Here we are, driving over new roads somewhere in the Nordics. Maybe you want to take a small peek, too?
Every time we set to work on a new world expansion, production logic would dictate that we should restrain ourselves to good-enough quality and just get the job done. After all, there are hundreds of thousands of players out there who always want more, and as fast as possible. There is definitely a very vocal part of the fan community showing lots of impatience with us.
Yet every single time, the desire to improve upon our previous work is stronger. The art and design team's push to raise the bar puts the pressure on the programming team, too. There is always the priority to improve our tool-chain, to improve the way we build the world, and not to lose performance even if we populate the world with richer content...
Our goals for the upcoming major world expansion is more efficient rendering, more impressive and true-to-life environments...
As before releasing Euro Truck Simulator 2, and before releasing Going East!, our bet is that our fans and customers are going to reward our ambition to ever improve. Even if it means that it's quite hard to get a reasonable estimate on when the work is going to be finished, as our grumbling publishing partners would attest! ;)

very nice scs !
ReplyDeleteloocks very nice...
please add some traillers new !
Cheers from ROMANIA !
Nice job.
DeleteCheers from Poland and the U.S.A.
Looks very well done!
DeleteAnd what about snow, dear SCS? Will it be possible to realise it in your Nordic dlc??
And again.. what about SCS Blender tools??..;-)
You are a Great team and you have a Great game... I enjoy it every day... But i wish to drive at South Europe at the future, like Italy, Greece and some other sountries of the south (Balkan countries).. keep good work... the pics are amazing...
DeleteYou can drive through Southern Europe (and Northern Africa) if you download and install the TSM map.
Deleteand how long is this going to take?2017
ReplyDeleteSTOP ! be ironic !
Deletegive them time to finish improvments !
Well, it does take a whole lot of work to make worlds. Fix any seems and cracks in and along the road surface. Check if the AI is working properly ... etc etc.
DeleteMy bet is that it won't be until Christmas if not Q1 2015, cause if SCS keeps improving instead of simply debugging there will be no end to its development. Besides as they have proven with the post release updates to the base game, they could simply start to further improve the Nordic map post release.
So Pavel... please just debug the darn thing and throw it out there. Improvements can come later, mate. ETS2 is an ever evolving game anyway, so just throw improvements/changes in via the updates.
Change THE WHOLE MAP scs...
ReplyDeleteBecause everywhere, every road looks exactly the same of each other. So you should re-design the whole map if you really want to "improve" something...
Add the same quality graphical environment with more details to areas of Germany in the original map. Thanks SCS, beautiful pics !!!
ReplyDeleteScrew Nazi Germans improve UK instead
DeleteNazis realy ? You stupid idiot !
DeleteI agree, the oldest part of the game (United Kingdom, Austria and Germany) don't fit in the whole game. Please overwork them!
DeleteThere is a big Change when leaving These countries and entering one of the newer ones (especially one of the Going East DLC).
PS That stuff with NAZI Shows that you are a disapointed and illiterate Person. My deepest condolences!!
In Germany would nice more cities around Berlin. Otherwise, nice new pictures about the new expansion. I did got 'Going East' and probably gonna get this one when comes out. Cheers from Brazil.
DeletePS.: Nazi Germans?! Where this guy come from?! A history book?! Let's talk about Russia: "Is no me, is only us, for the pride and glory of mother Russia." :)
Horray!!!!!! I love throwing money at your company! !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTake as long as you need .....but please don't take too long !
ProMods Scandinavia will always look better than SCS Scandinavia no doubt about that.
ReplyDeleteNo it wont SCS will probably work with ProMods so this version will probably be even better.
Deleteprobably.. probably..
DeleteYou heard it here first!
No Anonymous because ProMods make their own junctions on the highways than SCS and also SCS highway junctions are bland and boring to look at and drive on.
DeleteI think that boredom is number one enemy of this game/simulator. And question should be, how this expansion can bring bored players back to be paying customers? My suggestion is to bring some new elements that will apply on old roads and maps too. Like snow and ice weather. Or European modular system trucks that are common in north Europe. Build in multi-player game play would give tons of reasons to bored players to drive again too.
DeleteThis DLC is made in conjunction with Promods.
DeleteWell instead of having to redo and recreate everything, now promods only have to adjust and change model a few places, wich makes updates and overhauls alot faster and more stabel. Its going to reduce lag for low end pc ´s. And thats an important factor. with that said, its properly going to make us able to mod even further north faster and with less bugs and troubles. iceland soon maybe ? Imagine how manny places we going to be able to drive to. Im exited i tell you that much, and yes SCS upgrade on the map might not be as interesting as promods. But i got a feeling SCS didnt just invite to their studio for a tour. There is a catch. :)
DeleteFanstastic, better quality...graas and trees looks like this: http://ets2.lt/en/new-grass/#more-33756 ... good job SCS..
ReplyDeleteNew trucks (Mercedes; Renault; Daf)
ReplyDeleteNew features in the game (seat adjustment, etc.)
New expansion (new roads somewhere in the Nordics)
New game (ATS)
will there be enough for all this forces the developers and the community that used to wait? (rhetorical question)
number of colorings for trucks and lack of normal content for the game starts to frighten
DeleteGood work can't wait to drive on the new roads!!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Belgium...
bridges, bridges everywhere!!!
ReplyDeleteit's simply perfect!!!!
waiting for it!!
Very very impressive!!!!!
ReplyDeletebut wait for it???
Lovely pictures from a upcoming DLC which I will definitely buy. One wish from me though is to get some new upgrade parts for the trucks as that would be quite fun to have :)
ReplyDeleteYou will now throw us a few pictures every few days to buy time. Just write when the DLC comes out and what we can expect. Of course leave something for dessert.
ReplyDeleteNew jobs and trailers, kthx. :)
ReplyDelete"more impressive and true-to-life environments..."
ReplyDeleteGreat. Now do that with the physics. You know, the all important, truck driving part of a TRUCK SIMULATOR.
I can see from pictures that you like to drive automatic so perhaps the dev team is not that interested in truck driving, but I can tell you, some players actually play this game because they like DRIVING trucks, not just holding a steering wheel and looking out the window.
You can make the graphics as realistic as possible but it means nothing in a TRUCK SIMULATOR if the driving sucks. I guess you need beautiful scenery to keep your players entertained because there are no hazards to watch out for, like in real life and the truck itself is easier to drive than a 4WD and is impossible to jackknife no matter what you do (I mean a proper jackknife, not have an accident and the truck ends up in a jackknife position).
That'll never happen though, because many have asked for physics since game release and still nothing, what are we getting now? Paintjobs and maps. Cosmetics. Image. Appearance.
There should be Mechanics. Physics. Engineering.
Oh stop your damn whining about the physics for ones.
DeleteNot one fucking time anyone cared about that shit in SCS their first games, and now just because ETS2 has ''Simulator'' in the titel, it's a big fucking deal.
Well fucking boohoo with ''it all has to be realistic'', stick it up your royal asses and just play the god damn game and have some fucking fun with it, since THAT is were a game is and should be about.
SCS should drop the ''Simulator'' part and go back to things like 18 wheels of steel.
+1
Deletephysics really need to be updated. they were a good improvement over ETS1 but we need better physics I think before the game can get better.
they should add some wind effect to physics to, so strong wind blows your trailer around a bit. Trailer size/shape and weight affect forces (lighter trailer is obviously blown around easier and taller/wider surfaces obviously 'catch' more wind). Ok let's be realistic that is probably way too complex to be achieved by SCS but perhaps it could be simplified so that trailer is moved around a bit (if you've never driven a truck + trailer irl, yes the wind does blow it around!)
my biggest gripe is being able to floor a truck bobtailing (no trailer) in the wet and not losing traction. trucks have so much torque when they dont need to pull anything they can easily spin the tires taking off so throttle control is needed as well as counter-steering to straighten out the truck because it will sometimes 'step-out' and start sliding. speaking of sliding, the trucks and trailers never seem to slide even when understeering (which you have to be travelling much faster than the real world to achieve same levels of understeer)
perhaps get the basics right first, ignore my wind request lol
-"Oh stop your damn whining about the physics for ones."
DeleteAsking someone to stop their "damn whining" whilst whining yourself, is quite ironic.
-"Not one fucking time anyone cared about that shit in SCS their first games, and now just because ETS2 has ''Simulator'' in the titel, it's a big fucking deal."
So I suppose even though they put "Euro truck" in the title, you would be satisfied with the game containing Australian built Kenworths? If they did not wish to make it a simulator, they should not have called it one.
-"Well fucking boohoo with ''it all has to be realistic'', stick it up your royal asses and just play the god damn game and have some fucking fun with it, since THAT is were a game is and should be about."
If I wanted to just have fun and drive trucks in an unrealistic manner I would play a game containing playable trucks that is designed, sold and marketed as an arcade game such as GTA V.
-"SCS should drop the ''Simulator'' part and go back to things like 18 wheels of steel."
You should drop the "butthurt" and go back to things that might educate yourself to realise some people attain fun from some games because they are realistic and challenging and not that fun = easy.
"If, tomorrow, SCS tell the press that, like, they want to make the environment more realistic, or the paint to be metallic, nobody panics, because it’s all ‘part of the plan’. But when I say that the physics could do with some improvement, well then everyone loses their minds!"
DeleteRight like locking up the brakes
Deleteor like use the trailers brakes or if u are going to fast on a corner you'll flip over
I would like the trucks to handle more realistically. They handle more like SUVs, I used to drive realistically till I realised you could take corners at +100mph now I just play Smokey and The Bandit style and try and reach my destination as fast as possible. Only way to feel like you're on the 'edge' driving in this game and have a chance of crashing is to drive it like you stole it.
Deletemy biggest 'gripe' is being able to chuck the steering back and forth at speed and watch the trailer swing out at the back, but it's always controllable, in real life it will develop a pendulum like effect as it swings back and forth and it is very easy to over-correct or for the truck to jack-knife or even tip and roll over.
if you can drive along at 100mph+ jerking the steering wheel left and remain in control then you can control anything.
i hate that people must play this game game who've never driven a real truck and thinks trucks are this easy to drive.
It's a simulator, it's not supposed to be realistic!!!11111one
Deletewait.. what?
''Asking someone to stop their "damn whining" whilst whining yourself, is quite ironic.''
DeleteCall it ironic all you want, atleast i made a point.
People like you constantly ramp on about the physics, change after change after change, you guys are never happy with it, and will never be happy with it either.
Gues what, ETS2 is a >GAME<, it will never come close to the real thing, not one ''simulator'' is and can be.
Want realism, ''real physics'', get out of your chair, away from your monitor, step outside the front door, hop in a real truck, and get instant realism.
If your stuck in a chair for whatever reason and am unable to do just that, well sucks for you, or anyone else for that matter, no sympathy, life is what it is and what you make out of it, deal with it.
''So I suppose even though they put "Euro truck" in the title, you would be satisfied with the game containing Australian built Kenworths? If they did not wish to make it a simulator, they should not have called it one.''
You know well anough that i was reffering towards ''physics''.
Ofcourse kenworths in ETS2 wouldnt make sense, eventhough ive seen American branded trucks on the road before.
But as said above, people will never be satisfied about the physics, butchering on about it is all they do.
That aside, remember the older SCS games didnt even have licenced branded real trucks in their games at all?
Nowone cared..., yet the newer generation of games need to be real real real real real real...
Personally ive rather seen the money used for licencing costs and all what comes with it, go to game features, you know, something people want so desperately to.
''If I wanted to just have fun and drive trucks in an unrealistic manner I would play a game containing playable trucks that is designed, sold and marketed as an arcade game such as GTA V.''
Like i said, nowone cared about the ''physics arent real or good'' thing in older games, you bought the game, you started with a truck and played the game for hundreds of hours on a end.
ETS2 or probably even ETS1 to, has constant butchering on about the physics not being realistic from a particulairy small crowd, that is absurdly demanding and vocal about it.
''You should drop the "butthurt" and go back to things that might educate yourself to realise some people attain fun from some games because they are realistic and challenging and not that fun = easy.''
''butthurt''? Idiotic internet terms used by generaly obnoxious vocal people that cant come up with anything else.
Let me make it easy for you to get your next response ready and sett > ''u mad?'', since you've gone this way anyway.
Anyhow, like i said, want realism, get outside.
-"People like you constantly ramp on about the physics, change after change after change, you guys are never happy with it, and will never be happy with it either."
DeleteThere's been one change made to the truck physics. It made the handling less realistic.
-"want realism, get outside."
No, I want realism in a simulator.
P.S.
U mad?
It's game and not a commercional simulator for education and driving licenses. 20 euros vs. +20'000 euros. Not even your gaming rigs does have that amount of resources to simulate it.
DeleteAnd also I guess you guys are not wheel users and don't own the game since realese. I can tell you it has changed a lot in the physics and simulation. Better forcefeedback with engine RPM, power steering, dynamic Fuel Consumption, AI accelerates better, an AI truck with 360 Hp will have more difficult on climbing hills than a 730 Hp, brakes, retarder and many others... Biggest improvement from ETS1 to ETS 2 are the physics. Not the graphics: Objects and Houses are still badly textured and modelled, sharp roads and barriers are more angular than rounded, grass and vegetation are badly textured, hills are also angular and not rounded.
I also would like see the game calculating even those extra weights from adding accessories and more fuel, simulateing the wind for better drafting when you are behind of a truck. Tyres losing grip. over and understeer with the steering wheel forcing to turn and the noise of the tires.
But if think none of the scs developer is a experienced truck driver. So that's really difficult.
We are asking for BETTER physics simulation, not 100% perfect replication of real life.
DeleteHere we see SCS say they are trying to achieve "more impressive and true-to-life environments..."
Well, in the same way, why can't we have more impressive and true-to-life physics?
There's always one imbecile who has to make the utterly retarded suggestion "iff yew wantz itz lyk reel, goez outsyde! derpity derp!"
DeleteYeah, and I suppose people wanting the truck models to be more detailed/accurate should go visit a f**king real life truck dealership, anyone wanting this new Nordic DLC should move to Norway and anyone wanting better graphics should stare out their fucking window like the half-baked potato does that offered you the most stupid, pointless, inane advice on the face of our planet.
You want less grip? You would like to drive a snow rallye? You can have that, albeit without the snow being graphically displayed.
DeleteJust don't repair your wheels any more. At about 20% damage (what a concept for wheels), grip starts degrading noticeably. At above 30-40%, the truck starts drifting. At anything above 60%, the truck becomes nearly uncontrollable, and you'll need the whole width of the street.
Also, with increasing tire wear, there will be wheelspin. Yes, wheelspin. First, only the lower gears will be affected. Later on, you will notice short wheelspinning even in the higher gears.
If you want to play an arcade race game with a truck, this is what you've always been longing for, provided you don't mind the drifting physics to be somewhat strange.
Of course, trailer tires are always in perfect condition and there'll be no drifting there. Hooray.
Just take the damn physics back to how it was in 1.1 or 1.3 or whatever it was. That was good enough.
DeleteAt the moment I'm generally happy about game physics, and when I say game, I mean it. Yes I also hope some spicing up in the game at the moment. Maybe more and proper gravel roads, or some snow conditions. Narrow mountain roads. And that idea above about wind would be really nice. It also seams that adding them optional would be good idea to please growing fan-base. More the fans, more far those opposing eds are.
DeleteOff topic.... In name of all that is holy, what kind of diabolic machine would be Eaton Fuller simulator??
Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey! My guess is that the first 2 photo's are Sweden, and the last 2 photo's are in Norway. How north will you go? Can you show us the map? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNope. In Norway they use yellow stripes.
DeleteWell, not all stripes are yellow, and the very last photo is a fjord.
DeleteWith this going on no wander America truck simulator is put on the side probably release date of american truck simulator is 2050
ReplyDeleteyeh they'll put it on the back burner and make ETS2.5.. oh wait they're doing that now.
DeleteIf you think about America at the marketing zone, and that you have game engine already, you should be insane, not to publish game for American trucking fans. In past years problem have been that when game developers run after new money, they usually forget they old fan-base. So what I hope is that they will develop lots of new things for ATS, and they will implement them also in Europes side.
DeleteHow about idea that when ATS driver takes delivery from corn field to port, it would appear in European port to take it's destination? I also believe that at the moment some sort online elements and multi-player options are strongest reasons to avoid piracy.
Scs what have ye done !
ReplyDeleteGuys There's no point in complaining. Yes we all want what we want and we want it Now. They are delivering just give em time. The evolution of gaming is gona something awesome. GIVE THEM TIME. Godspeed scs from South Africa
new vegatation detail ?
ReplyDeleteplease add new vegatation improvments !
+1
DeleteBEAUTIFUL :D
ReplyDeleteI hope it's a free dlc :)
ReplyDelete:)))
DeleteForget it. Just like with the Going East DLC, you'll have to pay for it. And rightfully so; it's a helluva lot of work and you know, those people at SCS do have bills to pay too. I know there's a part of the fanbase that wants everything, want it NOW and want it FOR FREE, but it's just not going to happen. SCS would go bankrupt if they gave everything away for free, and then people would be bitching and whining that there won't be any new content.
DeleteNice job scs and now the daf xf release !
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a great job SCS. Don't mind those crybabys who always ask for more and are never satisfied. Set a date and i'll wait, name a price and i'll buy it.
ReplyDeleteSH$$P
DeleteNext update is a passenger DLC so you can have someone drive for you and spend more time looking out the window taking pictures.
ReplyDeleteEuro Tourist Simulator
Nice job scs and now the volvo fmx release !
ReplyDeleteATS new info please
ReplyDeleteATS update: Gave up, went back to working on ETS2.
DeleteNo they didn't they still are working on ATS California they have to wait for a while because it takes along time to develop stuff
Delete"it takes a long time to develop stuff"
DeleteYeah, especially if you let a big part of your company work on a dead product...
Instead of working on the Nordic DLC, theycould work on the US map, instead of working on new trucks for ETS, they could work on trucks for ATS...
I don't understand why Scs is still working on ETS, its not like they're going to make a lot of money on it anymore... Sales are not as high as when it just launched and I bet a lot of people are not een playing it anymore, or atleast not playing it as much as they once did.
Besides that, ETS will have to be completly reworked to make it good again. Physics are crap, the environment is the same generic crap everywhere...
Instead of going Nordic, they should've gone American...
I'm with you on that but, they already ready set
DeleteSaid for there new year they were gonna make euro truck simulator 2 the way they really want to make it because they believe that now since there company has grown more they can develop it way more .
When they finish the game they never got done with the map.
Also they said ATS California was going to be made by the other half of there group.
Plus they would be working on California on ATS because that's there first step and im really cool with that because that's were I'm from
DeleteO yea that's a lie were is there progressive work only a couple of pictures and to trucks not like the other half of ets group the doing more for ets why ATS group is not showing their work is pretty Obie's there is no oder group they only working on ets yea you can't think there to groups
DeleteWhat new ATS will bring that you can't get on mods? Now don't get me wrong, I hope that it will be nice enough to buy. But SCS development needs to be something more than just graphics update. It's only way to keep old fans happy and get new ones.
Delete"What new ATS will bring that you cant get on mods?"
DeleteSeriously?
The thing I cannot get on ETS is the USA, that's the entire point of making ATS, smartass!
"more impressive and true-to-life environments..."
ReplyDeletethis environments looks more of the same ...
Environments are important for sure, but more important is what we make ( what we have to do driving a truck ). So, what i am trying to say, once more, is about increase the difficulty level of the destination places, there must be dificulty parking the trucks ( USE WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE IN SCANIA GAME ). Parking the trucks in destination is SO, SO, BORING !!!
Please create new and much more challenging destinations, that will bring new and more motivation . ( my oppinion of course )
Keep up the good work, i´m ready to keep buying your products.
Best regards
JP
I would like to see some places on the map where you HAVE to reverse into a loading yard driveway or down a lane, alleyway etc.
DeleteThat is probably my worst fear as a truck driver, pulling up somewhere that is tight and difficult to maneouvre and has no where to turn around so you either reverse into it or have to reverse out. Reversing is really what starts to show some skills, anyone can drive a truck forward when they can see where they're going.
I liked the maps in STDS too, you actually had to take the perfect line to make some corners. Truck driving is an artform, but SCS seem to want to make it easy so they don't scare people away who can't drive and don't wish to learn.
Damn.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping SCS had enough money to finish ATS California Starter Pack (or whatever the hell they're calling the initial release) but looks like we're gonna see at least one more DLC to scrounge up some money before that.
SCS should try crowd funding, I think alot of the community would be willing to do that.
Dear people; it is a fact that when someone is taking longer to make something, the results will ALWAYS be better than that person is pushed and set under pressure, with as result the work will look terrible and useless (!)
ReplyDeleteWhether it be a game developer, or a car manufacturer, it everywhere the same (!)
Not if they spend that extended time putting in details you will never see unless you drive looking out your side window all day.
DeleteDon't bother, Tim. It's useless.
DeleteLet's say SCS has two options: release a high quality DLC in four months and charge $19.95 for it, or release a mediocre quality DLC next month and charge $9.95 for it.
If SCS goes for option 1, the crybabies will bitch and whine about the time frame and the price. If SCS goes for option 2, the crybabies will bitch and whine about the mediocre quality, and then bitch and whine that SCS should have taken more time for it (without the higher price, of course).
It's the same with comments I've seen elsewhere, about how SCS decided on a Nordic map, and earlier with Going East: no matter in which direction SCS extends the map, there will always be people whining they should have gone in a different direction (like, for example, west instead of north).
Some people just can't be pleased... :-(
it's a good idea to ad Nordics map because in first time it's beautiful , in second time we can drive on this new roads and finally i think it's to interesting to look lakes, cities..
ReplyDeleteduring the night
It would be better getting updates/DLC that didnt feature things that are already available in mods.
Deleteja naprzykład wolę jak SCS SOFTWARE doda mapę, niż grać na modach, a dużo jest takich ludzi co nie grają na modach i czekają na SCS SOFTWARE
DeleteWHEN? Can't wait!
ReplyDeletei can't wait ATS.. Please give us info of game release.
ReplyDeleteI don't think ETS2 has ever showed shadows in the mirrors.
DeleteIt's done on purpose to increase performance, I believe.
AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULTOR release date is in 2050 in if SCS stop working on the game of last year they can't finish ATS on 2015
DeleteFxxK YOU
DeleteWho cares about Amirican truck simalator? I'm not going to buy that anyway. I only like ETS2. Let them release that amirican crap in 2050 then. For now I hope they focus all their energy on improving ETS2 with a Going North DLC and more trucks etc.
DeleteF**k you end your cab overs end your Barney end Barbie's paint jobs
DeletePersonally I'd rather you did it well if your going to do it, so I support you taking your time with all of this :) It looks great.
ReplyDeleteNice work. Noticed one thing that in interior view of the volvo, the side rear view mirrors do not show the shadow of the vehicle (truck+trailer). When are you planning to tweak that. Your earlier DLCs have the same problem.
ReplyDeleteHowever the upcoming map update looks interesting, and will support you guys till future lasts.
I don't think ETS2 has ever showed shadows in the mirrors.
DeleteIt's done on purpose to increase performance, I believe.
I was hoping to see France, Italy and Spain ... shame. However, your work always amazes me for its perfection, so I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tiegerchen4ever.
ReplyDeleteAs Player of the Train Simulator from DTG I know, how you should NOT work, because the guys from DTG spend most of their time for marketing and we, the customers, have to live with a lot of bugs and problems.
Updates? From DTG? xD
But you guys are working hard for the ETS, that becomes two years old in October! Update, new truck, update, map expansion and update again... Great!
go on like that! Always keep pushing ;)
Great work scs !!!
ReplyDeleteHello, Good afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you already have some planned to launch that change will bring us the possibility to adjust the camera from inside the truck date.
I am purchaser of Euro Truck Simulator 2 for the Steam Store!
Thanks for listening, grill hug!
Hello, Good afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you already have some planned to launch that change will bring us the possibility to adjust the camera from inside the truck date.
I am purchaser of Euro Truck Simulator 2 for the Steam Store!
Thanks for listening, grill hug!
I was hoping the next expansion pack would give me some driving challenges like major snow and ice similar to Ice Road Truckers or major mud / bogs & dirt trails like on Outback Truckers... maybe some tight narrow cliff paths like from your Scania Driving game etc etc I need driving challenges please! :D
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!
ReplyDeleteCheers from China x)
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteSCS, please do NOT listen to the "vocal part". In fact, call it how it is - it's a vocal MINORITY. Hundreds of thousands of your fans appreciate your ambitions and the quality of your work, please don't ever let the few whiners get under your skin :)
I was about to write "please more ATS news how licensing with brands going on? etc" but i guess you dont read stuff here..us people who want ATS news is not big news..just little update status on whats going on that takes a few mins..
ReplyDeleteCooooooooooooooool!!!! Now I can drive in Nordic countries! Oh wait, mods already did that.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!! :D We sure need some snow! :) Keep it up, SCS!
ReplyDeleteI see no evidence that snow will be included O.o
DeleteOn the plus side, ETS2 maps always look the same, so in a way this Nordic DLC is already finished :D
ReplyDeletePlease add MAN TGA !!!
ReplyDeleteSCS is it Norway?
ReplyDeleteSince when does SCS make maps where you can tell what country it is (Apart from USA).
DeleteScs what have ye done !
ReplyDeleteGuys There's no point in complaining. Yes we all want what we want and we want it Now. They are delivering just give em time. The evolution of gaming is gona something awesome. GIVE THEM TIME. Godspeed scs from Iceland
I don't wanna sound like some sort of whiner or anything, but I've got a few suggestions.
ReplyDelete1. Varied road appearances - The roads look too similar. The intersections, highway exits, cities, everything. Because of this, I can't tell whether I'm in Berlin or Paris.
2. New trucks - We've seen videos of your truck sounds recording, and I'm very excited for your new trucks. I'm not frustrated yet, but if you keep the community waiting for too long, I'm pretty sure they'll get very frustrated. The MAN TGX E6 would be nice, but I don't think it's gonna be in ETS2 since you didn't record sounds for it :) .
I understand this all takes time, but I'll be willing to wait, but not too long :) .
+1 True the roads are the same
Deleteindeed ... to much copy-paste.
Deletewe need diversity. Europe is full of it.
Has anyone ever tried making a to-scale map? I mean, where distances are true to the real time spent, not the in-game scale? Of course this wouldn't be consistent with in-game time and fuel consumption, but wouldn't it be nice to actually need a few real hours from your start to your destination? Also, one would have to straighten out these ridiculously tight highway curves.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you! :)
DeleteHave been wondering that too, a bit like train or flight simulator, which use real time.
And those highway corners... :(
I suppose SCS tries a compromise between arcade and simulation, but with the basis of fans now conquered, time to move to a more realistic environment?
Just to add: for what I've read seems that the Hungarian map uses more real distances and time (I didn't tried it yet).
DeleteScs needs money from the dlc of ets2 to go forward with ATS thats the reason for all the focus on ets2 and it will be that way until they feel like they have made enough money. Scs does not care about you or me they care about Money.
ReplyDelete"Scs does not care about you or me they care about Money."
DeleteIf they cared so much about money they would release everything really fast full of bugs and crappy graphics like Dove Tail Games does with Train Simulator. It's obvious that SCS needs money to stay in business but they care more about their product than most software gaming businesses I know. Developing a good product takes time, it seems that many people don't understand this basic fact.
SCS doesn't care about money. They need more money to get more employees to make DLCs and other stuff. Like in the post it said "there are hundreds of thousands of players out there who always want more, and as fast as possible." Therefore, they need more money to produce more DLC and other content.
DeleteMore people would make development faster, but the quality would still be great.
DeleteTotally agree @Birdhouseman. Their level of detail vs the detail in mods (for trucks n maps especially) shows that they are very keen on quality as they say.
DeleteThat level of awesomeness has to take time
Cool pictures SCS, can't wait to see the next (possible) DLC! The SCS game quality is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI hope this is an optional DLC between ProMods and SCS Software or Im screwed.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward your new version of DAF and Benz, i can't wait any more
ReplyDeleteWill double trailers be included too ?
ReplyDeletebuy trailers
ReplyDeleteNew features in the game (seat adjustment, etc.)
ReplyDeleteUpgrade accessories cab driver (Navigator addition to the window, shutters )

If the SCS hire the fans who make mods like Promods eg among others by al ... guess not need pay them, make mods for free for all down, then up still has people crying, staff time also, the SCS is improving a lot, as well as modelers make a clear new mod that always change what was already good, it is good that take it, at least what is to come should be perfect and not buggy work. The game itself the right to play, just download mods that have excellent around and wait.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid they will just use Promods Scandinavia map, just adjust it a bit and that's it...
ReplyDeleteLooks good SCS guys , but how will work with Promod's guys mod arleady released and letting us drive in nothern countries? , i will buy it if there really new things and not just some thousands of kilometers of road to drive , that we already know!
ReplyDeleteRELEASE TWO PROMISED NEW TRUCKS AT LAST NICER TO BEWAITING FOR THE DLC. YOU PROMISED THAT THE TRUCKS WILL BE COMING OUT IN PATCHES SO THERE IS NO REASON TO WAIT . . . AND DON`T FORGET ABOUT CAM BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL TOO
ReplyDeletehey relax they got until 2015
DeleteWith all that vitriol from your customers, SCS might as well give up.
ReplyDeleteOr sell incomplete products for US$40/£24.99! DoveTail Games does this to massive success and has double the number of "likes" on Facebook!
End of sarcasm.
For me there's already enough content. I bought the game early and still haven't explored the map, because I'm hunting for xp. I would love to see the whole map on daylight while doing deliverys, but it would take too much time. I still bought Going East DLC and will buy this when it goes on sale. There are also some trucks I haven't bought or driven yet. I don't care about paint jobs, but other modifications are welcome.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm mostly looking for in ETS2 and SCS self-made game engine development is the variety, stability and performance. If someone has played FUEL, it has massive map and content, but it is so boring because there's no variety.
The game engine is good overall. In one blog post it was said it is memory-hungry. But I think it's something that should not be spent time on as ram and video ram is going bigger and bigger all the time. 4k screens are coming and they use a lot of memory, but most people don't have the processing power to play at that resolution anyways. The time most people have enough power to play at 4k there will also be enough video memory and ram.
I don't know if this is because of game engine or the game itself, but fps is impossibly hard to get stable. I can make it so that absolute minimum fps is 25 but then it can go up to 60 sometimes. Testing the settings is also hard as there's no benchmark mode or any other way to replicate the same situation after changing settings.
If ETS2 ever expands to Sweden, there must be different combinations of trucks.
When I "finish" this game, I will start playing with ProMods.
ACHIEVEMENTS!
ReplyDeleteFirst thing first. Take your time to make it good. I can loose my money so many unfinished games while I wait it so it dosn't matter. ;)
ReplyDeleteSecond. It looks so stunning, but pleace give some good reasons to roll old maps and roads too, give maybe some new weather and road conditions, or double trailers that are essense of trucking in north europe.
I think it'll pay to work with the Multiplayer Mod guy as that is clearly where this gaming is headed.
ReplyDeletePersonally, the only thing that's keeping me in single player mode is the mods, which is funny coz I've never played SP ever since I started MP
It's impossible to make a game with which 100% of its players are absolutely satisfied. All you can do is to make it better and better. Besides, there're tons of mods after all, and many of them have quite good quality.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's important to optimize the performance when more and more contents are added to the game.
Waiting for your new map expansion DLC and greetings from China!!!
by lhgtony
Hi!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures! Do we get double and drawbar trailers also? Those are typical vehicles in the nordic area...
Greetings from Hungary
Tibor
SCS if you want money why not focused on AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR only and then if you want in proof ets make euro truck simulator 3 this is the way to make money
ReplyDeletemaybe they want fans of truck sim games then money that is a no brainer
Deletewhy is the windscreen never dirty???
ReplyDeleteFinally better graphics. My gtx 670 is waiting ... ;)
ReplyDeleteKeep on working scs team ! Take ur time. Don't listen to the idiots here.
It's done when it's done...
Respect for your work !!
LOL old card
Deletehow is that for f**k sake a old card? -.-
DeleteI even run a GTX680+ 4GB and run all new games perfectly on highest/ultra settings (Yep, even Watch_Dogs :P )
My poor GTX 650ti is already stressed now T_T
DeleteYeah... and i have the elephant on the gold chain, and so what ? Buy yourself another two and eat with ketchup ...
DeletePlease take your time SCS. I know it's gonna be awesome as always.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you know what would be even cooler regarding Scandinavia? Something like this:
http://www.logisticsbusiness.com/images/0692_1.jpg
http://www.transportoversize.eu/files/LHV%20maersk.jpg
With expansion to Scandinavia you should definitely add the common 25 metre Scandinavian combi truck + trailer! That would be great :)
ReplyDeleteSomething like this is the standard road train on Swedish roads: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAGEHTAn79I
DeleteSCS ware is the interior seat position for ets2
ReplyDeleteDo you include Norway? So far, I've only seen Sweden, Finland or Denmark. Norwegian roads use yellow stripes.
ReplyDeleteThe last picture looks a lot like Norway, with a long fjord-like thing, but as you say Norwegian roads use orange lines in the middle and that's too big of a detail for SCS to have missed.
DeleteFor all we know its work in progress. I wouldn't loose hope over the lines.
DeleteIf were is really an addition of motion blur in the real gameplay....then it wud be really the best visual thing from this game, according to me... the grass foliage environment etc met lot of improvement thus far undoubtedly... but lack of motion blur fails to make this all look 'real'... for example, this single thing made Gran Turismo 5 considerably better...
ReplyDeletePavel shut this place off!!! Do like the majority of the other Games Companies and don't update any news to the community. That's what most of the people here deserve and SCS team don't need this. The true fans are here since the Hard Truck days and will be here.. forever!
ReplyDeleteYeap, you were the guy that thought that ETS1 was the best game EVER, and banned from your stupid forum anybody that dare to point the bugs (there were more bugs than content in that "game). See that you still not get a life (or a girl friend)... some things never change!
DeleteIdentify yourself child, I don't remind banning any anonymous ever. Go back to the playground...
DeleteLOL, soh me identifico ah Policia ;)
DeleteLooking good just take your time i buy everything you release regardless even if i don't like it or use it i still buy it great work guys keep on truckin
ReplyDeleteSCS ---- BRAZIL
ReplyDeleteA equipe de programação do jogo estão trabalhando muitos caminhões ou novos recursos de jogo? Ou Animação do jogo.
Way too unrealistic bloom in most pictures. Other than that ok.
ReplyDeleteAmazing Landscape!
ReplyDeleteAs usual great job guys. Images look great, looking forward to the next DLC
ReplyDeletethe last picture looks alot like fedafjorden on E39 in south west norway
ReplyDeleteYes it is :) , i searched on wikipedia
DeleteHoly cow! It is! :) For anyone too lazy/not know where to find the fjord: here it is on Google Streetview:
Deletehttps://www.google.com/maps/@58.262157,6.843872,3a,90y,206.1h,76.1t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1skrWNibHNQuSu-T7ciP3u_g!2e0
hands money to ScS, taps foot, dlc done yet ?
ReplyDeleteHate to be the negative here, but why do this? ProMods already have an excellent map mod for that area.
ReplyDeleteHopefully early pics as they did not make yellow center line, if indeed that is Norway. And tunnels just look wrong. Tunnels do not look like that here at all.
totally agree, but I dont find all the promods city in norway correct, and I would strongly recommend that the wide of the road will be smaller, I feel like driving on a highway on the country side, and have no difficults with driving there. they should also add stops so if too cars meet one of them have too stop and let the other one pass, like in real!
DeleteI buy this game for multiplayer
ReplyDeleteGreat hope for a double trailer.
ReplyDeletesame too :))
DeleteWe need more pedestrians in the streets and in the small villages. They look like Ghost Towns and thats really unrealistic.Everything other than that is awesome.
ReplyDeletewhy is the windscreen never dirty
ReplyDeleteSame reason the truck itself, or anything else in the game doesn't accumulate dirt.
Deleteit cant be so difficult to add this in the game? nobody notice this.or talk about it.maybe its not so interesting
Deletehttp://www.skogforsk.se/upload/54094/6440a.jpg
ReplyDeletefor a super realistic dirty windscreen effect, lightly spray your monitor screen with water (or beer) and then gently blow some cocoa powder onto the screen, or use flour if you want a snow effect. works a treat... lol.
ReplyDeleteWorks fine, thanks, but for super duper cool realistic nordic effect, take your laptop to one of those big fridges and play there for an hour or two. It's literally cool effect. Although you can eat anything you find around you during gameplay, ice cream works best. If you're ironical hipster, you should sing ETS2 official song "Hot like summer sun."
Delete^ :D :D
DeleteSHOW AMERICAN TRUCK SIM!!
ReplyDeleteATS is coming out soon in 2050 euro truck arcade is on the spot light they don't care for ATS right now
Delete2050 ?? you mean 2100 !!
DeleteCould you do a Balkan with Serbia,Bosnia.....Great work by the way
ReplyDeleteIs this free? but the ProMods map is 1/1 and free.
ReplyDeleteI think that its not going to be free, but the SCS scandinavia may have more cities to explore.
DeleteHello, I think that you should do more cities than ProMods ;)
ReplyDeleteFor sure , i would like to see the map double in size then DLC Going East :D with more then 30 cities
Deletecan you please do something with ai car lights at night, they are too dark
ReplyDeleteThey cant be finished 3 new TRUCK! Thay're only talk.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the NEW DAF ?
Where is the NEW Mercedes?!
Where another Truck ??
Sound recorded finished but trucks model maybe not finished :)) ( maybe they're cant be modelling. )
In you guys, we trust :)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!
What happened to new volvo fh:s sunshield and mirrors?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWhy are SCS venturing into a part of the map that has been more than comprehensively covered by ProMods?
ReplyDeleteWhy not Italy?
Why not Ireland?
Why are they venturing into a part of the map that ProMods have created 26 cities for, with a further 9 completed for release and an additional 15 planned or in progress?
Why?
Well, every country in EU is already modded, but SCS makes it a way better.
DeleteFinally we can get a original made expansion for the nordic ! I am relly patient, take your time! And i will look forward to buy the new expansion with the Nordic ! GOOD JOB scs as allways :)
ReplyDeleteATS California we the fans want more screenshots of the game
ReplyDeleteFans you well never believe this the new daf is coming go on SCS twitter
