReplyDeleteNokia 1100? :D
DeleteAll very well and good all this. But having pre ordered American Truck Simulator in Jan from Amazon and be told it will be delayed till March. I get an email today saying Delayed till May. Come on SCS give them a better date rather than irritate the end user. The paying customer deserves being informed.
ReplyDeleteSo wrote the SCS team. Monday, January 6, 2014
DeleteOne of the most important topics for the beginning of the year is American Truck Simulator. Soon we would like to make a series of posts talking in depth about it. Please take note that the release date of "stage 1" of the project is still not settled, we still have work to do. Any release date you see published on the Internet is pure speculation coming from distributors or merchants.
You were suckered into a "pre-order". SCS have NO release date even set, and have been saying this over and over.
DeleteYou haven't paid SCS one cent for American Truck Simulator, you paid the merchant on Amazon for the game. If you're irritated, be irritated at yourself for falling for it and paying a third party merchant for a product with no release date yet.
You basicly paid Amazon, not SCS...
DeleteBesides that, SCS hasn't released a release date, so Amazon is just speculating.
The game might be released in 2015, so Amazon can scream and shout that the game will be released in May now, but its not true.
I suggest you cancel your pre-order and get your money back.
American Truck Simulator will probably be released in 2016 or later because the way SCS works. Quit nagging.
DeleteWill this come out on android anytime?
ReplyDeleteA.N.D. R. O. l. D.
ReplyDelete1.9 go NOW!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo dont go now. Give them time if you want to see a fully improved Ai.
DeleteI wonder why SCS still allows comments on here.
ReplyDeleteThey should either monitor or disable the comments. Everytime I read the comments I lose some braincells. Oh well, atleast I have braincells, something that cant be said for most commenters here.
Comments which insult SCS and contain bad language should be automatically be removed. Maybe I am a bit harsh with the first one but the second one should always happen.
DeleteWhere is 1.9? I want 1.9!!!
ReplyDelete@Classic Car Racer
ReplyDeleteBut he's right in some point. You know, I support efforts of this company and I am glad for the progress they made through the years. Fact is however, that instead of polishing one game that calls itself a simulator, and it is far from being simulator at present time, they are working on several other projects.
I don't mind a map, who cares about a map. There are modders who make very nice maps in shorter time. But what about AI, that is better than the one in the older trucking games, still very dumb; what about tandem or other trailer combinations; and what about other stuff relevant to real trucking that would make this game a real simulator.
I am not a hater, but I am afraid they're going to come out with more generic games that has only better graphics.
Hey any news about that new patch for ETS 2 ?
Paul aka DaSquirrelsNuts said in a video that SCS had finished 1.9 in November. They didn't release it because they had many issues and from November until now they have been testing and fixing the issues. The AI traffic code and physics improvements was suppose to be release as 1.8 in December. I hope that the waiting time is worth because i understand that there are many fans from the community who are bored waiting and waiting. Just have patience and it will come. They are a small team working on several projects in parallel.
ReplyDeleteYo, dumbass Driver whatever...
ReplyDeleteGetting free patches doesn't mean you're supporting the developer...
Maybe they should sell those patches as DLC's to you... I wonder how supportive would you be, then?
F**k off, biatch!
SCS come on! It's been 4 months since the last patch came out. Give us 1.9!
ReplyDelete@Driver Geo
ReplyDeleteI only agree with you in the last part. And as a modder I have to say that this game is very easy to mod. How do you know that the daf euro 6 was suppose to be released by now? Whats your source? You haven't watched the whole video of dasquirrelsnuts. He said that SCS had finished the patch in November but they didn't release it because they had problems with it. From November until now they have been testing and fixing the problems. The ai code and physics was suppose to come on December as 1.8. Did you know that there are 32+ builds of 1.9? SCS and all the beta testers are working very hard. Mulitplayer is impossible in ets2 due to the games code. This means a completely re-write of the games code and SCS needs more people. And finally can you explain to me the purpose of having multiplayer in a game like ets2? It will probably be full of trolls like you!
What type of controls is it, tilt or onscreen wheel
ReplyDeleteread the world of trucks news. 1.9 is now in open beta, download and be happy and quit whing already!
ReplyDeleteThank You SCS!
ReplyDeleteWow! Anybody who comments anything along the lines of "SCS don't care about their fans" should be locked up and never allowed to play a game again... well over a years worth of work on an AI/physics engine as good as this obviously is given away for FREE... that means dedication. Keep it up, up, up SCS; this is amazing! Wheels that turn on AI traffic finally!
ReplyDeleteGreat! Waiting for Android version and if it will support hard buttons it will be really cool!! (Guess 0,0099% of all users have devices with it but nevertheless...
ReplyDeleteOutdoor activities are very important for kids in their overall development. Not only it gives them the necessary exercise, their immense energy is constructively put to use. Children learn a lot from such outdoor activities, especially in team games. Recreation activities can be planned with family members and sometimes, other kids of the same age group. Playing outdoors can develop the reflexive, decision making and observing skills in addition to improving focus and concentration.
