We are happy to report that we are proud owners of twenty tons of sand.
We also happen to own a trailer to carry it around, repeatedly, as need arises.
We have been doing it wrong. Until now. The truck sound recordings.
We have been through several recording sessions with various trucks, but we were never quite satisfied with the results. We have never managed to record the necessary variety of sounds, and most importantly, as we seldom had access to a loaded trailer; we lacked sounds with the truck engine working under strain.
Now finally, we are going to fix the problems. This IVECO sound recording session starts a new era for us, and we should now come up with much better results. With the quality bar pushed higher, we will need to go back and revisit most of the trucks we have already considered "done" - but the result should be well worth it.
We are a bit crazy, still trying to improve what some people now consider an "old game" - but we definitely do plan to keep improving and evolving Euro Truck Simulator 2 for a long time. And it is only possible thanks to your continuing support. Thank you guys! [Yes, this is where earnings from stupid things like paint jobs DLCs is invested into]
This time the final cut of the video material recorded during the sound recording is quite more extensive than usual. You can tell that the sound recording and filming crew - Irenej, Matej and Milos - all had a lot of fun during the two days of the recording session. Over 50 GB of raw sound was recorded! Out of so much sound data, with any luck, you should hear a bit in one of the upcoming game updates.

Deletemy bad wrong spot, lol.
DeleteEnough of this shit! Where is the 1.11 update final build?!
ReplyDeleteIt is still in beta stage
Delete"Unless something unexpected is discovered in the beta, we hope that it will only take a couple of days in beta before we are ready to make the final build for Steam and retail editions of the game."

Just run beta, lol
DeleteBeta doesn't work with promods
DeleteWon't work with the final version either, until the promods guys update it.
Delete1.11 final isn't the ultimate solution of all of humanity's problems. Enjoy the beta.
Quote "Enough of this shit! Where is the 1.11 update final build?"
DeleteEnough of your bad attitude .... show some respect you coward!
They basically have the updated version ready for the 1.11 patch, they are just waiting for the final version to release their update.
DeleteGuys, create an option on the blog, at play, on the web, on the forum to donate money to improve the game, many Donaria people money, SCS would contract more employees, would work faster, you sell more games, DLC's, and all would gain. Nice video.
ReplyDeleteSorry for my english. I think you understand what I mean.
I agree with "paying more" - however you should get something in return. There are paintjobs, DLCs, etc. already. You can choose to buy another game of theirs as well.
Deletepaint DLC are nice and all, But the game is missing what would make a bigger difference in the whole driving wourld. A reason to drive.. To easy of a game no good reason to drive maybe a week. Then you got everything you need. I love trucks Been a that way since I was 8 Years old. 35 now. I dove OTR for 2 years All over US. I buy pretty much every game that comes out of trucks. That being sayed. Much I love to get into the game I can't. Its way to easy not goal. http://www.justflight.com/product/air-hauler-download. Now if they added something like this as a DLC I would be willing to pay 60 dollars for. In a trucker way of course, But gives a goal A reason to drive. That what the game is really missing and needs so badly. Sounds Are nice and all, But not what will bring it to the next level. They could make a DLC something like the Air Hauler, They Could make this game Be the best sim of years to come!!
Deleteyeh but keeping it arcade = more players = $$$
DeleteWaiting for the v8 sound pulling under load then......can't wait......:))))))))
ReplyDeleteFinally some tire sounds! Just doesn't sound real without. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI really like the paint job DLC's. Pretty much only DLC's I buy. I have like 7 different Paint DLC's lol. My recent the US and Polish DLC.

ReplyDeletesom open windows
ReplyDeletePlease Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please SCS READ THIS !!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a professional musician and I know 'thing or two' about sound and recording. I'm all about the interior sound because that's what matter for me and 90% of everyone that plays that game. The current interior sound is like the engine is placed in the middle of my head, and that's because it is mono. Yes, it moves when you turn your head in the cabin but not in the proper way. The engine is not in your head, it's there on your right beneath you. Since you will probably re-record some of the trucks you've already recorded, but please do it the right way this time, and buy that I mean in Stereo. I can see from the video you've got your hands on a nice piece of recording hardware (Roland R-88 and pretty good mic's), and you have the right tools to make a stunning quality sound recordings.
Here's my proffer for you on how can you achieve the correct way to record the interior sounds in order to have maximum sound immersion in the game. That way the sound perspective's gonna be as it is expected to be in the game because the cabin acoustic is missing. So here's a 2 simple ways how can you do it:
1. Get a paired mic's and point them on 180 degrees away one from another while the distance between the mic heads is approximately the same as the distance between the ears on the human head. Mount the setup on the driver's head and record the interior sounds.
Or, the 'redneck' way
2. Get your self a Sony PCM-D100 (for example), some sticky tape. Tape the Sony to the driver's head and press Record. I'd really want to see that in the next sound recording video. LOL
I really couldn't care less about the exterior sounds because:
FIRST- it says 'Simulator' in the title which means that while you drive you can only see and hear from the driver's seat perspective.
SECOND- it is very unlikely for a truck driver to be able to hang or fly outside of the very same truck that he suppose to drive...well....unless his name is Superman, I'll take my words back for this.
Anyway, thank you very much for what you've done so far with ETS 2, and surely you have the full support from us the SCS fans. Keep up the good work !!!
TL;DR and I don't care.
DeleteThat's not a very good advice because when you move your head there should be a different sound.
DeleteMost games use a 3D sound engine, which gives them the liberty to place a sound in the 3D virtual space. They should place the recorded file in the same place as it was recorded, but also they should apply little reverb with damping since truck cabs absorbs most of sound reflections.
They should do the same for Weather sound too, which now is just like a file playing in background, no changing in the freq spectrum when you move the head.
In conclusion they have to recreate the acoustics of the cab too for sound to be as realistic as possible, because when you record close to the source there will be less acoustics involved and this would lead to a very dry sound with no character. Adding little ambiance with reverb especially for outside sounds, also delay in some cases, would make it seem more real.
Yes, of coarse the sound's gonna be different if you move your head when you record in stereo due to the acoustics of the cabin. I'm not familiar with or how 3D sound engine that is being used in the games works exactly but I suppose it is a matter of defining the dimensions of the space, where the sound is gonna be placed, dampening and reflection of the sound of that closed space. The engine sound it self can be treated as a 'mono' source in a defined space (I know the actual sound in the cabin is a perceived as a combination of the engine sound plus vibrations from the chassis, driver's seat and etc. but we don't need to dig that deep in this), if the algorithm is right, mono source placed in 3D space with it's defined acoustical properties can be very convincing to the ears. It's like placing a single speaker in a room, you can easily define from where the sound is coming from. But what it is in the game now is like that speaker is inside your head, which is very tiring for the ears, the sound is dull and very unnatural.
DeleteI'm not that sure that if you take that mono sound and add some 'room reverb' or well dosed delay would do the trick, even though it could be noticeable improvement if it's done right. For the outside it can be easier to recreate because it is a open space and there are much less sound reflection (excluding tunnels, passing close to city buildings, walls...etc.). If for the weather, it would be much more complicated because the sound of the rain is omnidirectional, it doesn't come from just a single point which could be a challenge to recreate properly, but in this case just a stereo recording of the rain inside the cabin would do the job for me, most of the people have only a stereo desktop speakers or headphones.
The recording in stereo in the cockpit would be great. Even if only the Numblock 5 view would be real with it, it would be more than super for me.
DeleteI hope that will change in terms of VR sound with the advent of VR goggles something soon. (Google translate ^ ^, sounds wrong but no matter)
So, get a tripod with two microphones close to the head of the driver.
But in addition to this shared desire for stereo:
Absolutely super, SCS team! You are doing a great job!
Nice sounds! Looking forward to hearing this in game! Keep up the good work! I've only just discovered ETS2 and am looking for much more fun to come!

And i think you have absolutely no idea how hard it is to program this Game
DeleteSCS is a very small game developer in Praha who hasn't got money like ea, and so they can't afford to take the risk to sell such garbage like ea does
Anonymous July 15, 2014 at 5:32 AM ..... I know .... it's not fast enough for any of us of course ..... but comments like yours above really only serve to display your own inexperience and lack of understanding of the world you live in .... that is it happening is the beauty here .... a lot of other devs would have moved on and forgotten the title already.
DeleteNo trust me, I know. Probably more than you. How long dd it take them to get 1.9 out? Almost a year? And every time they put a beta you can download, they always say it will go live in a few days. Here we are, a week later and its still not live. Same thin for 1.9. They said a couple days and I think it was beta for about a month. So yes, they're very slow.
DeleteWayne!
DeleteThey are still working on ETS 2 and that is more than great.
"We are a bit crazy, still trying to improve what some people now consider an "old game" - but we definitely do plan to keep improving and evolving Euro Truck Simulator 2 for a long time"
Yes, they are crazy! You should be happy that you can play with 1.9 and now with 1.11 beta. They could have made a cut after 1.1 or 1.2 and make a ETS 3 with the other features they have given to us for nothing.
But no, you are crying about a few month of wating ... who cares about a few month of waiting?
And take a second look at the video. This is only work for the sound. It took a few days just for recording ONE Truck! Many hours x3 SCS Guys who wants to earn their money. Also the hardware witch is in use in the video. Money, money, money. And after recording, there are still many many hours @workstation and testing the results and fix and test and fix and test and alpha and beta and open beta and and and .... AND they will give it to us for free after all.
And you are crying about a few weeks or month ... oh, they ar soooo slow ... I want to play *stamping on ground* I want! I want! I want!^^
SCS don't care of AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR---> Fan's they only care for -->CAB OVER truck Fan's
ReplyDeleteTrust me, ATS is developing quite nicely ;)
DeleteYep, thankfully SCS listens to their fans. We don't want amirican truck simulator, we want SCS to focus entirely and wholeheartedly on ETS2.
DeleteATS beta-testing is going well ;)
DeleteATS beta-testing! LOL! Lies lies lies! ATS doesn't exist, it's not even in the alpha phase yet. At least they now have a 20 ton sandpit where amiricans are allowed to play with spade and bucket. Maybe that's the beta-testing you're harping about.
Delete^^ and that attitude is why you are not in SCS test group.
Deletewhy is it when ATS is brought up. People start crying about when it will come out. Then Europe and others start raging on US players like they are trash or something? This is a Sim For Drivers. Not a FPS war game. You think people have a little more respect for others. Yes I'm from the US. I would love to see ATS come out. Frankly more than ETS2. However I do respect that that there trucks and passion. Just US trucks Are mine. And All though I may like US trucks more. I do respect and like over seas trucks as well. Being a driver is a way of life. No matter what the trucks looks like. It freedom to go down the road and see things that most cannot see. I enjoy seeing other countrys and learning, There lifestyles. May not be my way over I have respect for the driver that they are Just as Myself. Show some respect guys we all have a passion for the same thing.
Deleteat least gamespot is talking about it
DeleteGamespot is talking about it? So what are they saying then? Please enlighten me.
Deletenew sounds for all truck available 2025..just like ATS -_-
ReplyDeleteshut the fuck up. ATS will be released when its ready! Not when you think its ready. If are bored waiting then go and start your own software company and make games.
DeleteOr ride your bike while making truck sounds.
DeleteFuck off i will say what i fucking want, cunt
DeleteGrow up kid.
DeleteFirst off, shut the fuck up Uxot. You are making yourself look like you have autism.
DeleteSecondly, I don't know how likely it is that this is real but on Amazon it had a release date for American Truck Simulator at the end of August (this year).
Was any of the previous "release dates" mentioned on various sites real?
DeleteIt would be nice if you took some tips from the roadways that the truck was driven on, like the smaller roads with trees and shrubbery closer to the road.
ReplyDeleteGood to very good. It is great that you keep going to improve the game world of sound all the time. Thank you and good luck
ReplyDeleteThank you for great work, SCS.
ReplyDeletePlease don't forget MAN and Mercedes Sound, the actual sounds aren't good.
Сцс самые тормозные разработчики на свете. Блядь сайт АТС до сих пор не запущен а информация о игре поступает уже второй год. Судя по всему игра не выйдет в следующем году. ReplyDeleteWith all due respect to you guys, specially the sound-crew experts. I hope you take this as a friendly comment, not as if I was some kind of smart-ass, because I don't know what's behind on the code, what you brainstormed, or how you work. So here it goes.
ReplyDeleteAbout the sound, I find several flaws in the current system (that maybe get fixed now, but I can't know), that sometimes make my game enjoyment not what it should...
First, I noticed that for the exterior you focus into placing mics on the exhaust, on the back-engine itself, etc... Not sure how these get mixed, but the exterior sound should have 4 recording points (one for each side), and from 3 distances: really close, some meters away, and several meters away. As the player zooms in and out, those sounds should be played.
So if I'm looking at the truck closely, I hear the "very-near" sound, switching properly from one mic to other as I turn around. As I zoom out, sound should be switched eventually to the "mid-far", and "very-far" sound, which changes because you stop hearing certain things you hear when you are up close.
So basically, exterior sound shouldn't be limited to those mics fixed on some places. A person standing outside hears different things.
Another exterior problem: no doppler, or real "fast-truck" sound. If you sit next to a highway where trucks go at 90km/h, they sound like some kind of heavy space ships. In the game, we just get some "crak-crAK-CRAK-CRak..." passing by.
A truck does not sound the same when you are sitting on it with your head out, or when you just see it go by rolling. As an example: When I was a kid I was surprised when I first herad an F1-car from the inside. Certainly sounds different, isn't it? Well same happens here. You can't use the same exterior sounds recorded by the mics placed in the cab.
My idea as a complete ignorant in sounds recording:
- Static mics placed on the road, for static camera (8), at different places: coming from front and passing by, and on the sides (and of course at different speeds and RPMs).
- Following car for outside camera (2). Sound recorded from 4 sides of the truck, with and without trailer, and from different distances (same, different speeds and RPMs).
This way if I decide to press 8 and see my truck coming and going, I will hear a proper sound of a truck with doppler effect, and if I press 2 I will hear a similar sound to when I go with my car and slowly overtake a truck.
Hope this helps or gives you ideas in case you didn't think about this, which I doubt, and thanks anyway for working on the sounds again. They are very important indeed, because one of the things most truck fans enjoy is the engine sound.
Regards!
If I'm not mistaken, ETS 2 and ATS are made by 2 different teams of developpers. So we should not worry... I hope.
ReplyDeleteNo is not true is all Lie's
DeleteAnonymousJuly 15, 2014 at 9:31 AM You say Bull Shit they have two teams, but inside a team some are working on graphics other on prog' and so on. I don't know how much employe they have but they are not much so that's why it takes time :(
DeleteThey don't have two teams. There's only one team: humans. It doesn't matter if you're homo, we all belong together.
DeleteAnonymousJuly 16, 2014 at 12:58 PM One team of Human for ETS 2 and another team of Human for ATS !
DeleteNow if there would be a volume slider in audio options for interior engine sound that would make that perfect. Louder interior engine sounds have been asked for how many years now? I mean really its pointless to record every fart when nobody can hear it.
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteDear team SCS.
ReplyDeleteWhen to wait for the addition to the game, BUS - simulator ?
It will be super!

ReplyDeleteAmazing! Good work! Silentnoise and SCS Software Team! :))
ReplyDeleteGreat! Now you will update the Iveco sound sometime soon right? Like next year?
ReplyDeleteWe are STILL waiting for the Daf and Mercedes MP4 you work on for half a year now..
Finally some propper sound recording session and finally you recorded wheels sound! SCS please don't forget about the turbo sound and the air brakes sounds. I hope you will record all the trucks and you will make ETS2 better with those new sounds.
ReplyDeleteI will stop reading this blog and go away
ReplyDeleteI can't wait another month to see the update released , really annoys me
Since 1.9.22 version the game is gettin' worse :(
Bye, best wishes and good luck. Come back perhaps when you start shaving. ..." game is gettin' worse :( " PZZZZZ
Deleteworse i mean with the new physics and AI
DeleteSo you're attacking defenseless AI people now? What did they ever do to you?????? Leave the AI alone you bullying prick.
DeleteTHE PRICK you are, i've just said my opinion ;)
DeleteSome Nordic roads? Some ATS?
ReplyDeleteI won't stick to this anymore
Most of the players do not even drive Iveco. I ask kindly that you would DAF and MP4 trucks. Players have been waiting for them for more than half a year. Mercedes and DAF is much more popular than the Nissan. SCS please make these two trucks already!
ReplyDeleteI mean nissan Iveco an advantage in
DeleteHi SCS Guys , hope the new feature will make more realistic with sound of trucks when breaking or taking speed , keep up the great work as always.
ReplyDeleteAbout paint job DLC as you said stupid things that you have ever released , am against and not also , this is not improving the game , but maybe you should do one pack with many paintings inside and sell them at right price maybe that shall make buy more fan of ETS 2 community , and to close the subject don't make us wait too long for the 1.11 patch please.
Thank you for improving this game.
ReplyDeleteThere's too much hate in this comment section! Yes, I want new trucks and roads, but the fact that they take time to do this properly is more important than getting a poor product at an earlier stage. They own a truck full of sand just to make this game better!
ReplyDeleteTo all the developers, sound engineers, business people and everybody else at SCS Software: thank you for still improving this game! It's nice to see that there is a company out there willing to take time to create good DLC's instead of rushing out mediocre content!
Good post.
DeleteI think a sickofan message of SCS can do not wrong is equally unhelpful as the hate sometimes cropping up in these blog posts. But with such a diverse player set, it's not too surprising.
That there are posts of reason such as yours is what helps keep the balance.
SCS are getting a clear message that their customers want these trucks asap.
I think SCS should DLC these new trucks for a cost when ready and try to get them out as soon as possible whilst still maintaining their quality standards .... and still some folks will piss anger anyway ....
best to laugh and ignore at that point!
"We are proud owners of twenty tons of sand"
ReplyDeleteWhen I read that I thought everyone at SCS was going insane...
Anyway, I think its really cool that you want to update the sounds... But that won't change the fact that the older models are still very unappealing to drive. (Man, DAF, old Iveco)
I think the Renault trucks are kind of alright (apart from the low res textures in the interior) but the sounds are aweful!
If I play the game I only drive Scanias, Volvos and sometimes DAFs. The other trucks are unbearable to drive.
I don't blame you for never fixing them though, I totally understand that it's not actually worth it to fix them.
Oh well, atleast you're changing the aweful sounds (though I'm not really expecting it this year).
.... "[Yes, this is where earnings from stupid things like paint jobs DLCs is invested into]" .... made me smile. Of course the majority know this, well maybe not the specific spend plan but that the money is used for investing the future of the company, it's people, products and projects .... nice to see these actions are happening .... ETS2 has much pffer still ... this game is not old .... it's current and loved ..... SCS ... keep it up and why not have a little fun too ... all good news.
ReplyDeleteDear SCS,
ReplyDeleteIt's stuff like this that makes me love you guys, a lot of other game developers could have just left there game as is and carried on making a new one, pumping it out yearly, but you guys are always finding something to improve for this game.
A lot of people may complain about about the paintjobs (I personally don't mind them), but it's knowing when I buy the skins, and we, the fans, get blog update posts like this, that's when I know it is really worth it. Keep on trucking SCS!
Awesome work and really nice video. Thanks and keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteCant wait for 1.11 update whenever it comes out :) I was wondering when it would come out because im waiting for promods 1.7 to come out.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't want to see the promods new version ;)
DeleteОтлично, позитивно, надеюсь звук будет на высоте, спасибо SCS.
ReplyDeleteYou are crazy. I love you.
ReplyDeleteEvery company in this industry should go visit you guys, and see how its done. They could ALL learn alot from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you SCS for your hard work!
You could put the option of raising the 2nd axis
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome!
DeleteIt would be great when we unloaded floor and having the option to walk with suspended axle.
DeleteI think your paintjobs and DLCs aren't absolutely stupid:on the contrary, I'm waiting for Italian paintjob and the Nordic DLC.
ReplyDeleteGood work SCS. Realase the 1.11 soon
Very nice.... Thank you SCS !
ReplyDeletePlease do somthing with the cabin suspension. wen we hard brake it stop like shit. Do more soft suspension.
Thank you for your hard work.
Cheers from ROMANIA !
Yes, this is where earnings from stupid things like paint jobs DLCs is invested into]
ReplyDeleteVery nice scs best reaction ever :) maybe i don't buy them but it seems like paintjobs are more helpful than many people think =P (MUHAHAHA for all the haters)
Nice! Do the same for all trucks, change the engine sounds! :D
ReplyDeleteSCS you're the most customer friendly, hardest workin' greatest bloody company on earth and maybe universe : other companies would let the sounds as they are and you want to revisit all those truck-dealers and do all that recording stuff again just because we think we need it, people you wouldn't need to care about, really, shouting at you to do and so on... so many people actually don't deserve your extraordinary, outstanding and tremendous support and game improvements
ReplyDeleteIs there a possibility of a Norwegian or Scandinavian paint job DLC? Would gladly buy it along with the Going North DLC.

ReplyDeletePLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Make original wheels pack for all trucks!
ReplyDeleteRight way
ReplyDeleteScs go go go
Please dont forget to record a fully loaded trailer
ReplyDeleteGood job guys, please continue to evolve. [Yes, this is where earnings from stupid things like paint jobs DLCs is invested into] , I for one would pay for an old trucks pack(I know it's a lot of work) say a truck pack from the 80's 90's and the 00's , And I'm sure there are a lot of people more than paint jobs dlc that would by it , of course some of the younger generation will be confused , so I would like to know what other players and game developers feel about this subject
ReplyDeletewhy would the younger gen be confused i know f2000,merc 1643, scania 143 and all those others and i'm in the younger gen i guess most of the people that play ets2 know a lot or at least enough about trucks to know older trucks
DeleteThe majority of players know very little about trucks in general, let alone specific truck models. that is why SCS said they can't have more realistic physics. Most players don't know a truck can't take a sharp corner with a loaded trailer at 100km/h!
DeleteMy fantasy: In ETS3 you start with an old used truck and you can buy new and used trucks at the truck dealership. The longer the used truck has been used, the more the chanses of failure.
DeleteETS3 aint going to happen.
DeleteSCS will keep putting a fresh coat of paint over everything and then come back to the same areas a few years later and put another new coat of paint on.
It is the bridge maintenance software design approach.
WTF SCS. Fuck the casuals, FIX THE PHYSICS! Or someone else will and you will not see anymore of my money.
DeleteThe "casuals" are SCS' bread and butter, so they feel they have to cater to them.
DeleteThey should have BOTH a real physics option and arcade physics (current physics) option so 'casuals' are happy and real truck enthusiasts are not stuck with 'Trucksims For Dummies'.
Only if that full simulation radio button existed in the game config settings to switch ETS2 from the default arcade mets sim mode ..... complete with the entire wishlist of the community [now that's a list!] [ physics, sounds, realism, immersion, driver management, real economy, trailers, hitching, pull tests, weight stations, maintenance, damage models, weather, traffic delays, dispatchers, and the list goes on and on and on]
DeleteThis for me would be the spirit of then next evolution ... call it ETS3 if you want to put a label on it .... but it's be fine as a DLC for ETS2 with a price to suit ..... 30 Euro ... done, here's my money ...
Whoa!!!! Jack wakes up from his dream .... hmmmm
Thank you very much developers and keep up the amazing work!
ReplyDeleteVery nice idea! But please make also a sound recording of a Scania with an open exhaust as I think that many of the fans would very much appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be awesome. The more realistic the game gets, the more I can't stop playing it. One question, though... Why the interior of the trailer?
ReplyDelete"We are happy to report that we are proud owners of twenty tons of sand.
ReplyDeleteWe also happen to own a trailer to carry it around, repeatedly, as need arises."
You guys should use this opportunity to look at and improve truck handling and trailer physics as well.
Then whilst you are rebuilding the physics you could make it possible for multiple pivot points so modders (or yourselves) can create:
-double/triple trailer combinations
-trailer dollies that actually move
Even single-trailers such as drop-deck (heavy/oversize) can benefit by being able to have a steering front gooseneck dolly. Here is a picture of one in ET2:
http://imgur.com/24mMZs7
I really want to support you guys at SCS but can't until I'm able to have trailers with multiple articulation points like your older games allowed :(

DeleteWe can mod sound ourselves already but we cannot make trailer mods with more than one pivot point until SCS allows it in game code :(
scs why do not AdBlue to renault magnum and why is not the sign on the door how heavy the renault magnum is.is the moglijk uncle to do the trukse flute horn in the game + 3 color LED cross in red white and blue
ReplyDeleteSCS, so now, for the audio purists, you will release a 50GB update with all the raw and uncompressed audio files, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteLMAO
ReplyDeleteEveryone that kept asking about the new truck models now has to wait till SCS finish reworking all the older trucks.
You mean they can't work on both at the same time?
Delete"We have never managed to record the necessary variety of physics, and most importantly, as we seldom had access to a loaded trailer; we lacked physics with the truck engine working under strain.
ReplyDeleteNow finally, we are going to fix the problems."
One can dream, anyway.. lol
Since we can't purchase our own trailers and have to drop off our trailers every load, it means we are regularly driving our trucks 'bobtail' (without a trailer) so will the truck sound be different with and without a trailer? Or always sound like we're pulling 20,000kg of sand?
ReplyDeleteThat would be great, but I think it is very hard to do that. In the video I saw that they record really a lot of stuff. In the stand @800rpm, @1000rpm, @1200rpm and so on + recording while driving x2 (no trailer/trailer) and driving up a hill (with and without trailer) and so on ... really a lot of work. To make it more real they also have to drive with different loads ... 5tons, 10 tons, 15tons, 20 tons for example and that with every truck they will work on and with all the sounds in and outside the truck. We know now that they are crazy ... but are they crazy³²²²³? :D
DeleteAnd 40 tons and maybe very heavy hauls
DeleteI think they will just mix the different sounds to create an 'average' sound. I can't see them doing different sounds based on trailer weights etc.
DeleteIt's nice to see improvments.
ReplyDeleteFor the next truck you take out to do recording, please take along your physics programmer(s) to have a go at driving the truck (on a private road - as I'm sure they don't have truck licenses) so they can understand the real handling of a truck + trailer and better recreate the driving experience in game to be closer to reality.
ReplyDeleteWell Pavel drove a truck from Scania in the past...
Deletewhen patch 1.11?
ReplyDeleteWhen it's ready for release.
Deletethey just play you to get more Money from you guys.dont Believe Everything they write!!!
ReplyDeleteThe patches are free. The upcoming trucks are free. The sound updates will be free. The DLC´s are optional and nobody needs to buy them.
DeleteThink before you write or tell us facts ... but this ... THIS IS BULLSHIT!^^
I am glad i purchased all the DLC. Even those i dont like. But i like to support you guys. Now fix the Iveco Stralis Dashboard!
ReplyDeleteRecording sounds from the trailer seems a bit pointless if you only have that curtainsider trailer to use because the sound is specific to that type of trailer and it will sound out of place using that one sound for all the different types of trailers that are in your game.
ReplyDeleteYou could use it for trailer attach/detach sound, airline connect/disconnect sounds etc though.
You should finish Iveco first, release it as part of next update and then see community feedback to see if it's worth doing for all trucks as it's a long process and many people I think just use sound mods now anyway.
ReplyDeleteTire noise during hard cornering etc?
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm wielder euro truck simulator 2 scania streamline truck in the game when I step on the ladder select accessories is black or he could have this problem, help me live version of the game on an error
ReplyDeleteSince you're ging to upgrade the sound of all the vehicles, can you upgrade the models themselves too? All the default trucks (+ inside Highway) - the new volvo is the quality you should take for all default + upcoming vehicles! Add missing engine badges, missing pedals, closed sunroof (inside) Highway, missing gearshifters etc. Small details but important ones. Those little details will help you 'buying/receiving' the usage of real company logos :) it should have been fixed way ahead of other things but because of the sound rework I think it a nice moment to finish the leftover details. Maybe even release it together with the new models everyone is expecting :)
ReplyDeleteGood job SCS... We're very happy with the concern that you have with your customers in always make the best product. Thank you, keep going with that rsrs.
ReplyDeleteOf all the Brazilian players
Sim! Yes!!! Nos Brasileiros estamos contentes :D
DeleteOkay!
ReplyDeleteTo get better, missing only open the windows to the terms external sound inside the cabin.
And how about putting information on the Routes in GPS supervisor?
Radio And also we do not need to exit the game to use it.
New ETS2 Paint Jobs Pack: Fantasy!
ReplyDeletegreat! Now do this for every other model of truck in the game!
ReplyDeleteNah, Jk. Good work, SCS!
It sounds terrible in real life so I wouldn't worry how it sounds in-game.
ReplyDeletewell i can sadly say that if the new patch won't came out before 1 aug , i will never play this game because of many things - intersections so silly , cities too small , road signs , gas stations
ReplyDeletethe game isn't so bad but i think that when these things will be fixed i will be back , for me this are priorities , the game to be more realistic
It's not the game that needs to be more realistic, it's you. It doesn't matter if the patch comes out before 1 august or not, what's the big deal? Are you dying?
DeleteIf you're expecting the massive changes to the game with the things you don't like, you may as well stop now, because those changes aren't happening anytime soon. It would take a massive total rework of their complete map to change those things.
Deletei don't understand why it's taking so long because the guys that wrote on their forum no many bugs were found :)
DeleteThey find new bugs all the time. It's not SCS that's slow. It's the beta-testers that must work harder and faster. They must report every bug as soon as possible so SCS can fix them. But the beta-testers are lazy bastards, The open beta on Steam isn't doing any good if people don't report the bugs. To quote SCS themselves: "only install it if you want to help spotting and reporting possible problems!"
DeleteHi, I'm wielder euro truck simulator 2 scania streamline truck in the game when I step on the ladder select accessories is black or he could have this problem, help me live version of the game on an error
ReplyDelete?
DeletePlease improve ai traffic light brightness/contrast, for both rear and front lights, they are too dark(the actual light bulb not the illuminated area on ground)
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI've configured steam to use public beta and I only have found one minor problem: when I wanted to leave town Innsbruck, I came to a T-crossing and there was a constant stream of cars and trucks coming from the left side, so it was impossible to leave Innsbruck without causing an accident and on the right was a huge queue of cars who wanted to go left to enter Innsbruck. Or is this a new feature "Rush Hour"?
You should report that in the bug forum. http://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=147
DeleteI hate these places too, they have always been in ETS2 and not even the new AI solved them.
Correct me please if I'm wrong. On the market there is no pc stearing wheel special made for truck simulators? Some of you are using G27 from Logitech and lower models, others a lot of different types and brands. I'm using Genius TwinWheel 900FF but I'm not happy of it. This stearing wheels are for normal cars. They were not design for trucks. Why can't we us truck wheel for truck simulator? Did anyone try to discuss of it with producer of that kind controller? This question is directed to SCS a specially. Did you ever discuss e.g. with Logitech of it? In my opinion it is high time to do something with it. I want to have big truck stearing wheel, with truck gear shifter, with truck handbrake. I'm surprised that noone made this so far. Our community is growing fast. In the nearest future (I hope) you will launch American Truck Simulator. This is huge market for you. There will be thousends of new players. My question is: why don't we have truck wheel controler genuine? We should do something with it. In those days customers set trends. We should spam Logiteh with question of stearing PC wheel for trucks (coach?). SCS should also asks them of it. What do you think of it?
ReplyDeleteWith products from logitech (DFGT, G25, G27) you can configure the degree wheel, so as to make real trucks are about 774 ° and can also make modifications to the product, such as adding a wheel truck. You can also make your own pedals and shifters good quality, homemade and adapt the design to the truck.
DeleteYes, you are right. But we still don't have dedicated product. I want to have not synchronized gear box. In the shifter you should have a switch low and high gear. All switches e.g. turn signal, light switch etc. Thrustmaster Integral T500 it is a controller for F1 bolid of Ferrari. Don't you think that we should have our own controller? If I have correct data SCS had sold about 80000 copies of ETS2 in 2012. It is huge community and potential customers. I'm very, very suprised that noone thought abou it.
Delete@Vladimir Mateev
DeleteWrong. Real truck sw turns 5 full turns (2.5 left/2.5 right)
which is 1800 degrees.
and there is no gaming wheel that turns 1800 degrees.
Most players (majority) use keyboard and automatic transmission.
DeleteOnes who do use steering wheels with H-shifters usually don't buy them for trucking games alone, so I don't think market for truck-specific game controllers would be big enough.
You will probably have to make your own.
I bet that SCS has the information about the number of payers who is using PC wheel controller World of Trucks). Don’t forget about American market which is huge and and with the potential. I think I will ask the producers of the controllers of it. SCS could make questionnaire on the blog about the way of control by the players. It will show what is the situation. I’m really interested in that kind of product and I quest a lot of players too.
Delete@Anonymous It may be, but this game is not configured to 900 º, it´s configured to 774 º, if you have an G27, G25 or DFGT you can test.
Deleteseems a rather pointless waste of time money and resources
ReplyDeletewould much rather they spent the time upgrading the game rather than the sound when it pulls a single certain type of trailor
Respect for your engagement, SCS!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I want more lights for the trucks. like warning lights in led and led lights for the bars. that who'd be nice.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the best!
ReplyDeletePlease SCS. Put the best interiors in HD for example, where more is spent all the time in the game. 3D Buttons, HD textures, reflection in the glass of improved truck, these things make the game better.
ReplyDeleteMake yellow light stay longer on traffic lights. It turns to red so fast, that you get a fine unless you brake like crazy.
ReplyDelete@ Haluk Okur , totally agree with your comment , yesterday had to break like crazy to not cross traffic light when it went from green to red , would have said that yellow light was not working , it went so fast.
ReplyDeleteSCS, you know you guys are the greatest.. However, something you should improve is the delivery destinations. It make sense when you deliver a 25t excavator to a quarry, but it does not make any sense when you deliver digger, excavators to Eurogoodies, Transinet, it does not make sense! Now.. Think about these changes.
ReplyDeleteDeliver fuel to fuel stations, airports, bus stations, instead of going to Eurogoodies and other companies...
Deliver ammunition to military bases or any places that use them.
Deliver excavators and diggers to road works. Like those in the side of the highway.
Deliver chemical to labs.
Deliver food to supermarkets, schools.
Deliver glasses to construction sites, supermarkets.
Now, make sense? I really want to see these changes in future patches. Also it would be wonderful to use real company names, like in the we have Sainsbury's, ALDI, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, and so on.. Don't know about the continent..
I agree with almost all, but also with some changes.
DeleteFirst, the food delivery to schools it's a no-no. That's for city trucks, not international transport. Besides, destinations in ETS2 are on industrial areas, not the city itself.
I agree with big supermarkets, but not with the small ones you can find here and there, or in ProMods. Big trailers usually deliver to big markets with huge car parking areas, and this would be a nice addition, to have a big mall outside a city to deliver frozen food, meat, etc...
Also, buyable trailers should be a feature. I should be able to buy a fuel trailer, go to ANY chemical company, and then make my own route (or have it predefined) of different fuel stations.
On port, or forest areas, I should be able to load a log trailer and deliver it in whatever company needing logs.
And about excavators, there should be machinery companies here and there, in which you could bring your own flatbed (or just pick the job) and deliver them only to construction sites. Then the opposite, go pick a job to a construction site and deliver excavators only to this machinery renting companies.
I am sorry but the supermarkets in the size like displayed in promods are getting deliveries by those big trailer truck combinations. In my village is pretty much 2-3 days a week with 3 of those combinations. They had even to communicate with each other as the amount of trucks is ridiculous for our village center in one day.
Delete+1
ReplyDeleteI had same idea when ETS2 came out. We need deliveries that make sense!
I'd also add trees delivery from forest to sawmill in TreeET, cars delivery from "Skoda" to car dealership in towns and parts of wind turbine to some spots in open fields.
SCS people care for ATS fans not there is a new game company on san Francisco people find out the name of the company end talk to them to make AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR sens SCS wants to move AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR to the site end only work on ets arcade wannabe SIMULATOR game * ,:, *
