Truck brand licensing
Here is a small example of what goes on during our licensing talks - as we try to prove to truck manufacturers that having their vehicles portrayed in our games is no harm for them, but rather a benefit, pictures are a very illustrative argument...

The seccond last picture of renault premium is spetialy grate. And offcourse good job on all the trucks. Hope companies will agree soon, or should i say realize their benefit from this game.

ReplyDeleteI don't see any reason why Renault wouldn't accept their brand in ETS2. You can't kill, there is no blood, you can't damage the truck...

ReplyDeleteGood luck with all licensing talks. Manufacturers should realise gamers want to drive the "real thing" in a truck sim. Let's hope they all agree.

ReplyDeleteIt's very sad that huge corporations aren't aware of free publicity that you give them. I think that they should be the ones paying you (especially for making their trucks a bit better than in reality ;) )

But the computer should be more potent.

ReplyDeleteRaimond, how should anybody know, how much this game will cost? The price will be decided by the developers, when the game is ready to ship. Only then they can calculate the final developing expenses and start to predic the selling numbers etc. All these are very important factors, when making the decision for the final price. I would say, it's gonna cost around 50€, maybe littlebit less.

Great pictures. Renault brand it's awesome. I love it. And please, make this game the best and most real of all. Please make trucks to become dirty. And I want to say something about reality games. Everything is too perfect in a game! FOR EXAMPLE: you buy a second hand truck, looks like new. There is even a spot of rust. Or when you hit the truck remain intact without a scratch. That's all try to tell you about dirty trucks. Or about trucks damaged.

The Premium is perfectly made.. a masterpiece! Please SCS, make some limited editions of other brands like Scania Diamond (google for it) or others. Last, but not least, show us a in a video how the barriers are working and the railway crossings.

ReplyDeleteI think there is no reason to refuse this, the trucks don't crash or get broke in the game so there is no bad publicity for them at all.

ReplyDeleteI know that a vehicle is damaged in a game is hard, but would be really cool.
land on the windshield and cab would be spectacular.
On German Truck Simulator, when I go to the quarry, dusty and more dusty rises, but my truck stay clean.

Having their brands in the game is indeed a benefit!!
Your games are so advanced and the models are so nice that it indeed can't harm their vehicles :))

My goodness... that's so beautiful. Absolutely eye-candy for any truckin' fan. If I were a truck manufacturer owner, I would beg (and pay) you to put my brand into ETS2.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, I don't know why manufacturers still consideing that license can harm or not harm their brands. Aren't your previous truck games sufficient proof that there is no violence nor other kind of crime? Didn't Euro Truck Simulator won EuroTra Safety Award? Simply don't know where's the problem.

I know you arent finished with the game but dont forget that the lights on the roof has to work...they havent in the previus games so dont forget this.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look to this pictures I realize how much this game grow since the first Hard truck 18 wheels of steel. It is outstanding the quality of texture used for the road, you can see detailed grass near the edge of the asphalt and for trucks also. It is unbelievable how nice the truck looks.

SCS don't forget that the time gives the quality for a product , and this game is the proof that your work is valuable for us, fans! We are interested in this game. Maybe you cannot implement and develop for ETS 2 all the features we want to be a perfect game, but you are on the right way definitely!

ReplyDeleteI think we all wishes this but the SCS-team is small compared to other developers so I prefer they work first on ETS2 as planned and as they are doing now and then release it ..
Once released and we (all the fans) buy it they can start thinking of a patch that allows people to play online (if this is possible ofcourse)
So they make money by selling and have it to spend on patch(es) to enhance simulation :)

Maybe an off roading game would be more of a top seller aswell as your truck games. just a thought. and also is that a range rover in the right hand side of the first picture?

A person here said : "SCS don't forget that the time gives the quality for a product ". And she's right. Maybe Euro Truck Simulator 2 don't be a century best truck simulator. You can made a Euro Truck Simulator 3 after.

Yes but GTA dont have licenced vehicles, probably for this very reason

ReplyDeleteAll you have to understand that making such a multiplayer game is a little tricky.
The servers must communicate several trucks at the same time. You stop and continue your game when you want playing alone, but in multiplayer the clock should pass the same for everyone, so the delivery time of cargo could not exist.
Keep an online game generates a lot of expenses. Nobody wants to pay monthly, or want?
If we had to pay, hackers would create phantom servers.
Look at the problems that Sony has due to Playtation Network! Maybe when the SCS Soft growing, in the near future, we will see many games online.
And we will do everything to see it grow much, buying their games, that even in Brazil, where taxes on technology are immense, their games are still accessible.
