Cabin Accessories Coming

We are about to launch open beta of another Euro Truck Simulator 2 game update - version 1.21. This is mostly maintenance release, with hundreds upon hundreds of touch ups of the map, improvements in road and terrain collision detection, AI code optimizations and improvements, some tweaks to physics, UI, sounds, and more.

This update also paves the way for a new DLC - Cabin Accessories. It's a collection of practical as well as totally impractical things with which you can decorate the interior of your truck cabin. Showing you the video below is better than trying to describe it in words; all the accessories are physics-enabled...


Update changes are:

VEHICLES
  • Improved reflections in the interior
  • Fixed spider paintjob from Halloween DLC missing for some variants of DAF Euro 6 cabin
  • Adjusted external interior for Actros 2009
CONTROLS
  • Added automatically generated Range-Splitter layout for H-Shifter
  • Improved compatibility with G29 force-feedback
SOUND
  • Improved sounds of tires and suspension
  • Improved sounds for manipulating blinker and brake sticks
  • Reduced volume of interior stick noises
MISC
  • Workaround for missing geometry on low-end Intel GPUs on OSX
  • Fixed possible use of incorrect files after switching between profiles with different set of mods
  • Corrected vegetation sometimes appearing at wrong places in the map
  • The hud mirror switching key (F2) now enumerates all combinations: both off, only far on, both on, only near on
  • Improved road collisions
You can find the beta in the public_beta branch on Steam. (Steam client -> LIBRARY -> right click on Euro Truck Simulator 2 -> Properties -> Betas tab -> public_beta - 1.21 public beta)

      In the base.scs folders there's a trailer with rear hook, but in the game you can't see that version, just the normal one. I changed in .sii file so it would appear in the game, but I can't use the rear hook... A screenshot I took http://sharemods.com/hvt0thjpzqhk/ets2_00000.png.html

      I've uploaded my mod for this new version of trailer with rear hook. This mod will work on 1.20 and of course 1.21.

    This is a pretty cool addition :) The inside of your truck has been a boring look compared to what you can do on the exterior. Now you can look like a proper trucker with all kinds of stuff on the inside of your ride. Will definitely buy this DLC when it comes out, and hope more of this kind gets released.

    The window hook points should never have been added tbh. It is illegal to put stuff in the window or on the dashboard that obstruct view.

      Its not illegal, as long as it isnt too much. In germany, there's a set püercentage of how much of the windshield is allowed to be covered.

      yeah i knew that.....m using them....main things are trailers....if u compare real_world...and ets there are only few types of trailers...what abt a complete trailer dlc...of completely new trailers(other than one in scaniadanvian) like for heavy haulage or roadtankers....(which looks like crap in game....) and about dlc of map i guess france maybe be next cool..bdw...

    Please, I am a long time player of ETS2 but the game has been less than optimal in some respects ... Please chassis 6x2 and 6x4 are buggy and are sliding when carry loads up to 15 tons, it's horrible! Try to repair it, I think I'm on my right as I paid for the game and too short this simulator, which is unique in the market in its category.
    My suggestion is:
    - Fix the chassis 6x2 and 6x4 that are buggy with heavy loads (all trucks)

    Finally, one last question: when we have the original sound of the new Volvo FH? And the original sound of MAN? Recalling that the sound of the old Mercedes and MAN model are the same today = P

      I think the beta has fixed the issue with those chassis, I noticed a big difference in how they control and its definitely different from before.

      lolbroh, SCS needs money for licenses, they need to pay their employees, rent, electricity and all that stuff. Plus new hardware if something gets broken.

      @Akula maybe you should read the blog a bit better and focus on the part that says "maintenence release", they very much do fix the game with every update AND include new content. By the way, just to attempt to get this into your thick skull one last time, THEY HAVE SEPERATE TEAMS. You know what that means? That means a small group of people work on one thing, while another group works on something else. There is a group that works on bug fixing, a group that works on DLC, a group that works on other projects, etc. They don't form the game around what YOU want, they form it around what the MAJORITY want and the majority DO want this DLC. ALSO, SCS is a business, and like EVERY business they need a source of income because the money they have now WON'T last long because there are more expenses than you think. And they do still have to aquire licences for additional trucks (and trailers in the future), just because they have a licences to use the logo doesn't mean they can add all the trucks they want without the manufacturer's consent.

      Akula, they need money to run the business: electricity, heating, paying to have an office space in central Prague, artists, programmers, map designers, truck modellers, some people to deal with all the financial stuff (licenses, brands etc.), office clerks, computer hardware, floor space at gaming conventions, various other taxes, and the publishers take a cut of the sales remember. And remember, all those people need to be paid about 20,000 euros a year each (20,000*40=800,000 euros). If they didn't make these DLC's, they'd run out of money, go into debt, and eventually, liquidation, never to be seen again.

      You'd probably still f*cking complain anyway.

      An exhaust should only smoke when there is engine trouble. During normal operation exhaust fumes are invisible and shouldn't emit more than a thin white vapour which dissipates quickly, which is due to condensation not combustion. If they introduced smoke it wouldn't be an accurate simulation, except if they did it only when the engine is damaged pending repairs.

      An Xbox 360 controller works well with the game. They're pretty cheap now and a million times better than a keyboard for driving.

    Hi, after update 1.20 i have big problems with MAN TGX chassis 6X4 and IVECO Stralis 6X4 with heavy loads 18T and 22T it's horrible ! No steering with truck !

      Dude, you got to think: They cant make an unlimited map. The scaling is 1:19, they cant do EVERY road on the entire mainland in the game. Some roads are decoration only, its been this way since 19 WoS PTTM, deal with it.

    Hi.. I wunder if its gonna be a tandem trucks in ets2 and ets2 multiplay?? It would be nice :) It will be mor realistic whit a tandem trucks and tandem whit Dolly to the wagon!! sorry for my bad English and sorry if i ask in wrong plase..

    Why i have lag since i got update 1.21 ? I have a high end pc , before update i have 50 fps , now i have 10-15 fps , i try to downgrade the game , but nothing , what should i do ? I have the game on steam with all DLC contents

      Try updating the drivers for your graphics card, doing this has proven to fix issues with FPS.

      You can adjust the Braking Intensity slider in the Gameplay settings to make the braking to what you find more "realistic"...

      Most trucks and trailers have ABS nowadays, so they won't lock up the tires. Plus the licensed manufacturers don't want a negative image of their trucks having brakes that lock up or else SCS would have to pull the logos.

      Air line connections has been requested before but I think its low on SCS's priority list.
      Euro 4 - 6 engines don't emit smoke due to emmission restrictions set on them in Europe.

    Hi,the brake does not work as before ( you need 500 Meter up to 1000 Meters to get stop 100 % LOOOOOL ) the night is not more so dark as before ( why we need anymore the Hi-Light beam or other light tunings?! With this your up-date is useless ) Bring back the old night and brake too !!! Many game controls are useless ( 90 % is useless ) I ( me as example ) use only 10 % from all game controls LOOOOL again ;) ... I do not understand you,why you make so extremely up-dates & many game-controls if many playes does not use them ?! I knew many ( Ets2 players ) friends who use as me ( only 10 % of game controls ) !!!!

      The brightness of the night depends on where you are in the world (just like real-life), the more northernly you go the brighter the night will be depending on what day of the year it is because of the Earth's tilt. The brakes intensity can be adjusted in the Gameplay settings, adjust the slider to the left for less braking power and vice-versa for more braking power.

    estou satisfeito pelo o que a scs esta fazendo pelo jogo. só pediria se podem colocar um gps no painel dos renault. é um caminhao que utilizo no meu jogo ao qual gosto muito. os acessórios não vão ficar visiveis quando forem colocados no painel se estivermos usando o gps do jogo para nos orientar.

    Everything in this game looks the same. Same quarry everywhere you go. Same bloddy Garage in every city. very small selection of AI Vehicles. What the hell do I need a bobblehead in my truck for?     também poderiam fazer com todas as luzes do caminhão fossem acessadas. fica chato você ver o caminhão lá com o design e ela não funciona. colocar mais upgrades para os caminhões. novas saias, novos acessórios externos para os caminhões, novas setas de direção, gps como novos modelos para os caminhões, etc... outra coisa quando pegamos um caminhão disponível na nossa frota. não voltarmos para a nossa garagem de origem e sim continuarmos no local onde estamos; pode até avançar o dia para chegar lá mas continuamos no mesmo lugar.

    I do not usually post anything online but because of few people being so against this DLC, I decided to post my own opinion. I love what SCS is doing and I think loads of game makers should learn from them! This DLC is really dandy and I love to have something like that in the game. There are mods with gadgets and stuff but because this one is made by SCS itself, it adds up physics, refelctions, animations and so on and it fits the entire game and it's look. I never really used any mods like that because of the lack of these features. Simple. Anyways no matter what another cool features SCS releases, I will always support them and give them my money, because they really deserve it! And in my opinion, this DLC is a bargain! So SCS keep it up! GREAT JOB. Me as a game trucker want to make my truck feel more like home since I drive a lot!

      I didn't buy my ETS2 from Steam either. But I did add it to Steam library and since then I got it linked to my Steam account and now I enjoy DLCs with it as well.
