DeleteMy opinion is; there should be a simple LAN option for playing with own friends. Just HOST and JOIN. An MMO Trucking Sim is impossible because of trolls as you said. But a little LAN option wouldn't be bad I guess.

DeleteAnyway, I don't care about Multiplayer at all, I feel absolutly no need to get crashed into by imbecils, so the only thing I'd like are private lobbies or lobbies in wich there are admins (NO SCS ADMINS!!).
A bit the same as SA-MP or G-mod, in wich there are servers owned by players and with administrators. Sure, not every server is controlled by mature people and sometimes the admins are actually the worst, but there's always an option to leave and join another server if you'd like.
But if you like the server and it's players and it's admins, you'll come back.
An SCS controlled server would suck, there wouldn't be any admins so the server would be filled with trolls and imbecils and besides that, it's not SCS's job to police it's players. (SCS don't even control/police the persons spewing hatred and insults on this blog -___-)

Actually, SCS could 'sell' the servers, just like SA-MP, G-Mod, Battlefield 3, etc.

ReplyDeleteThe background at the fourth picture reminds me of the Santa Monica Pier near Los Angeles, so I suppose the city will be on the list of included destinations... :)
The environment also looks diverse and refreshingly new, which is a great plus. Please, make sure that the cities won't look mere copy-pastes like they do in most cases in ETS2.

ReplyDeleteThis Looks sooooo much better than ETS2, seeing this I'am almost frustrated, about what SCS did in ETS2. ETS2 it's really a nice game, but it Looks like SCS just waited to make another American Truck Simulator to it's best. I love the USA etc. too, I really love the United States of America. It's like were you dreams come true and for me it's the Country unlimited possibilities. When this game Comes to the Market I'll surly buy it. But First ETS2 has to bee upgraded to the best it can be. There are so much (or was it many?) unreal things, like the prefabs (or whatever). Just look at what the Map-Modders are able to do. SCS have to do this at least in the same Quality, when not better.

The things we want from American Truck Simulator....Euro Truck Sim 2 graphics with 18 wheels of steel haulin/pttm features....like buying your own trailer, able to see your own drivers....see your trucks/trailers parked up in the yard.

The addition of B doubles/triples would be good too.
We also want to see things like the suzies on the trailer being connected to the trailer...maybe add a feature so you have to hitch up the trailer properly instead of just hitting a few buttons?
Or when you start the game or a new day you have to do the 'pre-trip' check, checking under the hood etc after all you want it to be as realistic as possible right?
I personally don't care about multiplayer although it would be a nice feature...getting the game right is more of a priority.
I'd like to think after ATS that we can see an Australian/New Zealand truck simulator....or maybe a classic truck simulator? Whether that's in the UK or US or EU I'm not too fussed it would be cool to see these games out. Perhaps have a poll on what the next project should be....and after a month or 2 of votes make that the next project...as well as asking us what WE want not just assume what we want.
We understand it costs money, but you only get back what you put in....that's my 2p worth anyway
Well said Jonny, I couldn't have said it any better than you have right here. But i would like to see maybe random tire blowouts and maybe random breakdowns that put you on the side of the road. This will help use up some of the money we gain throughout the game so we don't just have millions and get bored. Maybe add in dirty trucks and we can get them washed. Also i would like to see where we start with a junker truck as most will not start with a brand new truck because that would just cost way too much money in real life.

ReplyDeleteGreat news, few years go i didn't know your games but i hope for this new game it will be much more challenging that ETS2, even if it's a good game after many many hours of play that become slightly boring at the end where is no challenge.

Looks good. Lots of the latest North American trucks. Please make sure you make the lengths of the trailers accurate. North American trailers are in feet, not meters. 53, 48, 45 and 40 are standard measurement lengths, with most modern trailers being 53 and 48 feet long or more. When you offer customization of trucks, please make the size of the sleeper pods optional. Low, mid and condo sleeper heights are common on North American roads as well as the length of the sleeper pods. Most North American fleet trucks have 2 and 5 hole disc wheels. On reefer trailers, the latest refrigeration units are Thermo King and Carrier Transicold units. Please use the latest designs. North American streets rarely have round-about intersections. Please make the highway roads and signs look more North American and less European as well as the buildings, factories, warehouses, street scenes and especially the railroads. Also one detail missing on all of SCS Software trucks are the connections hoses and lines between the truck and trailer. Please include these on this new game. Think North American in the details. Looking forward.

ReplyDeleteI was also asking that question why SCS a small team doing lots of projects at same time, you should hire more people to help you finish quick as you can or do only one project at time as you are not size of Ubisoft with 300 people working doing this way you actually delay all projects as that add-on for ETS2 where it took you almost one year to complete it.

ReplyDeleteIn my oppinion, ETS2 is great, American Truck will be great for sure, Euro Coach will be good for.
ReplyDeleteThere are many things to improve, like many people have been writing over this last and last months ago, like police, accidents, hard works, our own trailers, weather conditions and many other features that SCS have already done in other games before.
What i think that could be really awsome is this:
Some people have ETS2 some will buy American truck and, i believe speaking for myself, some will buy both. Why don´t SCS give an option to "connect" both games? for costumers who buy ORIGINAL both games, the possibility to drive a Petterbilt in Europe ( i have see them already ) and the chance to drive a Renault Magnum in U.S.A. and the same to future EuroCoach.
This way, you are creating a real World of Trucks.
I believe this could finish in many ways the boring times we face while playing.

I don't think it will be possible to drive american trucks here in Europe, roads of that continent are not larger enough and not adapted to these huge american trucks, in USA the roads are much larger than here but i am for linking both games, it should be nice.

ReplyDeleteI was starting to wonder when I was going to see an update on this, it's looking pretty decent. One thing I think you should consider is not only making accurate models of the trucks, but making accurate trailers too. Transcraft, Wabash, Utility, Mac, East, Heil, Great Dane, Fontaine...do some research on that too.

- Players can buy own trailers!
- Real consumption.
- New model for gas station.
- Scales.
- Better physics.
- Better environment, trees, meadows, fields etc.
All these will be really nice and also if you can add technical problems that can happen to any driver or trucker or tyres puncture or some minor problems will make game more realistic hope you will add theses features.
Rig'n'Roll is a very good simulation of technical problems, need to do something as well as accessories on the truck.

ReplyDeletePlease SCS add more traffic to the game American Highways especially the more popular ones have lots of traffic on them I also hope to see more lanes as american highways also have plenty of lanes at some points.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to play this american truck simulator. It looks great, very good graphic and I think it will have at least the same performance as euro truck simulator 2. It seems to be a lot over 18 wheels of steel. Good luck and let us know when it's done and i hope no dissapointment !!

It would be perhaps nice to see you at work with a "making of" video.
Just make it variable resolution so ATI Eyefinity users can set how many monitors they want, from 1 to 6 monitors in surround or gigantic wall mode. And please do not dismiss 2 x screen mode, some of use have projectors and there is NO border in the middle for us.

ReplyDeleteI only hope you have been working on this and other projects whilst making the Going East DLC, because if it took a year to make a map the size of in-game Germany, ATS will be many years away (at current staff levels).
