We are happy to announce the release of a new update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 - version 1.12. At the same time, High Power Cargo Pack DLC is released on Steam.
As has become the habit, the Steam version is updated first in the very final stages of test/release cycle to make sure no hot-fixes are needed for the 1.12 update before producing the retail update in a day or so.

ReplyDeleteI really don't mind having to wait a few more days for the retail version of the game to be updated. As long as I get the patch I'm happy.
And the same for the Public Beta on Steam, I don't mind they having it or getting small DLCs here and there. But as I said, as long the retail users get the patches and the major DLCs I'm happy. Thanks SCS. :)

DeleteI was actually a little disappointed with this 4th update when it was announced but perhaps it is growing on me ... it seems maybe it's a foundation to bigger and better things. In any case, SCS are being true to their word and developing out this great game hopefully in the directions of more and more 'sim' options and characteristics

Best simu?!!!! Whaaat?!!! XPlane is a SIMU, flight simu is a Simu, ETS 2 is a GAME (mostly for kids). Did you never drive a real truck?!!! I did, many trucks, and my experience says that this is only a "poor" game, by now. They would take forever to develop a "real" simulation.

ReplyDeleteI would like to drive them in ETS2 but, I think that They will never do it. There is no interest in that feature, it would be a waste of time and money if they started working on it. I am just referring to a "simple" activation of a second articulated point and, not to double trailers. This would take years and a new game development (ETS 3). New economy system, better physics and so on, so , no illusions, no double trailers, no multiple points, nothing!!!

I don't mind supporting a company and i'm trying to do exactly that... but damn man.... IMO that's just overwhelming too expensive. I only paid $43.54 CAD for the entire game + expansion. Now SCS thinks i'm stupid enough to pay again the equivalent of 1/6 of that full price tag for just 7 trailers.
Why would I even bother when I can get loads more and more exciting trailers absolutely FREE by using mods.

your statements are true but if you're just wondering why someone would want to pay for something small as this dlc its they just want to give you something back for the money instead of a donation and get nothing back so there dlc's are really just a donation but you just get something back in return. so if its the one of the paint dlc's that cost 2 dollars or something you aren't really paying for the dlc your just giving them your money and you get the paint jobs as a gift for donations. this is how i see the dlc as but might be completely different how other people see it.

SCS deciding to use Steam as an after fact .... meaning after so many people have already adopted the SCS Official Website as our means of supporting SCS and achieving our updates/game etc.... is within the same comparison as DELL suddenly telling their long term customers that now they have to go to Walmart to continue usuing DELL services.
While also.... though i'm agreeing that Walmart is a great store.... one that I may even shop at from time to time..... isn't where I want to do my DELL business at. I simply don't want Walmart playing around with my computer.
At the end of the day.... my arguement is..... any company.... whether it be DELL, Walmart, ....... or SCS...... each has a responsibility to their fans. And that responsibility to some degree places a limit on the company's "free will". Sometimes.... in respect to business, and their customers... a company just can do what ever the hell it wants.

DeleteUnfortunately, legally at least, companies don't really have any responsibility to even update their game in the way SCS is doing so, let alone support every 'platform' like they are doing. If SCS wishes, they could legally switch over entirely to Steam releases for updates, DLC and everything of the sort.
DeleteThey aren't manipulating you to use Steam. What they are doing is saying "we will now use Steam for the majority of our content releases, you can take it or leave it". It is still to the choice of the user, it's just whether you get the updates immediately or you have to wait for them to compile the other version for retail release. It's whether you choose to have the DLC or not. By continuing to support the game outside of Steam, they are doing the opposite of what you say, and offering users a choice.

ReplyDeleteWhy a retail patch at this point? If it's only needed for the new DLC then it's pointless for non-steamers. It could easily be included in the next patch necessary for stuff that non-steamers can get too like the upcoming Going North DLC,

It's not really what SCS is offering that is depressing..... it more so how their offering it.
I am Brazilian and bought the DLC ETS2. I liked the trailers, but i also do some mods and downloaded, have the best mods in my ETS2 as Map TSM 5.1 which is great. Edict tb doing a great scene as people, with tax on companies, pier, put more helicopters with sounds, finally, I leave my ETS2 just the way I like. I have downloaded the new Daf mod ... that's great ... in HD ... Interior reflection the perfect glass have also a great Mp4 ... when he left the update (1.11) gave bug, red renault trucks, but when downloaded TSM 5.1 map, improved everything, turned everything running without bug. Tuning mods I have lights up neon underneath the truck, look out there folks ... has many terrible mods, leaving the game or even giving error even close, if you look, there are some that are excellent mods, because people who do like the game ... not only cominhões textures but the scenery around us, trees, shadows, streets, details ... finally. The only thing I ask of SCS, which has more realism in the interior, leaving everything in HD, 3D buttons, panel with reflection of the sun, finally a well-detailed cockpit ... because that's where we spent more time in the game.

It is cool driving trucks, but running your own company is something i really like to do.
Maybe even bring in rival companies to compete with?

People are complaining about the price of the new DLC, you don't have to buy it!. I love this game and if my £3.99 helps the company carry on releasing new content for this game then i'm more happy to pay it. They have given loads of free stuff on the updates and what's £3.99? Price of two pints maybe?. I'll always support SCS so whatever the next DLC is, count me in!. Remember, all roads lead to ausfahrt ;)

Great work SCS, i have a few suggestions record REAL truck horms, and fix your distances, i pass a services sign 1,000m i look at my mile counter, 1911 mi, next sign 1921 mi sliporoad. 1923. how is that 1000m?

ReplyDeleteI've just checked game in steam and got couple things to understand.
Delete1. cargo type selection isn't working - I choose category and list of cargos is empty, it's working only with "all" category.
2. I've brought new Cargo DLC and ain't see new cargos in list, only in "Info" -> "trailers"
The heavy duty skin on the Actros is messed up! The hazard stripe is on the side skirt instead of the front bumper...

DeletePlaying ets2 without dlc. SCS Software, this is how I feel about Steam, it has more potential to ruin a game than anything else, it took Spin Tires, Surgeon Simulator, DayZ, Train Simulator 2014, Kerbal Space Program and many other games and now Euro Truck Simulator 2. I would buy DLC if it was without Steam. This is a quote from a Steam user I shall not name,
Delete"Steam SUCKS!! I'm sorry I ever purchased games from them." I agree with this quote 100 percent. I've had so many problems with steam that I don't even touch it.

Hi SCS. I am sorry, but are you serious? You made DLC with name High Power Cargo Pack and any of trailers hasn't more than 25 tons. Why? I want heavy weight cargos and i can have 72 ton with mod for free. Now, I regret that I bought it. Please, add more heavy cargos to this pack. Thanks.

Probably mod. This happent to me too. :) I deleted Real Company and Trailer pack mod.

I've been able to view the newest DLC trailers on the About section of the mail menu & played with the truck/trailer review tools, I even bought the new Volvo truck, (so clearly the update & downloads worked) but none of these new trailers seem to be available for jobs. I don't know what gives.
DeleteIt was good idea to buy this thing. I turned off every trailer mods (mods which are turn on are only 50k wheels, 50kdaf, 50kaddons) and it is still not working. I do not see anything, skins, trailers, nothing from this "awesome" DLC. Next time just say, that you want money a I will give you some. You do not have to do some "awesome" DLC.
