ETS2 Day & Night Cycle + Weather

Euro Truck Simulator 2 has much richer shading options available than any of our previous games. The day & night cycle is really incomparable to any of our previous games. Here is a couple of quick pictures, intentionally taken with exactly the same scene.

    Great work scs.I noticed little details.On the gameplay video when the driver look left side the glass is close.And driver going inside the glass.And there is no cable on the trailer when truck turning.Sorry for my bad English.Thanks again:)

    Fantastic screens but i see only rain and no snow? Why?
    And the seasons? I see the same type of green and flowers...
    For a real truck simulator can't miss the snow, seasons and the different kind of guide about varius situation

      you are joking right?
      A dual core 2.6 is perfect to run on maximum settings and yeah a 512mb graphic card. I have a GTS 450 1gb ddr5 and e7300 2.66 and GTS runs perfect at maximum, Scania TDS and ETS 2 are better optimized, in GTS i have drops sometimes. My videocard doesen`t cross over 50-60% usage, average 40% because of my dual core but still the game runs great at 55-70 fps, when i`m in town i have 20-30 fps and then my videocard is at 20-30%, but not becaused GTS is a very hard game, is bad optimized, i`ve seen those drops on better pc`s with quad core so chill you will run perfect if you have a dual core 2.5 and a 512mb video card.

      I`ve installed and played the trial version of the game, truck and trailers and that game is broken man, is not from your pc. I will explain to you: i`ve set all to maximum, the game is moving like crap, when i pop-up the menu and change anything, antialiasing for example and click apply>esc>change it back again the game is moving normaly so WTF :O , with same settings the game moved crap and well so... my GPU stay at 99%, thats akward, because my CPU don`t have the power to keep up with my GPU, my real GPU usage in any game shoud be maximum 90%, average 70-80%, BF 3 on same PC runs a lot better then truck and trailers at the begining, when you change something the game is completly something else, from 8fps i jumped up to 70-80 with same settings. THAT GAME SI BROKEN! I hope i won`t find that bug in Scania TDS or especialy in ETS 2.

      It`s not just that, but when i play it feels like i have a delay in mouse and keyboard and i have over 50-60 fps. I thought that GTS was a really bad optimized game but trcuk and trailers is more. I never saw my GTS 450 at 99% never in any game, and this game is killing the pc, more then BF 3 or Crysis :)) WTF.

      i use these specs for T&T

      2.4 Quad Q6600
      3gig DDR2 Ram
      Radeon 4800 1GB DDR3
      500gb sata2 Harddrive

      runs all settings maxed out with no problems, and I wouldnt call it a good pc, below average, system resources, and programs running in the background can really slow a pc down, make sure things that you do not need running are closed/shut down

      I had same problem with T&T and GTS, in GTS there was low FPS in towns and in T&T i couldn't even play because it was lagging bad.

      Other games like Crysis 2 or GTA IV works fine on maximum settings.

    This road is PERFECT i am VERY EXCITED with this game.The 1st, 2nd,3rd, 6th and the 8th pictures are my favourite.And, we must do something about the greek language.
    I hope i will find these languages in ETS2 too.

      i think the RECOMANDED(not minimum) systems requirements are: Intel core 2 duo 2.2, 512mb video card 2GB RAM and 2-2.5GB HDD space, search on google. Anyway, will run fine with a dual core 2.5 and a 512 GP.

    1 - time option, you could put in real time using the time and date of the computer system

      it would be a nice touch, but id sooner SCS spent their time actually working on the physics, gameplay and extra's for the trucks, depots, and management side of the game, an open window is a great thing in the real world but a pointless in a virtual world

    nice . I just hope with the customisation of the trucks that we occasionally might see the other trucks we buy going in the other direction with the customisation on it . Not like the earlier games where you only see standard colours and none of the other trucks you buy

    i found out a bug in truck and trailer and i really hope i won`t see in Scania TDS or in ETS 2.
    With maximum setting when i want to start a mission the game run like crap 7-20 fps, i enter in the menu change anything doesen`t matter, esc, then change back again to maximum the game is runing at 70-80 fps WTF :O with same settings and my GPU stays at 99% :)) thats impossible i have a dual core CPU my GTS 450 never stayed at 99% in any game even in BF 3 or Driver San Francisco. I HOPE SCANIA TFS AND ETS 2 ARE BETTER OPTIMIZED.

    Your shaders are very impressive, they really are! There are a lot of games out there where the night and day always seem to be the same, whereas here things are different. I am in no mood to play GTS or UKTS, because now I see how unrealistic they actually are. They are nothing compared to this, just like you said. I love how you guys are honest about everything, you don't try to glorify your work like other companies do. You just show us natural pictures, nothing else. But it reveals the true beauty of your work. Nice job, no one can compare to you.

    Everything is amazing, good job SCS Software. :P

    I think that every fan (like me) must buy the game and support SCS Software, because they are working so hard to bring us some of the most amazing games.

    So, let's hope that the release date will be revealed soon and - please stop complaining anymore. If you think that the game will not worth buying it, just don't write stupid comments only to spam.

      No one is complaining! I don`t think anyone would think that the game is not worth buying it, but is not a complaing that you say what bugs you encounter at other SCS games, when this game comes out you want to be perfect, almost perfect. Bugs like instability or delay or big drops, are very anoying, i`m just saying to look more carefully, not complaining.

    I would love SCS to add certain features, being a truck driver in the "real world" I see them on a daily basis, i'd like to see other trucks at the pick up and drop of points of the cargo, i'd also like it that when you complete a delivery, the trailer does not just vanish ( makes me think i'm in a Las Vagas magic show ),other drivers/trucks picking up and dropping of trailers, while your actually their, not empty yards as unless your delivering to a small company 90% of the time I go to be "tipped" and I have to wait from anything between 10mins to 2 hours or more, Id also love it if the features of the company ownership include storing trucks/trailers at your company depot, as the company I work for there is always at least 10 or 20 trucks or more in the yard for day/night drivers to use, also having the added feature of adding work shops at your company depots, chance to fill up with fuel before leaving the depot to take a delivery, and if there is a small chance of having the storage part of the haulage, having a company warehouse to store stock in and which you could get your own drivers to pick up and deliver to your own company's warehouse, and you can then pick up a load ( once processed ) to take to another country/city, and then bring back another load to your company's warehouse to store for other drivers to deliver to earn the company money

    I might not have the best ideas in the world, but I have 23 years of driving trucks under my belt, and it might be sad to spend 5 or 6 days away from home "tramping" and then play a computer game of the job I have just done, but hey thats me, I love trucks, truck driving, I clean inside my truck everday and wash the outside everysingle day which not only keeps my busy while waiting to be loaded or "tipped" but it also make the company i work for look more professional, and the same with me, a man who is happy in his work always goes the extra mile to proof himself

    its called a distribution centre, where a company truck will go multidrop pick ups these loads are taking to the company warehouse, to be sorted, and then loaded onto trailers to be taken to supermarkets, building company's

    most uk truckers have on their trucks/trailers

    In the first videos, as in the ones I have posted I want to look closely at tuning cab both front and back of it, if you can add to and these lights is called angel eyes and which are above the the cab and behind as shown and it is equipped with lights and also try to add, and if you look carefully you'll notice that after the truck is passed give some signals of the beyond and you try to add something to the game, that when you go over to the front as a signal to be passed, and the one that is passed back to give you a signal that you can return in front of him and thank the you to him with lights as shown and filming posted by me. I hope you'll make an effort and you will find a way to try adding these elements in play and I hope that many would like to see. thank you and remember to add the map of Romania

      Nu cred ca o sa mai adauge acele chestii cu semnalele in ETS 2 probabil in ETS 3, ar fi frumos ce zici tu acolo, sa-ti dea semnal de multumire sau sa iti dea semnal ca poti depasi si asa mai departe, cat despre tuning, ei deja au pus o tona de chestii, poti impopotona tirul cu tot ce vrei si ce nu vrei atat la interior cat si la exterior, dar ai si tu dreptate se poate si mai bine si mai mult. Eu numai vreau nimic acum, decat sa fie jocul cat mai bine optimizat ca sa il putem juca bine, nu ca truck and trailers sau GTS. BAFTA bro!

      I don`t think they will add those things that you mentioned in ETS 2 maybe in ETS 3, it would be nice what you are saying in your post. They already put o tone of things in costumization, you can tune-up your truck with anything you want, you can make it like a chrismas tre in interior and exterior, but you are right it can be better. I don`t want anything else now, just to see that the game is well optimized, they have made a very very beautiful game and it would be a shame to run like crap.

    Vážně velmi zajímava práce... Sem rád že hra bude v tomto směru o dost realnější než její předchůdci. (GTS,ETS) Dobrá práce SCS Software. Zatím mě hra úplně odrovnala svojí propracovaností, jenom doufam že to nebude extra náročne na počítač a bude to možné rozject na slabším...

      the game is almost finished, they are bug fixing now. If they are going to add suggestion now, then the game WILL get delayed. your choise, a new truck model or a game that you an play when they said they will release it. modders are going to make that model.

That would be awesome i`ve played truck and trailers over and over again i`m getting tired of it, lucky they will realease Scania TDS wich is a good game but not that good like ETS 2. I like Extreme drive in Scania TDS is very good mod, GJ SCS, but if someone can explain what`s about with that YETD, what do you do in that mod?

      Guys now that's a thing I don't understand, why do you so much wants mods, I prefer to wait for a fully SCS made game instead of moded heavy game wich will only bring harm to my computer, and a laggy game that wont be enjoyable.. I better wait (while playing) 1 month for a patch release that SCS will release instead of mods... not saying to add things now, but I prefer SCS to continue working on new models, new sounds etc. on later ETS2 patches instead waiting for modders to make the game heavyer

      Your right ArmoredLKW, players of this game, download and install loads of mods, which are created by a very talented group of people ( which i think SCS should ask to help them out with the game models ), but adding these mods to the game often slows it down, and then the same people complain about the game running slow on a highend computer, my pc is not very high tech, but i run T&T on max with no problems ( all be it with the standard models put into the game by SCS )

      Yep, that's the thing SCS could contact them and continue develiping the game(but they need to be serious and reliable), it's not just 1 august 2012 and the work ends.. If scs continue developing it with the help of the modders(wich are hundreds) they could improove the game on aline level and with the help of SCS everything will be perfect (sound recording etc.) and mods wont be needed becouse everything will be in the games' sandbox wich will make it work smoothly.. Hope that SCS have big plans about ETS2, of improoving it further than it'll be on the release..

      I do that job more or less everyday my self, and I know how much work is involved and the hours that need to be worked, plus being away from your family and friends for days/weeks and some times months can be hard on both the truck driver and the family, Ive been driving trucks for over 23 years now, and Ive enjoyed every second of it

      I can answer to your questions if you don`t mind :D.
      1. You can`t costumize the truck in Scania TDS, you have only the Scania class B = Scania R 440.
      2. No, the driver can`t go out.
      3. 7 different manufactures, all with licence:- Man
      - Iveco
      -Mercedes-Benz
      - Daf FX
      - Volvo FH
      - Scania
      - Renault
      Renault has 2 different trucks, the route 66 Magnum and Renault Premium, but i don`t know if both have 3 classes C,B,A.

      Some answers ... SCS told that no matter wich brands license they get, they'll record all tractors(trucks).. The C,B,A classes're removed at customizing you'll be able to choose engine and transmission, so ... no matter you have Megaspace Actros or normal cab you can have 610hp engine.

      I saw in a clip that now are 3 classes, nomal line, highline, and top line. In top line trucks category are included those i mentioned, Man v8..etc?

      Well, as I saw from the customizing vid there's a 730 V8 Scania, but I think it'll be with stock sound (not open exost), wich's a bit not real :X ...

      I saw the new Volvo FH16 750, it`s awesome, but in ETS2 is the FH16 edition not FH16 750, not a problem, even that i can`t decide what truck will i drive in ETS 2, Scania, Man, Volvo or my last choice would be Iveco.

      I've started to hate "Maybe.." lately (:D).. but for sure I know what I'll hear first when I enter ETS2 gameplay, the start of 440hp Actros engine :D.. as for the FH16, who knows maybe SCS have added the 750 E5 engine, no one knows..

    I saw in a Scania costumization guide, he had a 730 HP engine and it wasn`t the last, there was at least 2 more engines but i coudn`t see them because he didn`t scroll all down.

    The night shot is too dark in my opinion!!!
    You can hardly see anything except the lights of the truck. Maybe you should consider to turn up the ambient light for the night scenes a tad more.

    For Euro Truck Simulator 2, you can do that deliveries of gas, oil, stuff like that to makethe delivery of a seller of oil at a service station's how it would be more realistic. And also several forums where I read that the game they want to be like I've written for the gas.

    Truck must be the early in-cabin lighting. Each truck is available in this. Night lamps that are placed in the ceiling of the cabin, and takes in the dark might be nice in the inside lighting is full. Implemented as a real game very well. You can do that too. Your work more wishes you congratulations.

    LKW muss die frühen Beleuchtung in der Kabine. Jeder LKW ist verfügbar in diesem. Night-Lampen, die in der Decke der Kabine platziert sind, und in der Dunkelheit wäre schön im Inneren Beleuchtung ist voll. Sehr gut implementiert als ein richtiges Spiel. Sie können das auch tun. Ihre Arbeit wünscht Ihnen mehr Herzlichen Glückwunsch.

    Fantastic progress SCS!

    Now that you are coming up to the 'polishing' phase in the development of ETS 2, I have just one request...

    Could you take your more casual fans in to consideration when refining the controls. I am not so much a die hard ETS fan that I'll use a steering wheel but I do enjoy using the 360 controller.

    Any effort to make controllers more usable and their controls adjustable would be great, even if it's your last priority!
