Renault Trucks T High Evolution Signed Artwork Giveaway

As we mentioned in our recent live stream, we have prepared an exclusive and unique giveaway for our #BestCommunityEver. Annie is giving the final touch to her design of the Renault Trucks T Evolution carrying that butterfly paint job she painted on a live stream a few months ago, and we have decided that once everything will be finished, we will host a giveaway for a number of prints.

To be precise, we have 5 copies of this artwork, we'll get them signed by as many SCS people as possible, and then we will give away 3 of these limited edition artwork posters to the community (1 will stay in the office, 1 will be sent over to our friends over at Renault Trucks headquarters in Lyon, France).

To participate, you will have to hop in the Renault Truck T High Evolution vehicles in ETS2 and take a screenshot of your mighty trucks at some of your favorite scenic locations. Then, share it across Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, under the hashtag #RenaultTrucksEvolution with tagging our and Renault Trucks' (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) social media profiles.

After two weeks we will pick the 3 winners whose screenshots stole our hearts the most and ship these exceptional artwork posters to their addresses. Good luck!

Wyoming Community Spotlight

With the recent release of Wyoming for American Truck Simulator, we have been flooded with various feedback coming from all over the world and all kinds of platforms.

Today, we’ll present to you some of this feedback, starting with the opinions of some of our favorite content creators, who have been busier than ever, recording and streaming their journeys in this new state. We truly appreciate these creators telling us about their experience and we’re excited to share with you what they had to say about the latest map expansion!

"Wyoming is packed with detail and surprises in every town. The first thing I noticed about the new map is the large area in the northwest corner, there was no city or delivery points. The map team built this huge area just to explore Yellowstone. They did not have to put a purely recreational section on the map but they did it anyway, and it's beautiful! While driving between cities, there is detail in the distance and close by to make every drive feel like there is something new. The landmarks and places of interest in cities and even truck stops are just like they are in real life! They really captured the atmosphere of Wyoming." - Ryastream

"WOW, just WOW *stares out the window* OKAY! It’s time to keep your eyes on the road! With plenty of roads to explore, you’ll definitely see lots of different terrains and scenery that Wyoming has to offer. There is plenty to do here too, from visiting landmarks, cities, viewpoints and cattle farms, and much more! After traveling around for 10 hours or so, I feel like there is still much more out there to find, including working on those new achievements. SCS Software has done a fantastic job with this DLC and the attention to detail is fantastic." - Jenko90_

"Fancy exploring a new state in American Truck Simulator? Wyoming has countless awe-inspiring natural wonders. Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Bighorn National Parks will leave you staggered. Devils Tower, Hell’s Half Acre, and Flaming Gorge Dam are some of the coolest landmarks I have ever seen in ATS. The DLC is abundant in small challenging roads, including a thrilling under-construction road in US-287; along with numerous state-of-the-art company depots. I highly recommend this DLC to all the ATS players; I can assure you that you will not regret it." - A. P. 101 Gaming

"Let’s just start off by saying that Wyoming was way more enjoyable than I expected. I have not personally been there but there are those who said that the map was “Spot on”. I had a wonderful time driving through the mountains and open terrains. The details of textures are amazing and it has a realistic feel to it. There are plenty of rest stops and most come with a beautiful view. I plan on opening every viewpoint because the one near the Devil’s Tower absolutely blew me away. THANK YOU for adding Livestock! Being a country girl, this was a great addition." - ThatGirlNisha

"The moment I crossed the Wyoming border, I immediately started noticing the little details SCS put in, and as an outsider being able to catch all these things, that is saying a lot. It truly is a fully immersive experience. Even my community members who are locals of Wyoming are impressed by the accuracy of the new areas. Great job SCS. Thank you for pouring so much hard work into this DLC. It definitely shows!" - The Clumsy Geek

"From state to state, I am amazed at the quality and quantity of work that the mapper teams do. In a frankly small area, everything that is in the real state of Wyoming was recreated. Each region of the state has its own climate, its own vegetation, and its own "places of power". In the south, the climate is arid, there are not many plants and grass, especially noticeable on the border with the state of Utah. Majestic mountains, wide plains, vast agricultural land... Pure nature. And don't be afraid of the Bison, they are cute." - TheAlive55

"The Wyoming DLC is really, really nice. I am always surprised by how great the developers from SCS Software can create landscapes. The attention to the details, even in this map expansion, is absolutely breathtaking!" - Chris Maximus

But our #BestCommunityEver consists of many more other members. Our social media channels have been filled to the brim with photos & videos from your first journey in this new state. We love looking through them during the workday and we even share them with each other across our internal channels. You can continue to send us your screenshots and videos from Wyoming on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #ThatsWY.

We have also received an overwhelming amount of positive reviews on our Steam Page. To everyone who takes the time to write reviews and give constructive criticism about Wyoming, thank you! Here are just a few of our favorites! If you would like to leave a review, be sure to do so at the Wyoming Steam Store Page.

However, Wyoming hasn't just gotten attention in the form of community-created content, but also from official press coverage, such as this fantastic review article from PCInvasion. We highly recommend giving them a read if you are still unsure if Wyoming is worth the trip in American Truck Simulator.

We are extremely grateful for the general feedback and we appreciate the support of the #BestCommunityEver. Our developers are always doing their best to transform their passion into game design, and it is truly encouraging to read this type of feedback. Thank you all very much!

Lyon Reskin

We are always excited to show our community what changes and updates we are working on in our upcoming updates. Today we want to focus on one of the more noticeable changes drivers can expect to see when driving through the Euro Truck Simulator 2 world.

The city of Lyon is the third-largest city in France after Paris and Marseille and is an important hub for transportation and logistics across the country. Today we are happy to share with you that Lyon will be receiving a major reskin, giving it a fresh and up-to-date look. So what exactly has been changed? Let's take a closer look!

As you can see from these comparison shots, a lot has changed! In fact, a majority of the city layout has been reworked to make it more realistic and true to life. Previously, drivers would use junctions and bridges that were not suitable for heavy trucks, we have now updated these areas to include the routes that truckers actually use to enter and exit Lyon and its surrounding industrial areas.

To make this possible, we added 4 new junctions, two of which lead to areas where drivers can load and unload from local industries.  We have also added 3 new Landmarks, the Viaduc de Perrache, the Musée des Confluences, and the Groupama Stadium, along with giving our older Landmarks already present around Lyon a facelift.

Many of the older vegetation models such as trees and wildflowers have been replaced with newer ones, which gives the city a completely new look in terms of natural beauty. Road signs and roads, in general, have also been updated with more accurate, realistic, and detailed textures. While many of the major changes are quite obvious, we will leave it up to you to explore Lyon for yourself to spot them all!

We look forward to sharing more with you about what we are working on for future updates! Watch this space and keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest news and announcements.

Heart of Russia - Villages

Whenever there’s a mention of architecture in Russia, our minds instantly produce images of great cities, such as Moscow or St. Petersburg. However, there’s much more to it than that. You have to peek behind the curtains and look beyond all of this in order to see the details, which in the end creates a compact and unforgettable experience. One of those details is without a doubt the local villages which you will be able to see in the upcoming Heart of Russia DLC.

The charm of Russian villages is based on historical architecture and a disproportional system of streets surrounded by different styles of structures. While some of these buildings have completely moved on from the classical izba style over the years, you can still witness numerous modern examples of these typical countryside dwellings while passing by. You may also appreciate one of their special features - colorful patterns on the outside walls.

Furthermore, while most of the structures have managed to withstand the hands of time to this day, there are some which were not so fortunate and started to progressively crumble. Yet even ruins and aged buildings can sometimes prove to be an addition to the general beauty of certain places.

This is only a fraction of what is to come with the Heart of Russia update and you can look forward to more information in the future. For now, make sure to add the upcoming map expansion to your Steam Wishlist and you will be able to always stay in touch with the latest news!

Wyoming Release

The big day is here! Preparations to release Wyoming for American Truck Simulator are in top gear. We are also preparing for a special release stream with special guests. So what time is Wyoming releasing?

Wyoming DLC for American Truck Simulator has been released!

So what exactly does our Wyoming DLC have to offer for truckers? These are just a few of the things we think you will love:
  • Deliver to and from 10 cities and discover 14 settlements
  • Discover and deliver to Wyoming's important industries like coal & soda ash, farms & agriculture, railyards, and more!
  • Haul livestock cargo to our new cattle auction houses
  • Drive on the Highway to Heaven.
  • Haul cargo on the I-80, the second-longest Interstate highway in the United States
  • See wildlife unique to Wyoming including Bison
  • Visit landmarks like Devils Tower National Monument and part of the Yellowstone National Park and get bird's-eye views with many new viewpoints.
  • Admire accurate representations of cities like Cheyenne, Casper, Jackson, Sheridan, and more!
  • Visit and take a rest at famous Wyoming rest stops & gas stations.
  • Unlock Wyoming-specific Steam Achievements
...and much more!

We will also have a World of Trucks event available for all new visitors to Wyoming, with unique rewards to be earned as you visit all 10 cities and deliver jobs. Learn more about the rules in yesterday's blog post and take part in #CruisingWyoming at WorldofTrucks.com. We'd love to see your photos across our Social Media channels using the hashtag!

We expect to have this event available to players for an extended period of time, probably way beyond the point of reaching the community goal. We don't want to motivate you to rush through the DLC in a hurry to make sure you manage to obtain the personal achievement. We simply want to reward early adopters of the DLC for spending quality time with the new content.

Speaking of rewards, all truckers in Wyoming are eligible to receive a special cabin accessory, a Triceratops plush toy! To earn this unique reward, simply take any External Contract or External Market job to or from the city of Gillette. Why this city specifically you may ask? Believe it or not, paleontologists digging in northeastern Wyoming (so near Gillette) have uncovered fossilized remains of three triceratopses - possibly the most complete specimens of the dinosaurs yet found! So be sure to claim your part of prehistoric history for your cabin.

This special reward originally mentioned in the paragraph above is no longer available as it has been concluded on Sunday, May 29 2022, 23:59 UTC.

We will also be hosting a special Wyoming release live stream across official Steam & Twitch channels starting at 16:00 CEST. Don't miss out on this broadcast as we talk with Davido (DLC Lead) PLUS a special guest appearance from Pavel Šebor CEO of SCS Software! We will be answering questions from the community, talking in-depth about the DLC, giving away free Wyoming Steam keys and of course, releasing the highly anticipated map expansion LIVE on stream!

We hope you'll enjoy exploring what Wyoming has to offer! We will see you on the roads.

Cruising Wyoming Event

Help us celebrate tomorrow, September 7th, as we release our new Wyoming DLC, by taking part in our latest World Of Trucks event - Cruising Wyoming! Journey through this dynamic and awe-inspiring state of wild beauty, dominated by the Rocky Mountain rangelands and High Plains, while contributing to its rich economy.

We are asking our #BestCommunityEver to achieve the community goal of driving 80,000,000 miles (128,747,520 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Wyoming.

While you are #CrusingWyoming, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in some of its key industries, transporting cargoes such as livestock and agriculture products, as well as materials that support the rail, mineral, mining, and chemical industries. Wyoming also offers plenty of new viewing platforms, designed with bespoke cinematic cutscenes, highlighting the attractions of that area. Some of these are:

  • Big Horn National Forest, the Bighorn Mountains are a sister range of the Rocky Mountains.
  • Grand Teton National Park, described as Mountains of the Imagination.
  • Devils Tower, standing nearly 900 feet tall, is a popular tourist and climbing attraction.
  • Hell's Half Acre, a geologic curiosity composed of deep ravines, caves, rock formations, and eroded earth.

And, once again, you can use your own trailer during all of this in the external market!

Wyoming DLC has 10 terrific new cities to visit, and we are offering a special reward for completing your personal goal, which will require you to deliver a job to or from each of them. All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more and don't forget to check out the rules.

Wyoming, The Equality State, is our latest addition to American Truck Simulator. Know that as you fuel up and prepare for this new adventure, we'll be right there with you in spirit. We're really looking forward to learning about your journeys in this amazingly wild, diverse, and beautiful state.

Rules

Using External Contracts or the External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to drive 80,000,000 miles (128,747,520 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Wyoming.

When a player completes delivery to or from each of the 10 Wyoming cities, they will achieve their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 100 miles each (161 km), or more.

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards:

Personal goal:
Players that deliver cargo to or from each of the 10 Wyoming cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a beautiful Wyoming Bison-themed ATS truck paint job Steam inventory item.

Community goal: When the community goal of driving 80,000,000 miles (128,747,520 km) during deliveries to or from any of the 10 cities in Wyoming is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a hanging Jade Bison ornament Steam inventory item.

The event will be concluded on Sunday the 7th of November at 23:59 UTC.

We're counting on hearing back from you about your exploratory journeys through Wyoming, it's so incredibly diverse, and we are looking forward to seeing more of your photos as you cruise through this beautiful new map area! Share your screenshots and videos with us using the hashtag #CruisingWyoming on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram profiles and we will share our favorite ones (we may even feature some of them in a future blog post!).

Big in Wyoming + Yellowstone

One of the nicknames that we have yet to mention when talking about the state that will be arriving in the upcoming map expansion is "Big Wyoming". While Wyoming has earned this nickname due to its 10th largest area by landmass out of all 50 states, today we will do our best to make fans of this particular nickname proud in our own way and share with you some BIG news regarding the new DLC.

What could possibly be so big to justify us writing such an introduction? First of all, with the release of the new map expansion, new content is coming to the Special Transport DLC as well! With the intention of enhancing your experience as much as possible, our team managed to find the time to bring these three Special Transport routes to Wyoming that you can look forward to conquering:

Riverton to Jackson (Yellowstone)
Laramie to Rawlins
Casper to Gillette

Secondly, perhaps it's time to admit to some "heavy conversation" we had internally over an aspect of the DLC. With a somewhat heavy heart, originally we had not planned to include the Yellowstone National Park, as it's not open to trucks for through traffic. But as the release got closer, we have started receiving more and more input from the fan community suggesting that we should reconsider. Eventually, we decided that we should add an extra couple of weeks of production time and figure out a way for players to access the region. You may have noticed a small "confirmation" on our message board for all the speculations on the inclusion of Yellowstone as posted here.

In the real world, semi-trucks are prohibited from passing through the national park, the region is protected from heavy traffic. But surely, there may be valid reasons for specific cargo to get in or out of the park when needed, possibly with a special permit issued by an appropriate local government agency. So while our in-game navigation should never route you through the park on long-haul jobs, we decided that with a bit of an artistic license we can deliver specific cargoes in or out of Yellowstone.

In the initial implementation, we are going to cover only a part of the national park, though it's quite likely that eventually, we may look into extending at least Road 89 towards Montana when the time is right. For players who want to explore Yellowstone, you may take advantage of one of the Special Transport options, where the regional authority will task you with delivering a large helicopter of the type used to fight wildfires.

Hopefully, you’ve already seen our official announcement of the release date for Wyoming DLC. If by any chance you’ve missed it, you can visit the blog post which also features an absolutely marvelous video trailer, and don’t forget to add Wyoming to your Steam wishlist once you check it all out!
