Here is a very simple view of a scene with static camera, but various time of day.
We still have some work ahead of us in day/night cycle simulation (as well as bad weather which we are not yet even ready to show - the new effects are not completed). We are now tweaking tone mapping parameters; our new HDR system has a lot more degrees of freedom for settings things up compared to our old engine, but it also means that we can spend a lot of time with the alchemy of finding the best approach.

So there will be new weather effects as well, which is great! Just like the video, although I hoped to see a late night shot as well. Let's hope it will be just as dark as it would be in reality, unlike in ETS/GTS. :)

Looking good -- although I might be used to nights here, maybe the sky is lighter in south of Europe (apart from summer nights up here, of course). Not much darker, but a bit?

ReplyDeleteVery good! The climates are very real, and the trees and grasses in the wind and balance realistic. Surely it will be by far the best truck simulator game by SCS Software. But imagine here some 5 years, 2015, 2016, will release more games much better this that , so I can not wait!

As much as SCS is doing, to try and make us all happy,I wonder if they will price themselves out of the market with this new game simulator.Will the graphics cause the average person to have to purchase a much better video card,more memory (ram),3d graphics? I have a good card now, but fear it may still have to be upgraded soon.Personally, I will spare no expense tto satisfy my need for the best simulator game in the trucking world! But I wonder about those who are not as fortunate as I.SCS..you are doing a brilliant job with ETS2!!

ReplyDeleteI really like the movement. But please be sure to add more cars, I don't understand why so many recent games are low on cars. Please change this by making a LOT of traffic. Without it, the world seems so quiet and boring, and people do not like that type of game. I recommend you make a slider that can control the amount of traffic, and if it's set up all the way, there should be so much traffic that you could hardly maintain the speed limit.

ReplyDeleteHmm.. i am a bit disappointed :/ day time looks well .. included clouds and effects, but about night :S :/ please, developers, have you ever seen so light night like you created to game? It's as unrealistic as in GTS or ETS was. Night is normally dark not so like that you don't need to turn on the lights and you can see one kilometer far in front of truck. Please, correct it.

ReplyDeleteAbout graphics, yes, most likely there will be many ways to drop down the quality to allow older systems to cope, just like all the previous titels from SCS and most other games.
It was unclear whether night was shown or not, at least to me (and some others, evidently). Maybe SCS can shed some light on the night, heh?

ReplyDeleteScs please tell us a bit about gameplay rather than constant images and clips of the landscape . The gameplay itself is what needs a huge makeover to get people interested in playing it for long periods . the landscape may look way better but if the actual gameplay is not vastly improved especially the AI then it will be a huge disappointment .Surely others on your team are improving gameplay so some information on that would be more interesting
