Meanwhile, a lot of great screenshots of the new Volvo FH is already appearing on World of Trucks, so we hope the update will be well accepted.

DeleteIt is not the "I am trucker and the traffic needs to be 100% realistic against my truck-simulator", It is just AI traffic necessary to spice your gameplay up. Be glad they're there!
DeleteAnd I totally disagree with you. True, some sound would be nice, +1 for that. But if you park your car in front of a truck, I think you will disagree about the smallness. I have a Renault Megane, the same displayed in the AI traffic. I parked it in front of a Mercedes truck a while ago at a truckstop and the comparision is almost perfect.

About the size: It's scale perfect. Try parking your car right next to a real big truck. Cars are around 1.5m width and 4m long. A truck is 2.5m width (almost double width).
Of course they are like small toys... like in real life! ;)

(notice that the camera is still lower than drivers eyes, so he still sees things from more height).
One thing that affects the scale is the road size. You see cars real small there because road should be almost half its current width, and the truck should barely fit in narrow roads, making it a nice challenge, and more fun to drive (as in the video above).

If I buy it online I hardly have the chance to select Volvo or my game crashes! This is how crap the quality of this game is! I will throw it away and considered my 29.95 spent on it corrupted by people who don't know how to let games work!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. It works for me, with NO problems. Do you think perhaps there may be a mod that you are using that could be causing a conflict? If you do use mods, then I would suggest removing them, and see if that solves the issue, then put them back on, one by one.

Lay off him! It's easily done. I myself have done it with Sims 3; a patch was released and I just installed it without thinking about the 100+ mods I use! ONE caused trouble, as I later found out.

DeleteThe fact SCS got it first via Steam pissed me off first, but I just got a bit of a rage, when installed 1.7 when FINALLY the best truck ever is coming to ETS2, and the new Volvo is my all time favorite truck, and actually, it was worth the wait.
So installing this patch and it didn't work, got me pissed off a lot. But I was mad because I didn't know it was my own fault for having the FH16 mod in. I never use truck remodells, I just wanted to you if it is any good.
Now considering everything is okay, and the Volvo works 100% and is REALLY nice. a big +1 for SCS. Another sorry for my rage.

ReplyDeleteIf you add new AI cars to the 1.8.0 update is it possible to keep the cars that look like the Nissan Qashqai in the sims AI that is, if Nissan cars of the brand-looking cars are no longer included in the simulator so then I can not update the program if you do not put some kind of nissan model cars to the programs AI cars. Nissan driver from the -80 and still i drive Nissan cars.

Personally I think this is a fantastic way to bring in some small bursts of money and allows us to add official stuff to the game rather than searching high and low for mods. 6 pack of skins every once in a while, maybe a new truck from time to time or adding a new business to the game giving us more trailers.

ReplyDeleteNice idea, but, there is a fly in the ointment. Tandems are not legal everywhere in Europe, because of their length. In the UK, for example, a type of tandem is used, however it is a 7.5t with a small trailer attached to the back. True tandems, which are 2 artic trailers one behind the other, are far too long for legality in the UK, also the weight would be an issue. The legal limits in the UK is 18.75m length and 44t weight. Obviously, a true tandem could take the length up by another 15m, and the weight by another x tonnes. Therefore, it cannot be done.

If you want to grow as a company, they have to offer all its customers the same rights, many people will not buy the DLC for not have Steam, we want the same opportunities as Steam users, we too have bought the game, and perhaps at a higher price. ReplyDeletethis is true but i my self got a cd copy of the game the day it came out and was using it untill i found out that it is better for scs to pach the game via steam as its easyer for them to do same as it is for the DLC as with other games from other companys SO instead of going on and on like some on here do about not getting the paches/DLC as quick as that of steam i created a steam account (that is free to do) downloaded the game from there uninstalled my cd copy and used my cd key to set up the steam vershion of the game AT NO EXTRA COST and now i can get the paches/DLC as soon as they come out makes it easyer then moning about it dont ya think?!!!!

ReplyDeletei had the same probolem i got over it buy changing the interior IE i drive a RHD but if i go into the shop to do the truck up the game crashes UNLESS i change the truck over to LHD FIRST then before clicking conferm change it back to RHD and it all works grate maybe you could try it this way?

ReplyDeleteSecondly, i have read in an earlier post that scs is working on two new truck models and that´s also great news since it makes me as a track enthusiast appreciate every man hour that they are spending into this game but though I have notice a issue with the new Volvo FH/FH16 gauge and that is the fuel gauge and the add-blue gauge both depletes at the same time which is not really realistic in real life. I mean the add-blue tank is always separate from the fuel tank and of course it´s obvious that the fuel tank has a bigger capacity in comparison to the add-blue tank.
Last but not least, would scs please implement the addon of side skirt and exhaust pipes to the 6x4-2, 6x4 chassis since i have also read that you are working on adding interior trim in future updates. I mean I don´t really like using mods since it crashes my games so often.
And finally, could please you just implement the use of the digital tachographs since we already have the option of adding fatigue simulation into the game.
I mean one can only drive 4hrs 30 minutes and then they have to take a 45 minutes break and the total amount of hrs allowed for a day is 9hrs before u can take a daily rest. And please add more realism to this game because all i know is that a truck with a trailer is only allowed to drive 80 km/hr, not 90km /hr as you guys have portrait it in comparison to the delivery schedules. I tried cruising at 80 km/hr with my truck and always ended up arriving late with my important and urgent deliveries which ain´t fair at all.

Delete+1 Mercedes is my favorite truck. I do not care about model of the truck any Mercedes will do. If someone from the Daimler AG is reading this consider giving a license to SCS. They are making perfect 3D models of trucks.
DeleteChristopher, i dont know what the laws for HGV's are where you live but in the UK trucks are limited to 56 mph sometime 62 mph. So if you travel at 80 kph then that converts to 50 mph which is too slow, so 90 kph is more realistic in my opinion anyways :)

More interior options would be nice, interior options don't come close to exterior options, and most of the time we are only looking at the interior

DeleteAs far as your proposed suggestion goes, it took them 8 months to make the "go east" expansion. For all the things you have suggested it would probably take a year to finish.
I would suggest taking a look at Promods map. It has a lot of what you have listed already.
When will the DSL Baltic countries, which are Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian cities? Lithuania was one of the largest cargo transit countries.

SCS Really splendid work! Hope you guys'll look into the trailer position on all trucks, it's sits high off the fifth wheel and far away from the cab of the tractor :(! Else but that there are only minor cosmetic issues to fix! Thanks for this wonderfull simulator! :)

Any chance of creating DLC packs with classic trucks? before 2008 trucks as Iveco Turbostar, DAF 95, DAF CF, MAN 19463, MAN F2000, MAN TGA, Mercedes-Benz Axor, Mercedes-Benz SK, Scania T500, Renault Major, Scania 143M, Volvo F10, Volvo F12, Volvo FH12, Volvo FM, etc .....

I have problems with all trucks (i want to play the game un-modded), and they have so little engine sound in cabin , i know real trucks are silent too but i want to hear the engine. (Not the blinkers or the retarder etc just the engine louder) So if you guys can give us a slider in settings or a patch about this problem, it would be great.

DeleteOpen (notepad, wordpad, etc) the "interior.sii" and change "volume" values for "engine[]: .ex" and "engine_load[]: .elx"
or change "s_interior_volume" value.

DeleteIf you bring cargo from A to B you actually get money for it. The longer the trip, the more money you usually get for it. If you have enough money you can buy more trucks, hire drivers and get more money. It works quite well, I have good experiences with it ;)

ReplyDeleteAfter patch 1.8 with the new AI, maybe you can resolve more bugs and do more prettifications to the map (in all areas, not only german). Maybe some pieces of textures to replace/rework. The lights / sound engine (in the cabin and not only) , horns... to revalue and if must, rework. Also the interior existing textures need a little bit rework.
ReplyDeleteWhen the delivery time is high (exceeds 5 or 6h) , pls divide the rainy time in 2, and put there a semi-random procedure (not allow raining one after another just with a few minutes, but more) , this is a little programming trick, very easy to implement.
There are so many improvements this game needs, I know that the time is short and the crew is formed from just a few, but try to focus on the essential. The Ocullus Rift by ex, will be used just by 1-2% of gamers. And the usual gamer (as i think) hate mods, especcialy tone of mods, that don't work with the next version of the game.
