Prehistoric Paint Jobs DLC

It may look as if we are trying to ride the current dino craze, but in fact this paint job set was put on our wishlist almost a year ago. Dinosaurs were a clear choice when we tried to ask our own kids for a suggestion on what to put on the trucks. We believe that the resulting paint jobs will make them happy, and perhaps strike a chord with some of you as well. ;)

Check out our all new Prehistoric Paint Jobs DLC on Steam!

  10. OKAY, you don't even do own company paint jobs like Posped, Tradaux, Stokes etc. paintjobs for trucks and waste time with these? I'd gladly pay triple for that.

    3. Uh . . . probably because almost everyone who plays this game immediately installs mods to get RID of those default companies LOL

The Devs know this. And if i were in their shoes, knowing this also, I'd still be in the position of "We needed "placeholder" companies for delivery purposes, but the trucks people will just make their own anyway to match the companies they install".

So . . . no . . . I do not blame SCS for not wasting time with those generic company skins on trucks.

However the GOOD news is - if you want them - it takes like 5 minutes in Photoshop to do a complete default company skin that perfectly matches the trailers they have in game.

    4. To use real companies, they would have to license the trademark The costs of that is of no real value as it would add extra cost to their product with no real payback on it.

  18. Now that the 1.19 patch nearly doubled the original road network of Hungary, I thought you'd utilize on that with a Hungarian paint job pack, something I'd gladly pay for. Instead we get dinosaurs.

Make no mistake, the paintjobs look nice, and it's understandable from a business perspective that you guys send the trucks aboard the Jurassic World hypetrain, but if there had been an opportunity of putting a Hungarian Paint Job Pack DLC in the limelight, it would have been the expansion of the official Hungarian map areas...

  25. Amazing (and hilarious) how all the ungrateful kids that whine and moan about SCS on here KEEP PLAYING THE GAME! Hey, here's a news flash to those of you who don't like this content: NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO DOWNLOAD IT! Simple eh? SCS makes money by selling extras like this, and there are plenty of us who appreciate its hard work.

So to all of you at SCS Software: kudos for all of the hard work you have put into this game over the years. I am sure the vast majority of players appreciate your efforts, and I personally love this simulator. It is a great way to relax after a hard days' work, and I enjoy every minute I play it. Thank you, and I look forward to the goodies you have in store for us in the future.

    1. I agree.

All these people who moan about how shit SCS is at making the game should at least go off and attempt to make a mod for it somehow, if they're such experts at game-design, instead of returning to this blog and writing nothing but criticism.

I agree that criticism is necessary in the gaming industry, so it doesn't lead companies astray and start doing things the community don't want, but when people come on here and just dismiss everything SCS release because ONE thing is wrong with the game, it's just ridiculous.

  26. It looks good, BUT:
Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Benelux states still don't have any flag Paint Jobs. In my game, I paint all my trucks with the flag of the country, so I would like to have them too.
    Thank you.

  27. While I agree with you, it is unfortunate that you will NEVER get any of these worthless "kids" (Translation: 40 year old adults who live in mommy's basement and never learned what a job is like or how companies work) to recognize that the development team is not a single person sitting in a basement somewhere. The good news, however, is there are some of us out here who do recognize that the company does have different departments of people with different talents and utilize all of them.

This happens with EVERY game I play. STO - they have a separate team of people who create ships - that team releases a ship and people flip out saying they should have done something with the environment instead - to a team that doesn't even work on the environment ~facepalm~

Well . . . from this thread . . . at least there are three of us who understand :) Thumbs up to Axel :)

  29. Its ok but its not for me.
I may get it sometime in the future just to show support for the game but other than that its not a rush out and purchase for me personally.
I think it comes down to personal taste with designs like this some will love it some will hate it am somewhere in the middle :-)

  33. I usually never comment here but goddamn, the comments here from whiners on this particular blog post are just pathetic. I absolutely adore ETS2 and SCS (hell, ETS2 is my second all-time favorite game, right behind Mass Effect 2 - I love it that much) and every time I come here I wanna slap these people with a fish, because all they do is complain. SCS just cannot catch a break - as soon as the update people have been demanding is out, these people come over to demand the next update. Ugh.

Anyway, I love collecting paintjobs - have almost all of them - and will be more than happy to buy this one as soon as I collect a bit of pocket money. I love dinosaurs and these paintjobs look badass. Rock on, SCS! You're the best! <3

  34. Those that have suggested SCS make a DLC of the in game companies for the current trucks should be congratulated. It's a simple, obvious idea and a very good one. I hope SCS take note and seriously think about such a paint job DLC. I wish I'd thought of it and I too would gladly pay for it.

    1. or add dangerous maps, while you have to drive with full concentration, but in the game situation is opposite way. You drive in just straight roads, set tempomat 90 km/h and enjoy the road. That getting bored in just two tours

  44. What I find interesting is how SCS is still taking advantage of it's supporters by maintaining a position of "charity case" profile. And the evidence of that can be witnessed from reading some of the comments posted right here on this blog thread as people are suggesting that they will purchase the DLC to "support" SCS.

Now i'm not saying that it's wrong to support a company with handouts, even I have done that... and agree it's nice to be able to help. But what I "do" think is wrong is for a company to build a business model around .... not only depending on people's hospitality.... but also, the point they reach where they (IMO) are now taking advantage of people's sympathies.

With the game reaching 3 years old, from a company of 15 years... I can agree with those comments that simply point out that there needs to be something palatable added to the game. Why are we still stuck on this path of... buying paintjobs to support the company? How much more charity does the company need?

One can also reason, and i'll go as far as suggest... if SCS is THAT much in need for income... how about designing one of the seemingly countless ideas that can be easily found right here on these various blogs threads? People continue to tell SCS what they are waiting to be sold.... but these things never show up with a price tag. Instead... we get another paintjob DLC.

Congradulations to those who are looking forward to getting more paint for your trucks. It's nice to see that at least "someone" is getting "something" from SCS. As for the rest of us who are still waiting for something a tad more meaty.... I guess we'll just continue to go without.

    1. I don't really mind them doing this while they continue to support the game for free with much larger content. If they weren't doing that, then I would have a much bigger problem with it to be honest.

But I've also reached a point with this paint job DLC that I will no longer buy it just to "support" them. I think they've had enough money out of me simply to "support them" at this point. Are they taking advantage of us? I'm not so sure about that, they still release updates with major features, and don't ask anything in return, which to be fair there has been quite few things that would normally be sold as DLC by a lot of companies, or added to a new game entirely. So you still have to give them massive amounts of credit for what they've done..

But as far as I'm concerned, if SCS want to continue to see more money from me, they should produce something more worthwhile. I bought a lot of the earlier paint job packs for the reason of support, expecting better DLC to come from it, but a line has to be drawn somewhere, and I wonder if it sends out the wrong message, that we actually want these when we buy them, I certainly couldn't care less. I'm perfectly capable of making skins just as good as these, as are many other people. Skins are the easiest way to mod the game, and rarely break anything.

They should concentrate on things which are more tricky, and worth while. Upgrade DLC's are the obvious one, the default upgrade choices and abilities is quite small, new wheels bullbars, lights, horns, and interior upgrades as well. They Could be sold in small packs, better they could try to get licensed parts. Such as for example a Kelsa lightbar pack, or a Hella Light pack, Or what about much larger DLC's that aren't map expansions? Which would enhance the functionality of the game, rather than the areas we drive on Such as a Trailer DLC which would give us the ability to buy trailers, and would include licensed trailers from Krone, Schmitz etc, and you would buy them, and customize them in a very similar way you do your trucks, currently. This would be fair to sell as DLC. Or a DLC that massively expands the company management aspect of the game. Then there's new truck models which we wouldn't normally find in the game, such as classic trucks, or smaller trucks such as the DAF CF, volvo FM etc. There's so much value they could add to the game, and many of us are happy to pay for it it would make many of us much happier, we'd be getting some value, from our purchase, and it would likely also provide far more revenue. I've just thrown a bunch of ideas out there off the top of my head, all of them would be welcomed by so many. I understand it would take longer to produce, but the rewards would be much greater.

Come on SCS! You've done a great job with the game, but many of your fans want more worthwhile DLC. I'm not saying scrap the paint jobs some people do want them, and it doesn't take any time away from other projects, but many of us would like something more useful

    2. There is a reason why i don't play much ETS2 anymore. Well don't play much isn't really describing it. I only play ETS2 when a new version comes out, didn't even bother to visit the 2 new cities in 1.19. I'm too one that is waiting for something more "meaty", such as improvements in gameplay. If it's not coming SCS will sooner or later loose me due to boredom.
And glad i'm not supporting Steam so i'm not obliged to buy all those useless paintjobs.

      Delete
    3. I haven't also visited the two new cities, actually i've not even covered 1/4 of Scandinavia because the roads say in Norway are nothing like the real ones IRL i.e there are no long and steep gradients, fjords are almost non-existent etc. The game is getting too boring now.
