We are officially "Gold" with Scania Truck Driving Simulator for some of the markets, but still producing the final 1.0.0 versions of the game for other markets. This is a big moment for the team working on the game, but their work is far from done. There is the game's website still to be launched, updates to translations to be prepared for future patches, and we even have new content for further expansion of the game already in our plans. We are happy to confirm that the game is going to start appearing on the markets during the week of June 18th (there might be small differences in various countries).
Yesterday we have organized another truck sounds recording session, this time with a Mercedes-Benz Actros. As always you will see a short video of it soon - a whole day's worth of work of several people compressed into a short clip which takes another few days to post-process and cut, just so we can show you what we are working on.
Work is of course not ever ceasing on Euro Truck Simulator 2, and as we know that you always crave for something to see, not just to read the boring text, here is a bunch of images from ETS 2:

Perhaps a thing you havent thought about yet, but try to make traffic headlights a bit stronger ? So you can get blinded sometimes like in Rig N Roll...
Now the traffic headlights are too weak imo.
Next thing is the truck acceleration which I adressed in previous bunch of screenshots but I never got response to it. Try to make trucks accelerate slower, so they dont feel empty and you can really feel the power of it.

DeleteAll the AI Trucks and cars will have realistic accleration as well i presume? Annoying when your behind or next to another truck at a set of lights and it flys of into the distance while your truck is barely moving.

One very nice thing I've noticed apart from the excellent light bloom effects is in Picture 10 the Stralis is puling off the motorway onto the services which is fantastic. The Merc in picture 11 appears to be fueling up too. Although i don't like the red outlined parking bay in picture 2. the ones in TnT and STDS look much better.

DeleteHopefully they'll all be new, but I doubt it. One of the things that really bugged me about UKTS is the service stations. I would sacrifice anything to have more real service stations in this game, I just want new service stations. I will be very disappointed if there aren't any.

I wonder how many people who want the AI vehicles to refuel will also be the ones whining when they have to wait in the queue in game and scream for a mod or patch to stop it happening .

DeleteI wont be any of them complaining, Id love it if SCS program it so the AI trucks/cars pull into get fuel, and trucks using the rest stops, im a real trucker in the "real world" and if I play it like it is in the real world, if im stuck in a queue to fuel up at least I can go to the kitchen and make myself a coffee which I can not do in my real truck, I find it hard in the "real world" to park up some nights to get a good nights sleep depending where I am of course, if im in the uk ill sleep at a company yard

As far as the screenshots go, I was drooling at some at some of them, Just wish they would post more screenshots with added extra's to the trucks, and not just the scania as this seems to be the truck they show the most, I understand that with STDS due out in a couple of weeks, they want to show scania their work, but for fans ( me ) seeing scania's all the time gets a bit boring, I'd love to see a tri-axle upgraded ( wih extra lights etc ) MAN TGX, or the Volvo, I love the screenshots, dont get me wrong, and I know SCS are very busy trying to get the games finished, and I love the new effects with the headlights lighting up the road which is a lot better than the older versions of the game

ReplyDeleteI found your games and I was excited to try the demo versions of games German Truck Simulator UK Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator and 18 Wheels Of Steel Haulin.
Troblem is that the game is interrupted at times, but only for a split second it becomes annoying. Run the game with 75 fps but discontinued.
My computer is:
AMD Phenom II X4 960 3.0 GHz T
8 GB RAM
nVidia GTX 550 Ti

DeleteNo its not about that. I have E7300 and GTS 450 1GB and i still have the same problems, because the game si bad optimized. I have a friend that have a 2500k and a GTX 570 and has the same problem, it`s not from you pc. Play truck&trailers, that is a better optimized game. STDS and ETS 2 are better optimized, the RECOMANDED system requierments are : Intel core 2 duo 2.2, 512mb graphic card, 2GB RAM. On my PC in T&T i had 42 fps +, never bellow with max setings.

- Roads: Not just highways, and make every road more unique! Also, In ETS1 on the "single roads" the AI cars drive at like 50 km/h, PLEASE make them go faster!
- Make all the cities more unique, and BIGGER. In ETS1 for example, Paris looks exactly the same as Berlin.
- Make distances longer.
- And that you release it soon. :p

ReplyDeleteFan boy! There are a lot of companys better then SCS, but no one is making truck simulators, this is why SCS is the best ;) in this category. You can`t compare SCS with Codemasters. ETS 2 is big game for SCS, they really have done a great job so far, i stoped playing BF 3 and other cool games for this one, this means something.

Under one observation, though.
As a frequent highway night traveler I have to point out that the vehicles look too dark. As long as the surrounding landscape should, indeed, be pitch black, the same doesn't apply to traffic participants.
Especially trucks which, in E. U., have to be "decorated" with mandatory high visibility elements (reflective stripes, plates etc.), making them look like x-mas trees. Most of them will appear quite luminous when approaching them, even from a considerable distance. I know this might be a "programming" difficulty, to have them reflect only diffuse light, and not only the direct headlight beams, so I won't insist on it.
And, as another commentator noticed, the flares created by the rear position and break lights are a little too exaggerated. This, together with the street lighting has been an issue since ETS1.
Anyway, no more nagging... Keep it up, SCS!

ReplyDeleteIm not complaining, im more like a 4yr old on christmas who keeps looking at the clock to see what time the jolly man in the red suit is going to pop down my chimney to drop my presents off, the postman is the jolly man and im the 4 yr old waiting, I love SCS games, I own all the trucking simulator games, and I have both STDS and ETS2 on pre-order for months in the case of ETS2 and STDS about a month as I only new about that just before may of this year, Ive even booked time of work to play STDS so all I got to do now is wait until the 18th June ( or there abouts to receive my game through the mail )

ReplyDeleteDid you played at maximum settings? How do you think it will run on E7300 2.66 dual core and GTS 450 1gb and 4gb RAM with maximum settings?
DeleteMy PC is equiped with E8400 3GHz with 4GB RAM + GTX 260SOC 896MB. I play at maximum settings FullHD 1920x1080 + 150% texrures. I got 40-60 FPS, but if I want to record with Fraps, I have to reduce resolution to 1280x720 to get stable 30 FPS on record. So I think, that your configuration will be ok.

DeleteChrissCross, here in my country is the same. I'm from Bulgaria and no one site is offering the game and that's very bad, because i want to buy the game here from my country, not to buy it from UK or somewhere else.

STDS inthat picture is 1 from 1 of the challenges in the game, and the finish line is on the car ferry, once you pass over the finish line the challenge finishes
DeleteI belive in ETS2, they have a ferry from the Uk to France and also the eurotunnel, I did read about the euro tunnel and even seen some of the screenshots with trucks parking up on it, but i do not know if they are still going to include it

I am disappointed when I see the same gas stations, the same trailers with minor changes, the same companies with no different...3 years and no create from the beginning all! Map is bigger!!! so what? to see the same old thing? I want to see real world, real life for truck driver!!! This is truck simulator.

ReplyDeleteId still like to see different versions of the scania in STDS, more so with some of the heavy haulage ive seen in the screenshots, moving the big excuvator and the like, maybe even a tri-axle tractor unit, options for additional lights and beakons on the top
ReplyDeleteSCS haven't yet released the game and have " further expansion" in mind, maybe we'll see tri-axles there.. maybe more :D
DeleteI don`t think STDS is a future game, for ETS 2 they shoud think about DLC`s. In STDS you can`t do much thing. I expect a lot of DLC`s for ETS 2, with more maps, Frnace, Spain, Italy...etc
DeleteMore tuning options for the truck. I didn`t saw a video with interior costumization. There are 2 things in ETS 2, 1. interior; 2. interior costumization.
In interior you can change the side of the wheel and the option you whant, normal interior or exclusive. (it changes yor interior, leather all of it).
In interior costumization you have like exterior costumization a lot of options on the truck, i saw on a Renault that had different seats, but the options are more, one for the wheel and one for the dashboard.
Yep I agree there'll be tons of DLCs for ETS2, but who knows, lets first see STDS full released and test it. Then'll see, maybe there'll be more things needed..

DeleteAgain this is a rumour not actual fact, unless SCS clearly state this then its a load of rubbish, SCS have stated a few times even on this part of their blog that the game will start to be in shops from the 18th June not the 8th
DeleteIs not a rumour, look at those sites too. The game premiere was on 1 june. The game was announced "gold", on 8th june the game will be in Poland shops, that sucks for rest of us. I`m shore there will be a hacked version soon ;).

DeleteThose site are not belonging to SCS, they are retail sites, and ill be very surprised if STDS is released through them tomorrow as SCS clearly stated it would not be in the shops until the earliest 18th June, and thats only a certain few shops that sell games
