Scania mirrors revisited
There were some complaints from you in the comments here on the blog concerning the shape of the Scania R's mirrors. We take your feedback seriously, and as this particular little detail was easily fixable, we are happy to show you the freshly re-modeled mirrors and a bit of custom tuning.

There will be double trailers, but it will be one normal ssize trailer, then a little one behind, I remember scs showing pictures of it in a very old blog post.

- Are you at the stage where you can define the minimum and recommended system specs needed. Ivy Bridge CPU has been released and many are going to get new desktops / laptops.
- Also, any updates on 'Scania Truck Simulator', specifically release date and availability. Hope you make it available as a paid download on your site.

I think with these trailers in the game is a MUST so I hope like you said with the scaina mirrors that you can crack onto this as we haven't seen any news/information on them being implemented into Euro Truck Simulator 2!

We thought a few new pictures might make some of you waiting for Euro Truck Simulator 2 to be released happy
We would like to conclude this blog entry by a disclaimer - we really won't be able to put every feature that you guys dream of into the game. We would love to, and if you keep buying our games so that we can afford to continue developing truck sims, future versions of our games will be of course more and more feature packed. There is now a solid chance that doubles may make it into Euro Truck Simulator 2 as you can see - but for some things, we may have to be patient until Euro Truck Simulator 3, or American Truck Simulator 1, or whatever future may have in store for us...

Nice work SCS keep up with what you are doing please, SCS guys make sure every country in Europe must have it's own police cars and stations as well the game is not good and beautiful without the police. DeleteIn fact Haulin'/ALH are the only two SCS's truck games where you can't steer with mouse. Well, maybe in Convoy too, I don' remember, but in all other games you can.

DeleteI don't wanna buy a steering wheel, so if there's no mouse steering in this game i don't think i wanna buy it. i've been playing ETS 1 for about 3-4 months and i found out LAST WEEK that you can drive smoothly with the mouse instead of the arrow keys. I was like HOLY SHIT, made the game sooo much funnier. Playing with the arrow keys sucks..

Small rotation angle with cheap steering wheel ? no thanx and I dont have money, this month I threw 80euros to nothing cos I'm lucky guy....
DeleteAlso if game do not support mouse steering.. download program called PPjoy , your mouse will be "fake" joystick and you can set it to any game you want, I played on the mouse Haulin/ALH , simbin games etc..
I use a wired controller for the Xbox 360 . It works fine and is cheap to buy and you can set all the buttons to do different things

ReplyDeleteSo great that you even fix "bugs" that 50 out of 1,000,000 players would have recognized out of which 2 would actually have complained. Congrats, you guys really know how to set priorities!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, they are lazy son of a bitches who focus mainly on graphics. I know that is an important thing in 2012, but they cannot forget that they are making simulator not an arcade. Instead of correcting keyboard & racing wheel input and making steering smoother, they keep focusing on stupid things like mirror edges.
DeleteDon't focus on fixing the models too much, make steering more adjustable. Some people like their steering automaticly centering, but some of us like it stay when we turn, if you look at some other games it actually makes steering easier rather than tapping the buttons, its impossible to corner correctly. It's even easier to make then self centering, then you have to have timers which recenter the wheel based on vehicle speed and so on... You're done with the map, you're done with main things in vehicles, now focus on physics already.
And the last thing is camera movement, make the seats adjustable (basicly camera position), make the view transaction faster so when you're driving you can check your mirrors faster, it's really stupid when I'm using the wheel and I have to move the mouse with other hand to see where I'm going in curves and where's the trailer. I'm suggesting to make views saveable, when you get in the truck you bind the views. For example when you press button 1 on keyboard (another button for steering wheels) it checks left mirror, you press 2 to check right mirror and so on...
I can't wait to see kids complaining about graphics in a SIMULATION :) Trust me, I'd rather play German Truck Simulator graphics with Extreme trucker 2 steering than realistic graphics with German truck steering which is basicly hovercraft on a road.
Don't you know, guys at SCS have different responsibilities. Some guys make the map, other make the models, anims etc. If they have free time why not fixing the bugs?
Delete@Silver: Games like minecraft cannot be developed in HD, as it would require high-end PC of 2014 minimum to play it, and yes I agree with graphics being about 80% important for game to be good. But I don't agree with your comment about my complaining, saying things like "Go start your own project!". This is blog made for people to follow the project along, so they can agree and disagree with things in the game. So they received complains about mirrors, so they fixed it, we complain about handling of the truck, as this is main thing of the game and we hope it will be fixed. I didn't just complain like some people do on this blog saying "FIX IT", I also suggested how to fix it and what should they improve.
DeleteIf we look at Extreme Trucker 2, it has satisfying handling, but if we look at Netherland video we can clearly see it was fucked up. They never used mouse steering / racing wheel for their videos because they haven't fixed it yet. The project is nearly finished and there's Scania simulator which will be unplayable with steering like in Netherland video.

DeleteI have a high end PC but couldn't care less for graphics. IMO even the graphics of 18 WoS games was already good enough. I'd much rather have a lot deeper gameplay and simulation than what they offer. And i still play 18 WoS ALH every now and then since i love the US-Truck(er) atmosphere.
DeleteOther than that i play more and more old games from GOG.com or other resurrected game sites because these old games have satisfying gameplay unlike nice to look at screensavers and postcard generators like nowadays games.
I mean hey having modded ETS, GTS a bit i can only say that the simulation aspect of the game is ridiculously non-present compared to other sims. For example the only value used to determine a trucks performance is it's torque value. There is no difference in grip regardless of tires you use or road condition. Fuel consumption depending on drive-style? No way! Different behaviour depending on weight of cargo? Geezus.
Well those are the things that i expect to see in something that calls itself a truck simulation. I don't care for graphics where i can inspect single leaves of a tree with a microscope though.

I'm pretty sure not in initial release, map question seems to be closed for now, but let's hope someday. And of course it all depends on ETS2 sales. But if France will be extended to west, Le Havre is a must, so famous harbour with unique architecture. :-)

While the truck, I realized that to modify the taste of the person, and I want to talk specifically about the painting, I realized that the truck in the photos is adesivado by tribal symbols, and the skull. And I ask one thing you can do the same thing, only put the name of our company transport, such as soon as you start the game, in which country chooses, also put the name of our company we will create. So we may, in part of 'tuning' that is our garage truck, you can put stickers on the outside of the truck with the name of our company.

And one last request, when we are in enough money, we buy our own trailer, like, I buy a trailer chest, then I can only upload things that give the companies to load in the trunk, and so forth, with refrigerated trailers, among others ...
I know that you are having a lot of work to create this game, and the posts that you publish on the blog, is quite satisfactory on the development of the game, to see that ta getting wonderful but now that I mentioned are only some possibilities to improve this game more, and this will depend on whether you really need in this game or not.
So I wish the whole team SCS a good job, and are still so firm and strong for the creation of the game.

DeleteThe graphics are amazing, yes, they are too bright, but SCS Software must have turned the gamma up real high, when we buy this game, like in trucks and trailers we can turn the gamma down easily in the options. So you can make it look darker and slightly more realistic without slowing down your computer either.

DeleteI really liked radio streaming support in GTS, so with that possible why don't you get main radio stations of each country included and limit the possibility to connect only if you're located in that country? It's simple to make and it will really improve the gameplay! It's the small things like this that make the game more alive.

Yeah, so they should just include the radio that they've always had in their games, not some special radio. While I do think that is a decent and more realistic idea, it is probably not that easy, and gives the company yet something else to accomplish. They already have enough/too many things to accomplish, plus requests for this, requests for that. So I don't think putting this special radio is that important.

ReplyDeleteand if possible let go when tuning in to the store can change the color of light as the emblem in red or white or if you want to paint my truck and green emblem is green here these three colors have them in store for tuning the original is blue glow of the emblem. Hopefully it is possible to do

Their names are what they would be called in real life, even if they can't get the license, they'll call the truck a fake name (valient f16). The "f16" will be instead of ABC. Same on the Scania (Scania R series) the "R series" instead of ABC class.

The Scania Highline and normal cab HAS short bumpers, but the Toplines has those longer bumps.

Small villages on small roads must be.. I like when you must slow down to 50Km/h passing through the village.

why your own songs? you can set internet radios in GTS Extreme Trucker etc.
DeleteIn the first place the game is pretty good I wanted to know if the map is comcluido or not? I wanted to put it no more pictures during the week. In relation to the map Portugal, Spain, the rest of France and Italy to me the chart would be 5 stars if I'll have to get asim 4 stars

ReplyDeleteI really wanted you to do an engine sound that was changed when the gears of the truck, a loose sound of shifting, the gearbox (gear) / escape ...
Because here in Brazil we have "comb the turbine," and me being a modest modder, I would want to do next, different sounds for the game, with these sizzling turbine, engine roaring, the intercooler ...

a couple of quick questions if someone knows the answers , out of interest will be there any form of replay in ETS2 ,And secondly i play UKTS is there any benefit to levelling up ? i've reached level 55 now and apparently in game i am a " legend " , if anyone one can answer would appreciate it ......... Aslo great work SCS looking forward to ETS2

ReplyDeleteBut if you made a small change in function of the wipers. Please make them as there are three function: to put in 3-4 seconds in 7-8 seconds and faster.
