Road signs in various countries
We are finally populating the ETS2 world with road signs. This is a huge task, with the size of the world we expect to spend several weeks just on placing the signs, not to speak about creating them first and play testing them before release.

Great screens scs! But I saw a little mistake in picture 6. The highway number must be blue and not red, because this picture was taken in Osnabrück in Germany and the highway numbers are only blue! Please change that.

ReplyDeletepicture number 6 is in germany. On the signs you can "see" Centrum Osnabrück and the highway A7 to Bremen and Hamburg
Picture 6 is in Groningen, Netherlands on the A7 to Germany (Bremen, Hamburg)
ReplyDeletePictures 7 and 8 are pictures from Germany.
7 is a road in north germany and 8 is the A10 near Berlin.
Have to say I'm impressed with the screenshots, the world looks very much more realistic than in previous games.

ReplyDeleteFor the German cities, you should write "Zentrum" instead of "Centrum".
ok, that could be true, its maybe in groningen in the netherlands, than the highway have the right color in red. :D

picture 6 has taken in the Neterlands (A7, Groningen) and is at the border of Osnabrück, Germany. all highway numbers are red and rectangular. in germany they are blue and they have a another figure.

Great job SCS. Little details like signs do matter a lot in the end. And by the way the 6th and 8th pictures from the top are so beautiful. I know that you guys are getting close to finsihing the game because the graphics look much more complete than a few months ago. Very nice work. Please be sure these signs are as accurate as the can possibly be.

ReplyDeleteSCS, your effort is outstanding. I think everyone, who tried to seed world with lots of navigation signs while making map for your games, knows that this is kind of work which can easily damage brain. Correcting mistakes again and again... :-D
ReplyDeleteI love the way how you follow conventions of every country - i.e., in Czech Republic or Italy, there are destinations written in capital letters, while in Germany only first letter is capital. Just as in real life. I love that there are distances in meters to next highway exit. Just as in real life. I love every single detail of it.
Oh, and I noticed some new and well-done buildings, especially on sixth screenshot. It seems that Germany undergo very nice improvements since GTS. Good job!

Those signs look great, but you should fix that intersection in the fifth picture. The road markings at the exit lanes are wrong in every game you have made since ETS.

Parece que este jogo vai mesmo ficar muito bom. Perto do perfeito. Ainda mais agora que vocês querem deixar a física mais realista.

Pelo que vejo os carros agora estão fazendo certas curvas que não faziam em seus jogos anteriores.
Pelos nomes que aparecem na cinalização, o mapa deve ser imenso, bem grande como sempre sonhei para Euro Truck Simulator.
O grande mistério agora é saber se o jogo vai ter uma história, um objetivo elaborado. Coisa do tipo.
Desculpem pelo portugês, estou com preguiça de ter que usar o Google Tradutor e ter que corrigir os erros que ele comete.
Muito obrigado SCS Sofware pelo ótimo trabalho.
Não tenham pressa se quiserem fazer algo mais que melhore o jogo. Nós fãns aberemos esperar para termos todos um jogo próximo a realidade, assim como Gran Turismo ou Forza MotorSport, que levaram anos para serem concluídos.

ReplyDeleteyou should have with Norway in the map, but now it is well too late. You begin well to finish the game, but if there is a chance to back Norway to join the map is I really love. this is gonna be the nicest simulator ever !!!!

I've notice two mistake :
In the fifth screen : In france, signs in national roads are green and not blue, so the signs in N104 should be green (except the exit to the motorway A6 to Paris should stay blue), The exit in the A6 to Reims and Metz by the N104 should be green.
In the sixth screen : As Jumpie says, even you have confused Osnabrück and Groningen or the sign is false cause the sign are in Dutch-style cause Osnabrück is in Germany
I hope you will correct these few mistakes.

The highway number(s) must be between the arrows not above them - of course it isn't a big problem but it would be nice if you could change it :)

Jupie it looks like either they got the town mixed up or the Centrum written wrong (pic 6)as Osnabruck is nowhere near the border of Holland .
ReplyDeleteGuys, the 6th picture is just taken in the Netherlands. It's the A7 near Groningen. In ETS 2 there is a highway from Groningen to Osnabrück. That's the reason of showing Osnabrück on the signs with 'centrum' what refers to Groningen
ReplyDeleteSCS, don't let the overflow of negative comments affect you. If there is an issue, correct it. But regardless of that, people are always going to have something to complain about, whether it's 2011 or 2111. There will never be a perfect game in the eyes of the nasty public.

ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to see that great care is taken to make the map as life-like as possible, not to mention the large overhaul that the original German parts received. I noticed several familiar areas from GTS/ATS, and I was contented to see that the vegetation, streetlamps and roadsigns were completely changed for ETS2, while new city names were also popping up at the same time, so Germany is far from being a straight copy-paste from GTS...

Enough with the spam. SCS may get tired of it and not do what you want them to. The purpose of this blog is not to spam, but to post HELPFUL comments, not junk like the jerk above has posted. BAN EVERY SINGLE SPAM COMMENTS! Once is enough. SCS can only do so much, however much they can do, they will do, the rest will have to wait. They even said that they could only cover a certain amount. They even apologized for it. Instead of spamming, please take the time to read the recent posts. I understand that not everyone has watched this blog as long as I have, but so what!

Did you really think that SCS forgot their fans? Obviously they are very busy right now, and have no time to post. I'm sure the next thing they post will be really good. But if it's not, that's okay. SCS will never forget their fans. And these pictures are so good, as well as the other most recent posts.

ReplyDeleteOh and scs can you please give ETS2 a wide range of graphics options (eg. good eye candy on high settings, but still playable at low settings for a entry-level card), cause I have a geforce 210 and would really like to play ETS2 when it comes out. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteSCS you have the most realistic pictures in that scheenshot you have all the road signs of the real state that they go to then the same road signs i really cant wait to see the work that you have done because that is the best europe trucking game i have ever seen.P.S. when your done please what you good company make even a realistic American truck simulator game that have road signs that go to the exact state not like that same boring one on theses 18 wheels of steel. please make one with all your heart.
